| Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| Our special guests today are Dr. Don and Mary Colbert. | |
| Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| And now here are your hosts, Pastor Jim and Lori Baker. | |
| Hello, everybody. | |
| Laurie. | |
| Hi there. | |
| It's the Jim Baker family show. | |
| Yes. | |
| Yes. | |
| Mondo is my bad boy. | |
| He's been with me 27 years. | |
| You sound like John Caruso. | |
| I just talked to him yesterday. | |
| They were asking about the two of you. | |
| Yeah, we haven't done that. | |
| And he said the same thing. | |
| We got married in his house. | |
| Beautiful wedding. | |
| Listen, we ought to put the wedding on the website where you can go view it. | |
| It was an incredible moment. | |
| And we were talking about that yesterday. | |
| Let's do a whole show by it. | |
| Let's do it. | |
| Let's do it because I think people need to understand what happened between the two of you. | |
| Archie Kendall, Pastor Tommy Barnett, Pastor Matthew Barnett, Pastor Lloyd Ziegler. | |
| I mean, it took about 20 preachers. | |
| No, I'm kidding. | |
| Took several preachers to really tie the knot, but to see the people there, Miss California was there. | |
| I mean, I can go down the list. | |
| I didn't know Miss California was there. | |
| One of the greatest gospel singers of all time. | |
| He knew Miss California was there. | |
| He knew every girl in California. | |
| Miss California and I stayed here for a little bit after that day. | |
| I should have been Mr. California, but it didn't work out. | |
| Oh, Don and Mary, it's so thrilled to have you this week. | |
| It's great to be here. | |
| I shouldn't say this, but you're my favorite guest. | |
| You really are. | |
| You bring healing, well, not to just me, but to my audience, to thousands of people. | |
| I really don't get the big head up, but I really think God's going to tell you, well done, how good and faithful. | |
| That's what I want to hear more than anything. | |
| And I want it too. | |
| Me too. | |
| Praise God. | |
| And I know God's blessed you, but I know that you have worked hard. | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| Mary has worked hard. | |
| Jim, you know, my husband, you know, he truly loves people. | |
| I mean, he truly loves people. | |
| I mean, I don't care how or he treats everybody the same. | |
| He loves everybody the same. | |
| And I have watched it through the years. | |
| I don't care if you're who's who or you're, I'm sorry, who, what's your name? | |
| He treats everybody with the same respect and honor because he truly loves people. | |
| And that is a gift. | |
| Yes. | |
| Because I can't say that. | |
| I'll tell you what. | |
| I want to ask you, Don. | |
| I can't say that. | |
| I'm trying to be quiet right now because I don't know. | |
| Have you ever had somebody really be mean to you? | |
| Oh, yes. | |
| We've had all kinds of mean patients over the years. | |
| Jealousy. | |
| Sure. | |
| Oh, the jealousy he brings from, you know, colleagues. | |
| Yes. | |
| They're jealous. | |
| They do it so viciously. | |
| Yes. | |
| But again, I don't meditate on that stuff. | |
| I just let it go. | |
| I built what people said was one of the biggest ministries in the world. | |
| I know. | |
| It was. | |
| Millions watched. | |
| It was. | |
| It's amazing what you built. | |
| It costs billions of dollars to build. | |
| I raised the money and worked hard to do it. | |
| 86 services because people say you live TV. | |
| They see everything. | |
| People say all you do is raise money. | |
| Well, if you've got billions of dollars of bills, you've got to pay them or they're going to come and repossess the farm. | |
| Have you ever met a bitter church person that really got bitter? | |
| Jim, I've seen so many bitter patients over the years. | |
| The reason they're sick is because they're bitter. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And bitterness invites disease into your body and the tormentors come in your body. | |
| And God warns us about that. | |
| And preachers don't really want to preach about that, but the Bible talks about it a whole lot. | |
| Oh, sure. | |
| And I want everybody to go to heaven. | |
| This division and the body of Christ that's going on has got to stop. | |
| It's got to stop. | |
| It has got to stop. | |
| We have got to unite. | |
| So we need to have a great revival all over the world. | |
| I agree. | |
| We do. | |
| We have a country that's been built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, and we've got to get back there. | |
| We've got to put Jesus back in authority over our lives. | |
| We have got to start teaching our young children the dangers of communism and socialism. | |
| Like when I was in school, I believe I was in the third grade. | |
| I learned about the dangers of communism. | |
| Now the kids are not taught any of that. | |
| They go to college and they're influenced by these leftist professors, like over 80% of the professors in most universities are far left. | |
