Voting Values in Christendom 00:03:28
This has been one of the most confusing elections.
I'm talking among Christendom, okay?
And one of the most divided elections in the history of our country, even where Christians stood back and didn't really know how to vote.
Exactly.
And one of the most sobering things that happened, I happened to be here at the show one day, and you said something that really resonated in my spirit.
And that is, when you don't know what to do and you don't know how to vote, first of all, seek God, but vote values.
Well, that was, my God, that was a light that popped on.
Well, you know, look at the candidates, look at value, vote values.
What does the word of God say?
And you know what?
You can't go wrong by doing that.
But you helped a lot of believers and a lot of Christians because they really didn't know what to do.
I mean, it's the only time that I've traveled the nation and I've heard preachers say, I don't know what I'm going to do.
Bishop, how in the world have you gotten by with disobeying that law?
Your whole ministry.
Yes.
I know you.
You walk with kings and you walk with the leaders.
You walk with, and this man speaks all over the world.
This man speaks all over our country.
This man's one of the most sought-after speakers.
I don't know how you do it.
You're young, and you just keep going.
I guess you're amazing.
But you have the men of God that are governors, senators, congressmen, in your pulpit, in your church.
Yes.
And you know what?
And you give your people wisdom of how to vote.
Yes.
And you don't apologize.
Absolutely not.
I believe that's a part of our assignment as leaders.
And even with our governor that's now our governor of the state, we open our doors and we invited pastors from Kansas City, from St. Louis, from all over the state of Missouri.
And they came and they shared and we asked questions.
And we opened the door for both parties.
Come, let us reason together.
Let us reason together.
And so don't judge aside if you don't know the vision of the church.
You're not a second-class citizen because you're a minister.
Absolutely not.
Then why in the world would the Constitution not be interpreted for the church, for the house of God?
It's an attack against the people of God.
And as you alluded to, people don't understand this is warfare going on.
You know, this is not just statements being made against the church.
This is demonic warfare.
But thank God now.
You know, what has just happened is historic.
You know, this is in our favor as believers.
The black community from history has always been, for the black people, it's been the center.
I think the pastors and the bishops have been more powerful than the kings almost because their community was around the church.
And you know what?
That's the way the Bible says it's supposed to be.
You're not even supposed to go to the courts to solve your problem.
You're to go to the elders of the church to solve problems.
That's the word of God.
