The Church Has Lost Its Passion For The Supernatural - Charlie Shamp

New Creation Reality 00:05:41
Can you teach us about what you write in your book?
Because you write a major portion in your book about how the church has lost the passion and the perception of the supernatural.
Well, I believe that the Western church has tried to kind of dumb down the supernatural and really made everything to be seeker-sensitive and friendly so that they feel like we can reach more people.
But Paul said this.
He said, I didn't come to you with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration and power of the spirit, that your faith would not rest in the wisdom of men, but would rest in the power of God.
And so there is a supernatural power within the gospel and through what Jesus did on the cross to bring us into what the Bible speaks of, a new creation reality.
And this new reality doesn't just cover you so that you go to heaven someday.
This also covers the area of your soul, and I believe ultimately will transpire into your physical body.
And so as 1 Corinthians 15 says, this mortality will put on immortality.
This corruption will put on incorruption.
We have been given an incorruptible seed, according to 1 Peter, that has no decay within it.
And when we were born again, we entered into a new life.
The Bible says that old things have passed away.
Behold, all things become new.
And so Jesus didn't just die for our spirits again.
He died for our physical body.
And we cover a lot of this, interestingly, in the book.
We dive right into what it means to be supernatural, what it means to be a new creation.
And it is contrary to most of what has been preached in the Western church.
But the church fathers taught a lot on the subject of the divine nature of the new creation.
And for really the first three centuries of the church, this was something that those like Polycarp and St. John spoke about that there was a supernatural DNA that is given to the new creation man that makes us altogether different.
And we know that in the book of Genesis, that the Bible says that God made us in his image and his likeness.
And man, apart from the Trinitarian experience, apart from Father, Son, Holy Spirit, is incomplete as human because you were created to be in the image and likeness of God.
And people void of their personal relationship with the Lord can never fully understand or experience what it truly means to be authentically human.
You know, one of the great saints that actually helped to canonize the scripture said that Jesus Christ became what we are so that we could be like him.
And so this whole book is really diving into being transformed in the image and the likeness of God so that we reflect his nature and we reflect who he is as his body on this planet.
As he is, as we are in this world, so as he is, so are we in this world, is what 1 John says.
And so that is what we are discovering.
That is what is available to us.
And that is what we are going to see displayed even more and more towards the end time.
And I'll tell you, Mondo, there are promises in this word.
There are things that are in the scripture that have been promised to us.
And just like Jeremiah, the book of Jeremiah and Jeremiah prophesied, and Daniel looked into those prophecies and knew the times and the seasons in which Jeremiah had prophesied were available to him, that 70-year window that the children of Israel would leave the place of captivity and enter into the promised land and go from captivity back to where they were called to be and began to pray into those things.
There are promises for these end days that we can readily read in the scripture that have not yet been fulfilled.
Things that are not just of dark nature, not just demonic, but also of restoration and revival and outpouring and things that God promised to us that have yet to be fulfilled.
And I believe that we can read these scriptures and just like Daniel read the scriptures and say, God, this is your promise.
We can also read these scriptures and say, Lord, this is your promise.
This is your time.
And Isaiah chapter 2 speaks of there being a generation that will go to the mountain of the Lord and he is going to teach them his ways.
The Way Of Faith 00:00:36
Then that mountain is going to live above all the other mountains.
And there are going to be nations that are going to flow into that.
We can look at that and say, God, this is the hour where there are going to be men and women that are so full of you that they begin to walk with you the way that Noah walked with you, the way that Enoch walked with you.
And they went into the unseen realm and began to have you teach them.
