Reasons Behind Resistance

| Why do you think people don't want to read the Revelation? | |
| Well, you're writing a whole book basically around the Revelation and Matthew 24, which I call the index to the book of Revelation. | |
| It's the spinal column. | |
| Matthew 24 is the spinal column which all the ribs and every other joint and bone connects to. | |
| To answer the question why people don't want to read it, I think that there's several reasons. | |
| One, I believe that the enemy, I believe, you know, that serpent of old, the devil, he's very well aware of how this story ends. | |
| And the more people that he can convince that the story isn't real, then the more of them walk in ignorance as to the world that we live in. | |
| So I think there's a spiritual reason behind it. | |
| Two, I also think that there's a carnal reason behind it. | |
| If the writings of the Word of God are true and we believe them to be absolutely true and infallible, then there's a requirement for change in my existence. | |
| If I am not my own sovereign, if I am not my own God, if I am not here to please myself, then I have an obligation to serve and to please the one who created me. | |
| And when you begin to understand scripture from this perspective that God began this work and God's going to finish this work and he's in control of the work, it's my obligation to get right with him, not ask him to get right with me. | |
| And what we have a lot of people in the world today saying is, God, this is who I am. | |
| Accept me. | |
| You know, this is what I do. | |
| You accept it. | |
| They're saying, I don't want to get right with you. | |
| I want you to get right with me. | |
| It's like that entitlement mentality. | |
| It is indeed. | |
| And the reality of it is, is if you want to behave that way, then you have to create your own planet. | |
| You've got to be in charge of your own solar system. | |
| You've got to breathe all the life into everything that exists. | |
| And then you can decide who has to do what. | |
| Until you do that, you have to live according to God's law because he's the one who established it. | |
