Leadership in Action 00:02:28
Leaders act and keep acting, as you say in your book.
Yes, Pastor.
Dr. Green.
And is it true about Donald Trump?
Does he act and keep acting?
Absolutely.
That's all we've seen is a trail of dust.
He's not sitting around in a seat.
His hours, his morning hours, way early, late at night, he continues to act.
And that's a quality that you look for in leadership because there are so many things to do during a day to impact people.
Yes.
That if you're surrounded by people, you have a large organization, you're making a lot of people decisions every day.
And one of the things that I use to define success is that you've got a lot of little wins every day.
It's not one great big thing, the one thing you've done well one time.
It's just day after day.
You've done a lot of little things right.
43 years for this man of running charisma.
It's done a lot of things right for a lot of years.
That's right.
That's success.
I think the opposite's true also.
When you look at other folks, you can see real clearly that consistently made bad decisions every day.
They just did little bitty things wrong for a lot of days.
So we want to try to see what's good about Trump.
And it's so easy to look for the good in people.
It's hard in this kind of conflict that we live in.
But if we would do that, if leaders would just find the good in their people and focus on that, not be nitpickers and not be constantly on someone's case my way or the highway, that kind of leadership, it's just limited and it will end a career quickly.
People need to be loved and they need to know where they stand with their leaders.
Dr. Green, you write about we should have godly counsel.
Yes.
Oh, I value godly counsel more than anything else.
Absolutely.
I have a board of directors that are amazing.
Yes.
Some of them are older.
Some of them, well, they're almost all older, not real old.
Like Bishop is not real old.
But Bishop's not real old.
Now, Bishop is the most amazing.
You've got to do his books.
You must.
Charisma should carry them.
Because they are the most, he has the greatest insight in leadership from behind the scenes.
Things that people have no idea what we go through.
The phone will ring and it will be the bishop.
Need Godly Counsel 00:00:39
And at that moment, I need him.
I'm going through something.
He seems to know.
But to have that godly counsel, I don't care who you are.
You know, shouldn't political leaders have that kind of counsel too?
Of course, Pastor.
More so.
The higher you go in your organization, the more counsel you need.
Some people think I've made it to the top and I'm my counsel.
And other ones that we see fall quickly because we need people who understand their role and understand that without God, they're nothing.
And without godly counsel, who else am I going to listen to?
I want to find out the people that I receive counsel from if they have a prayer life.
That if you're going to advise me, I want to know that you've got a prayer life that you've heard from God.
