A Friend for Adversity
00:07:56
|
|
| Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| Today, Pastor Troy Brewer explains the intersection of numbers and spiritual warfare. | |
| And now, here is your host, Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| Hey, everybody, welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| I am your host, Mondo. | |
| Your friend, Pastor Jim Baker, cannot be here today. | |
| Pray for him. | |
| You know, he's going through some struggles with his health, trying to get back in line. | |
| The doctors are asking him to rest. | |
| But if you know your friend Jim Baker, he doesn't like resting. | |
| He loves building. | |
| He loves preaching. | |
| He loves you. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| Continue to pray for Pastor Jim and Lori because they need your prayers. | |
| And anytime you go through storms, you want some friends around you that can help you get through the storms because I want to tell you something. | |
| Never should you be alone when you go through something. | |
| The Bible makes it very clear that it's not good for men to be alone. | |
| That means we need some friends. | |
| The Bible says in Proverbs 17, 17, one of my favorite scriptures, that a friend loves at all times, but a brother is born for adversity. | |
| A brother is born to fight, not with each other, but for each other. | |
| So if you're going through something, find yourself a good friend that can help you fight with prayer, through friendships, sit around, drink some coffee, and talk about life. | |
| How about that? | |
| I love friends, and I'm glad that you're here with me today. | |
| We have a very special program. | |
| I am honored. | |
| I am thrilled. | |
| I am beyond myself. | |
| I've come close to moving to Texas because of a man named Troy Brewer. | |
| He is here with us to discuss his latest book, Prophesied. | |
| Listen, numbers that prophesy, hearing God through historic headlines and numbers that preach. | |
| This man is an author. | |
| He's a pastor. | |
| He's a rescuer. | |
| This man is a friend of people. | |
| But more than that, he loves Jesus. | |
| Welcome, our friend, Pastor Troy Brewer. | |
| Thank you so much. | |
| Troy, can I call you Troy? | |
| I feel like we know each other. | |
| Yeah, we do. | |
| We know each other. | |
| Why do you love Jesus so much? | |
| Because he loves me so much. | |
| What did he do for you? | |
| Oh, he's done so much. | |
| You know, Paul actually says that. | |
| He says, because God loved us first, we love him. | |
| Meaning, once we get a real revelation of how God Almighty loves us, we can't help but love him back. | |
| And so I know that Jesus loves me. | |
| I know that he does. | |
| He saved me. | |
| He's healed me. | |
| He set me free. | |
| He set me up to be a rescuer. | |
| You know, he's moved me from shameful places into honorable places. | |
| He calls me family. | |
| He is the baddest cat in the universe. | |
| And he's the most awesome warrior that has ever been. | |
| Yet he takes the time to love on me. | |
| And I just, I, you know, when I start talking about Jesus, I immediately just start melting. | |
| Like, oh, dude. | |
| And I start getting so excited because, and I'm not making that up. | |
| I mean, I really, really love Jesus. | |
| Troy Brewer, you are a Proverbs 17, 17 type of guy. | |
| Come on, people love you. | |
| You are a friend to people. | |
| But more than that, you come in when adversity shows up. | |
| Why is it so important for friends to not walk away? | |
| Well, if you're going to walk with Jesus, you're going to have to learn a warrior spirit because the kingdom is all about the fight. | |
| It's all about the fight. | |
| One of the things I say all the time that makes people so mad, and I kind of like making people mad sometimes. | |
| You know, I kind of like that. | |
| But I say this all the time. | |
| Jesus isn't nice. | |
| He's kind, but he isn't nice. | |
| And I'm like, whoa, whoa, no, he's the nicest person ever. | |
| No, he's the most loving person ever, but he's not the nicest person ever. | |
| He doesn't come in and just try and just get along with everybody. | |
| He comes in and says the kingdom is here. | |
| You don't rescue kids by being nice. | |
| Amen. | |
| You don't do what it is that we do here year after year after year by being nice and letting people run all over us. | |
| And it is so important for us to understand the nature of the kingdom is that the kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force, meaning it is a constant fight. | |
