Honoring the Remnant 00:04:34
Bishop, maybe you have a question you want to ask her.
Do you have something in your heart and mind that you've just been bubbling over to ask her?
It's such an honor to sit here with you because I admired your family for many, many years.
Thank you.
And we hear quotes every year, you know, in speeches.
I've used a lot of those quotes and speeches during Black History Month, doing the MLK Day.
And so to have you here and to hear your heart, and I've seen you on Fox News, and you always use scripture.
Yes.
And just the other day you were talking about some issues, and then you raised the book up.
Yes.
I did it right there.
I did.
I saw that.
Return to God.
Return to God.
And then you said, we need to pray.
And that really touched my heart.
Me too.
Every message you send across, you always honor God, number one.
We honor you for honoring God.
I appreciate that.
I appreciate that.
The other thing is, I've often thought with going through the factory of blood, sweating, tears, and someone putting their life on the line to bring unity in the body of Christ.
And as a result of that, they bring unity in the body of Christ.
And now, if he was here today, what would he think about America today?
My uncle, if he were here today, or my granddaddy, Daddy King, or my dad, and pretty much like yours, too, because even with your own testimony of your parents and your father having come out of military and purchased land and they raised children together, 10 of you sent to college.
He knew, looking forward, your dad did, just like Martin Luther King Jr. did, or dad or granddaddy.
I have to put something in my children and my generation so it will be here.
And so that is what Dr. King did, not only for his own four little children that he talks about in his speeches, nor with his wife, but he did that for generations to come.
So he would be happy, believe it or not, he'd be terrified, not terrified because he was never fearful because he had God, but he would be disappointed in the evil.
But he'd be happy to see the life that is in the remnant.
He would see the remnant and he would encourage the remnant.
And he would say, don't give up, don't lose hope.
I know he would do that.
And my pastor Alan McNair, who has passed away, used to say that too.
And I think you heard me say that when they were talking about how many people were leaving President Trump's council or whatever.
I said, okay, four, six left, but how many remained?
Pastor always said, watch what's there.
Work with the good because the good can grow.
Evil will finally die regardless, but good can grow.
So he would encourage us to fan the flame of faith, hope and love in our hearts, and to move forward in love.
I know he would.
What would you speak to the pastors in America about our charge from heaven?
I'm going to talk a little bit about it, and I know you'll talk more about your books, and that'll be discussed in a little while.
But just having met you and heard your own testimony about how when someone disregarded and disrespected you and called you a bad name, you had a choice to storm off or to stay there and minister to that person.
Now, when you did that, a little girl called you the N-word.
Her mother slapped her and ran out in embarrassment.
Your friend says, we're out of here.
They're going to treat you like that.
And you say, no, no, no, wait a minute, wait a minute.
So what you did was as a leader, as a pastor, you showed your peers the side of Christ.
You showed the little girl and her mother the side of Christ, the love of Christ, and that expanded.
So every preacher, remember, you're not just preaching to your foreign no more.
You may have a small congregation or a mega congregation, but each person has a circle of influence.
So if you continue to be an example as you are, the world is actually watching you.
Praise God.
So it doesn't matter what size it looks like.
So I'm encouraging every leader, every pastor, every person to continue to be true to the word of God, and you'll see it grow in your communities.
