Grace and Purpose
00:02:54
|
|
| You say in the teaching that God gives us the right people who can see who we are. | |
| Can explain what that means. | |
| Yeah, you know, you know, the Bible, like for instance, in 1 Timothy, no, so excuse me, 2 Timothy 1, 9, 2 Timothy 1, 9. | |
| Paul said to Timothy, we are called according to his grace and purpose, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. | |
| So Paul said, grace and purpose. | |
| So purpose is what's written in our books, the book I was talking about. | |
| Grace is the empowerment to fulfill that purpose. | |
| See, in other words, whatever you're really destined to do, whatever you were built for, whatever was written in your book, there is a grace that has been waiting on you to discover that and step into that. | |
| And so the way that I know I'm living out my purpose or what's in my book is because there's grace attached to it. | |
| There's grace at that. | |
| And I tell people, to me, I mean, they're not exhausted, but there's at least five, there's at least five signs that you have discovered your purpose that has grace attached to it. | |
| Number one, you enjoy it. | |
| God doesn't send it to do what you don't like. | |
| He actually built you to like what you're called to do. | |
| Now, he may have to change your heart, but the bottom line is you will greatly enjoy. | |
| So you'll enjoy it. | |
| Number two, you'll find out that you actually have gifts to do it, that you discover gifts you didn't know you have because that's what grace does. | |
| It gives you certain gifts. | |
| Number three, you will find out that you're good at something. | |
| Like when I began to write books, I found out I could write books. | |
| I didn't know I could write books. | |
| I found out I was pretty good at it. | |
| Okay, the fourth one I tell people is you can make money doing it. | |
| See, Pete, this shocks people. | |
| I said, God loves for you to make a living doing what you love to do. | |
| And so whatever your grace to do, because so many people I know, they spend their entire life doing something they hate to make a living. | |
| I believe God would have graced us to do something that we love to do and we're allowed to make a living doing it. | |
| And then number four, number five, this is the one you're speaking of. | |
| Whatever we're graced to do, whatever our purpose is, there will be others that bear witness to that. | |
| Like Peter and John, the Bible says they bore witness to the apostolic grace that was upon Paul and Barnabas, and they gave them the right hand to fellowship. | |
|
Bearing Witness and Being Launched

|
|
| John the Baptist bore witness to who Jesus was and therefore was an instrumental part of launching him into the ministry and testifying and bearing witness to him. | |
| And so many times God will give us the people around us or bring us into contact with people that will recognize who we are by the Spirit and they will encourage us and they will help us to be launched because that's the part of the grace that's on our lives. | |
