Having a Form of Godliness 00:11:51
Hello and welcome to Revelation in the News.
2 Timothy 3.1 says this, but know this, that in the last days, perilous times will come, for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
Now, this is one of the important scriptures I really want you to nail down.
Having a form of godliness, but denying its power.
And from such people, turn away.
For of this sort are those who creep into the household and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts.
Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth.
If that doesn't sound exactly like our generation right now, I mean, a few of those verses particularly, but always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of truth.
It seems like, I mean, let's never deny.
We have some of the most brilliant scientists.
We have some of the most brilliant tacticians and mathematicians and just people with IQs out of this world, you know, that we can never disrespect, even if they don't agree with us politically, even if they're not on the same religion path as we are.
You can never deny their brilliance.
But it seems like they have all this information, but sometimes forget the truth.
Yeah.
So, I mean, even right now, we're seeing a country that is denying what we and the United States is calling truth right now.
So South American country Paraguay bans material on gender ideology.
Paraguay's Ministry of Education banned public schools from using or spreading materials on gender ideology, a move critics say promotes discrimination towards women and LGBT people.
Education Minister Enrique Riera said the government recognizes traditional values and the traditional family consisting of father, mother, and children.
So what you're saying is an entire country in South America is saying this is not going to be taught in our public schools.
Now they also continued on to say that it's not that we're against it, it's just we don't want this taught in our public schools.
Yeah, you said naturally we respect different options, but we're not going to instill them in our public schools.
Now this is getting a lot of pushback from the LGBT advocacy organization of Paraguay.
They said that the term gender ideology was invented by conservative groups to keep justifying violence and discrimination against women and LGBT people.
Right now we see California.
Is it California that just officially added a third gender?
Yeah, yeah.
So they're officially, they have a third gender.
Wow.
And my thing is, you know, why does a country like this come under scrutiny for not wanting to teach it whenever you should have the freedom to teach and not teach what you want?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
I mean, we're seeing a lot of things like these days.
A couple days ago, we brought up on the JBS show that in Mississippi, they're banning the book to kill a mockingbird because of it being uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, in California, we're being able to read the book I Am Jazz to a bunch of five-year-olds.
Now, what is I Am Jazz for those who don't know?
It's about this child named Jazz who started out as a boy, but then he decided that he wanted to be a girl.
And it's all about his transition and how it's normal and that, you know, you should be able to, if he was born into the wrong body, then he should be able to be called Jasmine.
So you said this is being taught to five-year-olds?
Yeah.
And a matter of fact, parents are, they're saying that they don't even have an option in the state of California.
Parents don't have an option to be able to take or pull their kids out of that specific study or that class.
So what I don't understand is why is it okay to teach some things but not other things?
You know, I know the Bible is pulled from public schools, but if we're going to start being able to teach kind of these new ideologies and these new religions, and I mean, even Islam is okay to be taught in some public schools, we should be okay with teaching all of it in school.
Well, something else that I want to point out is that we're starting to see that the media is definitely starting to control the things that we hear and the things that we see, which I know that kind of sounds like a dust statement, but we even talked about Project Veritas came out with another video where they're even saying that if Trump was impeached, that the worst thing that could happen is that Mike Pence would take over.
And the reason that it would be worse than is because of his extreme religious point of view.
So we're starting to see our country and the media control the fact that what people see and people here is that they don't want religion.
They don't want Christianity in the highest of offices.
No, we said that, but let's watch this lady actually say it herself.
Our main stories are supposed to be objective.
It's very difficult in this day and age to do that.
Why?
Because when you have something like the Charlottesville story, it's hard to portray, for instance, the president in an unbiased light when the words that are coming out of his mouth are apologetic toward whites and racists, which is what they were.
She went on to share her own feelings about the president.
I feel like Trump is a sort of an idiot in a lot of ways, like just an oblivious idiot.
Her thoughts on Vice President Mike Pence were striking.
If you impeach him, if you impeach him, then Pence becomes the president of Pence.
I think maybe possible worse than Trump.
That's why he's not going to know much about him.
Yes, I'm speaking all for it.
White white.
Pence appears.
He's extremely, extremely religious.
Extremely religious.
He at one point backed a bill that did a conversion therapy for him, which is like electric machines.
It's funny.
It's like they want to both, like, they want their cake and eat it too.
Like, they want Trump impeached, but they also don't want Paul Ryan or Speaker.
Vice President.
Yeah, it's like, you know, if you impeach him, then you're going to get Pence.
And then if you impeach Pence, you're going to get Paul Ryan.
