Jim Baker Shares His Journey 00:05:07
Hello and welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show, coming to you from the village of Morningside, USA, snuggled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.
Today, our special guest is host of the Daily Talk Radio Show, the Line of Fire and founder and president of Fire School of Ministry in Concord, North Carolina, Dr. Michael Brown.
Our co-hosts today are Ricky Baker and Mondo De La Vega.
And now, live from Gray Street at Morningside, USA, here's your host, Pastor Jim Baker.
Don't say Ricky Baker, but I'm here.
I'm here.
That's right.
Welcome to Jim Baker Show.
It's good to see you again.
I've been away for about five weeks.
Where have you been?
I have been recuperating from a stroke.
I had a stroke, three strokes.
Yes.
Very small ones.
So that doesn't count as much, right?
Well, no, trust me, little or big, they still hit your body, yeah.
Did you grow tall?
I am slightly taller than you.
I'm about four inches taller than you.
And you sit up taller than me right now.
You're not supposed to be that taller than me.
I ate my vegetables growing up.
You did a good job raising me.
So, you know, the people have been asking us.
We see it on all of our social media accounts.
We're listening to you, all the emails, all the letters you're sending in.
You say, where is Jim Baker?
He's right here.
He's alive in the flesh.
And the people have wanted to know, are you feeling better after your three strokes?
I'm still alive.
Amen.
Amen.
And the strokes have been a little devastating this time.
Yes.
Yeah.
And I've been out now for almost five weeks.
But you're feeling good?
I have good days and bad days.
Yeah.
And the thing of it is, this stroke has left me very weak.
Yeah.
So I don't walk a whole lot.
I use a cane.
I have one here.
That's right.
But I use a walker.
Yeah.
And I'm in bed most of the time.
But you're thinking a lot.
You're eating.
You're taking care of yourself.
Are you still dreaming?
I am dreaming.
I am dreaming about Morningside and completing Morningside.
Amen.
And I want to see it completed.
I want to see all of the things done, all the dreaming things that you and I have dreamed about and we've all dreamed about.
We've written it all down.
Yeah.
And it's going to be exciting.
You know, I've seen partners.
They've written us a letter and I've gotten your letter and I want to say thank you for taking the time to write us.
And they're saying, you know, I have been through something similar like Pastor Jim Baker.
I've had a stroke, but I seem to be losing hope.
But there is a message of hope behind this because God's still on the throne, isn't he?
My doctors all give me hope.
And in fact, they say I would be more able to walk if I walked.
You got to walk to be able to walk.
I haven't been walking.
And so I'm going to start exercising more.
Well, you know, it's so good to see you because we get to talk to you, but a lot of our friends and partners, you know, they ask about you.
And, you know, we try to do as much as we can to bring you up to date on how dad your friend Jim Baker is doing.
But to see you in the flesh is a different thing.
So I'm so glad that the team behind you can get you ready.
And of course, we help a little bit.
We try to take the credit, but honestly, it's that lady over there that helps a lot.
And of course, Tiffany and the whole team really help you to be here today.
And we missed you.
Do you feel missed?
That's an option, right?
I miss being here.
Yeah, well, because I've done this for 60 years, and I'm used to pretty much at the time coming to a Do a TV show.
Yeah.
But now I'm at home.
I'm in bed most of the time.
And so my body's deteriorated, and I need to get out and walk and exercise.
You know, the funny thing is that you are so determined.
And you have always been a fighter, meaning you're not giving up that quick.
And that's one thing that you need to be reminded is that your friend, Jim Baker, is a fighter.
You keep coming back and you have that determination because you have a passion for this nation.
You have a passion for the gospel.
You have a passion for the people.
And every conversation we have with you is all about the people.
It's about the nation and making sure that we continue to preach the gospel.
Pillars In Trouble 00:15:11
I'm so concerned about America.
I watch a lot of television because it's on and it's there.
And I watch different programs.
And I see that America is falling apart.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, the pillars of America and our special guest, you know, he's got tremendous insights and I love watching him and I love his insights on what's happening in the culture today, but also in the church world.
But our pillars in America are in trouble.
And culturally, we have changed.
We have shifted.
Yet everything is prompting to go into what most, what we believe that an awakening and revival is coming, but there's a shaking taking place.
That's right.
America has never been in this much mess.
And America has turned its back on God.
Yeah.
That's what scares me.
We must turn back to God before it's too late.
You know, and when you say that, it makes me think that America is turning its back on Israel.
I've never seen in the church and outside of the church how we have come against Israel and the Jewish community, anti-Semitism.
We're going to talk about the history of that with our special guest, but I want to tell you something.
Don't change that dial.
Don't change that station right now.
We're going to give you some insights that hopefully it brings you to clarity of where we're going, what's happening right now.
But let me ask you something, Dad, because I always find it fascinating what God speaks to you about the current culture.
When you see the anti-Semitism taking place, how does that make you feel?
Because you have seen the generations change.
Yet in my lifetime, I've never seen the anti-Semitic movement be this harsh towards people in the Jewish community in America.
There's nothing else that shows that we're in the end times anymore than that.
Wow.
Wow.
And the fact that our country is turning away from Israel.
They're mocking Israel.
The schools are marching.
