Pastor Jim Bakker traces his ministry’s rise from a Missouri dirt floor to the Dream Center, fueled by a $100 donation from Pastor Tommy Barnett 35 years ago, now matched with a $200 PayPal gift as divine validation. He ties generosity to biblical prophecy—like Venezuela’s "red horse" in Revelation—and urges $100+ donations for an "uncensored gospel," citing 1 Corinthians 9:11. The PTL Network promotes Cardio Miracle, a nutrient blend endorsed by Bakker as a "miracle molecule" for health, claiming it’s helped over a million people in ten years while pushing orders through jimbakershow.com or 1-888-988-1588. Ultimately, the episode blends personal testimony with apocalyptic urgency and direct fundraising appeals. [Automatically generated summary]
Today, our special guest is Pastor Theron Ventura.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here is your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends, you're watching the PTL Television Network.
It is a good day.
Why?
Because Jesus still sits at the right hand of the Father, making constant intercession for you and for me.
Friends, if that's not the most encouraging thing you've heard today, then you've probably already listened to a pastor like Mondo de la Vega preach the word or something.
I'll tell you right now, what an incredible thing, Theron.
We have a Savior who understands what we have been through.
He died on our behalf.
He rose again from the grave and he sits at the right hand of his father and he's praying for you.
He's praying for me.
That means we're never alone.
That means we're never going through something and we're in this place of isolation.
He is seeing us.
He is praying for us and he's making intercession on our behalf.
What an incredible thing, isn't it?
It is an incredible thing.
And to be a firsthand witness of it, to be able to see it live unfold when, you know, history is a little interesting when you're able to see the big picture of the ministry.
And I know when I first showed up here, I looked across the floor, Mondo.
It was a New Year's and it was a dirt floor.
Remember that?
The New Year's Eve and Pastor Jim was like, we're starting no matter what.
It was dirt.
And I come walking in with my wife because she had got a job here as a bookkeeper, I think.
And I'm like, the floor is dirt.
There's tables set up, but there was a stage and a couple rickety cameras in place and started a show on a dirt floor in a shell of a building.
That's right.
And then over the years, the shell of a building got cement.
The tabernacle came in and we started raising up young students to go through the ministry college here.
And I look around the room.
I know our director and his wife are back there running the director's booth and the audio booth.
I know my sons.
We pushed the chair up to a camera.
Remember when Lil Cole was a little skinny boy reaching?
And we pushed the chair up and he got up there at 12 and he was volunteering.
And by the time he was 14, he was able to run cameras, the director's board, lighting.
And now he has his own little business in Florida and he contracts out his work to even to the PTL network.
That's right.
I think how many churches, Mondo, across the United States, from the students who are taught and trained here media.
I mean, we're talking, we're spanning from Alaska to Florida.
We're going from California.
We have a person in Vermont.
I don't know how far northeast that is, but man, it's out of there.
You see what I'm saying?
But what an incredible thing, Mondo, is we're spanning across.
And then we've had students leave here and what?
We had one go to Israel and work over there with Christian television trying to tell the Jews about Jesus.
What an incredible thing.
This has just had the impact and reach.
Yeah.
You know, when you stop and think about, you're right, the timeline and the legacy of this network, this ministry, it continues to go all over the world.
And I think about you because you have been a part of this journey from day one.
Ever since I got to meet you, ever since I got to hear about you, our partners and friends, I realized that you have impacted the world through the sowing and the giving through this ministry.
From young people to older people to the church to different ministries to different outreaches that we have done throughout the years to help other ministries expand, but even provide the help that they need in a time of trouble.
And a lot of times we forget the storehouse where you get the supplies from.
And this is where what I don't want you to forget.
Don't forget where the blessing came from.
Because a lot of times you start blessing other people and that's good, but then you forget where the blessing came through from.
Right.
And a lot of times when you overshadow that, you forget the main thing, which where the fruits are coming from.
And that's where I come from.
This fruit, Ricky, Theron, you know, people that are working here, people that are volunteering here, is this storehouse here is providing not only a platform for every other ministry to talk about what God is doing in their life and their ministry, but also the timeline of how we started.
It goes back to the scripture that says, don't despise small beginnings.