Now, listen, if they impeach President Trump, if they can somehow manage to impeach President Trump, they're going to do every single thing in their power to try to impeach President Pence.
Which I want to say, too, that we just saw on CNN right now, they're talking that in the next few months, the Democrats could actually take over the House if the Republicans aren't able to work together, that the Democratics could take over.
And if that actually happens, it's for sure going to happen that they're going to push impeachment.
Now, Diana Fernstein isn't the only person saying something about Christianity.
Matter of fact, yes, Diana Feinstein just said a couple of months ago that a specific person's dogma lives too loudly because they don't agree with abortion.
And so we're starting to see this in the highest offices in our judicial courts that they're selecting people that have a wide, broad moral value.
Now we saw what she has to say about it.
Let's see what Bernie Sanders has to say about this.
And that is in the piece that I referred to that you wrote for a publication called Resurgent.
You wrote, Muslim, quote, Muslims do not simply have a deficient theology.
They do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, his Son, and they stand condemned.
End of quote.
Do you believe?
Do you believe that that statement is Islamophobic?
Absolutely not, Senator.
I'm a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith.
That post, as I stated in the questionnaire to this committee, was to defend my alma mater, Wheaton College, a Christian school that has a statement of faith that includes the centrality of Jesus Christ for salvation.
And again, I apologize.
Forgive me.
We just don't have a lot of time.
Do you believe that people in the Muslim religion stand condemned?
Is that your view?
Again, Senator, I'm a Christian, and I wrote that piece.
What does that say?
The statement of faith of Wheaton.
I understand that.
I don't know how many Muslims there are in America.
I really don't know.
Probably a couple of million.
Are you suggesting that all of those people stand condemned?
What about Jews?
They stand condemned too.
Senator, I'm a Christian.
I understand you are a Christian, but this country is made up of people who are not just.
I understand that Christianity is the majority religion, but there are other people who have different religions in this country and around the world.
In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?
Thank you for probing on that question.
As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs.
I believe that as a Christian, that's how I should treat all individuals.
And do you think your statement that you put into that publication, they do not know God because they've rejected Jesus Christ, the Son, and they stand condemned?
Do you think that's respectful of other religions?
Senator, I wrote a post based on being a Christian and attending a Christian school that has a statement of faith that speaks clearly with regard to the centrality of Jesus Christ and salvation.
I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that Isnomity is really not someone who is what this country is supposed to be about.
Bible phone known.
Now, that was Bernie Sanders specifically.
You know, he was really probing this man of his Christian faith.
Now, James, you actually like some of Bernie Sanders' points.
Yeah, but before when he first came out, I really did like some of his points of view.
And really, it's so strange.
It seems like such a turn for him to be attacking a whole group like this.
And so, yeah, it was disappointing because I did, you know, support him for such a long time.
We're saying this as almost a normal thing now that people are saying if you are a Christian, you are unfit to serve in our public offices.
It's just like, and it's not like we're just making it up.
Like, you can see it in multiple scenarios.
You see it with Bernie.
You see it with this other lady.
You know what I mean?
It's not like we're just fabulous.
Well, the thing is, they're not trying to beat around the bush with this anymore.
They're getting very bold.
They know they're being recorded.
They know the whole internet's going to see this.
They know the world's going to watch what they say because these are important people.
You can't deny it.
They're very important people.
So they know what they're saying is being recorded and being distributed to the masses.
So they're actually being bold with this.
And it's kind of like Jimmy Kimmel just a couple of days ago.
He was on TV and did an interview and he said, you know, I wouldn't take back anything I said.
And even if that means that Republicans and conservatives don't watch my show, he's like, I would like them to watch this show, but obviously if they don't like my opinion, then adios.
Well, what the reporter said was, you know, so for those who don't agree with you, is it good riddens?
He said, well, it's riddens.
You know, so I mean, he's saying, like, I don't care if they don't watch my show.
And he's saying, like, you know, 30, 40% of the people who watched them were the Republicans and conservatives.
So obviously his views are taking a plunge, but he doesn't care.
Great Bible Museum Stories 00:05:11
And that's the scary part is these comedians and the people who write our, you know, our newspapers, the journalists, they're supposed to be biased.
That's what makes them funny most of the time, is the fact that they can make fun of both sides of the field, or they can report on both sides of the field.
That's what makes them good reporters.
But the fact that they're now just picking one and only attacking it is what's scary.
Well, and it's exactly like what you're just reading in 2 Timothy 3, 1 through 7.
Many of those verses, I feel like, are specifically applying to our lives each day today.
