Bible's Hidden Gods
00:02:22
|
|
| Rabbi, set the stage for us today. | |
| What is the mystery of the spirits? | |
| Okay, start there. | |
| Yeah, this is this, yeah. | |
| Today we'll lay down the foundation of that. | |
| The first thing is that the Bible speaks about gods. | |
| And the thing is that if we were alive in ancient times, the gods were everywhere. | |
| I mean, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, doesn't matter if you're in Hawaii, you're in the Arctic Circle, you're in the Sahara Desert. | |
| The gods were everywhere. | |
| There wasn't one culture that didn't have gods, which is kind of strange. | |
| Why? | |
| It's kind of a strange thing. | |
| Everybody was worshiping the gods. | |
| So what is behind it? | |
| Well, the Bible actually says what is behind it. | |
| And it starts in the Hebrew scriptures, then it goes to then in the New Testament. | |
| I'll give you an example. | |
| In Deuteronomy, it says, it says they, or the Bible says, they sacrificed to the Shedim. | |
| And I'll tell you what that is in a second. | |
| Not to God, but to gods. | |
| They didn't know new gods that had come. | |
| Now, another place in the psalm, it says they served their idols, which became a snare. | |
| They served and sacrificed their sons and daughters to the Shedim. | |
| Okay, what are the Shedim? | |
| The Shedim is what's behind the gods. | |
| What's it saying is they're worshiping gods, but there's actually entities. | |
| Shedim in Hebrew speaks of entities, spiritual beings, spirits that are law. | |
| Well, in the Babylonian language, they called them the Shedu, and they said they could be good or bad. | |
| But in the Bible, only, only bad, only bad. | |
| So behind the gods are actually entities. | |
| That's the first thing. | |
| Then the Bible gets translated into Greek, Septuagint, and they have to come up with a word that's going to speak of these Shaddim. | |
| So the word that is used in the Septuagint and then in the New Testament is the word Daimonia. | |
| Daimonia is the word we get demon from. | |
| Demonic. | |
| That is where we get it from. | |
| So Paul, now Paul says this. | |
| He says, he says the Gentiles or the pagans are offering up to they sacrifice to the Daimonia. | |
|
Spirits in Mythology

|
|
| Now, these are the Shaddim. | |
| It's the same entities, but it's saying that behind the gods are these. | |
| That's where we get that word from. | |
| And so what it's saying is it wasn't just imagination. | |
| I mean, there's imagination and people come up with things, but what it's saying, there's a link between these gods and goddesses and actually spirits. | |
| And the thing is, the spirits will play on that. | |
| They'll play on the mythology. | |
| They'll play with it. | |
| And also, the mythologies will even, in some cases, follow that, you know, not exactly, but they'll follow. | |
| So actually, we're going to see as we go on that even the mythologies of things that of gods that are here now are going to be things are going to be revealed and are actually unfolding in America. | |
| So that's the first part. | |
