	Read LLC, a sub-entity of an intellectual ventures and an invention acquisition and
	development firm.
	What could go wrong?
	What could go wrong when Bill Gates becomes a hurricane tamer and does it under the auspices of trying to downsize the level of this?

	Hurricane Milton plowed into the Atlantic on Thursday after cutting a destructive path across Florida that spawned tornadoes, killed at least 10 and left millions without power.
	But the storm did not trigger the catastrophic surge of seawater that was feared.
	Governor DeSantis said the state had avoided the worst-case scenario, though he cautioned the damage was still significant and flooding remained a concern.
	The Tampa Bay Area appeared to sidestep the storm surge, and it prompted the most dire warnings, though the barrier islands along the shore south of the city endured extensive flooding.

As COVID-era protection programs expired, cost of living crisis hit the country.

	At the time, COVID restrictions on shelter capacity ended, leading to more homeless living in shelters once again.
	During COVID-19, most of the increase in homeless had come from unhoused individuals.
	But in 2023, sheltered population rose by almost 14 percent.
	My unhoused population rose by less than 10.
	However, the share of homeless held steady around 60 to 61 percent since the pandemic.
	Despite previous increases, the number experiencing homelessness on a single night in January When the count is carried out, it always stayed below Great Recession levels.
	Now they've exceeded that record, surpassing it by 1%.
	More homeless now in the U.S. than during the Great Depression.