| You never get out of the knockdown drag out of that. | |
| And warriors, we have this commonality about us that we've been through it, that we're in it still, and that we have the scars that we actually bear the scars of it. | |
| You are amazing. | |
| I will never get tired of telling you how amazing you are in Jesus because you rescue kids. | |
| You go in where very few people dare to go in. | |
| You're a wild preacher. | |
| You're a singer. | |
| You're an author. | |
| You're a friend. | |
| You're a father. | |
| You're a husband. | |
| Is there anything you don't do good? | |
| Well, I don't do anything very good. | |
| I just do it a lot. | |
| You just look like it. | |
| Man, exactly. | |
| No, I have the worst ADD anybody has ever seen. | |
| I'm the kind of guy that when I got my computer on, I have to have 50 windows open at a time. | |
| And I'm also the kind of guy that is involved in all kinds of different things. | |
| And the deal is, man, if I'm old, so I'm pushing 60 now. | |
| And I've been doing these things for so long that after a while, you know, God brings you into place and you start to see fruit. | |
| You start to see success. | |
| One day I'm going to go to your ranch, bring cameras with me. | |
| And we're going to pretend like no one's listening. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And we're just going to talk. | |
| Because I believe that it's time to talk. | |
| I believe it's time to get serious with Jesus like never before. | |
| I love what you're saying. | |
| He wasn't nice. | |
| He was loving. | |
| But don't confuse nice with love. | |
| It will get you in trouble. | |
| He's not a hippie. | |
| He's a warrior. | |
| He's not my homeboy. | |
| Yeah, that's exactly right. | |
| He's not a hippie and he's not playing. | |
| If you want to know what Jesus, so a lot of people don't understand this, Brother Mondo, is everybody thinks that what Jesus looks like, please let me finish this statement before you turn off the television. | |
| Everybody thinks that what Jesus looks like is Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| No, that's what the Father looks like. | |
| Jesus came to demonstrate the Father in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| So if you're scared of God, you don't need to be scared of him in the sense of, you know, like, I don't think he's going to like me. | |
| No, look, if you look at Jesus, you have seen the Father. | |
| But if you want to see what Jesus looks like, look towards the book of Revelation. | |
| That's called the revelation of who? | |
| Jesus Christ. | |
| Wow. | |
| So that's Jesus is revealed in the book of Revelation. | |
| The Father is revealed through Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| It's time to go back to the Bible. | |
| Yeah, that's right. | |
| There's an epidemic of illiteracy when it comes to the church of not knowing their Bible. | |
| We have codepended on the preacher. | |
| Yes. | |
| We have codepended on listening to people and following people. | |
| But when times get tough, we got the word. | |
| Listen, we can go in so many different directions, and I hope we do. | |
| But there's one direction that I want to hit right now because you are a friend of Israel. | |
| We are a friend of Israel. | |
| I woke up to this morning to a news that is shocking because there's things happening in Israel. | |
| I want you to take a look at this, Pastor Troy, because you wrote a book titled Numbers That Prophesied. | |
| Israel and itself without headlines prophesies. | |
|
Suspect's Obsession with Israel-Palestine Conflict
00:07:22
|
|
| And I want you to watch this report and let us know what is God speaking through what's happening in Israel this morning. | |
| Watch this. | |
| And as you're watching, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. | |
| Watch this. | |
| Washington, D.C., in a state of shock with evidence mounting of a brazen act of hate taking the lives of two members of the Israeli embassy in what some are already calling a brazen act of terrorism. | |
| Overnight, shots outside the Capitol Jewish Museum near the FBI's Washington, D.C. field office, killing a young couple with plans to marry Yaron Leshinsky and his girlfriend, Sarah Milgram. | |
| The Israeli ambassador near tears while talking about them. | |
| The couple that was gunned down tonight in the name of Free Palestine is a young couple about to be engaged. | |
| The young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem. | |