I can't hardly believe what I see happening in Israel and in America.
Across our universities.
I think it's the end times.
I think it's end times bigger than it's ever been before.
And Ricky, why don't you introduce our guest because I want to bring him into this conversation?
That's right.
Yeah, our guest, we have Dr. Michael Brown with us today.
And if you don't know Dr. Michael Brown, today is a show you are not going to want to miss.
He is the founder and the president of Ask Dr. Brown Ministries, the president of Fire School of Ministry, and the host of the Line of Fire radio show.
Namondo, he's authored more than 40 books, and he is a messianic Bible scholar.
Dr. Michael Brown is truly a voice for this generation.
We want to thank you for being on with us today, Dr. Brown.
Dr. Brown, welcome back.
Thanks.
Thanks so much.
Israel has been at the center of breaking news.
Why are so many people downplaying the Hamas atrocities?
Atrocities committed on October 7th.
Yeah, well, because the Hamas atrocities were committed against Israel, against the Jewish people.
And because there is this world tide of anti-Semitism and Jew hatred, and now Israel is retaliating against Hamas.
Well, if you admit that Hamas really did these things, that they slaughtered babies in cold blood, that they burned families alive, that they literally raped women to death, that they beheaded children.
If you actually believe these things, then you could say, well, we understand why Israel is retaliating the way that they are.
But if you want to make Israel the monster in this, then you have to downplay the atrocities committed.
It's just the latest form of what would be Holocaust denial in a past generation.
And think of this.
The massacre takes place on October 7th.
Israel has not aggressively begun to fight back yet, while on October 10th, Muslims gathering in Sydney, Australia at the Sydney Opera House are chanting, gas the Jews.
So there's no question about what's going on, the demonic nature of this, the attempt to wipe out the Jewish people.
Hamas leaders have said, we will do October 7th over and over again until there is no more Israel.
That is their ideology.
The end of Israel is part of their charter.
And yet, you have protests around the world, not just pro-Palestinian, but pro-Hamas.
It exposes the sickness and evil of what we're dealing with.
Do you believe the church must stand with Israel?
Absolutely, categorically, yes.
It doesn't mean you can't disagree with Israel.
It doesn't mean you can't have a difference with a policy or how they're engaging in war in Gaza or getting in humanitarian aid.
What it means is this.
We recognize that it is God who preserved the Jewish people and Satan who wants to wipe them out.
Therefore, we stand with God against the devil.
We recognize it is God who brought the Jewish people back to the land and Satan wants to annihilate them.
Therefore, we stand with Israel against Satan.
We recognize that Jesus is coming back to a Jewish Jerusalem and that Satan wants to keep Jews out of Jerusalem and away from Jesus.
Therefore, we stand with Israel.
It's fundamental.
It's clear.
It's simply a matter of being on God's side or not.
Of course, we care about the Palestinians.
Of course, we care about the suffering of all humanity.
Jesus died for everyone the same.
But we recognize what God is doing and what Satan is doing.
And therefore, we stand with God and with Israel.
The rioting in the schools, the marching in the streets.
Do you feel if America doesn't stop turning its back on Israel, God's going to turn its back on America?
Yeah, Jim, I believe that there are a couple of reasons why God has been merciful to America despite all of our sins through the years.
One is we've been a strong missions nation.
We've sent out missionaries around the world.
We've helped the world in a humanitarian way.
I believe that's important to the Lord, and therefore he's been merciful to us.
But also, our stance with Israel, Harry Truman being involved in recognizing Israel at its birth in 1947, 1948, our historic friendship with Israel, making Jewish people welcome in America.
Even though there's been discrimination against the Jews in some of our history, we have not been a nation that openly persecuted Jewish people or threatened the lives of Jewish people.
But now what's happening on the campuses is extremely ugly.
We understand it's just part of Marxist uprisings.
It's part of the rage against the machine and pushback against the authority.
And a lot of this is funded by the same people who funded the BLM protests, et cetera.
And a lot of the young people, they're just worked up against the oppressors and the colonizers.
But why is it that in their mind, the picture of ultimate evil is not a Hamas terrorist shooting in the head an elderly Holocaust survivor or taking over 200 people as hostages, including babies, or cutting off the head of a dead soldier.
That's not the face of evil.
Why is it that the face of evil is an Israeli Jew?
It's because it is a demonic thing going on.
And yes, if right now the Biden administration at present has said that they're going to withhold the shipment of arms if Israel goes in to take out Hamas and Rafa.
It is very concerning to me.
I believe if we turn our back on Israel, that God's mercy will almost be completely cut off to our nation.
Dr. Byrne, how did the U.S. colleges and universities become so hostile and cultivating ground for anti-Semitism?
Yeah, it's a great question.
It's something I've documented for many, many years.
This is the manifestation of it, but it's nothing new.
This has been going on for some time.
So on the one hand, you've had more and more leftist scholars and thinkers who are Marxist in their orientation.
And again, there's the narrative of it's the colonizer versus the colonized, the oppressor versus the oppressed.
Then you add into it this ideology that everything is white supremacy.
And rather than recognizing all the indigenous Middle Eastern Jews and Jews of color living in Israel, no, instead you just see the white European Jews as the ultimate expression of the Marxist colonizer and the Palestinians as the indigenous people who've been oppressed and driven out by the evil Israelis.