You know, from having a form of godliness but denying its power.
It's much like a Christian who wears a cross.
Well, like, people wear crosses, and maybe it's just for the fact that it looks nice.
It's a fashion statement than it actually stands for.
Listen, the cross has now, truly, with a lot of people, lost the conviction that it holds in people's lives.
I mean, we've seen famous Hollywood people, and they wear big gold crosses, and they have chains, and nothing wrong against that.
If you like it, wear it.
But what I'm saying is when it just becomes a fashion piece and it holds no conviction, you really have to check what's happening.
Now, I love this last verse, verse 7.
I mean, excuse me, verse 5.
I love verse 5.
It says, having a form of godliness, but denying its power.
Now, James, you actually have something that lines right up with that verse.
Yeah, this is actually interesting because I, you know, it's part of the mainstream news or anything like that.
But there's a museum in DC.
Now, the museum, it's called the Museum of the Bible.
It's a massive new institution opening next month just south of the mall in D.C.
It is just as notable for what it includes, which is vivid walkthrough, recreations of the ancient world, one of the world's largest private collections of Torah's, a motion ride that sprays water at you, and a garden of biblical plants.
But it is also now known for what it leaves out.
The museum doesn't encourage visitors to take the Bible literally or to believe that the Bible has only one correct form.
And on the floor after floor of exhibitions, there's very little Jesus.
Wow.
Museum, which will be among the largest in a city chock full of museums.
I've been there to show you.
Yeah, D.C. has so many museums.
Great museums.
But this one presents a broad, sometimes abstract concept about the Bible.
So what you're saying is it has a form of godliness.
Exactly.
But it's denying its power.
It really is.
It's like, as I said, it's communicated through cutting-edge technology, immersive experiences.
Now, you know what?
I'm not going to say that this is a terrible thing because you know what?
People who may be atheists or don't believe in God could go to this Bible museum and get a revelation of who God is.
But the fact that they're leaving out really that the Bible is the only one true way.
I mean, it's the only good book that God gave us, and that they put very little Jesus inside of it, whatever the whole thing is really about.
That's the thing is, it's like, you know, I agree with your thought.
It's a good thing.
It's a Bible museum and it's big, and it's one of the most, I guess, technologically events museums now in D.C.
But once again, it just holds light.
And it seems like a lot of the curators aren't really focusing too much on Jesus or the literal aspects of the Bible.
It's like those people that are like, yeah, I love the Bible.
It tells great stories.
And it's probably, I think that's what they wanted the museum to be a lot like.
Just like all of the story part of the Bible and none of the actual meat of the word.
Exactly.
The Bible is full of such amazing stories.
I mean, this is stuff that some of the greatest writers, I mean, they mimic in Hollywood movies.
I mean, just because the stuff that's in the Bible is so good.
I mean, it's just really great.
I mean, it's not, obviously, not just storytelling, but it's great storytelling.
I mean, just the way it's described and the way it's written is very brilliant.
And so I would understand why someone would admire it enough to make a museum out of it.
And I think that, you know, I'll kind of fight my mind.
Is it a good thing or a negative thing?
But I think in the end, it is a good thing to have a Bible museum.
But I think when you go there and people that don't know really do need to look deeper within the actual word itself.
Sean, do you think it's doing more harm than good?
Or how do you feel about this?
And that's exactly what I want to say because I think looking at it right now, our Christian culture in America, you've really got to ask yourself, have we lost our spine?
I mean, to actually put the power of God in the whole, the whole topic of the museum is about the Bible and about God and about the life of Jesus.
But if you can even get into the guts of the Bible and tell the truth about what's going on, if the whole experience isn't leading you to Christ, then yeah, what's the point?
Yeah.
So do you think this is like a 2 Timothy type moment where it's really just tickling people's ears?
Yes, I 100% do.
Because like I said, it's like, are we losing our spine?
Are we losing our ambition to lead people to Jesus Christ?
Because you know that if you do something like this, there's going to be resistance.
You know, if you put Jesus in the National Mall, somebody's going to want to put a Bethlehem it right next to it.
But listen, we can't even manage to keep crosses up.
I don't think we're going to get whole statues of Jesus.
Now, James said that this is going to be one of the most technologically advanced museums ever.
North Korea's Cyber Threat 00:09:57
But it seems right now that technology is having some issues.
Yeah.
What do you use every day?
Wi-Fi.
Wherever you go, you use Wi-Fi.
Everybody powers your phone, your iPads.
That's this way you get information.
Well, every Wi-Fi connection is potentially vulnerable to a security flaw that allows hackers to snoop in on internet traffic.