| The young couple gunned down at close range after leaving a celebration of young Jewish diplomats. | |
| The suspect was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum. | |
| He approached a group of four people, produced a handgun, and opened fire, striking both of our decedents. | |
| After the shooting, the suspect then entered the museum. | |
| Overnight, we spoke with Katie and Yoni, who were inside the museum at the time of the shooting. | |
| So the suspect came over to where I was and we offered him water and he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a kafiya and says, I did it. | |
| I did this for Gaza. | |
| He wanted the cops to come in and then he wanted to say I did it. | |
| And a critical piece of evidence that could point to motive. | |
| Something the suspect said, suggesting an apparent obsession with the Israeli-Hamas conflict. | |
| The suspect chanted free, free Palestine while in custody. | |
| Here's the man police believe to be the suspect. | |
| Hands behind his back, surrounded by police and security. | |
| Free, free Palestine! | |
| The suspect has been tentatively identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois. | |
| A massive investigation now underway with the FBI trying to determine motive and whether there are any ties to terrorist organizations. | |
| Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office saying he's shocked by the horrific anti-Semitic murder. | |
| Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Christine Noam, and President Trump all responding overnight, understanding the international implications. | |
| This is a painful reminder. | |
| We are still in an extremely dangerous threat environment. | |
| Anti-Semitism is in the forefront of our news once again. | |
| Pastor Troy geopolitics once again is in the forefront of the news. | |
| Israel is once again in the headlines. | |
| What is God speaking in this hour about Israel and the tension, the anti-Semitism once again rising like never before? | |
| And yet everyone is turning a blind eye, not everyone, but most people are standing against Israel. | |
| Even the church, parts of the church I cannot believe are standing against Israel. | |
| What does this mean? | |
| Well, that's a great question. | |
| What does this mean? | |
| You know, there are two questions in the book of Acts, Acts chapter 2. | |
| What does this mean? | |
| And what should I do? | |
| That is Acts chapter 2. | |
| Two questions that God is always willing to answer. | |
| First of all, what this means is, first and foremost, is this. | |
| These place, these people, these free, free Palestine people, are among us. | |
| They've taken over college campuses. | |
| They have been trained in their ideology. | |
| They have been brainwashed by universities. | |
| They have been brainwashed by terrorists. | |
| And they have had an open place in the public, so much so that this guy now feels like he is going to be a hero because he walks in and guns down two innocent people who cannot defend themselves, a young man and also a young woman. | |
| What it means is this is here, it's here now, and it's something that we're going to have to stand against. | |
| And we have to know our support for Israel. | |
| We have to know how to stand for them. | |
| You know, the whole world is going to continue in these last days to turn against Israel so much, Brother Mondo, that Jesus himself is going to have to come back to defend Israel. | |
| And so when you see this thing escalating, what you're seeing is the imminent and the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. | |
| How do we stand with Israel? | |
| We stand with Israel in a whole lot of different ways. | |
| But I want to tell you, first and foremost, the way that we stand with Israel is we understand we have a covenant of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. | |
| Israel has a covenant with Yahweh God as the king of Israel. | |
| They have a covenant of kingship. | |
| So Jesus came to us literally to preach the gospel of salvation. | |
| But you need to know and you need to understand this: He's going to keep his promise. | |
| And when Jesus comes back, friends, when he does, Joseph will be revealed to his brethren. | |
| He's going to take off his Egyptian mask and his Egyptian hair. | |
| But in this case, our Israeli friends think that he must be Italian, right? | |
| Because we've all seen the Da Vinci painting and we understand all that. | |
| No, listen, he's going to show up and they will look upon whom they have pierced and they will mourn. | |