So this whole Marxist ideology ties in with it.
Also, to the extent the universities have lost any Christian base, they've just taken on worldly, fleshly mentalities.
And anti-Semitism is a demonic thing that's infested and infected the human race for centuries.
And it's almost like the default mentality of the human race.
That's why the church has to stand.
You asked about the church standing.
We can't be sure that America will stand with Israel.
We can't be sure that any nation on the planet will stand with Israel.
It's going to come down to the church.
As the universities have lost that fear of God and any Christian base, they continue to swing in a way that's going to develop this anti-Semitic ideology.
And then it's this demonic thing that the Jews are always scapegoated.
If there's evil in the world, if there are bad things happening in the world, who's responsible for it?
The Jews.
And who's the worst culprit of all?
The Zionist Jews.
These narratives have infested our campuses for years now, and we see the manifestation in these protests.
That's right.
You know, I want to play this video for you, Dr. Brown.
I want to get your opinion on anti-Semitism on our college campuses.
Watch this for us.
You guys are promoting aggression.
You guys are promoting hate.
I'm a UCLA student.
I deserve to go here.
We pay tuition.
This is our school.
And they're not letting me walk in.
You don't have to be Jewish to worry about the spread of poisonous violence and anti-Semitism.
What has been occurring and occurred in this past week did not occur in a vacuum.
It was predictable, which meant it was preventable.
Meanwhile, a report from the Wall Street Journal uncovered disturbing information that the recent wave of protests were the result of months of training, planning, and encouragement by longtime left-wing activists and groups.
What people need to understand is that these anti-Israel protests on the campuses are also anti-American protests as well.
It is about lawlessness, it is about anarchy, it is attacking our most precious ally, Israel, and it is hurling anti-Semitic slurs against Jewish students, as well as physical harassment, physical assault against Jewish students.
These show that we want to stand together, be proud of who we are, not cower in the name of anti-Semitism.
Anti-Semitism is a virus, and because the administration and woke university presidents aren't stepping in, we're seeing it spread.
I'm really sorry to say this, but I told you so.
I've been lecturing on university campuses since 2007 in the United States of America, but the bulk of this is coming from the left, the left in politics, the left in academia.
And in fact, now we're seeing that it's actually there, even in the high schools.
The First Amendment does not protect you, your right to destroy buildings or assault other people.
That should just be straight out of the gate, not permitted anywhere.
Meanwhile, protests have turned international.
Students from Havana, Cuba, Havana, Cuba.
Dr. Brown, how should universities deal with student protesters?
I am shocked by this.
I am shocked by what I see.
I can't believe this is the United States of America.
And these are universities that parents are paying up to $90,000 a year for these kids to go to school.
How can we become an answer to this?
Very simple.
The campuses need to deal with this decisively.
Freedom of speech, 100%.
You can present your view, however unpopular it is, as long as you're not inciting violence against other people.
You can have your viewpoints.
But if you break the law, if you set up these encampments, if you take over buildings, if you break the law and refuse to abide by university guidelines that apply to everyone just the same, it's very simple.
You must be evicted from campus.
If that means bringing in the police, you bring in the police.
And if you refuse to comply with university guidelines, you should be expelled from the school.
Simple.
And what's amazing is many of the protesters, in some cases, most, they're not students at all.
That video we saw, it's the tip of the iceberg.
There are people coming in.
They're these professional agitators.
You've got these billionaire leftists underwriting so much of what's happening and helping to organize it.
So freedom of speech, absolutely.
Have your diversity of viewpoint, even if it's unpopular or unpleasant.
Absolutely.
The campuses should be free to do that.
But when you break the rules, you pay the penalty.
It is that simple.
It's like when President Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, like you have a job.
If you don't show up, you lose your job.
It's a privilege to be a student in a university.
You said parents are paying extraordinary amounts of money to send them to these schools.
We have to question why, what kind of education they're getting in many cases, but you break the rules, you are out.
You don't play by, you don't play fair, you don't get special privilege.
The university is not going to bow down to you.
The public is not going to bow down to you.
They're not going to negotiate with you.
You're out of order.
You're out of line.
Goodbye.
And goodbye to being a student.
You should be expelled from being a student.
You lose your right to be there.
Let's talk a little bit more about it.
I'm concerned that About half of those arrested on the campuses don't even belong to the school.
No.
Did you see it, Monday?
Rewriting History: Old Ideas, New Activism 00:03:07
Absolutely.
And what we're watching is activists that are taking the lead role under the pretense of social justice.
Social justice is being taught more in the universities than science, than engineering.
But yet, even if you go after those type of lessons, for some reason, they're interjecting social justice on almost every area of school.
The result is the activism that comes out of it is so dangerous because the ideology and the idea they bring into the streets is now bringing back old things, but also rewriting history and erasing the history that America was funded on.
Now, it's a history that America is not proud of, but it's something that America had to deal with and move on from it.
But yet, this new activists are bringing some old things back and rewriting it in a form.
And Anderson, they're being paid by very old corporations, even in America.
And they're being paid up, some of them $13,000, I've heard.
Yeah, some of them are making $1,300 a week.
And you have to understand the money behind it.