| And in schools, they're godly. | |
| My teachers that even say, are you sure you're a boy? | |
| Are you sure you're a girl? | |
| And they put doubts in those kids. | |
| Well, little kids don't know what they're doing anyway. | |
| You know, you have to do it. | |
| For sure. | |
| For sure. | |
| And when they put these crazy ideas in their heads and confuse them, and then they can sway them to the demonic side. | |
| One of the things I want to see change is us supporting each other and not tearing each other down and criticizing. | |
| We all kind of have our own spin and view on maybe prosperity or healing or whatever that God is showing us and working with us. | |
| But we don't have, we shouldn't be criticizing people that may not see it just the way we see people. | |
| People that love Jesus ought to be united. | |
| They've got to be united. | |
| I have so much in my head that's explained 85 years. | |
| I've learned, I've been beaten. | |
| I've been, you know, they call me the comeback kid because I come back on it. | |
| I know. | |
| I don't. | |
| Jim, I talk about it. | |
| I don't lay down and die. | |
| I don't believe in it. | |
| I've been even coming back. | |
| Jim, I talk about your story. | |
| Two of your stories are in this book. | |
| One of the stories is when you were in prison and a great evangelist came and visited you by the name of Billy Graham. | |
| Yes, he did. | |
| And he literally, you experienced the love of God through Billy Graham while in prison. | |
| And then the other story was about an old friend of yours named Ro Meisner. | |
| Oh my God. | |
| And we saw him. | |
| Yeah, we saw Roe Meisner at the Sight and Sound Theater. | |
| And then all of a sudden I said, Jim, there's a man down there about 15 rows down. | |
| He's waving at you crazy. | |
| And so finally he came up and he was just so full of love. | |
| He was. | |
| He just adored you and he apologized and asked forgiveness. | |
| And it was such a married wife, right? | |
| Yeah, and that new wife. | |
| But it was so healing. | |
| It was so healing to see forgiveness in action. | |
| It was really powerful. | |
| And it's a great example of forgiveness that I wrote in this book because it touched our hearts. | |
| It did because we got in the car and you said, guys, I've just got to sit here for a moment. | |
| Y'all don't understand what just happened. | |
| That was so powerful. | |
| And we didn't fully understand that. | |
| But you go, y'all don't understand what just happened. | |
| He goes, God is doing such a work in my heart right now, and I just want him to keep doing it. | |
| I remember it was so beautiful the moment just to witness that. | |
| It was well, it reminds me of the people. | |
| If you get this book, this is a great book. | |
| It's Dr. Colbert's Spiritual Health Zone. | |
| Oh, I love that. | |
| Add joy, love, peace, and years. | |
| Years to your life. | |
| To your life. | |
| Because when you do this, we have evidence now that if you're walking in anger, unforgiveness, it's shortening your life. | |
| It is. | |
| And so, just like it says in Acts 24:16, he says, I exercise myself to have a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men. | |
| I picture it like when I go to the gym, I exercise, you know, I lift weights. | |
| We have to exercise ourselves to not have offense. | |
| When offense creeps in, a grudge, they did a study recently by Trust Pilot, and they interviewed 2,000 people. | |
| 69% of Americans hold a grudge or have strife or unforgiveness. | |
| Oh, I think it's terrible. | |
| No, that was the study. | |
| But when you choose to have a grudge or unforgiveness, you are shortening your life. | |
| And I talk about all what unforgiveness does. | |
| Unforgiveness invites into your body heart disease, cancer. | |
| It weakens our immune system, so we cannot have the immune surveillance to identify and destroy cancer cells with our natural killer cells. | |
| So it literally affects our immune system. | |
| It causes where inflammation starts to creep in and disease creeps into our body. | |
| It sets us up for anxiety, depression, chronic stress. | |
| It affects our sleep. | |
| And so, again, with unforgiveness, it literally lights the fuse of disease in our bodies, in our brains, in our kidneys. | |
| It starts to raise our blood pressure, starts to invite in heart disease, it starts to invite in autoimmune disease and almost every disease out there. | |
| So that's why it says in Hebrews 12:15, it says, Watch out lest any poisonous root of bitterness grow up to affect you. | |
| And what it will do, that poisonous root of bitterness will grow up, and literally it'll invite disease into your body. | |
| Doctor, how are we going to get that message to the church now? | |
| We have got to get this book. | |
| I explained it to them. | |
| I walked them through the love walk. | |
| This is the key. | |
| The Lord dealt with me a couple of years ago. | |
