The Pale Horse of Death

| There's a question I wanted to ask about we're talking about the four horsemen and we got almost to the end of the horses, of the four, of the four horses. | |
| And then so we have this fourth horse and it was the pale, greenish, pale. | |
| The Bible calls it the color of a sickness. | |
| Yeah, chloros. | |
| Yeah, right? | |
| Yeah. | |
| Oh, you know everything. | |
| Oh, it's a sickly green color. | |
| It's chloros is the word that's used there. | |
| And it's the idea that this is a diseased presence that is spreading throughout the world. | |
| His name was death and hell, and that word death translates plague or pestilence. | |
| Yeah, Thanatos is the name of the entity. | |
| He uses the weapon Therion, as I mentioned on that excerpt. | |
| But Hades follows with him. | |
| And I love the word that is used for followed. | |
| It's acolyoteos. | |
| And it implies someone who is following you because I just think you're the greatest thing ever. | |
| Acolyte. | |
| Acolyte. | |
| This is a fanboy. | |
| Imagine Hades, the god of the underworld, being a fanboy of this entity, Thanatos. | |
| But you know how? | |
| Oh, my God. | |
| There's a story. | |
| A story in the Greek religion of how Thanatos is tricked and tied up, and so nobody dies. | |
| And Hades complains to Zeus because, hey, you know, I'm the king of the underworld, but I'm not getting any new customers here. | |
| So they had to let death loose again. | |
| So this makes sense. | |
| And again, this is why when we started looking at this and started into our study of the book of Revelation, Sharon pointed out, well, okay, Thanatos, a god in the Greek pantheon. | |
| Hades, a god in the Greek pantheon. | |
| The other three must likewise be gods in the Greek pantheon. | |
| And sure enough, I think they are. | |
| Because I think in the first century, the churches of Revelation, who received all of these letters, all of these, this word, they lived in a pagan environment. | |
| They understood that these were Greek gods. | |
| One of their earliest Christian theologians, Irenaeus, who studied under Polycarp, who was a disciple of John, who wrote Revelation, actually, when he was speculating on the nature of the Antichrist or who the Antichrist might be, decided that the number of the beast, 666, probably came from the Greek or the Latin name Titan, the old gods of the Greeks. | |

| Titan was probably the name of the Antichrist. | |
| But then he added this. | |
| He said, but if we were meant to know the name, God would have revealed it to John. | |
| So let's not get too tied up in speculation here. | |
| Now, but the point is that they understood that the gods of the pagans were real entities, fallen angels. | |
| So this fourth horseman was given the power over a fourth part of the earth. | |
| Yeah, given power. | |
| He didn't take the power. | |
| He was given the power. | |
| And I think part of that is mankind right now, all throughout history, man, fallen man, we're all born sinful. | |

| I think right now that the return to paganism is causing large groups of human beings to actually invite these entities in. | |