And Dr. Brown keeps bringing one word up that I think we need to understand.
If you don't understand the word Marxist, then you have to go and research what that means and the agenda that they're trying to set the goals under the pretense on so many different issues.
Yet the Marxist ideology wants to literally defund what America was founded on and America's principles.
Yet the Marxist ideas do not work.
When you look at Cuba, when you look at Venezuela, those are just two nations that are examples of socialism not working.
Yet this new generation thinks that they can refix what socialism can do.
Yet the price you pay is so diabolical.
Yet in America, somebody said the other day that American households are paying for the education that is turning back their backs on America.
And here we're paying for our own demise.
Yes, we are.
Yeah, or you're, it's for me, when you understand 30 years ago.
Without America, the end of America has come.
Absolutely.
I think we're understanding.
And that's why I got out of bed to come back to work.
Because I'm concerned.
America is falling apart.
America is dying.
And our kids have been lied to.
Yeah, or weak leadership in the school system.
You know, we used to consider the educational system one of the pillars of America.
Yet today, that pillar has been infiltrated and that pillar doesn't exist as a stronghold anymore.
Turn the Tide 00:12:42
I believe the weak leadership in the universities must get fired.
They need to be replaced and get back to the principles in which the universities started with.
Yet, Ricky, we're seeing a change and the shift in the culture.
That's right.
And we need a cultural awakening.
That is what it boils down to.
They're not going to be informationed out.
You can't go there and logic with these people.
There needs to be a true move of God, a true spiritual revival.
And that's why you wrote this book, Turn the Tide, Dr. Brown.
This is a pivotal book for the days we're living in, Mondo.
This is what, I mean, listen to this: Turn the Tide, how to ignite a cultural awakening.
There's so many people who are claiming to be woke, yet they're asleep at the exact same time.
We must have a cultural awakening.
Dr. Brown, if I can ask you, why did you write this book?
Well, it is revival or we die.
It is outpouring in the church becoming awakening in society, or America as we know it is over.
It's done with.
Yet, it's not without hope because I've been seeing for several years now all over the nation pockets of outpouring, churches where the Holy Spirit's moving, campuses where the Holy Spirit's being poured out, thousands of baptisms taking place.
God's people coming awake in many, many different parts of America.
The question is: how do you go from revival to reformation?
How do you go from outpouring in the church to awakening in society?
It doesn't just happen automatically.
And in this book, Turn the Tide, I believe God has given me strategies, practical things that we can do, living them out, be it in the school system, be it in social media, be it in the realm of politics, be it whatever platform God has given us, that we can be salt and light.
We can turn the tide in Jesus' name.
It is a perilous time.
It is a challenging time.
Everything is being shaken.
But I really felt inspired by God to write this and get this out now.
I felt divine favor in writing it and even strategies dropping into my heart and mind.
And I looked at how others have changed America.
For example, those who would be gay, lesbian, bi, trans activists, however they'd identify, they felt they're fighting for freedom, for equality, for their agenda.
They've been active and they brought about radical change.
Radical feminists and others, pro-abortion, they feel they're fighting for women's rights, et cetera.
They brought about radical change.
The leftists, Marxists in our schools, they brought about radical change and they did it without the Holy Spirit.
They did it without the Lordship of Jesus.
They did it without the Bible.
What about us with the Holy Spirit, with the Bible, with the Lordship of Jesus?
And remember, as dark as things are, two years ago, we saw the overturning of Roe v. Wade, something that many were sure would never, never happen.
The pro-life movement is healthy and vibrant.
This is the moment we've got to seize.
And the campus protests, the rising tide of anti-Semitism makes clear how stark the battle is, how clearly the lines between light and darkness have been drawn.
People are not our enemies.
We love people.
Jesus died for them.
We want to see them come to know the truth.
But in a democratic republic like America, we have every right to advocate for our views.
And through the gospel, we can turn the tide.
We can turn the tide.
What a powerful thing.
And this book is a powerful book as well.
This is Turn the Tide.
How can they get this?
Call right now and get it.
That's right.
You can call us at 1-888-988-1588.
Or you can go to jimbakershow.com.
And this is through our Charisma affiliate.
You can go and find this book.
There's two questions on the back of this book that he answers so beautifully in this book.
And it says, how can a spiritual outpouring in the church become a cultural awakening in society?
And how can we move from revival to reformation?
And he made a statement at the beginning of what he was just saying.
He said, we have to have a revival or we're going to die.
That's right.
That's why I'm here today.
That's right.
If we don't have, if we don't move back to God, we're finished.
The nation is finished.
I believe that.
And a lot of people are declaring America is through.
And I won't accept it.
Until I die, I'm going to preach the gospel.
And let's turn everything over to Jesus.
And I want everybody to get this book, Turn the Tide.
Now, all you have to do is call.
That's right.
Call our number.
And on that website.
Through the Charisma affiliate.
Yep.
They'll hit the banner that says shop our affiliates and they'll find Charisma and then they can find this book popped up right there.
It's very, very simple.
And you can get that book.
It'll come in just a few days.
That's right.
Charisma will ship it right out to you and you'll be able to get this book.
Turn the Tide by Dr. Michael Brown.
I am so concerned that America has come to the end.
