Global Shutdowns Compared
00:02:12
|
|
| COVID has shut down many businesses and churches over the last year. | |
| Think about this. | |
| There's only been, to my knowledge in world history, and we're talking about world history, two global shutdowns. | |
| One, the days of Noah. | |
| In the days of Noah, eight members of his family, Noah would be the eighth, are in a wooden vessel, a boat, locked up, unable to get out, unable to go out in public. | |
| And actually, their entire shutdown lasted a little over one year. | |
| COVID comes along, and what do they say? | |
| You need to stay inside. | |
| And it's not just the United States. | |
| It's not just China. | |
| It's the entire world. | |
| Because a lot of times when we read that verse of scripture where Jesus said, as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the time of the coming of the Son of Man. | |
| We look at eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, and we just think that's the signs. | |
| But you have to go back to Genesis 6, Genesis 7, and carefully look. | |
| Violence was in the earth. | |
| Jesus didn't talk about that. | |
| The entire population had become corrupt. | |
| Jesus didn't mention that. | |
| There were giants in the earth. | |
| Jesus didn't mention that. | |
| And so when you look at this and you understand that the flood shut down the world, COVID shut it down. | |
| And Jim, here's the weird part. | |
| This is, of course, this is the first of a new year. | |
| But they're already saying that it will probably continue. | |
| Shutdowns will continue till about March or April, which is Passover to Passover. | |
|
Food Storage Strategies

|
|
| And so it will be a year period when they finally think, hopefully, that they're going to get control of this with whatever methods they're going to use, or enough people catch it where you get what's called herd immunity. | |
| I don't know where that term came from. | |
| So we're living in the days of Noah. | |
| And let me say something, Jim, that people don't often think of. | |
| Noah not only, and I know I don't want to take this out of context or out of the setting of the story, but it is a point of interest, that Noah had a floating houseboat is what it was. | |
| And I want you to imagine that he had to feed animals and he had to feed his family with food that was not going to exist on earth, which means they had to dry the food and they had to store it up in the boat to ride out the storm. | |
| And here's the deal, and I think I may have shared this with you one time on your program. | |
| For people to be prepared, to me, it's not a matter of, do I think that we go through certain amounts of the tribulation? | |
| That's an issue to consider. | |
| However, for me, for my family, it's about the New Madrid fault line. | |
| If the New Madrid fault line ever gets to a 7, 5, to an 8, and it takes out the bridges and railroads and the airports, there is no food coming from Midwest to the East Coast of the United States. | |
| Because our breadbasket is, well, we do have food in farms up in Maryland. | |
| You see corn and grains in Ohio. | |
| So it's not totally out. | |
| But where it's distributed from of what a lot of us eat will come from the Midwest, come from California. | |
| The almonds and some of the grapes and some of the date trees come from California. | |
| So what would we do? | |
| And that's why I tell people, it's not a lack of faith to be prepared. | |
| Noah had to prepare one year. | |
| And I know it's a different setting. | |
| And again, I'm not trying to stretch a prophetic story here. | |
| But I thought about it one day and I said he had to have enough food to take care of the animals and his whole family for over, over, well over one year, which means they were prepared for a flood. | |
| So I would tell people that because, you know, the tribulation is the wrath of God, but there's selective judgments going on already in the United States. | |
| And so they tell California, I preached out there quite a bit. | |
| They keep telling them. | |
| Now, the big one's coming, and most churches that I know have water and food in storage areas in case that big one hits while a church service is going on. | |
| They even have medical supplies. | |
| And if you don't prepare, you're not a prudent person, according to the book of Proverbs. | |
| And I'm saying that because when I did that 2 CD album, I went to history and the Bible to show people why and where people had to be prepared. | |
| And if I can use this for another example, when COVID came, Hawaii ran out of toilet paper. | |
| Well, they hit the internet, and pretty soon all 49 states in the mainland were running out of toilet paper. | |
| I mean, it was crazy. | |
| They were selling toilet paper on the internet for $100 a roll. | |
| I mean, I'm like, people, my grandparents used Sears and Roebuck magazines in outhouses years ago. | |
| I'm not trying to be crude, but it's true. | |
| So you don't know your history. | |
| And the point is that even in our town, a shipment of food would come in, and people were so afraid of being locked up for 14 days, and maybe they'd have to stay in there 30 days. | |
| They were afraid they couldn't get out. | |
| They didn't know if the government was going to say you can't even go to the store for a week. | |
| So it was crazy here in Cleveland, Tennessee. | |
| It would fill up. | |
| I mean, within about five hours, shelves empty, truck come in, and people were waiting outside. | |
| And I thought, oh, my goodness, this is just a virus. | |
| Imagine what would happen in an earthquake. | |
| And I'm not one, I'm not, I'm not a, if you listen to my teaching, I try to stick to the Bible. | |
| I try to stay away from, you know, conspiracy theories. | |
| I try to stay very sound in what I believe. | |
| But the longer I live and the older I get and what I feel in my spirit, I know that America cannot pass the laws we have passed that are abominable for God and eventually not see fires, earth, wind, and fire. | |
| It's going to happen. | |
| And it will happen, Jim, before the great and terrible day of the Lord. | |
| According to Joel 2, blood, fire, and pillars of smoke are volcanic eruptions. | |
| And it says before the great and terrible day of the Lord, which is, according to most scholars, the greater part of the tribulation. | |
| So I don't know why I wanted to share that, but I do want to say, and I'm not trying to promote something here, but we do have some of the food that you have available there, which is excellent. | |
| And people, if you're going to get something, get something in habit so that you don't get caught up in a panic. | |
| If the hurricane comes through, the flood comes through, the bridges are out. | |
| Don't be caught up in a panic. | |
| And that way you at least have peace. | |
| It is not a lack of faith to be prepared because we don't know when the Lord will return. | |
| We don't know when. | |
| It could be months, weeks, it could be years from now. | |
| And so we will have to learn to walk by faith, spend a lot of time in prayer, fellowship with one another, depend on one another, depend on Jesus. | |
