Effectual Fervent Prayer
00:09:56
|
|
| Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| Our special guest today is Apostle John Eckhart. | |
| Our co-hosts today are Pastor Ricky Baker and Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| And now, here is your host, Pastor Jim Baker. | |
| That lady up there just gave me a word that they've been praying about. | |
| I think she told me you were, what are you, 70 years old? | |
| 76. | |
| Yeah, 76. | |
| Oh, 76 trombones. | |
| But she's, but she said everything that Apostle John said in his prophecy. | |
| The church is really. | |
| He said that was what we've been praying about. | |
| That's right, lined right up. | |
| Wow. | |
| Wow. | |
| I want to play that again sometime. | |
| Amen. | |
| John, are you there yet? | |
| Yes, I'm here. | |
| Hi. | |
| Can I call you, John? | |
| I don't want to. | |
| Yes, sir. | |
| Please do. | |
| I don't want to diminish you, but I'm an old man. | |
| No, not at all. | |
| I have hoary hair, but if all little I have. | |
| But the Bible says, respect the hoarhead, and that means the old people. | |
| Do you have any old people in your church? | |
| Yes, I do. | |
| I've had some members that have been there 30 and 40 years. | |
| Well, you know, sometimes old people get crabby, but they need help. | |
| They need to be loved. | |
| They need God to give them strength. | |
| Amen. | |
| Don't you need that, John? | |
| Yes, sir. | |
| There's a lot of old people watch Christian television. | |
| And that's a word that I had just before I came on the broadcast. | |
| You mentioned it, and it's from Psalm 27. | |
| The Lord is my light and my salvation. | |
| Whom shall I fear? | |
| The Lord is the strength of my life. | |
| Of whom shall I be afraid? | |
| You have to have God's strength. | |
| We have to depend on God's strength. | |
| The things we cannot do in our own strength, it's going to take God's strength. | |
| And so, Jim, I speak strength over you today. | |
| Strengthen your body, your mind. | |
| Strengthen your ministry. | |
| Strengthen those that are with you. | |
| May you tap into the Lord's supernatural strength. | |
| The Lord is the strength of my life is a confession I make almost every day. | |
| God, you're the strength of my life. | |
| You mentioned that just now, that older people need strength. | |
| They do. | |
| They need God's strength. | |
| John, I wonder, I'm sorry, I got a 30-minute show, so I have to ask some questions. | |
| I want to get into them. | |
| What do you, what's the danger of comfortable praying? | |
| This is important. | |
| This question, you know, but I want to have the answer for the people. | |
| When we really need desperate faith, do you understand desperate faith, you people here? | |
| Amen. | |
| Preacher in if you understand it. | |
| That means if you even pray out loud sometimes, Ricky. | |
| But you can pray out loud. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| It's absolutely necessary. | |
| But this book, Prayer That Breaks Curses, this question really hits me. | |
| Yeah, we should let them really dive into it. | |
| What's the danger, John, of comfortable praying? | |
| You know what I mean? | |
| Yes, sir. | |
| That's just a lot of churches just have forms of prayer and things like that. | |
| When we really need desperate faith, can comfort, hold on, hold this question, John, can comfort be a spiritual trap? | |
| Yes, it can. | |
| becoming too comfortable, becoming apathetic, becoming slowful, becoming lazy, even in prayer. | |
| The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availed much. | |
| There was a book written years ago called Prayers That Avail Much. | |
| What are the prayers that avail? | |
| Well, it's the effectual fervent prayer. | |
| In the book of Acts, when the church was facing persecution in Acts chapter 4, they gathered together and the scripture says they lifted up their voice. | |
| They prayed loudly and they prayed and then God answered and the building shook where they were praying. | |
| And they were in such a troublesome situation with persecution, death surrounding them that the scripture says they lifted up their voice in prayer. | |
| When you're experiencing something dangerous or something deadly or something that can hurt you and harm you, it's called an alarm. | |
| You set an alarm. | |
| There are times you do have to pray loudly and cry out to God, especially in desperate times. | |
| And so that is scriptural. | |
| They pray with a loud voice. | |
| They lift up their voice. | |
| The building actually shook. | |
| You know, when was the last time we've been in a prayer meeting where the building shook? | |
| That's in the book of Acts, but it's the effectual fervent prayer. | |
| Fervent means white hot prayer. | |
| It means prayer that is on fire. | |
| It means prayer that is full of zeal and passion. | |
| That is the kind of prayer that really does get God's attention. | |