And there are a lot of people fighting for America to be abolished.
And in turn tides, you describe how it is the church that must first experience a transformation in order to spread the message of the Reformation with the world.
Why do you believe there are so many Christians today who expect to see a change in society without it first appearing in the church?
It's our tendency.
We're looking for the shortcut that doesn't involve change in our lives.
You buy a diet book and read it, but it doesn't do anything unless you act on it.
People want to take a pill and that's going to change everything.
So we just think, well, if I can vote, I'll just vote and get the right politicians and that'll change.
Well, of course we vote.
Of course we're involved in the political process, but that is not going to bring light out of darkness.
Politics can't save a soul.
Politics can't transform a life.
Politics can't change a heart.
So while we advocate for good political leaders and good laws and things like that, we must go about changing hearts, but we can't give what we don't have.
If we ourselves have not been impacted, if we ourselves are not walking with the Lord, if we ourselves are not walking in purity and holiness, how can we help someone else?
So the awakening, the change has to begin in us.
And as it begins in us, it can spread.
I'm not looking for the other coals to get hot.
I want to be a burning coal.
I want to be a burning torch.
And then I can help set the other coals on fire.
And before you know it, we can have something that's really burning.
And that is God's heart.
He is hearing the cries of his people.
He is not refusing.
In fact, it is God burdening us.
If God is burdening us to pray for America, that means he's saying it's not too late.
It's urgent.
We hang in the balance.
The future of our nation hangs in the balance, but it's not too late.
And when you return the tide, I'm telling you, hope will arise.
You'll feel the urgency of the moment, but hope will arise.
And you'll see, whether you're at home as a praying grandmother, whether you're an educator in elementary school, whether you're a business person on the front lines, whoever you are, student on campus, you'll see you can make a difference.
You can be used to bring about change in Jesus' name.
Dr. Brown, what are we going to do to bring this change about?
Is there hope for America?
Is there hope for the church?
Can we turn back to God?
What concerns you the most as we get closer to the 2024 election?
I believe that we have to have a change in our election.
And I believe that the church can do something.
And I believe it's time we stand up for Jesus Christ and we elect leaders that believe that the gospel is the answer.
Yes, so here are my concerns as we come into the 2024 elections.
Number one, we have to remember that Jesus is Lord, that he alone is God and deserves our adoration.
We don't give our adoration to a person.
Whatever candidate we want to vote for, we realize they are just flesh and blood.
In other words, only Jesus can save America.
No political candidate, no political party can save the nation.
So let us not put our trust in a human being to do what only God can do.
That's one thing.
Secondly, let us be known more loudly and clearly as followers of Jesus than supporters of any candidate.
In other words, let our witness for the Lord be louder than our political allegiance.
And then thirdly, it's important that we do get involved, that we don't just become cynical.
And look, that comes right down to the local school board.
You know, for years, I worked with concerned Christians in the city where I live.
And we would meet with the school board.
We would meet with the city council and talk about things that were wrong in the policies, but nothing ever changed because the votes were already set before we got there.
We could fill the room with our concerns, but the vote already set.
People have been realizing, wait a second, why don't we run for school board?
If we're concerned about an ungodly curriculum in the school, why don't we run for school board?
Why don't we get involved in these ways?
It's not to force Christianity on others.
It's to just say, let's put real education back in the schools.
Let's put in what's best for kids, as opposed to just have some radical trans agenda, you know, that our main goal is to make sure a boy can use a girl's bathroom.
Let's just get some sanity back in our schools and care for our kids.
If we'll do that and get involved from the grassroots up, we can really see change come.
And we have to realize, although our trust is not the political party or a political platform, the differences between the parties have become extremely stark.
And many would say that the Democrat Party today was not even the Democrat Party of Bill Clinton years ago.
In other words, things continue to shift radically left.
Look at what's happening on the campuses.
That's a picture of what could be happening just in general society in America if the radical left has its way.
But we must not get caught up with election fever as if our hope is in a party or a politician.
Our hope is in God.
That must be our focus.
And we also vote.
If we keep our priorities straight, we can come out healthy.
How do we get political engagement without getting into political seduction?
So first thing is our priorities, that we remember gospel first, prayer, fasting, sharing the gospel, loving our neighbor, doing what's right, going after God for revival.
That comes first.
It's both and, but it's gospel first, politics second.
The second thing is we refuse to get dirty.
In other words, we in the church, even though we're going to take clear moral stands, even though we're going to vote with dedication in terms of getting involved, we refuse to get dirty.
We will not get into the name-calling and the insults and the attacking.
You know, I've been on so many social media pages of friends of mine, even ministers of the gospel, and you can't tell is this a Christian page or a worldly political page?
Because they're attacking others and mocking others.
Let the politicians fight dirty.
We don't need to do that.
All they need is our vote.
Let's step higher.
Let's step above the fray and then let's keep our emotions and heart in the right place.
I'm not going to be getting worked up every day with the latest polls and the latest news and the latest headlines.
No, no.
I'm going to be in the word.
I'm going to be worshiping God.
I'm going to be at his feet with his perspective, going out sharing the good news.
Let's keep a right perspective in all this political engagement without political seduction.
The church is not the appendage of any political party.