And yet we sit here today after every trial, after every accusation, after everything that you can think of, we're still standing.
You want to know something?
I don't know if you know this story or not.
I've shared it a couple times over the years, Pastor Ricky and Mondo, but 35 years ago, I was in Masters Commission in San Diego, California.
And this scrawny kid from Phoenix comes out and he's preaching like the world's going to end.
And I'm loving it.
I love the preaching.
And he says, and so he comes to our church and I make friends with him because I was one of the only people that would, I was out washing feet and he's coming as a guest evangelist and he's like, what are you doing?
Washing feet?
Let me help you.
So I'm like, this is the big name evangelist coming to our church.
And so we became friends.
And a few weeks down the road, he says, come to this thing.
My dad's going to be preaching up the road.
I'm like, all right.
So I go up there and mind you, I'm in master's commission and I am poor.
I have like $100 I've saved up for six months to pay for my car insurance in California.
And it's in my pocket.
I'm like, it's not going anywhere.
You know it was 30 years ago.
Sorry, you know it was 30 years ago.
So I'm holding on to it and it was Pastor Tommy Barnett and it was Matthew Barnett, his son.
Wow.
And his dad's saying, we're going to have this new thing.
I've got a dream for the people in Los Angeles.
And I'm moved.
I'm like, I'm going to give that $100.
So I pull the $100 out and I give it to Matthew.
And he's like, don't give it to me.
You need to give it to my dad.
And so fast forward, fast forward 30 years later, 35 years today.
It was the Dream Center that I gave that $100 to.
To start.
And I showed up here 18 years ago.
And I start realizing this big full circle that that $100 went to Pastor Jim and Lori got married, met, engaged at the Dream Center because it gave them a chance to be restored.
I look at Mondo as a product of the Dream Center.
You came off of the streets and I know your book, My Crazy Life, tells the story of it.
And these same people invested into your life.
And now you're here today preaching the gospel.
And I know, Ricky, you're from Phoenix First Assembly.
And you were adopted off the street by Pastor Jim and Lori.
Well, is it because of the Dream Center's outreach, though?
I mean, it's supposed to show you what you poured into had generational rippling effects.
I mean, would you ever have thought 35 years ago, oh, I'm going to sit in a place with people whose lives are going to be changed because of this?
No.
And what's even crazier is you came in my office, I think it was yesterday, and I'm like, the Lord woke me up yesterday at 5.20 in the morning because when you asked me to be on the show, I got scared.
I was like, oh, no, I got, oh, Lord, help me, Jesus.
I'm speaking in another language out loud.
And I was sweating.
And at 5.20 in the morning, I wake up and for one solid hour, the Lord said, I want you to share this message about Philadelphia church, but I want you to remind them of the $100.
And so I told you this story.
I'm like, I know what I'm talking about, Pastor.
This and the $100 story.
And about an hour and a half goes by.
And I get a call from the pastor in San Diego 35 years ago that married my wife and I discipled me, gave me a couple of good whoopings along the way, right?
Like give good altar calls and stuff like that.
And he calls me out of nowhere and he goes, Hey, do you have PayPal?
I'm like, no.
And he goes, Do you have Venmo?
I'm like, no.
And he's like, I'm trying to give you $100.
The Lord told me to send you $100.
That's crazy.
And I'm at my desk going, Lord, you don't know.
I was like, Pastor, you, I just literally got asked to be on the show and the Lord woke me up yesterday to give this $100.
He's like, well, that explains why the Lord told me to give you $100 today.
So I go home and Lenora, my wife does the, she explains what PayPal is.
And he sends a test and he goes, did it make the $5 test make it?
Yeah.
And he goes, okay, here's the rest of it.
And then he sent me $200 instead.
I guess he was trying to say, let's do a double blessing.
Amen.
So the Lord's in the midst of it right now.
Right now.
And who knows, 35 years from now, what could happen with the seed that you give.
It could be your grandchildren standing up here with the folks that were brought in by this ministry and what Pastor Jim and Lori have done to establish the foundation for us.
And Pastor Tommy and Matthew, and I'm tearing up, so someone take over.
Amen.
That's true, Monomy.
You're listening to that dream center.