| And you can expect supernatural results from that kind of praying. | |
| Those prayers avail much. | |
| That is scriptural. | |
| It is biblical. | |
| And it's something we need to walk in. | |
| Amen. | |
| This book gives all the tools people need to overcome crisis and carry us to a new level of prayer to everyday life, not just in emergencies. | |
| This book's called Prayers That Break Curses. | |
| That's right. | |
| Yeah. | |
| I think the numbers are all on the screen, so I don't have to say it again, but I want you to get your books. | |
| This could be the thing that will change your life. | |
| That's right. | |
| You need to pray fervent prayers. | |
| I want to ask the apostle a question. | |
| You know, it says prayers that break curses. | |
| Apostle, how many people do you think are living under curses? | |
| They don't even realize it. | |
| They just think, oh, this is just what, you know, the life, the hand that life has dealt to me. | |
| This is just what I've been given by God. | |
| You know, they don't even realize that they're maybe living under a curse. | |
| Yes, you know, the two things, two opposite things in scripture, blessing or curse. | |
| Everyone wants to live under the blessing, and we should. | |
| But there's an opposite spiritual condition called curse. | |
| And sometimes people are finding something invisible that prevents them from really walking in the blessing of God. | |
| And the scripture says the curse causing it shall not come. | |
| There is a cause behind a curse. | |
| A curse is something that's evil, something resisting you. | |
| And there are quite a number of people that do need deliverance and they need freedom from invisible things, demons, spirits that are really hindering them and preventing them. | |
| They can be curses on your finances, curses moving against your family, your ministry. | |
| There are spoken curses. | |
| There are word curses, death and life from the power of the tongue. | |
| People are living under spoken curses. | |
| They're even what we call self-inflicted curses, where people have said things out of their own mouth that releases death. | |
| And other people speak evil over people. | |
| No wonder the scripture says that every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you'll condemn. | |
| There are things we need to pull down and condemn. | |
| So yes, curses are real and they can be broken. | |
| And when you're delivered from that, you can walk in the blessing of God. | |
| And so there are many people that they know they're struggling against something. | |
| They can't figure it out. | |
| No matter what they do, they can't seem to break through. | |
| Sometimes it is something invisible that can't be seen with the natural eye. | |
| But by the power of God and the name of Jesus and the authority of heaven, those things can be broken and eliminated from your life. | |
| You know, many Christians, and I'm going over a point you've already made, but I want to double on it. | |
| Many Christians believe that because they're saved, you know this, Ricky. | |
| Yes. | |
| They can't be affected by a curse. | |
| They can't be affected by any problems with them. | |
| They're supposed to say, hallelujah, I'm great. | |
| But they are under a curse. | |
| How would you respond to that belief? | |
| Well, you know, the scripture says, it talked to believers in the book of Ephesians. | |
| It says, neither give place to the devil. | |
| So he's talking to spirit-filled believers. | |
| You can open the door and give place to the enemy in your life. | |
| Things like unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, again, words that you're speaking. | |
| These things can be open doors for the enemy to come in. | |
| And even though you are a believer, you can give place. | |
| The scripture says, be angry and sin not, neither give place to the devil. | |
| So anger can open the door for something to come and afflict your life. | |
| So there are things that we need to avoid as believers, whether it's anger, whether it's the occult, whether it's unforgiveness, whether it's bitterness, even doubt and unbelief. | |
| These things are important to avoid. | |
| And the scripture says, take the shield of faith, wherewith you may be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. | |
|
Noumana: Faithful Food Storage
00:02:52
|
|
| So it does take faith. | |
| And sometimes people are not walking in faith. | |
| They're not living in faith. | |
| They're not taking the shield of faith. | |
| They're not stopping the fiery darts of the enemy. | |
| The scripture says put on the whole armor of God. | |
| And so you wouldn't need armor if you were not susceptible to attack. | |
| Ephesians 6. | |
| So if you're not walking in your armor, if you're not walking in your protection, you can be susceptible to attack, even though you are a believer. | |
| Amen. | |

