Paul's Declaration 00:02:25
Now I believe that America has a destiny.
Acts 17, 16 says, While Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred when he saw the whole city given to idolatry.
Then Acts 17, Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars Hill and he said, You men of Athens, I perceive that you're too superstitious.
For as I passed by and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription to the unknown God.
Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, him I declare unto you.
I was reading this one night and the Lord said, I want you to pay attention to how Paul, I had Paul declare me to pagans.
I had him declare me as God that made the world.
He made everything, so he's the boss.
And all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth and dwells not in temples made with hands.
Neither is he worshipped with men's hands as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life and breath.
And this is the big verse right here, verse 26.
Acts 17, 26.
He made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth.
And he has determined their times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation.
Now the Amplified gives that better.
He made from one common origin, one source, one blood, all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined their allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation, their settlements, lands, and abodes.
So that means that the United States of America came to be when God ordered it to be.
And he established its boundaries.
And he gave it a destiny.
Men came here, you know, the Puritans, the pilgrims.
They came here to worship God in freedom.
And this United States of America was born in something called the Great Awakening.
Now, the Pilgrims came, the Puritans came, we know about them.
I'm not going to talk so much about them.
I want to go to the awakenings, the first great awakening.
Why did it have to come anyway?
Because the Pilgrims started out with such a good start, you know.
And a contemporary Harvard professor, remember God told me to study awakenings?
Yes.