You moved me with that story because if it wasn't for that $100, I don't think I would be sitting here right now witnessing this moment.
If it wasn't for your obedience when you didn't have anything left, Pastor Jim would not have a place to be restored in 1997, 1998, got married, and we launched into the beginning of what you see now.
And I want to tell you something.
I want to encourage you right now: if the Lord's speaking to you to step out in faith and give $100 right now, do it right now.
Because the legacy that you will see, you may not see it right away, but I want to tell you something.
I am a product of your sowing of that seed out of obedience.
And I want to thank you for that because the Dream Center changed my life.
And then what came next was Pastor Jim came into my life and began to change my life through serving.
I didn't have anything left but servanthood.
And the reason I'm here is because out of obedience, you're able to serve the Lord in different ways, in different capacity.
And I want to ask you today: step out by faith out of obedience and stand with us with $100.
That right there, Theron, is a marker that you can't ignore when God says do it.
You got to move in that window.
Listen, call right now.
Yes.
1-888-988-1588 is the number to call.
And sow that seed in faith of $100 right now because the legacy of Christian television through this ministry has impacted the world.
Yes.
I mean, do we even comprehend what that means?
That we have impacted the world through this little place called Blue Eye, Missouri.
Some people say Missouri.
And you know what?
It's because your obedience today.
You know, my very first day here, my wife kind of tricked me into being here.
I had no idea who Jim Baker was.
It was just a name.
I was working for a Fortune 8 company and traveling all over Missouri and Arkansas and Canada.
Missouri.
Missouri.
And I took a layoff in the midst of the big boom of the crash of 2008.
So I needed something to do.
So she's like, why don't you come and volunteer here at Morningside?
So my very first day on the job, literally, I was in the restaurant and we had an ice storm.
The ice storm, it was so bad, it chandeliered like every tree out there was coated with ice.
Power lines were breaking.
The power went off.
And I was in the restaurant and we spent, I literally got locked in here for one solid week.
They said there's a condo upstairs.
You can sleep on the floor because we couldn't leave.
Remember the ice storm?
And that was my introduction to the ministry here at Morningside that we kept going when it was no power, no electricity.
And that week I remember a little 90-year-old lady, she dropped a $1,000 check, I believe, Miss Virginia on her.
God's Provision in Finances00:14:53
She didn't want to walk downstairs, so she threw it off her balcony.
She said, someone cuts the $1,000 check came down and it landed.
She threw it on her bedside.
And it became, that's what became one of the foundations for our director and his wife and my sons and many of you in this room to be able to be here through the school, through the house to save unwed mothers.
Every mission and project that we've had here has been about the gospel and actually turning the gospel into a real life practical way to meet the needs of people.
And we were cursed about saving unwed babies from abortion.
But we kept doing it.
And after all these years, the fruit of that giving, the fruit of the people given nonstop, it will keep going.
I know times are tight.
I know times have been tight, but I was looking at this scripture right here about sowing seed.
We talked a little bit about it, but you know, the seed has to be planted for it to take root and grow.
And maybe you got a talent and the Lord gave you a talent and you've hit it in your pocket because you're scared to do something or scared maybe you're going to need that little bit.
But really, if you plant it, and I know we have been faithful, I've watched us be faithful.
Despite when people said there's not enough money to do any of these things, Pastor Jim and Pastor Ricky has said, we're going to do it anyhow.
No Mondo stepped out on a show when there was zero money for his show to go and he said, I'm going to do it anyhow.
And he planted a seed.
And we've planted our staff.
I'm going to choke up, but I know our staff here at Morningside is still planting seeds.
And how much more so is our audience members and our partners out there that you're like, we found you when you went off a television station.
We looked for you and we're staying committed.
And it's because of every one of us in this PTL, this Philadelphia church that keeps planting the seed, expecting the Lord to bless it because he will hold this door open.
You know, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians chapter 9, and read it when you get a chance, but I want to just give you a little bit of what it says.
If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?
Even so, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.
There are a few of us that have given our entire lives to preach this gospel without compromise, absolutely.
But without compromise, meaning we have dedicated 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to do the work that you get to see at home for one hour or for 30 minutes.
We give up a lot of times with our family.
We have given up a lot of times in anniversaries.
