Serving Until Death
00:08:18
|
|
| You know how I shared, you know, in the last month or so about the Lord kind of pulling me short and saying you need to be helping the needy now, that God's not going to zap you during the tribulation and all of a sudden you're going to have a heart to help people. | |
| You know what I mean? | |
| That actually is a mark of your being a Christian. | |
| If you're a Christian, you're Christ-like. | |
| What would Jesus do when he sees the needy? | |
| That's right. | |
| You know, so part of my study I called is that the saints will be tested in the last days. | |
| And it has a few points that are very interesting. | |
| Do you know that I pointed out that a generation ago, it was so easy to be a Christian that you literally could go to church every week and visit your neighbors and enjoy life and sing kumbaya and slide right into the gates of heaven. | |
| Right. | |
| It wasn't even that challenging. | |
| Right. | |
| But it will be challenging now. | |
| And I actually put the point in here that I believe the church will be tested in the last days because you're not going to just slide in singing kumbaya into the gates of heaven. | |
| God is going to want to know what you're made of. | |
| What do you mean by tested? | |
| Like, what do you have any? | |
| Yes. | |
| One of the tests will be, in fact, in those chapters, Revelation 12, 13, and 14, it talks about the angels. | |
| It's like the church is going to go underground, and God is going to send preachers, angelic preachers, in the air, warning people, do not take the mark of the beast. | |
| If you take the mark of the beast, you will be damned. | |
| Do you know there will be Christians that will be tempted to say, well, God doesn't want my children to go hungry. | |
| You know, God is understanding, so we can go and take that mark and he'll forgive us. | |
| No, that is a test of the last days. | |
| And the Bible says that we have to be willing to serve him unto death. | |
| Yes. | |
| That is in the word of God. | |
| And you know, and that's exactly right. | |
| And I think, Jim, when you started teaching us a book of Revelation many years ago, and I started getting backpacks ready, grab-and-go bags for my kids, my family. | |
| And, you know, the thing is, is that, yeah, we are going to be tested in that area right there. | |
| Well, let me tell you, God showed me something. | |
| I'll tell you, sometimes we don't read further down enough to be able to get the whole story. | |
| Because you see, I shared that the separating of the sheep from the goats from Matthew 25. | |
| Part of all of that discourse. | |
| You know, this is concerning the end days. | |
| And Jesus says, I'm going to separate the sheep from the goats, the goat nations. | |
| But then he makes it personal. | |
| And I had shared this on a previous show. | |
| It says, the king will say to those on his right, Come, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundations of the world. | |
| Think about this. | |
| God has been preparing a place for us for 5,000 years, 6,000 years. | |
| And when we get there, I was thinking the other day, it's going to take us thousands of years to tour all of heaven that God has been creating during these thousands of years. | |
| And when we're done touring, 6,000 years of creation, of reward for the saints, he's going to have recreated more places. | |
| It's like we're never going to get done. | |
| But listen to this. | |
| He says, prepared for you from the foundations of the world. | |
| For I was hungry and you gave me food. | |
| I was thirsty and you gave me drink. | |
| I was a stranger and took me in. | |
| I was naked. | |
| Now, you know what? | |
| You can go and say, well, I'm prepared for my family. | |
| But this says, I was a stranger and you took me in. | |
| And then he goes and says, you took me in. | |
| I was naked and you clothed me. | |
| I was sick and you visited me. | |
| I was in prison, you came to me. | |
| And the righteous will answer him and say, Lord, when did we do these things? | |
| You know, one by one, the righteous say, when did we feed you? | |
| When did we give you water? | |
| When did we clothe you? | |
| And Jesus says, when you did it unto the least of these my brethren, you did it unto me. | |
| Listen to this. | |
| The least of these, that's not just your friends and family. | |
| We're supposed to minister to the needs of the least of the people out there that are needy. | |
| Well, I told you that there's a test coming. | |
| I believe God is not going to just let you into heaven on lip service. | |
| You might know the plan of salvation and said, I asked you to forgive me my sins. | |
| I did this and I did that. | |
| What does the love chapter say? | |
| Though you have the love of all of us, whether, I mean, if you go through it, it talks about you'd be martyred and died in my name. | |
| If you have not love, you are nothing. | |
| That's right. | |
| So anyway, I dug further into this first. | |
| I could not believe what I saw. | |
| Okay, Matthew 25. | |
| Matthew 25. | |
| Okay, let's go. | |
| It says, verse 41, I think it is. | |
| Then he will also say to those on the left, depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. | |
| For I was hungry and you gave me no food. | |
| I was thirsty and you gave me no drink. | |
| I was a stranger and you did not take me in. | |
| Naked and you did not clothe me. | |
| Sick and in prison and you did not visit me. | |
| And then those will say to him, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick? | |
| And he says, I say unto you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you didn't do it unto me. | |
| Think about what this is saying. | |
| If you don't have compassion for the needy, you haven't met the criteria of even being a Christian. | |
| Yes, that's so. | |
| And listen to that. | |
| This is an indictment, I've got to tell you. | |
| I've talked to two or three prepper Christians in the last four to six weeks. | |
| And both of them told me, we've got enough food for our group for a number of years, and we've got the means to protect it. | |
| Nobody's going to take our food. | |
| And to one of them, I pointed this scripture out. | |
| And he tried to tell me, he said, well, that was for an earlier time before hard times. | |
| And I say, forget that. | |
| This is Matthew 25. | |
| This is what Jesus is teaching his disciples for the end times. | |
| Then I heard this. | |
| Well, you know the story of the ten virgins. | |
| Five were wise. | |
| Five had oil and five didn't. | |
| And the five wise, they said to the unwise, oh, no, we only have enough oil for us. | |
| You go out in the marketplace, get your own oil. | |
| Well, do you know when you interpret scripture, you cannot go by one verse. | |
| You have to look at it in the weight of all scripture. | |
| And so when you go and take a look at the oil in the ten virgins, oil can represent food, but it also represents the Holy Spirit. | |
| And I believe that in the end times, if we are not filled with the Spirit in a sense, that we're not close to God and seeking him with all of our heart so that we can have the power of the Holy Spirit that will sustain us even unto death. | |
| If we don't have that anointing power of the oil of the Spirit of God, we're not going to make it. | |
| And you know what? | |
| If somebody comes to you and says, I need what you've got, I'm sorry. | |
|
Individual Faith Matters

|
|
| You can't give that to somebody else. | |
| They got to go and seek God for it on their own. | |
| You're not going to, your kids aren't coming into the gates of heaven on the coattails of the parents. | |
| No, we have to all have an individual relationship with God. | |
| We have to have that metal that just like those kids in the Middle East that said, we're going to cut you in two unless you deny Jesus Christ. | |
| And they chose death over denying Jesus Christ. | |
| And in America, I heard a preacher say that in the end times, you can take the mark of the beast and God will forgive you. | |
| No, that is a lie. | |
| The word of God says by the holy angels, they will warn you, do not take the mark. | |
| There's too much at stake. | |
| From the foundations of the earth, God has been preparing a place for you. | |
| You're going to die anyway. | |
| Let's die in Jesus. | |