| Some Christians are fighting things and they've had things come down through their bloodline. | |
| I know you're right about this. | |
| Do you understand that, Mondo? | |
| Oh, absolutely. | |
| There's a lot of people. | |
|
Spiritual Inheritance
00:15:49
|
|
| Yeah. | |
| A lot of parents have actually passed down some bad stuff to their kids. | |
| They didn't mean to, but they did. | |
| But do you understand what I'm saying, John? | |
| Yes, sir. | |
| It's one of the things we teach on in deliverance. | |
| You know, it's amazing when you go to a doctor and you get an exam, one of the first things they ask you is, do you have this problem in your family? | |
| Did your mother, your father have diabetes or blood pressure problems or heart problems? | |
| Because they know even physically that things can be passed down through the bloodline. | |
| Doctors know that. | |
| Same thing applies spiritually. | |
| There are a lot of people, there are spirits that are called familiar spirits that are familiar with you, your family, your generations from the past, and they will attempt to go from generation to generation to generation. | |
| Sometimes the same problems in a family spiritually can show up again in a person's life. | |
| And it's our wisdom and it's our responsibility to stop these things, to break them, to stand against them, to rebuke them, to make sure they were walking in the full provision of deliverance and be free. | |
| Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. | |
| So we can be free from it, but sometimes you need to be aware of it. | |
| Don't be paranoid or fearful, but do be aware that these things are real and deal with them with the authority of Christ. | |
| And you can see major breakthroughs and major deliverances in your life. | |
| That book, Prayers That Route Demons, those prayer books have sold over a million copies. | |
| They've gone around the world and people have received deliverance just by praying those particular prayers. | |
| That book, Prayers That Route Demons, is a bestseller. | |
| Many people have read it. | |
| They're prayers of self-deliverance, healing against all kinds of spirits. | |
| And so sometimes using your authority and exercising your faith can be a key to your breakthrough. | |
| I want you to talk about, and this is a subject that I'm reading the book. | |
| I think the greatest book Bishop and I have ever written, and he's not Bishop Ron Webb. | |
| What role does forgiveness play in breaking curses, especially those things from a family or from or whatever? | |
| Well, forgiveness is essential. | |
| In Matthew 18, it says that if you don't forgive, you'll be turned over to the tormentors. | |
| And tormentors can represent tormenting spirits that harass, vex your life. | |
| And so bitterness is a major problem. | |
| In Exodus chapter 15, God revealed himself as the healer at the bitter waters of Mara. | |
| He said, I'm the Lord that healeth thee, Jehovah Rapha. | |
| So sometimes all of us have gone through things in our life, bitter experiences, bitter tests, bitter trials, trauma, things that have happened to us that we have to release from our lives through forgiveness in order to be healed, not just physically, but spiritually as well, to be restored. | |
| And so unforgiveness is necessary. | |
| As you're forgiven by God, you forgive others. | |
| That releases you from the power of a lot of spirits that are connected to unforgiveness and bitterness. | |
| Apostle John, I think that's the most important message of the hour. | |
| I think millions of church people are just mad at each other because they got offended or something. | |
| But just throw it up to Jesus. | |
| The Bible says, cast all your cares and you'll be free. | |
| Amen. | |
| And you're not going to be judged for it, but you're going to, the Bible says you'll not be forgiven if you don't forgive. | |
| So I want you to get this book. | |
| I mean, this is sold, I guess, millions of copies already. | |
| Prayers that route demons. | |
| That's right. | |
| All three books. | |
| If you've got the time and the money, and part of this helps the ministry because that's how we stay on the air. | |
| But Prayers That Break Curses is his other book. | |
| And then he's got this book, Desperate Prayers. | |
| I love this book. | |
| Desperate Prayers for Desperate Times. | |
| And this is the book for now. | |
| All these books are. | |
| You need them. | |
| Oh, people. | |
| Just forgive and let God take it over. | |
| Amen. | |
| If people hurt you, just forgive. | |
| You understand, Mondo? | |
| Listen. | |
| Has anybody ever hurt you? | |
| Oh, my goodness. | |
| The day I was born, my mother cursed me in her womb. | |
| Oh. | |
| Rejection. | |
| So you talk about trauma from the past. | |
| You talk about bloodlines. | |
| You know, I spoke to a lady, 92 years old, and she said, I still struggle with unforgiveness, 92 years old. | |