The vulnerability is the first to be found in the modern encryption techniques that have been used to secure Wi-Fi networks for the last 14 years.
In theory, it allows an attacker within a range of a Wi-Fi network to inject computer viruses into internet networks and read communications like passwords, credit card numbers, and photos sent over the internet.
So this could get, I mean, this could steal your identity.
Yeah.
Nevertheless.
It could steal literally everything that goes through your Wi-Fi for a while.
Wow.
The so-called crack attack has been described as a fundamental flaw in wireless security techniques.
Apple, Android, and Windows software are all accessible to some version of the vulnerability, which is not fixed by changing Wi-Fi passwords.
Well, this is the thing.
If it's coded and made by human hands, it can be decoded and encrypted by human hands.
So you always have to remember that.
Every door is going to have a locksmith good enough to get past it.
It has to, in a sense, the thing is, this is 14 years of them thinking that this is a crack-proof thing.
Wi-Fi.
But it's not.
See, literally, Wi-Fi is that little signal sending all the information back and forth.
If someone can hack into that source, they can get all your info.
Literally, all your information is on Wi-Fi.
It's quite literally like every day now that we are hearing of like hack attacks, we're hearing of cybersecurity threats and people's information.
Like Equifax, just a couple weeks ago was nailed.
People's identities, social security numbers, credit cards is all out there and it's floating around.
Now, you know, there was a popular website that was in Fox News a few, I think it was, believe it's a few years ago, that actually was an escort website.
And they had taken all the information.
And what they did was they started to extort people.
Because this website is used by typically like people who have lots of money and they travel.
And so what they did was they took the names of these people and they pretty much contacted them and said, we want a certain amount of money so that your wife and kids never find out that you were on this website.
And they were very big names in there.
Yeah, exactly.
Very big names.
And so these people would pay whatever money so their wife wouldn't find out.
They're cheating on them and so their kids wouldn't have to find out, you know?
And so it's what's happening right now is people are going to be able to take information and they're going to start extorting people.
And it's crazy.
I mean, we've seen a country in and of itself come into the United States of America and what would almost feel like extortion to one of our major movie companies.
And James, what movie company was that?
Well, yeah, actually, Sony was hacked.
Sony Pictures.
Yeah.
Sony had major losses because of this.
Major losses.
Yes.
It's all with North Korea.
As a matter of fact, you know, speaking of North Korea, one of the world's, you know, everybody used to laugh at North Korea.
And, you know, saying that we used to laugh at them, it's like we really like underestimated them with their cybersecurity and cyber power.
You know, New York Times actually just put this article out saying that people aren't laughing anymore.
It's to a point that's really not even funny.
North Korea hackers attempted to steal $1 billion from the New York Federal Fund or from the Federal Reserve.
You see them, they're, you know, we, like I said, don't ever underestimate North Korea.
They're not stupid.
They may be crazy, but they're not stupid.
Just to just to cap what we were talking about, the movie was called The Interview, and it was making fun of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
And so he was so angry about it that he had people working on taking the film and were pretty much extorting it here in the United States of America.
And they successfully did that.
But now they're trying to get actual money.
Well, they're not just doing it to the United States just because we happen to be their biggest target.
Matter of fact, they were digitally looting an account out of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Central Bank, and bankers became suspicious because they misspelled the word foundation.
Yeah.
They misspelled it as foundation.
So that was a clue, a hint that something was going on.
But North Korea was still able to sneak away with $81 million.
That's absolutely crazy.
Now, we know this.
North Korea is running out of money.
So of course they're going to start trying to steal.
Well, one of the most, I think, one of the most dangerous attacks that they did was a ransomware attack.
And what it was, they brought down hundreds of thousands of computers across dozens of countries.
This was back in May.
This was back in May, 2017.
But here's the dangerous part: they took down computers in hospitals.
Yeah.
Meaning people in the hospitals that need that information flow or even so that was North Korea.
That was North Korea, yeah.
Wow.
So once again, me and actually, you know, if I could say this real quick, we were talking back in the back, and I know Pastor Jim and others have said that, you know, the future of war, the future of war, is not on the battlefield, it's on the cyber cyber.
Now, bringing up the term war, North Korea actually has what people would call an army of about how many hackers?
6,000 hackers.
Yeah.
So what they do, what they do is they find students that have like an aptitude for like computer skills and they send them to China to train them.
And then the FBI in 2012 noticed that the North Koreans were working at the UN and they were quietly taking classes in New York City colleges.
So they're like educating.