| And when I was listening to Kenneth Hagan one day on TV in the morning, he said, Love is the most important message in the body, but very few pastors are teaching about love. | |
| He says, God is love. | |
| In 1 John 4, John the Beloved wrote 1 John 4, verse 16, he says, God is love. | |
| And he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. | |
| He said, Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God. | |
| And everyone that love us is born of God and knows God. | |
| I hope everyone knows not God, for God is love. | |
| So this is teaching people how to love, how to practice gratitude, how to practice forgiveness and walking in forgiveness, and how to use that prayer of Ephesians 4:32 to break that unforgiveness and literally invite forgiveness into the heart, not the head, but into the heart. | |
| It works. | |
| It works. | |
|
Brain Health Zones
00:15:34
|
|
| Amen. | |
| Wants you to get this book, Spiritual Health Zone. | |
| Oh my God, this is amazing. | |
| Brilliant. | |
| I think I've read almost all your books, and they are terrific. | |
| I have a huge library. | |
| Of just Dr. Colbert's books. | |
| Yes. | |
| This is an easy read, too. | |
| It is easy. | |
| It's not real thick. | |
| That's good. | |
| That's the best part. | |
| That's good. | |
| Go online. | |
| All of his books are on our website. | |
| I'm going to be reading this all night. | |
| You can see them there. | |
| Well, read it slow because there's some deep stuff in there, too. | |
| I highlight it. | |
| You got to heal. | |
| You got to soak in the word. | |
| The new one on the line. | |
| So get that. | |
| And also be sure to order NAD. | |
| NAD. | |
| Amen. | |
| But anyway, this is an amazing product that promotes and supports healthy aging. | |
| And everybody that's over 50, I think, needs it. | |
| I would start if I could when I was 20. | |
| 30s, 40s, everyone. | |
| Anybody, raise your hand if you're over 50. | |
| Come on, don't lie at me. | |
| I think anyone is 4050. | |
| Oh, Mondo, you know you're over. | |
| But Mondo's almost over 50. | |
| I'm not over 50. | |
| I don't feel over 50, you say, right? | |
| No. | |
| What NAD does is it supports healthy mitochondria. | |
| And what is mitochondria? | |
| Every cell in the body has mitochondria. | |
| They're little energy factories in every cell. | |
| Certain cells have more than any others, like the heart. | |
| It never stops working. | |
| So it has more mitochondria than any tissue in the body, except for the brain. | |
| The brain's got a tremendous amount of mitochondria because it never stops functioning. | |
| Thank goodness. | |
| And then also, all the organs of the body have mitochondria. | |
| The muscles have mitochondria. | |
| But as we age, our mitochondria become dysfunctional. | |
| Many of them literally degenerate. | |
| And so the NAD helps to restore and repair the mitochondria so they can function in producing energy in the form of ATP. | |
| See, caffeine may give you some energy, but it doesn't restore energy. | |
| It gives you short-term energy, but then you feel more fatigue. | |
| You do. | |
| But this NAD literally restores mitochondria throughout your whole body and helps to, again, just promote healthy aging and healthy energy in the body. | |
| But we're in the last days. | |
| And, doctor, you have a new product. | |
| I don't know how new it is. | |
| Well, no, we've had these products. | |
| These are our brain zone products. | |
| You take the brain zone every day. | |
| Brain has that helps the brain focus. | |
| There's focus. | |
| The only thing I need to help with is my brain. | |
| Everybody needs help. | |
| Well, everyone needs help with the brain. | |
| And again, that's why we have these products that give you support for the brain. | |
| Number one, I say, is the basic brain zone basic. | |
| It has the basic key nutrients you need to lower homocysteine levels. | |
| Homocysteine is a toxic amino acid that accumulates in all of our brains and triggers Alzheimer's. | |
| Oh, and so high homocysteine is associated with beta amyloid and Alzheimer's disease. | |
| Now, unfortunately, most doctors don't check homocysteine levels. | |
| I check it on every one of my patients. | |
| Yes. | |
| And if it's high, your brain is forming homocysteine, excuse me, it's forming beta amyloid, which is causing your brain to contract and literally cause more plaque formation in your brain. | |
| So you want to get your homocysteine level preferably down below 10. | |
| Now, so many people, the normals in labs is still 15 in most labs. | |
| So if your homocysteine level is 15, you're forming beta amyloid in your body. | |
| And for every five milligram of increase of homocysteine, much more beta-amyloid is being deposited in your brain. | |
| And so studies have shown that when you do have high homocysteine levels, it's associated with brain degeneration. | |
| So we want to get our homocysteine levels down. | |
| And what does it is the brain zone basic? | |
| Here's the basic. | |
| It contains the active form of the B vitamins, especially the 5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, as well as the methylcobalamin. | |