| And she said, I want to thank you for the program that you guys deal with unforgiveness because I want to be forgiven and I want to know that I want to go to heaven. | |
| This is a 92-year-old lady dealing with unforgiveness of the trauma of the past, what she went through, sexual abuse and rape and wanting to forgive, but yet the ability to get there, it takes a lot of pressure to get there. | |
| But I want to tell you something. | |
| The power of what we're talking about today of forgiveness can help you get there. | |
| And matter of fact, Apostle, can you pray for those people watching right now? | |
| Yes. | |
| For unforgiveness to be released and for them to experience the fullness of the power of the Holy Spirit. | |
| Amen. | |
| Yes. | |
| I'll be honored. | |
| I want to say, even if you don't feel like doing it, I want you to do this by faith. | |
| I want you to believe, just as you believe that God will forgive you, I want you to believe that you can forgive others. | |
| And so just pray with me. | |
| Heavenly Father, I release and forgive any person that has ever hurt me, abandoned me, rejected me, taken advantage of me, mistreated me in any way. | |
| I release all unforgiveness. | |
| I release all bitterness. | |
| I release the root of bitterness. | |
| I release them, Lord. | |
| And I pray that you'll release me from the spirits of bitterness, unforgiveness, and spirits of revenge, retaliation, hurt, trauma. | |
| Lord, I thank you for setting me free. | |
| And from any spirit that's connected to my life through unforgiveness, let it go. | |
| Let it leave and let me be delivered and let me be forgiven in Jesus' name. | |
| Amen. | |
| Amen. | |
| That's Apostle John Eckhart. | |
| This is my first time with him, and I know Ricky's heard him before, but he's, I love you. | |
| I love you. | |
| I like it because you preach the gospel. | |
| You're preaching and you're setting me free today. | |
| I needed you bad. | |
| I want you to get his books, please, people. | |
| Call. | |
| I don't promote books of flesh. | |
| I don't believe in them. | |
| I will just say, no, I'm not going to talk about that. | |
| But these are the books you need. | |
| This is written by a man of God. | |
| How many years, Ricky? | |
| How old is it? | |
| How many years has he even been praying for? | |
| He's been doing ministry for over 40 years. | |
| Well, he's a true prophet. | |
| He said stuff today that is prophecy, but we need for the hour. | |
| I want you to get this book, Desperate Prayers for Desperate Times. | |
| If you can't afford them, you get one. | |
| But next week, get some more. | |
| They're online on our website. | |
| And you go to the charisma media products. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| And so all three, he's written a lot more books, but these are the three newest ones. | |
| So you can get these books. | |
| And breaking the curse. | |
| The prayer that breaks the curses. | |
| Order them today. | |
| Call the number, 1-888-988-1588, or go to the website, jimbakerschult.com. | |
| Amen. | |
| Oh, I want to thank you, Apostle John Elkhart. | |
| I would like to come to see you someday. | |
| And I want to see your ministry. | |
| I just want to be with you and sit in your house and talk to you for a while because I love you. | |
| I love you already. | |
| I love you because of your word. | |
| I love you because you love God. | |
| And we need you in this last day. | |
| This is the message for the hour. | |
| If you want to get set free, you need to pray desperate prayers. | |
| We need desperate prayers for this ministry. | |
| And some of my prayer wars need to pray now. | |
| The devil wants to destroy this. | |
| I've had so many attempts to destroy me over the years. | |
| And God always brings me back. | |
| I'm sorry. | |
| You don't. | |
| Somebody called me to come back, kid. | |
| I don't know what that meant, but I want you to never give up. | |
| Amen. | |
| Amen. | |
| And I want you to stand with this ministry. | |
| And I'm going to be here for a little while. | |
| Praise God. | |
| You are a reflection of restoration. | |
| You are what God wants his church to be, a restorer. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| What the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good. | |
| And things have come along the way, but we're here. | |
| You're still here. | |
| God has a mission for you. | |
| God has a mission for Ricky, for you watching right now. | |
| And how do you get involved? | |
| I'm glad you asked. | |
| You can call the number to stand with us, become a partner of this ministry. | |
| Or if this season, in this month, you want to stand with us and give your first fruits offering, do it today. | |
| It's so biblical. | |
| It will unlock so much throughout the Bible. | |
| You know, sowing is connected to God's word and his promises. | |
| He is still faithful yesterday. | |
| He is faithful today. | |
