Sin, Death, and the Grave Overcome 00:02:17
Candace, what is ascension living?
You talk about that.
Okay, so we talked about the resurrection, right?
The resurrection is powerful.
And that's you cannot call yourself a Christian unless you understand the resurrection, right?
It's the resurrection that is the finality of the fact that we are Christians.
That's what we believe: that our Savior resurrected, therefore, there is an eternal life.
That's right.
Right?
And therefore, sin, death, and the grave have been overcome.
But that's the real essence of the resurrection.
It's that sin, death, and the grave was overcome.
And we see this in the book of John.
After Jesus resurrects, right, Mary meets him at the tomb, and then she grabs hold of him and he says, Don't cling to me.
I haven't yet gone to the Father.
Yes.
So she wants to cling to him in fear.
Right.
And according to, and then that whole chapter I have on fear, she wants to cling in fear because she's like, I'm going to lose you.
You know, like, I have you now again, and I'm going to lose you.
He says, Don't touch me.
Because I have not yet gone to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.
And then we know 40 days later, he ascended, right?
So ascension living is understanding the power of ascension, not the power of the resurrection.
See, our daily living as Christians is that sin, death, and the grave has been overcome, and we rejoice in that, but there's more to the story.
Where are you positioned now?
And your position from here, sin, death, and the grave didn't resurrect you back to the earth, right?
Sin, death, and the grave brought you to a place where then the ascension took you to your proper seat.
If he's seated there, and we, in essence, are his body, he's the head, and we're his body, and we're seated with him, then ascension living is what the focus of the church needs to be.
We're still talking about how to defeat sin, death, and the grave.
That should be yesterday's sermon.
Right?
That's the story of the Christian, right?
Right?
Sin, death, and the grave.
The power of sin is defeated, therefore, we're now properly positioned.
How do you now live your life from the ascension standpoint?
Different Kinds of Warriors 00:00:55
What truths do we have to know and understand that we're properly positioned within?
How do we do warfare from the third heaven down into the second and the first?
Right.
Instead of trying to be a ninja and battle everybody in this direction, right?
Okay, and God's given us tools for that, but there's also different kinds of warriors, isn't that right, Pastor Mondo?
Right?
You have ground pounder warriors, then you have the aviators, right?
Okay, I mean, there's different kinds for different purposes, right?
Okay, so the ascension living teaches us how to look at things from an aerial view and how to deal with demon forces from that direction, which, of course, are the footstool of our feet.
They're under our feet, right?
See, when we talk about warfare, we need to assess where are we in this process and who exactly are we fighting?
And why are we fighting the demonic forces that have already been defeated?
That's it, man.
Right on.