| And he's going to show up to them the same exact way that Joseph showed up to his brethren. | |
| He's going to say, you know what? | |
| You're not in trouble. | |
| You're actually going to be blessed now. | |
| And Jesus is coming back. | |
| He is coming back. | |
| I want you to get ready to talk about the kingdom. | |
| Okay. | |
| I had a whole list of things that I wanted to talk about, but I really believe in my heart that we got to preach the kingdom. | |
| Amen. | |
| You know that there's only one person in my almost 30 years of ministry that I was around, got the privilege to hang out with this person, learn from this person. | |
| I wish I would have done more in my lifetime to spend more time with this person, Miles Monroe. | |
| You knew where I was going. | |
| You knew where you were going, buddy. | |
| He's had a profound influence on my life. | |
| I got to sit with him. | |
| I got to spend time with this man. | |
| I got time. | |
| I almost moved. | |
| Really, when you remove what the kingdom is all about from a perspective, seeing it through an American eye, you remove the entire gospel because we don't understand the language that most of the time Jesus spoke about when it referred to the kingdom. | |
| So get ready to talk about the kingdom because I believe God is going to show you a vision, a revelation that you've been praying for. | |
| And I believe that you tuned in today and God is going to answer that prayer. | |

Cardio Miracle Boosts Blood Flow
00:02:58
|
|
| But before I go to Pastor Troy, I want you to watch this video. | |
| It's a sponsor from, you know, Cardio Miracle has become an affiliate program to this network, to this ministry, and their support is helping us continue to preach the gospel around the world. | |
| We need some friends. | |
| And Cardio Miracle are friends to this ministry and they are friends of yours. | |
| And if you haven't become an affiliate program, they told us that you're not going to survive in this era of how Christians are giving. | |
| So we decided to move into an affiliate program with Cardio Miracle and become friends because we cared about your health. | |
| Watch this. | |
| And as you're watching, write the number down because I believe that Cardiomiracle can be an answer to your health. | |
| Watch this. | |
| If you have a heart, you need nitric oxide. | |
| Even the University of Florida called nitric oxide the spark of life in the cell. | |
| This miracle molecule is essential for cardiovascular health, improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure, and boosting your energy. | |
| So what it does, it's balancing the neurotransmitters. | |
| It's increasing blood flow throughout the body. | |
| It's protecting you from the number one killer of everybody, which is cardiovascular disease. | |
| With Cardio Miracle, you're unlocking the potential for extraordinary health and vitality. | |
| Again, we have to feed our brains. | |
| And so this not only feeds the brain with the appropriate ingredients and nutrition, but also the blood flow. | |
| You know, for instance, you out there, you know, when you stand up and you get dizzy and you feel like you want to fall, especially the older population, we have hip fractures and things. | |
| It's because we're not getting enough of the hydration that we need. | |
| So the water, but also the blood flow dynamics shift over time. | |
| And so the nitric oxide helps to even that out because you're getting the nutrition you need. | |
| And again, the nitric oxide and getting that blood flow, the pressure head of blood to your brain. | |
| Take it before your workout, take it after your workout, receive the benefits. | |
| It's amazing. | |

The Kingdom Speaks
00:10:37
|
|
| This not only is going to help you, but it's helping this ministry to continue to move forward and preach the gospel around the world. | |
| It is so important that we unite together, that we stand together. | |
| Times are changing. | |
| The way people give is changing. | |
| But remember this, every time you order the product and you subscribe every single month, you're allowing us to come into your home every single day. | |
| So thank you for that. | |
| Remember, write this number down, 1-888-988-1588. | |
| All right. | |
| The kingdom. | |
| The kingdom. | |
| The God of heaven has been speaking to you about the kingdom. | |
| I want to give you the next five. | |
| Let's see, how much time I have? | |
| Let's do about six minutes. | |
