How Do We Win The Battle In Our Minds - Real Talk Kim
|

Time Text
God's Not a God of Chaos 00:06:29
But Kim, you talk about the voices that have followed us all the way through adulthood.
And those voices are keeping us from God's destiny.
So how do we win the battle taking place in our minds?
You know, I think a lot of our voices come from society.
You know, we are a social media driven world.
I was raised in religion.
A lot of mine was from religion.
Just I thought God was a mean God.
I thought that he would put you in the corner for everything you did.
I thought he was like people.
And so over time, what we have to realize is the enemy is not fighting us because we're weak.
He's fighting you because you're strong.
The enemy knows everything about your future.
And he knows.
I always say this, thieves don't rob empty vaults.
Like the enemy's not going to fight you or your family if there's not something he knows that if you ever get revelation of who you really are in God.
It don't matter how old you are.
It don't matter how many times you've fallen.
It doesn't matter if you were in special age your whole life.
It doesn't matter if you've ruined your family to addiction, lost your wife, your kids.
It is never too late if you swung on a pole in order to take care of your children as a single mama.
It does not matter to our heavenly father.
He is the kind of God that when you finally just surrender everything over to him and you're like, you know what, God?
And when I began to surrender, I began to surrender even my will and my emotions.
I started praying specifics, man.
I mean, pray in specifics.
I went from praying for my ex to get killed with the train to Lord, heal me, right?
I wanted more of God.
So I think what we have to do is we have to delete, almost like reboot.
And that's what this pandemic has done for us.
It's given us a chance to reset because some of us were in a pandemic before the pandemic, right?
We needed to deal with some things and we got busy with life and couldn't deal with them.
And so we have to begin to delete the voices.
Maybe your dad told you you weren't enough.
Maybe your ex ran off with your best friend and you're over here thinking it's because of your big thick thighs and your big nose.
If you would have been different, if I just knew what I'd done wrong, then I could have fixed it.
No, rejection was a release.
So I think when you start looking at things the way God sees them, you know, he says, be still and know that I am God.
He says, in the midst of a fight, just put a praise on it, right?
He's going to be right there for you.
In Jeremiah 29, 11, he says, for I know the plans that I have for you, saith the Lord, plans to bless you and not harm you, give you a future.
And I hope there are 8,000 promises in the word of God for you because God knew that we were going to go through in fear.
Their fear is in the Bible 365 times.
Fear not, fear something.
And it's because God knew that we'd be in pandemics, that we'd walk through divorces, that our children would go wayward, that we would struggle with panic attacks, that we would struggle with health issues, feeling weary.
He knew it.
And he's given us one fear not every day for 365 days.
He says, don't get weary and well doing for a due season.
That due season, y'all, is not on a calendar.
It's because you pushed through when you wanted to lay in that bed and throw the pillow over your face and allow a season in your life to define your lifetime.
I'm telling you something.
Anything that is in your past is not a part of your future.
And God wants to show out through you.
Listen, I love this about God is that he will literally take people with the worst past and create the best futures because when you go to hell, you listen, you come out on fire.
When you go to hell, you don't care what nobody else thinks about you.
You made it, right?
And so you know how to come through something.
And so that's what you have to do.
You have to delete the noise.
Delete what your daddy said about you.
Realize that hurt people hurt people.
So all those negative voices that you're listening to, ain't nobody going to ever love you.
Ain't nobody going to ever love you.
I loved you more than anybody will ever love you, right?
Those negative voices, those things that the enemy wants you to hear.
See, the enemy cannot take you out.
So he's trying to wear you out, right?
He's trying to make you stay tired.
That's why you can't sleep at night.
That's why you're trying to take Ambient and you're walking around with Xanax and you're numb.
You can't even praise your way through because you can't even move.
You're so numb and you're allowing a season in your life to become a sentence.
And so, man, you have to, if you don't learn how to talk to yourself, if you don't learn how to love yourself, if you don't learn how to praise your way through yourself, if you don't let, even if you feel like a turtle stuck in peanut butter, get your legs moving and don't waste your hell.
Change anything that is causing you chaos and confusion because God's not a God of chaos and confusion.
And begin to pray specifics like I did.
God, give me courage to let go of things that are holding me back.
Because in reality, y'all, we're the ones sabotaging our life because we're allowing a moment in life to become a monument.
And we won't let those days go.
We won't stop living in the past.
We won't stop stalking them on social media.
And so we have to be the ones to get up, move our residency to a different, whole nother, I'm praising my way.
Sometimes you even got to take people that are in your VIP section, those people that have been with you.
They've been rider-dies with you.
They've told you, girl, I know you have all the reason in the world to be all jacked up.
I know, just lay in your bed, just eat your ho-ho, scratch your behind, just cry, just you're validated.
And sometimes you have to move those people up to the nosebleed.
You got to move them up to the balcony.
And you got to say, in this season, I got to get around some people that can push me to break through and not break down.
I got to get some word in my mind.
I got to put some word in my heart.
I got to turn off the Netflix series and I got to turn on some preaching.
I got to do something that's going to help pivot me.
Because at the end of the day, therapy's great.
I believe it.
I believe therapy is important, especially right now.
But at the end of the day, the therapy is not going to fix you if you don't get your heart right and start believing that you are.
You are King's Kid.
You are a masterpiece.
You are royalty.
God created you when He was creating you.
He was thinking everything that you don't like about yourself, He's going to be that's my baby right there.
Stop Staying in the Dark 00:00:41
This was going to change the world.
See, when you were born on August the 29th or August the 30th, 1972, right?
The doctors heard, but hell heard purpose, destiny, a game changer.
Oh, somebody that won't quit.
So today, that's what you got to do.
Get up.
Get your tail up and take your life back.
Take your mind back one day at a time.
If you fall, just get back up again, right?
Just stop staying there.
Stop crying over the same stuff, right?
You got to get to a place where you begin to see your future as bright and stop living in the dark.
It's all up to us.
And it happens with what we put on the inside of us.