Changing Hearts, Not Laws 00:10:41
Politics needs the church more than the church needs politics.
That's right.
Did the House of Representatives outlaw the New Testament?
No, that's a major misconception.
The House has passed a bill, of course, has to go before the full Senate, which would categorize certain things as anti-Semitism and therefore would be under the category of hate speech.
Some have said the bill goes too far.
Some said the bill is an infringement on freedom of speech.
Some said the bill could be misused.
All of this is possible.
However, the bill itself uses the definition from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
And the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism includes examples.
Saying, say, let's say that you said the Jews killed Jesus, therefore every Israeli today is a Christ killer.
That would be anti-Semitism.
If you say, well, Israel itself is a Christ-killing nation, that would be anti-Semitism.
All it was saying was that when you take what you believe happened in the past, Jewish involvement in the death of Jesus, and now put that on Israelis or Israel today, that is a form of anti-Semitism, which it is.
So it's one thing to say Jewish leaders gave Jesus over to be crucified and God held the nation responsible for that.
That's true, according to the New Testament.
It's another thing to say every Jew through history has been a Christ killer or that Israel today is responsible for the death of Jesus.
That's all it was saying.
But there was this hysterical reaction against it.
And what's amazing is when I got on my radio show and set the record straight, people said, well, you're just covering for your race and you're just another Zionist Jew.
These were Christians.
I'm thinking there's so much junk.
There's so much anti-Semitism.
Even in the church, we've got to expose it.
You know, in your book, you say, in addition to changing laws, we must change hearts also.
Can you tell us about that?
Yeah, so it's Roe v. Wade overturned, right?
Massive, very, very important landmark decision.
We're grateful to God for that.
We appreciate President Trump's involvement in bringing in three new justices that were critical in that.
However, in the subsequent elections, there has been a real push now for even more radical pro-abortion laws in different states and even to mobilize young female voters in particular to get out and vote for abortion laws.
In other words, what you'll end up happening is that over time, unless hearts are changed as well, that the laws will go in the other direction.
That's why there's a whole chapter in Turn the Tide about changing hearts as well as changing laws.
So we must continue to get people to understand the evil of abortion.
We must continue to get people to understand the sanctity of life beginning in the womb.
We must continue to get real life stories out from mothers who aborted their children, from survivors of abortion, from people who say we're victims of rape or conceived in rape.
And now here they are with wonderful ministries and wonderful lives and say, hey, there's a purpose for every single life.
If we don't do that, then over time, what's going to happen is that you'll have new justices in the Supreme Court.
You'll have new people officiating, new people passing laws, and things will get worse than they are now.
In other words, people will look at this as some oppressive thing that's on them.
They have to break it away.
So while we absolutely advocate for the changing of laws, we must actively work to change hearts.
Same with gay lesbian activism, other things.
We must change hearts as well as change laws.
Otherwise, the positive steps will only be temporary.
But there has to be a revolution of Jesus Christ in our country if we're going to see America turn back to God.
Yeah, there has to be radical change.
You know, there are three R's that our ministry stands for.
The first is revival in the church.
The second is gospel-based moral and cultural revolution in society.
And the third is the redemption of Israel.
That's what our ministry has been about for decades.
And of course, all three of these Rs are absolutely front and center in the needs of society today.
We must have revolutionary change.
We must have radical, dramatic, sweeping change, just like we've seen it in the negative in the last generation in America.
You know, from the counterculture revolution of the 60s to now playing out and seeing the full fruit of the sexual revolution and the anarchy and all of that, the radicals of the 60s became the professors and the educators and the business leaders and the thought leaders of this generation, which is why things are so messed up.
We need a gospel-based counterculture revolution, a Jesus revolution, not based on hatred or anger or intimidation, but overcoming evil with good, overcoming hatred with love, overcoming lies with truth, overcoming the flesh with the power of the spirit.
It can happen.
It's happened in the past.
Slavery was eradicated.
Other social changes have come and they've come by the church awakening.
Now is our moment.
If not now, when?
What do we tell our kids and grandkids or great-grandkids as to what we were doing when America was being shaken?
If we just sat back and went on with life as usual, we cannot.
Now is the time to turn the tide.
That's right.
Now, how do we regain our prophetic voice to get our message out to the nations, Doctor?
Yeah, Martin Luther King actually warned about that himself, that we could just become like an irrelevant country club, an irrelevant social club.
And we've had tragically in recent years so many scandals.
We've had so much junk associated with false prophecies and other things like that.
We regain our prophetic voice by a fresh encounter with God, by deep repentance beginning in the church.
1 Peter 4, judgment begins with the house of God.
Let the repentance begin with us.
Let the repentance begin with our leaders.
Let us have a fresh encounter with God.
Out of that fresh encounter with Jesus, the light of Jesus burning bright inside of us and with us hearing from heaven afresh, not filtered through the lens of the world and politics and corruption, but a fresh encounter with God.
God can start speaking through us again and we can regain that prophetic voice.
It starts with repentance in our house.
From there, it can spread out and touch the world.
You know, Maro, it's critical that we are the lighthouse of this world.
You know, there's a lot of darkness and a lot of people are saying, well, where do I turn to?
The church must be that lighthouse amongst the horrible storms in which the world's facing right now.