| Take the next six minutes and we'll continue this conversation on our next program, but set the foundation about what we don't know about the kingdom of heaven. | |
| Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand was the message that King Jesus gave us. | |
| Repent is when you own the impact of something and you say this changes everything. | |
| And if we're going to be bringers of the kingdom, then we have to be bringers of things that changes everything. | |
| That King Jesus himself said, hey, you have the kingdom within you. | |
| So if I show up, I know that Christ in me is the hope of glory. | |
| And any place that I go, I have the potential to bring the kingdom with me. | |
| So let's unpack this just a little bit. | |
| I heard Brother Miles Monroe say 20 or 30 years ago, he actually said, the kingdom is where the king has dominion. | |
| The word kingdom, the kingdom is where the king has dominion. | |
| This is what we're supposed to be seekers of. | |
| Seek ye first, the kingdom, and all these other things will be added to you. | |
| And I know that that's real. | |
| I don't know that that's right. | |
| But what's real is as a Texan, I'm a 16th generation American. | |
| I am a sixth generation Texan. | |
| And we don't like kings. | |
| We don't have a use for kings. | |
| We like to rebel against kings. | |
| But this king, you cannot rebel against. | |
| This king, you want within your life, and you want to be a part of his kingdom. | |
| Now, whenever Jesus gave all the parables, the parables were all about, hey, the kingdom looks just like this. | |
| Hey, the kingdom looks just like that. | |
| This is what the kingdom is. | |
| And he preaches the kingdom. | |
| And as a matter of fact, Jesus took up the message of John the Baptist and he didn't go around preaching salvation. | |
| He went around preaching the kingdom. | |
| And as a matter of fact, out of the 153 people, Brother Mondo, that King Jesus led to the Lord, there are 153 examples in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. | |
| Same number of fishes in the net, 153. | |
| Out of those, he only talked theology with one, Nicodemus. | |
| The rest of them, he said, here's the kingdom. | |
| It's like, whoa. | |
| It's like Jesus wasted a lot of time not praying the sinner's prayer. | |
| Now, I pray the sinner prayer with people all the time, and I love that. | |
| It's a great way to bring people into unity with the Lord. | |
| But Jesus, like, for example, whenever he talked to the rich young ruler in Matthew chapter 19, he just said, okay, well, there's one thing that you like. | |
| And he said, what? | |
| And he said, go and sell everything that you have and then follow me. | |
| And he's like, whoa. | |
| And then he said, it's very hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom. | |
| Now, we tend to think of that as far as salvation goes. | |
| But what's real is with our salvation package, there's a lot of people that are saved, but they miss their whole life. | |
| They miss the kingdom. | |
| And we cannot do that. | |
| In these last days, Jesus said this, go ye into all the earth preaching the gospel of this kingdom, and then the end shall come. | |
| So I like to define the kingdom as three different things, or I like to point it down into three different things. | |
| The kingdom is not just when you get saved. | |
| The kingdom is the environment, the atmosphere, and the culture where people can be saved. | |
| So last week I was in Belize and we were rescuing a bunch of girls and rescuing a bunch of kids. | |
| And while I was down there, one of the things that we purpose to do is to bring the kingdom everywhere we go. | |
| Like, okay, so we take a ton of food with us, man. | |
| We go down the road. | |
| As we're driving down the road, hey, stop right there. | |
| Look at those mamas and those kids sitting on the porch. | |
| Give them a ton of groceries. | |
| Get out and love on them. | |
| Tell us, guys, Jesus sees you. | |
| The kingdom has come to your house today. | |
| What can I pray for you about? | |
| And dude, signs, miracles, and wonders, salvations just start happening. | |
| Wow. | |
| And it's like everywhere we go, we purpose to bring the kingdom. | |
| So in environments, what it looks like is you change something that looks messy into something that has order. | |
| You change something that's shameful to something that has honor. | |
| You change something that has chaos to something that is straight. | |
| And you literally change those environments. | |
| Like mom, dad, grandparents, if your grandchild has a bunch of ugly posters in the room and all that, change that environment. | |