We've given a lot of time for birthdays.
We give a lot of time away from family time so we can bring you this program even when we have to make a sacrifice along the way.
But that same sacrifice that you make financially, when we don't even see it, you decide to hear from God and say, I'm going to write a check for $20, $50, $100.
And then that's how you thank us to do what we're doing today.
Don't ever forget that what we do is our livelihood.
We've given everything.
Ricky and I looked at each other the other day and said, brother, we don't have anything else to go.
There's no backup plan.
There is no backup.
In Branson, nobody will hire us because they don't know where to fit us in because we are preachers of the gospel.
We are called to preach over television in a way that most people don't even understand it because it's not normal ministry.
But when God has put you in a place to bring not only a message that gets you prepared, help you interpret the times and the seasons, bring people to teach about healing, bring people to teach about deliverance, bring people to teach about prosperity and different things that we need to know about so we can be equipped.
It's what we do 24 hours a day.
We sleep on the problems, we wake up with the problems, but at the same time, there's a weird thing that takes place, gentlemen.
It's called peace.
I don't understand it.
It passes our own understanding.
I even told Ricky the other day during lunch, I don't understand why do I feel so much peace when I should be feeling so much fear because at the end of the day, our dependence doesn't come from you giving.
It comes from God touching you to give.
Can I make that clear?
We are not dependent on you giving.
We are dependent on God supplying the need.
That if God is a God that says, I am Jehovah Jireh, your provider, period.
It doesn't say if Theron over there in Missouri only gets attention and he can write the check, then I'll move on your behalf.
Yes.
That's right.
No, God says, I am the supplier of all of your needs.
Therefore, lean not on your own understanding.
You know, look at this right here.
This is, I'm looking at this.
You know what's in this cup?
Cardiomirac.
Cardiomiracle.
Not only are we spiritual, we actually bring on people that can help you.
And when I found, when I took Cardiomiracle for the first time, I met John Hewitt.
I ran out there to pick him up at the airport.
And I'm like, Mr. Hewitt, what is this product?
Because I didn't know about it.
And he started talking about it.
So I started taking it.
The next time I went to pick him up at the airport, I was like, is it normal for people to have way more energy?
Their brains start working better.
My wife's like, you're snoring less.
And I was, my brain, it was weird.
My brain kicked on.
I had all this extra energy.
I wasn't lethargic.
And I've been taking it for the last three years now, every morning.
And then I got my meds back.
You know, when you do your yearly checkup with the doctor.
So I got that back and I started looking at it and all my numbers had decreased to the right levels.
My cholesterol was high.
It went down.
My blood pressure was high.
It came down.
And then my triglycerides, I was like, that was the big one I was scared about.
It came down.
It was like 200 down from what it was.
So, I mean, we're not only spiritual up here talking, but we actually apply science and guests that can help you medically, guests that are telling you about government.
I often make the joke over time, and I probably shouldn't say it, but I unofficially have called this Morningside University, PTL University, because over the years we brought governors, generals, doctors, medicine, preachers, scientists showing us crazy like Carl Palmer.
Presidential candidates.
Presidential candidates.
That's right.
So something as simple as a product comes on.
That's where you can help invest in it as well.
But really where you make the most impact is like Mondo saying, where you're like, I'm going to give a big donation and that's going to help us fund the ministry.
And the product's like a lifeline.
Can I say this?
And our audience is here.
And you guys know people are afraid to raise money.
People are nervous to raise money.
Oh, man.
It's become a circus.
But I want to tell you something.
The number one thing that I've learned in the last 27 years is that if you don't ask, you won't receive.
That's right.
That's the bottom line.
People are scared.
I know people, mega ministries that don't know how to raise funds and they come here and they say, Pastor Jim, how do I do it?
How do I fund this vision?
How do I fund what God has called me to do?
And a lot of things that God wants to do on your behalf doesn't get done because you're afraid of raising the money.
But someone has to raise the money.
Someone has to say, I need help.
You know how hard it is to ask for help?
Yes.
Because your ego gets involved.
All the naysayers get involved.
But you know what?
I've learned one thing is to ask for help.
And today we need your help.
We do, man.
We really do.
If you can do $10,000 right now, call 1-888-988-1588.