Absolutely.
I would like to ask you this question.
I know you touched on it, but can you explain how we can become the salt and the light of the educational system and let alone society itself?
Yeah, so in turn, the tide, I have a few chapters that deal with our families, raising children, and the educational world.
So we cannot simply give it over to the world and then just think that we're going to get good results.
We give the education system over to the world and then we complain when it's as dark as it is.
We have to remember that the Harvards and Yales and most of the major schools started in America centuries ago.
They were started by Christians for Christians.
First to train for ministry, then just to train people to be good Christians in the society.
So it's not a matter of turning them into Christian schools again, but it's a matter of saying, hey, why can't we get involved?
First thing is, obviously, homeschooling, super important.
It's a gift.
So many parents are able to do it.
And it's wonderful to say, hey, we want to make an impact.
But then many will be called to Christian schools.
It's often sacrificial.
It's often something you have to do for lower salary than you could make in the world.
But many will be called to that.
That's just as sacred a calling as going on the mission field or preaching behind the pulpit.
So maybe you're called to be an educator, administrator, a school teacher.
In Christian schools, we must have this holy countercultural movement.
But why stop there?
What about being called into the education system?
When you look at the libraries and our children's schools from elementary school through middle school and high school, you'll find that so many times the librarians have a radical agenda.
And you look at the books that are there for the kids to read, and they're totally slanted in ways that what actually be some places completely inappropriate.
You couldn't even read the content in public, and yet they're in the schools.
You have administrators who have very clear agendas and mindsets.
They want to see a certain type of education.
What if we get involved there?
And once we are in the higher-level academics, we have to determine, I am going to speak.
If enough of us speak, we can't be silenced.
One professor in Australia, who was a respected scientist, challenged some of the status quo on climate change and then was blacklisted.
He said we have to practice kamikaze academics, meaning speak up.
And if we get fired, we get fired.
But if enough of us will stand and enough of us will speak up, we can make a difference.
Major surveys were done on our university campuses.
The Harvard Crimson, which is one of the student newspapers at Harvard, did a survey of faculty and found that those who identified as liberal versus conservative, very conservative, it was roughly 500 to 1.
Others had statistics like 120 to zero in terms of faculty representation, conservative versus liberal, and the conservatives were the zeros.
This is not the way it's always been.
So somehow there's been a takeover in the schools with people with other ideologies.
Let's come in.
Again, this is not a matter of trying to enforce Christianity in a secular school.
It's simply saying, let's get back to teaching classical education.
Let's get away from this radical Marxist agenda.
The long march, communists talked about this, the long march through the educational system has taken from the 60s up until now to be fully manifest.
And now, you can't deny it.
It's not just some conspiracy theory about Marxism.
It's undeniable.
It's there for everyone to see.
Well, we need our own long march back.
We live in readiness and anticipation of the Lord's return.
But at the same time, we also need a multi-generational mentality.
So let's get in it for the long haul and let Jesus come and interrupt that process somewhere along the line.
Why We Stand With Israel 00:04:21
I think one of the things that parents can do is if you're sending your kid to school, find out what they're teaching at that school.
That's right.
And you can do something about it.
And in fact, you should be sending your kids to schools that are destroying Jesus Christ, destroying the gospel, coming out against God.
So it's so important.
Dr. Brown, how do we, as the church, share God's heart for Israel during this time we are facing right now?
Yeah, I'm so glad that we get this time to focus on Israel.
What we have to do is start with scripture because as Christians, we are word-based more than anything.
We start with scripture and God's choosing of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and then the people of Israel.
And God makes clear, it's not because you're better than anybody else, but because I loved the patriarchs.
We have to show how God's pattern of faithful love to Israel, even when Israel sinned, is a pattern of his faithful love to the church, even when the church sins.
If God could cast off Israel, he could cast off the church.
We remind them that Jesus is Jewish, that the apostles were Jewish, that the gospel is Jewish-based, and that he's returning to Jerusalem.
If God is finished with Israel, as some say, why is he returning to Jerusalem?
Why does Paul say that on the fullness of the Gentiles coming in, that all Israel will be saved if God is finished with Israel as a people?
Why does God himself say in Jeremiah 31, no matter what Israel does, I will still preserve them as a people.
Why does Paul write that even though the Jewish people may be enemies of the gospel at the moment, they are beloved for the sake of the fathers, for the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.
This is written in the word.
It is God who scattered, who regathers.
We help people to understand that when God blesses, no one can curse.
When he curses, no one can bless.
When he smites, no one can heal.
When he heals, no one can smite.
When he scatters, no one can regather.
If he scattered the Jewish people in his anger, who has regathered them?
It must be God himself.
He has brought them back to the land, imperfect people, just like there's an imperfect church, there's an imperfect Israel.
He's brought them back to the land.
He's reestablished them, as he said to the prophet Ezekiel.
Even in unbelief, he brought us back so he could pour out water upon us, his water of life and the gospel upon us.
And the church needs to see the reason Israel is so hated, because this is the manifestation of God working in the earth.
The reason Jerusalem is under such controversy is because this is the chosen city to which the Messiah will turn and return.
And specifically, God says in Isaiah 62, to give him no rest and to give ourselves no rest until he establishes Jerusalem as the praise of all the earth.
