Fake News Fears

|
|
| Something that really frightened me back November, December when suddenly this new phrase came out, fake news. | |
| Where was it coming from? | |
| It was coming from the liberal left. | |
| What did it mean? | |
| We're going to try and shut you down. | |
| In fact, remember they were talking about certifying? | |
| Yeah. | |
| Who's going to do the certification process? | |
| Come on. | |
| The government. | |
| Some of you, you just go to sleep. | |
| Wake up. | |
| What he's telling you right now is your future is at stake. | |
| Yes, it is. | |
| Let me give you one of my favorite examples of we the people doing something. | |
| Recall Bush Jr. running for president, and Dan Rather is suddenly waiving this document saying, this document proved that George Bush tried to dodge the draft or being mobilized in Vietnam, 1967. | |
| One of us, we the people, a guy who collected IBM typewriter balls. | |
| Some of those old ones, remember, it was a typewriter and it had a little ball. | |
| That was normal. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And this guy pointed out, he said, Dan Rather's holding up a document claiming it was printed in 1967. | |
| The typewriter ball used didn't come out until 1969. | |
| It's a fake document. | |
| Remember, Dan Rather went down over time. | |
| It was one of we the people who got the real news out. | |
| Otherwise, I believe Bush would have lost the election on that one. | |
| And Rather still denies that it was fake. | |
| It was we the people. | |
| I trust we the people a lot more than I do somebody trained at Columbia University. | |