If you can do $100, listen, step out of obedience and do it because the work of the Lord must continue to go forward.
Oh, how can you say that?
No, the work of the Lord means let's preach the gospel uncensored like never before.
That's right.
We are living in one of the most prophetic times.
And I believe, take time to listen to this.
Go to Proverbs chapter 20, 26, and you're going to understand what just took place with Venezuela.
Yes.
You don't have to like Donald Trump, but I have to go back to the Bible.
And the Bible says that God is going to use a just king to remove a dictator to stop oppressing the people.
But if you don't understand biblical prophecy, you're going to get lost in the swirl of politics and thinking that you're doing God a service.
Why don't you go back to the Bible and understand that what we're seeing right now is the red horse riding and it's about to get a little thick than before, meaning that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled, but very few people can bring a place together with men and women of God to help us interpret the gospel and interpret the times and the seasons so we can take that into prayer.
Amen.
Don't make it into a post on social media and steal it and think it's yours.
No, take it into prayer and say, God, what are you wanting me to do during this time?
If you need me to sow a seed, put me in the position to sow a seed.
Meaning, bless my business so I can bless the ministry.
Bless my family so we can bless the ministry.
Reposition your thinking.
Otherwise, you're going to get stuck in what dad used to call stinking thinking.
You know, if you complain, you remain.
If you whine, you stay behind.
Well, listen, right now, if God is asking you to write a $10,000 check, do it right now.
Or if God is asking you to do $100, $50, whatever amount it is, it's not even the amount that matters.
What matters at this moment is the moment of obedience.
But the truth is, is we're sitting here and we're not giving up because of you.
And we really do need a miracle to continue to make it go forward.
And if you don't give, the Lord will shut the door.
But I believe that God is going to keep this door open for an uncensored gospel until the very last trumpet sounds.
Amen.
It's when we decided, you know what, we're not going to compromise the word.
The stations say, you know, if you water down the message or stop talking about these issues, then we'll keep you on.
We'll do that.
But we said, you know what, let's just preach the whole word of God uncensored 100%.
And that's when people say, you know what, we're going to either close the door or turn our back on you.
But you know what?
We've learned who our true friends are.
And it's you guys at home.
It's those who continue to watch, continue to support, continue to say, you know what?
We want our children, our grandchildren, our nieces, our nephews to have a place where they can go, turn on the shows and say, we're not having to worry about a watered down message that's saying you can do whatever you want and live however you want and still make it to heaven.
Friends, we want conviction to go through this camera to pierce the hearts of those at homes and to hear Jesus is coming soon.
He's coming back for you as his bride.
Friends, support us today.
Call our number.
It's 1-888-988-1588.
Stand with us.
You can write to our P.O. box, but do something today.
And I promise you, friends, while there are trials, there are tribulations, there are hard times, the Lord still sits on that throne.
A little sneak peek, he never plans on moving from it.
And that's your father.
That's your friend.
That's your comforter.
That's your counselor.
That's Jesus Christ, the God the Father and the Holy Spirit who lives in us every single day.
Friends, God loves you.
Never forget that.
He really does.
Bye bye.
Amen.
Thank you, Pastor Fanfream.
Love you, Pastor.
Thank you for watching today's broadcast.
What you're watching right now is a miracle.
But I believe that this gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all the world, and that's what Christian television is all about.
Yes, yeah.
God has provided for this ministry time and time again.
And we know he will continue to provide because he is faithful.
Giving isn't about pressure.
It's an act of obedience.
Your gift is an act of trust, an act of faith.
Stand with us, please.
Amen.
I'm going to stand with you.
I'm going to teach you the end days in the days to come.
I'm going to teach you what to do and what's coming.
Amen.
The moment your mind shifts and you stop thinking about, okay, how do I get $10,000?
But instead, you start thinking, okay, how do I give $10,000?
Now you've turned the corner.
Now you're not just someone who sows.
Now you are a sower.
And that's who Jesus gives seed to.
And make no mistake about it in 2 Corinthians when he says he gives seed to the sower.
Paul is receiving an offering.
He's talking about finances in that moment.
I've never seen the righteous forsaken or a seed out begging for bread.
And I believe God wants to keep this program on the air.