| It has pyridoxyl 5-phosphate. | |
| It also contains trimethylglycine that lowers homocysteine. | |
| And it has the active form of curcumin that helps to get rid of the beta-amyloid. | |
| So when you take this, most people will need two a day. | |
| I personally take two in the morning, two in the evening, because I used to have high homocysteine levels. | |
| Now mine are normal. | |
| And so I have a family history. | |
| Two times a day. | |
| Well, you can take up to two, two times a day if you need it. | |
| But if your homocysteine level is less than 10, you only need two a day. | |
| Yes, I check homocysteine on everyone. | |
| I do. | |
| And as long as your homocysteine is 10 or below, you're fine. | |
| Now, the next one is patients. | |
| So for most everyone, if you want to prevent brain problems and memory issues, take the brain zone basic. | |
| That's the main one I think. | |
| None of us want dementia or Alzheimer's. | |
| I agree. | |
| I mean, I'm doing, we're doing like, you know, with so many people that we go see, and they don't know us anymore. | |
| I mean, right. | |
| And so this is. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Well, again, doctors. | |
| Family members. | |
| That's why I did a series recently, know your numbers. | |
| And there are these numbers that we need to know. | |
| And one of them is our homocysteine number. | |
| And I check these on all my patients. | |
| So we need to know our homocysteine numbers. | |
| And unfortunately, most doctors don't check it. | |
| My sister went to her doctor, and he knew nothing about it. | |
| Yeah, we went into the studio, and we're teaching right now these 12 talking points about your different numbers. | |
| Live long, live strong. | |
| Do you know your numbers? | |
| So one of our numbers. | |
| One of our numbers is we ask our doctor. | |
| Right. | |
| Hemoglobin A1C is important. | |
| Of course, for dietary. | |
| Your lipid panel. | |
| Our limit, yes. | |
| Your HSC reactive protein, the waste measurement, and your weight measurement is real important. | |
| Your blood pressure, real important, as well as your testosterone level, your active form of thyroid, which is your free T3, the liver functions, because, you know, one quarter of Americans have fatty liver, and they're going toward, you know, fatty liver, which is one of the most common causes of cirrhosis of the liver. | |
| You also need to know your kidney numbers and know your estimated GFR, bilomarial filtration rate. | |
| And so again, we go through these 12 numbers that everyone needs to know. | |
| Those are some of the key ones. | |
| But going back to the brain, another important supplement, if you're having memory problems, we need to, generally, we put our patients on the brain zone advanced. | |
| Start with two a day. | |
| Some people, if they're not getting better, need two twice a day. | |
| This has some powerful nutrients that boost nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which is similar to miracle growth for the brain and includes a lion's mane mushroom, which is a powerful mushroom that helps the brain, as well as 7-8-dihydroxyflavone that helps to boost brain-derived neurotrophic factor, as well as it contains cytokoline that helps to repair the synapses in the brain. | |
| And so I have wonderful nutrients that help give the brain support. | |
| And especially for those that are losing memory, they need both the brain zone basic and the brain zone advanced. | |
| And so, again, usually. | |
| And so, what's this? | |
| And then last is focus. | |
| A lot of people just don't have the focus. | |
| They walk into a room and they think, why am I here? | |
| Do you know? | |
| And they forget things. | |
| Well, of course. | |
| That's kind of normal. | |
| Will this help menopausal women? | |
| You know, when we forget things. | |
| Oh, yes. | |
| Now, let me explain some menopausal women. | |
| Women's brains run on estrogen. | |
| Right. | |
| And when you deprive them of estrin after 52, when most women are through menopause, their brain shuts off. | |
| That's it. | |
| They can no longer multitask. | |
| Nope. | |
| Not like that. | |
| So we put these women on biodiversity. | |
| Yep. | |
| Estradiol, little testosterone, boom. | |
| Their brain turns on. | |
| It turns around. | |
| And it's amazing. | |
| I don't know that. | |
| I don't know what to do from Alzheimer's. | |
| I think Laurie takes the pellets. | |
| That's why she's going to be able to do that. | |
| Oh, it protects her brain from Alzheimer's. | |
| Yeah, my doctor said, Laurie, I've taken him 18 years. | |
| He said, you are a living example of what. | |
| That's exactly right. | |
| It protects your brain. | |
| That's one of the best things you can do for your brain is taking those hormones. | |
| Amazing for the brain. | |
| Now, what the focus is. | |
| Laura's actually 17 years old, right? | |
| Really? | |
| I mean, she's mentally and physically sharp. | |
