Hunger for the Word
00:05:04
|
|
| What should we be paying attention to this year? | |
| Do you feel like God wants us to see something that's going to happen? | |
| Yeah, the way I put it is we're on the clock, and there's not a lot of time left. | |
| Back in December, right after the presidential election, I was in an intercessory meeting with my people, and the Lord gave me a vision. | |
| And I'm not one, I'm like Larry. | |
| I'm not one who normally gets revelation through vision. | |
| I just know things. | |
| So when I get a vision, I pay attention. | |
| And I suddenly had a vision of four sticks that were standing up. | |
| And I'm not coordinated enough. | |
| The fourth one was bending. | |
| And I said, Lord, what is that? | |
| And the Lord said, you have, you, the body of Christ, I'm speaking to the body of Christ now. | |
| You, the body of Christ, have four years in which to prepare. | |
| And the next thing that he said in connection with that was that you have lost the art of the tremble. | |
| In other words, we need to learn to fear God again. | |
| We've a great Santa Claus in the sky who's so warm and fuzzy that he's no longer the judge. | |
| He's no longer the lawgiver. | |
| And so we've got to learn to fear him again. | |
| But the four years and the fourth one bending, I realized several things after he gave that word. | |
| The first word that I realized was that Jesus was on earth three and a half years. | |
| Then he was crucified, resurrected, and two things happened. | |
| The glory came and the persecution came. | |
| And in preparation, the Lord has been saying to the body of Christ, wake up. | |
| We're sound asleep, people. | |
| Wake up. | |
| Wake up. | |
| We need to hunger for the word of God again. | |
| We have a generation of biblically illiterate Christians who don't know what the word says. | |
| We're not hungry. | |
| I'm a product of the Jesus movement. | |
| We never went anywhere without our sword. | |
| It was the word, the word, the word, the word. | |
| And now what we're doing is we're chasing experiences. | |
| So everybody wants to fall down and laugh and cry and call it revival, but we don't know the word. | |
| We don't know the scripture. | |
| And so we're so easily led astray. | |
| So hunger for that. | |
| Hunger for one another. | |
| You know, I want to, the first thing that the believers did when revival came was they couldn't get enough of each other. | |
| They broke bread from house to house. | |
| You know, I've got to say to people sometimes, and I do say this sometimes, you know, if you think you got baptized in the spirit and you weren't hungry to be with each other, I don't know what spirit you got. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Wow. | |
| That's so good. | |
| And then there has to be just a hunger for intimacy and purity with the Lord. | |
| Yes. | |
| You know, I'm not hungry for an experience. | |
| I'm hungry for Jesus. | |
| Amen. | |
| I'm not hungry for the next revelation. | |
| I'm hungry for intimacy with Jesus. | |
| Now, the next thing that came with that, because it was all wrapped up in President Trump, during that period of time and still now, there was all this brouhaha about never Trump, never Trump, never Trump. | |
| I had people in my church, you know, that never Trump. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Yeah. | |
| We know. | |
| And so the warning that I've been given is, yes, he is God's man. | |
| Yes, you know, he's in office. | |
| You know, we're enjoying right now a period of prosperity and blessing and freedom because for eight long years, we did not have favor from the administration for the church or for Israel. | |
| No. | |
| God deals with his people according to their relationship with him. | |
| He deals with the nations according to how they treat his people. | |
| And we have a president now that favors the church and favors Israel. | |
| It's so true. | |
| And so the Lord pours out blessing on those who favor his people. | |
| Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. | |
| Amen. | |
| Okay? | |
| And when I say God's people, I mean the church, and I mean literal Israel. | |
| So we have a president that favors both of them. | |
| Whatever you might think of Trump, I mean, he's a flawed man, he's deeply flawed. | |
| I wouldn't argue that with anybody. | |
| But we need to pray that he learns some simple scriptural principles. | |
| There's one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. | |
| The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable. | |
| You know, there's a whole lot of proverbs. | |
| And what I know, and this is a warning, you know, people have been prophesying, yes, he'll be re-elected. | |
| New Testament prophecy, Old Testament prophecy is conditional. | |
| It's conditional on how God's people respond. | |
| If you repent, then blessing will come. | |
| You know, if you sacrifice, blessing will come. | |
| If we pray for this president that he learns, that there be some changes at the level of his character, he'll be re-elected. | |
| If not, what's coming out of his mouth he won't be re-elected, and there'll be a backlash from the left like we've never seen. | |
| And we're seeing that. | |
| Yeah, he's shooting himself in the foot. | |