| And he's going to continue to be faithful right now. | |
| Call the number, 1-888-988-1588, and say, Jim Baker, count me in this month. | |
| I want to see a miracle take place more now than ever before. | |
| And prepare yourself and get the books. | |
| When you call and you want to sow a seed, I want you to get one of these books because I want to tell you something. | |
| This one right here really touched my heart. | |
| Desperate prayers. | |
| I have prayed desperate prayers. | |
| I have asked the Lord, and we are still doing it today for this program to continue to go forward so we can come into your home and bring you the good news, talk about prophecy and what's happening right now. | |
| Revelation is taking place. | |
| Listen, I saw a prayer here that says pray for revelation. | |
| Amen. | |
| We got to pray for revelation in this season. | |
| You're right when you say it's taking place now. | |
| And that's why I want to come back on television for a little while. | |
| I came out of bed to go back here because I want to talk about revelation. | |
| That's the days we're going to do. | |
| Because revelation is the word of what's going to happen. | |
| And it's happening now. | |
| And I told you this month, we've had 500 earthquakes in the first week. | |
| Diverse places. | |
| And you just had an earthquake. | |
| You're good about earthquakes. | |
| Yeah. | |
| 8.8 was the one they just had. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Big earthquake. | |
| Big earthquake. | |
| And I prophesied it nine-point years ago. | |
| And what happened? | |
| It happened. | |
| It happened. | |
| I've been a 9.00%. | |
| That said it didn't happen. | |
| And then connected to volcanoes and the famines. | |
| I mean, we're seeing Matthew 24 really right before our eyes, but we got to study the word. | |
| What does the word have to say about what's happening right now? | |
| Because I want to tell you something. | |
| The key is in the word. | |
| And once you get the word, let's go to prayer and let's ask God for revelation. | |
| We're in the last days and God wants to be with you. | |
| God wants to carry us through the last days. | |
| That's right. | |
| He wants to help us and protect us. | |
| Amen. | |
| He wants to bring us to heaven. | |
| And I'm going to teach revelation to you only deeper than I ever did before because I've been studying again. | |
| And boy, we are in the revelation days. | |
| But the trial of your faith, faith, and you're going through it. | |
| If you're not going through it, you're a sinner probably. | |
| But the trial of your faith being more precious than of gold. | |
| That's what the Bible says. | |
| Amen. | |
| So God wants to turn it into gold. | |
| God wants you to not give up and to forgive everyone. | |
| And just don't take it on yourself. | |
| Just forgive them all. | |
| And he said, I'll forgive you. | |
| I'm sounding like a broken record, but that's. | |
| Art Dikendo said, Total forgiveness. | |
| Yes. | |
| From your heart. | |
| He's the first one I heard that real. | |
| I'm glad you're going to begin. | |
| I remember he said, Jim, let's invite him back now, Peter. | |
| People from your heart. | |
| Total forgiveness. | |
| Amen. | |
| He's still a good man. | |
| I mean, he's still alive. | |
| He's still preaching. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And that's the kind of people I'm going to bring on the show with Ricky. | |
| We're going to bring on the old people. | |
| We're going to bring on the new people. | |
| Amen. | |
| I mean, John Eckhart, for me, he's new, but he's old. | |
| But I mean, he's still, he's a mature man. | |
| And you know what? | |
| I know we have to go, but he is equipping the next generation of prophets. | |
| This is what I love about it. | |
| He's equipping the next generation. | |
| If we don't do it, we don't make it. | |
| He's given us wisdom to survive. | |
| Well, I want some people to say, I'll give you $10 a month. | |
| That's what we started with. | |
| And I'll give you $100 a month. | |
| I'll give you some money, whatever I can do. | |
| I've never seen the righteous forsaken or a seed out begging for bread. | |
| That's right. | |
| And God's brought me through. | |
| He brought me through prisons, brought me through it all. | |
| I've learned to trust in Jesus. | |
| I've learned to trust in God. | |
| And I want you to trust in God. | |
| I want you to go to heaven. | |
| Don't let some person that hurt you send you to hell. | |
| Just forgive them. | |
| Amen. | |
| Amen. | |
| I mean, people that really hurt me and really helped destroy me. | |
| Famous people. | |
| And sometimes their picture appears in the newspapers. | |
| Amen. | |
| And I see it. | |
| And I start to get upset again. | |
| And you know what? | |
| I have to immediately say, oh, just forgive him. | |
| Just forget it. | |
| I'm free. | |
| Amen. | |
| I want you to be free. | |