They're trying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like I said, they're crazy, but they're not stupid because they're getting these students the best training possible.
And what they're doing is they're honestly sending them to other countries and they're learning our language.
They're learning Mandarin.
I mean, so they're going to be some of the most well-educated people in their craft.
Well, here's something.
Investigators have shown that they realize North Korea doesn't really care, because there's really not a lot that anybody can do about their cyber hacks and security issues that they've been developing, because we've already implemented the most sanctions against this country and they actually end up making more money this way by hacking different bank accounts and security firms.
And all this that they know nobody's going to actually send a military after them because of these hacks.
Because it's like, does a hack Really call for military action?
So they know nobody's going to do anything, so they just carry on.
Well, like, I mean, China even said, you know, if the United States strikes first, they'll no longer remain neutral and they will back North Korea.
So, you know, if the United States were to get extorted of money and get stolen from, and we were to try to attack them, I mean, we'd have China against us.
So, what do you do at that point when someone's just stealing and no one's doing it?
They're like a bully right now.
I mean, they're a tiny guy, but they're like a bully to the whole world.
Well, the funny thing, well, I think it's the crazy thing is that, you know, all these last few months, we've been worrying about the nuclear and the EMPs, which is still very bad.
Yeah, very, very, very imminent threat.
For years and years and years, these people had a weapon almost worse than any of that, which is hacking, cyber terrorism.
They already have all that.
So, the thing is, why we've been worried about other things, they've been already training for a cyber warfare.
Go ahead.
And I was going to say, matter of fact, they've even pointed out that North Korea has been working with Iran in missile trading behind the scenes.
So, not a lot of people really know that that's going on.
And just recently, Bloomberg reported that North Korea is warning that we could be on the brink of a massive nuclear war at any moment.
So, now North Korea is not only preparing for a digital war, but they are also preparing for a very physical war, which is nuclear warfare.
John, you have more about that.
Right.
And one thing I wanted to point out is a couple months ago, I mentioned to pretty much everybody in this room is to this is like a chess game.
So, when you start seeing people evacuate their non-combatant troops, their non-military personnel, that's a big sign that war is imminent.
The U.S. military is beginning drills to evacuate Americans out of South Korea.
That's terrible.
Wow.
That's terrible.
So, it's a drill, but they are preparing for the next step.
They are preparing for war.
And I'm telling you, that is a big sign, if anything.
And patterns usually show.
Patterns usually show when stuff like this, as you said before, patterns show when this happens, it's actually underlining really going to be happening.
Right, you know.
So, remember, North Korea threatened Guam.
We didn't evacuate Guam.
Now, we're starting to evacuate people, practicing, preparing for a smooth transition to get people out of the way.
So, keep an eye out.
Something huge is about to happen.
You know, we just had a lady come to our facility here at Morningside, and she was telling us that her son is actually in the army and they're running drills preparing for war.
He called his mom and said, Mom, I just want to let you know things are getting very serious.
We're running drills and they're preparing us for war.
That is absolutely crazy.
Now, we talk about North Korea quite a bit on this show.
It's because we want to bring you the most pressing topics.
We don't want you to be left unaware so that if something were to happen, if an EMP were to go off, or if they were to actually send off a missile to come to the United States with a bomb on it, you wouldn't be wondering what the heck.
I never saw this coming because, yes, you know, our mainstream medias do talk about it, but they never really give enough time to it.
It's almost become a secondary issue because it's such a regular thing.
So, we want to keep you aware.
Make sure to get prepared.
I mean, physically, get prepared, get food items, get water items, get things that you'll know that you're secure.
That if an EMP were to go off, you wouldn't have to starve.
You wouldn't have to be, you know, going from house to house, seeing if any of your neighbors have food that you can eat with them.
This is something that you can do today.
You can get prepared, but above all, make sure to be prepared spiritually.
Promise of Truth 00:00:39
Make sure your heart's ready.
Make sure not to just have knowledge, but also have the truth inside of you.
And the truth is Jesus Christ.
That is the only truth.
That is the only place to put your feet down and have a firm foundation.
If you haven't given your life to Jesus, make sure to do that today.
Please do that today.
You can call us here at Morningside Church.
You can write in, you can email us anything.
If not, you can go down to a local church and get in a good Bible-believing church that's going to teach you the word of God, that's going to teach you nothing but the word of God, not opinion, but the whole word of God.
And I promise you, Jesus will never fail you.
Yes, perilous times will come.
Yes, the world is going crazy, but I promise if you put your foot down on a firm foundation, you will not be shaken.