| Make it look more like heaven than it looks like hell. | |
| The next one is atmosphere. | |
| The atmosphere of the kingdom is always supernatural. | |
| Signs, miracles, and wonders, the wisdom of God, the preaching of the gospel, worship, fasting, prayer, dreams, visions. | |
| That is the atmosphere of the kingdom. | |
| And then the culture of the kingdom is you love what God loves, you hate what God hates, you do what God does, you don't do what God doesn't do, and you prioritize the values of the Father. | |
| And that's what the culture looks like. | |
| And if we can be people of the environments and the atmospheres and the cultures of heaven, what's real is we will see people saved. | |
| We will see things turn around. | |
| We will see transformation, but we have to be kingdom people. | |
| If I'm going to love what God loves and hate what God hates, that means I'm going to bring the culture of heaven everywhere I go. | |
| And people are going to say, now this does not come from Texas. | |
| This right here comes from heaven. | |
| If we do that, I promise you, friends, we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of living. | |
| Troy, you reminded me of something that Miles Monroe told me many, many years ago. | |
| I was a fairly new Christian. | |
| I still talk ghetto. | |
| That means from the streets. | |
| I walk ghetto. | |
| I dress ghetto. | |
| Everything about me was gangster. | |
| And he said, Brother Mondo, I can't do his accent. | |
| But he said, Brother Mondo, if you're going to change and if you're going to see change, then you have to understand that the first thing that must change is language. | |
| He says kingdoms, the first thing they do when they colonize is they don't go in there and change the people, the way they dress, the way they walk, the way they do business. | |
| The first thing kingdoms do is they change language. | |
| Because if they can change the language, they can change the culture. | |
| They can change their values. | |
| They can change the morals. | |
| They even change how you believe. | |
| And if you want the kingdom of heaven's language, then you have to allow the kingdom to enter into your heart so you can speak the same language. | |
| The moment he told me that was my goal for that year, I got to change the language. | |
| I got to change the language. | |
| I got to get into the kingdom language and understand that if I can allow the kingdom to come into my life, then it's going to change the way I think. | |
| It's going to change the way I walk. | |
| It's going to change the way I carry myself. | |
| It's going to change the way I pray. | |
| It's going to change the way I even read the scriptures. | |
| It's going to change how I believe. | |
| It's going to change my faith. | |
| And it's going to change the world around you. | |
| 30 seconds. | |
| Why is kingdom language necessary in order to see change? | |
| Because it's out of the heart that the mouth speaks. | |
| And that is the heart of the Father. | |
| And if we want to line up our hearts with the Father's heart, friends, we line up our mouth with the Father's mouth. | |
| As a man thinketh. | |
| Amen. | |
| So is he in his heart. | |
| That's right. | |
| Wow. | |
| That message is for you. | |
| Listen, we're going to talk about the kingdom some more on the next program. | |
| But you wrote a book, Numbers That Prophesied, and we're going to get into it because you quoted a scripture that you mention in here that is connected to Princess Diana. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| There was a message. | |
| I knew it in my heart. | |
| I couldn't understand it. | |
| But anytime that major public figures appear in the scene and disappear in the scene, I've learned that there's prophecy behind it. | |
| Mother Teresa, Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War. | |
| Can you talk about it in the next program? | |
| I certainly can. | |
| Tell me a little bit about this book, Numbers That Prophesied, because I want you to go get it. | |
| JimBakershot.com. | |
| We have an affiliate program with Norai Media, and they're making this book available right now. | |
| Everything about the history of America, almost. | |
| I think if you would have wrote about the whole history, we'd have had several volumes. | |
| But real quick, why do I need this book? | |
| So that you can see the voice of God. | |
| Now, when I say see, the Bible says in the book of Revelation, I turn to see the voice. | |
| That's what it says. | |