| Well, what this brain zone focus has, it has nutrients that help you focus. | |
| It has N-acetyl tyrosine. | |
| That's an amino acid that helps you focus. | |
| It has D-ribose. | |
| It has alpha-GPC that also is in focus, as well as green tea. | |
| Okay, if somebody comes to you with the book. | |
| It explains everything. | |
| Yeah, brainzone focus explains each product. | |
| And so it's a really, the book. | |
| Can somebody that has dementia to some degree, can they get help? | |
| Oh, absolutely. | |
| Well, Jim, we have helped so many people with mild and moderate dementia. | |
| Once you have severe dementia, there's not much we can do at all. | |
| There's not much we can do. | |
| That's why it's so important. | |
| If you're having memory loss, be checked. | |
| I do the MOCA test, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Exam for my patients. | |
| I get a reading of where they're at. | |
| If they have early dementia or mild dementia or moderate or severe. | |
| With severe, there's not much we can do, guys. | |
| That's why it's so critical every day that you're not being treated or not being diagnosed or not on the right program because it takes the right diet. | |
| The right diet for Alzheimer's is my Beyond Keto book. | |
| That should have been titled The Alzheimer's Prevention or Reversal Diet. | |
| Because it literally gives you the fuel you need for your brain. | |
| If you're diabetic, your brain is racing toward dementia. | |
| I can't tell you how many patients I have seen come in the office with their family and their loved one is in the mild or moderate. | |
| Is our book on our website? | |
| Yes, it is. | |
| Yes. | |
| Beyond Keto. | |
| Extremely important. | |
| Put it up. | |
| The family cannot believe six months, eight months later, they're watching their parent on home video. | |
| They're feeding, they're cooking, they're cleaning. | |
| At home by themselves. | |
| By themselves. | |
| And then we get ready to put them in nursing haze. | |
| And they come back and they go. | |
| It is. | |
| They couldn't believe it. | |
| They come to him and they go, I hear it all the time. | |
| Dr. Colbert, thank you so much. | |
| You saved my parent. | |
| You saved my mother. | |
| This is a subject we should have taken a couple hours to talk on. | |
| Yeah, because the brain is important. | |
| In the world, this is a epidemic. | |
| Well, my sister is about 90 years old. | |
| She's 90. | |
| Is she 90? | |
| Yeah. | |
| And she has dementia and she's in a nursing home. | |
| Oh, bless her heart. | |
| And that's the only baker that's left alive. | |
| I mean, the one that's from the family. | |
| Right. | |
| And I love her so much. | |
| But you know, she can still play the piano. | |
| Well, praise God. | |
| So see what you do. | |
| She'll sing along. | |
| And remember the hams from back in the day. | |
| Well, you feed that. | |
| Have her do that every day. | |
| Yeah, they do it. | |
| That's great. | |
| And she's really looking good right now. | |
| But she doesn't. | |
| Yeah, but there's basic things you can do. | |
| Don't wait until you don't remember anyone's name before you go get checked. | |
| That's sad. | |
| That's what I see so many times. | |
| Biodentical hormones, one of the most powerful things you can do for your brain. | |
| Yes. | |
| When you take these, especially women, estradiol pellets with testosterone pellets. | |
| That is brain-derived neurotrophic factor, miracle growth of the brain. | |
| Combine that with a Beyond Keto diet or my healthy Mediterranean diet, which are both in my book, Beyond Keto. | |
| Eat the way you tell us. | |
| Real important. | |
| Good dollars of advice from a doctor. | |
| Yeah. | |
| This doctor. | |
| Right. | |
| And not every doctor just gives it out. | |
| So. | |
| Well, exercise is critical for the brain, especially aerobic exercise, but also weightlifting. | |
| But aerobic exercise, walking five days a week, 15, 20 minutes. | |
| You are boosting brain-derived neurotrophic factor. | |
| You're stacking healing modalities on top of one another. | |
| You're walking. | |
| It helps your brain. | |
| Yes. | |
| You want to get your heart rate up to about 110 to 120. | |
| If you're older, if you're younger, you may want to get up to 130. | |
| But again, as you do that, your brain is regenerating. | |
| You are regenerating your brain. | |
| Get the simple things, guys. | |
| It's not a good idea. | |
| This is quite a package. | |
| And I love this book. | |
| We have it at home. | |
| I've read it, highlighted it. | |
| But I think I'm going to get it out again. | |
| Anyway, reverse memory loss and reduce your risk of dementia and Alzheimer's. | |
| Amen. | |
| You could never, ever, ever write, put that and claim that in a book if it wasn't the real thing. | |
| We see it all the time. | |
| And don't forget the NAD to support healthy aging. | |
| Real important. | |
| Our testimony. | |
| We've got the patient testimony. | |
| I want to thank you for coming by. | |
| Thank you, Jim. | |
| Thank you. | |
