Psalm 2: The Current Crisis 00:02:40
Mike, in your new book, God Answers to the Growing Crisis, you talk about that Psalms 2 is crucial for discerning the times we are in now.
Could you talk about that?
Yeah, I think I'm a pretty energetic student of end-time prophecy in the scripture.
Been doing it pretty intense for the last number of years.
And having said that, I think Psalm 2 is, the big statement, the most descriptive chapter in the Bible of what's happening this very moment in the Western world.
I'm going to say that again.
I think Psalm 2 is the most descriptive chapter of what's happening right now in 2017.
Psalm 2.
Yeah.
And just a snapshot of Psalm 2.
I mean, I got the whole book on it, so I won't get into it.
Chapter 2 is the divine drama of the 12th.
The divine drama, Psalm 2 has four scenes in it.
And it was Charles Spurgeon, the famous preacher in the 1800s in London.
I borrowed this from him.
His outline of Psalm 2.
He goes, it's a great drama.
The kings, imagine a theater, a big stage, like he was in London in the 1800s, you know, and he said, the kings of the earth, they get three verses, the first three verses.
They stand on the stage of history.
They raise their fist to God and they challenge God.
And here's the challenge.
All of us are going to work together to drive the influence of the word of God out of the culture entirely.
That's what they actually said.
King David said this 3,000 years ago, that the kings of the earth together would want to drive the influence of the scripture out of the culture.
So they raise their fist to God for three verses.
The curtain closes in this great drama.
The next three verses of Psalm 2, God the Father answers.
And I mean, it's terrifying.
The curtain closes, opens, then God the Son answers.
They're answering the kings of the earth.
And it's remarkable what the Father and the Son say to the kings of the earth for the hour when the leaders of the culture are trying to remove the word of God out of the culture itself.
That's what's happening today.
I mean, it's the most descriptive thing.
Then King David gets three verses.
That's the final scene.
And he says, oh, people, you better pay attention to Psalm 2.
And beloved, it's happening right now.
I mean, it's been happening all through history a little bit.
It is accelerating right now.
The kings of the earth, the rulers of society, are binding together in an unholy unity to come up with strategies.
They're plotting.
They're scheming to remove the word of God out of the culture entirely.
