Marxists In Our Schools
00:05:29
|
|
| How did we arrive at the present immoral state? | |
| Well, I would say that's two part, Pastor. | |
| First, the church abandoned its first love, and that is to be a light and salt in the culture. | |
| And we kind of pulled back in really engaging this culture. | |
| We allowed our education establishment to go from where it was two centuries ago, which was predominantly a Christian-based education system. | |
| We abandoned it in the last century to the likes of John Dewey, who, of course, was the father of modern progressivism in this country. | |
| And he brought in Marxists and he tried to redefine the education establishment by putting so-called professionals in charge of curriculum and putting aside parents' choices and local communities' choices and churches' choices in the education of our children. | |
| And of course, the media is totally co-opted. | |
| And that happened not by happenstance. | |
| It's interesting. | |
| One of the Frankfurt School Marxists that was brought over by John Dewey back in the 30s after Adolf Hitler took over Nazi Germany, they came and they planted these Marxists, these professors for the most part in our Ivy League schools. | |
| And one of them even went into Hollywood with the intent of using the film industry to manipulate the American population against its God and to promote the ideas that Marx had promoted long ago. | |
| Now, the idea that he got this from, or he got this really from Lenin, who was very effective in the former Soviet Union in using the film industry in that country to manipulate the population. | |
| And of course, when they came here in the late 30s, mid to late 30s, we were a nation locked in, of course, the Great Recession, the Great Depression. | |
| We were a nation that was facing war, World War II. | |
| We were a nation that really needed help. | |
| And these Marxists saw the opportunity of using film to seed their radical ideas in a way that would cause them to be favored and to disfavor. | |
| And of course, as some people have tracked through history, you had the likes of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the president at that time, turned a blind eye to the Marxists that were coming into this country. | |
| And he, in fact, when there was a hearing, a series of hearings by a U.S. House of Representatives on un-American activities, this happened in the mid to late 30s and continued all the way to the 50s, Roosevelt was confronted by the members of the House of Representatives and said, look, you know, we see these Marxists, | |
| well-known Marxists, spies from the Soviet Union, even in our government. | |
| And Roosevelt said, no, don't pay attention to them. | |
| What I want you to do is to focus on the Nazis. | |
| Well, it's interesting that President Hoover, after his service, he made some interesting comments about that very choice. | |
| What I would say is a Hobson's choice, and that is, on one hand, you can either favor the Soviet Union, which are Marxists, or you can favor the likes of Adolf Hitler, which is arguably an insane, demonic dictator. | |
| And what eventually happened is when Hitler attacked into the Soviet Union, Roosevelt said, Well, we're going to favor the Marxists and we're going to send them supplies through the Lin-Leased Agreement, and they're going to be our allies in the war. | |
| That's probably more background than you want, but Americans need to appreciate the history that brought us some of the radical changes to the institutions that we have. | |
| We opened our shores to a lot of Marxists, and as a result, they took captive not only the media and the education establishment, but they sank deep roots into our labor unions, into a lot of organizations in this country. | |
| They went after the churches and so forth. | |
| We don't have enough time to go into a lot of these details, but these are the things that I begin to address in the new book. | |

13 Goals to Reverse Moral Decline

|
|
| But with regard to collision course, it's critical to appreciate that we are indeed, in my estimation, on a moral decline. | |
| We're heading in a very wrong direction. | |
| And yet, I've outlined in the book 13 very specific goals that call upon the body of Christ to begin to reverse this. | |
| But you can't do it by sitting at home and not engaging with your church, not engaging with your neighbors, not engaging with your government. | |
| We need that salt and light influence throughout the culture. | |