So these are prophetic things.
These are spiritual things.
These have to do with the integrity of God.
The land of Israel given back to the Jewish people, according to Psalm 105, is by God's eternal oath and is confirmed over and over in scripture.
So to be faithful to the scriptures, to be faithful to the Lord, be faithful to the Messiah's own people, we stand with Israel.
And because we love Israel, because we love the people of that region, we realize that most of the Arabs, they're cousins to the Jewish people.
We pray for their well-being, and we know that most of them have been raised in the deception of Islam.
We want to see them come to salvation.
It's not either or.
It's both and.
That's right.
That is the goal of this.
Believer, you are a Christian, which means you understand and you believe that Christ died for everybody on that cross.
We must be actively praying that anybody who can turn to the gospel will turn to the gospel, Mondo.
And that's the message we have been seeing.
That, you know, this book is titled beautifully, Turning the Tide, because there has been a mindset that says, hey, you know what?
Crazy Worship Breaks Out 00:02:19
We simply want a group of people to believe.
No, we want all groups of people to believe in the gospel.
For God so loved the world.
That's right.
You know, you can't forget that scripture, John 3, 16.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.
Listen, that's the greatest gift that we can have, that he loved the world enough to give his beloved son to die on the cross for our sins.
It makes me think of this, that, and I say it almost on every program because it made me think about you used to talk about this 26 years ago.
You still talk about this now, that Jesus died at the cross, not to get even with you, but to get even with this sin that this nation and that you carry.
He loves you.
He's crazy about you.
And if there's going to be a reformation, a transformation, we have to come to the note to understand that he died for all of us.
For all have fallen short, he said.
Listen, we all have made mistakes.
We've all committed sins.
But the greatest thing that we can have is the power of forgiveness of our sins to be restored with the Father.
Listen, if I was you, I would go to the website right now, jimbakershow.com, get this book today, Turn the Tide, How to Ignite a Cultural Awakening.
We need this more than ever before.
And what gives me the hope is that universities are marching and they're burning and they're looting and they're doing all these crazy things.
At the very same time, we're seeing universities, you know, break out in worship.
And I'm talking about thousands of young people.
Matter of fact, I saw a headline the other day.
Over a thousand young people gave their lives to Christ and got baptized at the beach.
I'm telling you, where sin abounds, much more grace abounds.
But listen, you want to get this book today.
You're going to support this ministry, but you're also going to support Dr. Michaels Brown's work and what he's doing.
Go to the website, jimbakershow.com, or better yet, we want to answer your questions and give us a call, 1-888-988-1588.
Be Ready Now 00:06:36
You know, once patient is the most important thing that you can do is know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior because the end is near.
I mean, we're in a mess.
I don't read about America in the Bible too much.
So I'm worried America may be disappearing, but we need to know Jesus.
We need to be right with God.
Yes.
And we need to have Him in our heart.
But the next thing to having Jesus in your heart is to be able to be ready when food is going to start running low and it's already running low.
Yeah.
And I encourage you to put in stock every month, every week, if possible.
And you can do this right now by calling us and ordering your food.

25 year shelf life.
Yeah.
You know, we had a lot of churches reach out to us and they're saying, well, how can we be prepared for our communities?
We want to be prepared for humanitarian aid.
We're seeing flooding across the nation right now.
We want to ensure that we are able to feed our communities.
We actually made it very simple with New Mana.
You can go on the website and there's a button that says how to get prepared.
If you are a church, just go on that.
You can fill out your information.
They will work directly with you.
Mondo, we've seen the church provide more humanitarian aid and we want to ensure that we are the lighthouse for the world.
Whenever there is a problem, we want to be the one feeding them.
Whenever there are those who need clothes, we want to be the ones clothing them.
When there are those in prison, we want to be the ones visiting to them because we truly follow the core principles of the gospel.
You know, one of the things that makes me think about how this ministry was able to bring food to the areas of disaster zones.
And even last night, I was watching the news late last night because there was a tornado coming through the area.
And so many areas right now are being affected by this weather.
So many people are out of power right now.
Our ministry has partnered with great products to bring you a peace of mind to be ready in case of an emergency.
Lion Energy is one of the companies that we have been working for almost 15 years now to bring you a security, to have a fuelest generator ready in case your power goes off.
And yesterday during the news, they were saying your power is going to be out about a week to two weeks.
Make sure you have light, make sure you have food, make sure you have water.
And this ministry, we have done the research to bring you the very best.
Yet for emergencies, the church is the answer.
I will build my church.
Oh, I love that scripture, right?
Because I want to tell you something.
The church is the lighthouse.
The church is a peaceful place where people will go and get rescued.
Right now, churches are calling and asking, How do we become part of the partnership with New Manna so our churches can be prepared?
This is what you need to do: write this number down: 1-888-988-1588, and get the information that you need.
And when you're ready to make the decision, you can do it right away and make sure that you know that we're standing with you.
Amen.
It's so important to be ready.
And I've seen a vision of the last days, and I know there's going to be great hunger.
And I'm believing God that people will store up their food and have a pantry, a survival pantry in your house.
You can start it today by calling us on the phone, and it will ship out to you immediately.
Call us right now, 1-888-988-1588.
