Breaking News and Moral Resolve
00:15:04
|
|
| Welcome to Revelation in the News. | |
| I'm your host, Jim Baker, and Mondo is with me today, John Woodall, and our special guest, Dr. William Forshan, is in the house. | |
| Good to see you, Doctor. | |
| Pleasure to be with you. | |
| All the way from Montreat College in Montreat, North Carolina. | |
| North Carolina. | |
| Yes. | |
| Exciting days. | |
| Yeah, very exciting. | |
| Stepping off the plane to come here last night, and suddenly I'm hearing about the news in Syria, the confirmation of the Supreme Court justice. | |
| I mean, yeah, Supreme Court Justice. | |
| And all of this. | |
| You had invited a friend to come with you to our taping on the Jim Baker show, and his plane was held up by whom, by what? | |
| It's unfortunate because this is a remarkable gentleman, Dr. Peter Prye, advisor all the way back to Reagan, involved in the EMP commissions. | |
| I base my novels on many of the facts that Dr. Pry presented. | |
| He got grounded in Fort Lauderdale because of two presidents flying into that airport. | |
| Wow. | |
| A president of China, which isn't always with the president of the United States of America. | |
| And can you imagine what's going on in the intrigue in the security business? | |
| I would not want to be a security person there because the weight of the world is literally on you at that moment. | |
| Can you imagine some of the wicked minds that would love to drop a bomb on the president's home there? | |
| Yes. | |
| Palm Speech. | |
| It's terrifying. | |
| And especially when we're seeing some of the rhetoric in America today that is so bitter towards a man who's not. | |
| Can you explain it as a historian, as a college professional, as you watch people, you watch history. | |
| How can we have elected a president that is absolutely hated by it seems like half of the population? | |
| I would go back eight years when so many conservatives disagreed with Obama as he came in. | |
| But the day after the election, we all said, disagree or not, let's give this guy a chance as the president of the U.S. Let's see what track he takes us on. | |
| Do you remember the arrogance we then saw from the likes of Pelosi and Harry Reid, which is, it's our way or no way. | |
| We're in charge now. | |
| We went through that. | |
| The American people decided differently. | |
| Come on. | |
| He is the American president, elected by the American people. | |
| Can we not show at least some time to see what he can do? | |
| And he's done remarkable things, particularly in the last day. | |
| This hatred is very disturbing. | |
| A lot of breaking news in the last few hours. | |
| That's the amazing thing. | |
| I mean, I land at Springfield last night and a whole new news cycle just hits within a matter of hours. | |
| Mondo was giving me stuff this morning. | |
| I was like, whoa, I didn't know this happened. | |
| We are living in prophetic times, biblical times. | |
| Some headline news are even calling it apocalypse times. | |
| Susan Rice is on the back burner and she was on the front burner a few hours ago. | |
| That's right. | |
| I think you quipped that she was a praying woman and her prayers got answered to the back of the news. | |
| Yes, somebody's praying, I'll tell you that. | |
| And I'll tell you what, I think a lot of Republicans today are singing the hallelujah chorus because Gorsuch has been confirmed, Neil Gorsch, to the Supreme Court. | |
| That was a difficult task. | |
| Hallelujah. | |
| Are you happy? | |
| Hallelujah. | |
| We have a constitutionalist now serving in the Supreme Court. | |
| And what is all the upset from the left when we lost a remarkable justice last year? | |
| What is so wrong about wanting to replace him with somebody of similar leanings? | |
| And beyond that, a justice is supposed to transcend politics. | |
| We've seen that where we thought we had a conservative judge who would come forth liberal. | |
| I want a Supreme Court justice who adheres to the Constitution. | |
| Let me ask you. | |
| Trump must be happy today. | |
| Do you think he's happy? | |
| I think he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. | |
| I know he is. | |
| But he won. | |
| He won that point. | |
| And then the bombing of Syrian base. | |
| Yes. | |
| And I'm telling you, I'm shocked. | |
| But at this minute, as this show is being produced, he's doing, there's a lot of favor there. | |
| A more favorable response than I thought would be because everything he does, as someone said, they would merely ask for opening of a window. | |
| Well, let's look at his very brief statement to America last night. | |
| It was not just to America, it was to the world. | |
| And he put emotion inside of me when he said, these beautiful, innocent children, they murdered babies. | |
| Is it not time that America makes moral stands again? | |
| Makes moral stands regarding children? | |
| It was a very proud moment for me as an American. | |
| Must have been a tough decision. | |
| John, NBC has released an article, U.S. launches missiles at Syrian base over chemical weapons attack. | |
| How many weapons? | |
| That's right. | |
| Over 59 tomahawk missiles have been launched to destroy basically an Air Force base there in Syria. | |
| They said over 20 different jets had been hit in the process, as well as taking out several different buildings while they're there. | |
| Said over more than 100, and the reason why they did this was there was 100 people that were basically hit with a chemical bomb that caused them to not be able to breathe and slowly suffocate with this poisonous gas. | |
| Sarin. | |
| Sarin agent. | |
| Saram gas. | |
| It was developed by the Germans in the 30s. | |
| It was never deployed out by the Germans in World War II. | |
| It is a horrific chemical weapon that actually causes you to drown. | |
| Wow. | |
| Your lungs constrict, fill up with. | |
| What a horrifying death for the children we saw where the families were desperately trying to hose them down. | |
| Is this, for recent history, this is unusual that a president would act without asking a lot of people and without setting dates and all? | |
| Well, there's moments when a president must act swiftly, responsibly. | |
| I'm disgusted with some people saying, well, he should have had some meetings. | |
| Well, gosh, then we wind up with meetings. | |
| We wind up with leaks in the news. | |
| You don't telegraph a message to your opponent, oh, we're going to debate this for a month or two. | |
| It has to be done. | |
| It has to be done smoothly. | |
| Marco Rubio's remarks was, not only was what he did legal, he was appropriate and he acted decisively, which is one of the most important things as president. | |
| I'm so happy Marco is saying some sensible things. | |
| Good man. | |
| Because I like him. | |
| He's a very good man. | |
| And I'm hoping. | |
| You know, can I preach a little bit? | |
| Yes, Pastor. | |
| But a house divided, the Bible says, cannot stand. | |
| Or even a city divided. | |
| And America, a country divided, we can't stand. | |
| Exactly. | |
| And we need to come back together. | |
| And in the last 24 hours, at least, I'm starting to see little signs of us maybe coming back together a little bit. | |
| We've got to come together to save America. | |
| We have to come together as well to convey to the rest of the world that we are resolute for moral right. | |
| Senator McCain said this is the time that he deserves talking about the president, the support of the American people. | |
| Yes. | |
| Yeah, and the president currently is asking for other surrounding nations to help support this cause to stop Syria and other people from being massacred this way. | |
| And there's a subtext. | |
| The subtext is that the president of China was literally sitting in the next room when our president gave the speech last night. | |
| Message there. | |
| To me, the big message as well, North Korea. | |
| North Korea has one of the largest chemical arsenals in the world. | |
| They have biological agents. | |
| They have 14 to 18 nukes. | |
| I pray that the results from Syria convey to North Korea, we are resolute. | |
| We're not going to roll over next time. | |
| Don't push us any further. | |
| Don't push South Korea. | |
| Don't put tens of millions of people in jeopardy, which would happen in Japan and South Korea and even in the United States. | |
| This is what Lieutenant Robert Lee McGinnis told us this morning. | |
| He wrote us a little quote so we can air it this morning to you. | |
| He said, the message to China was, we will not tolerate your proxy North Korea to continue to threaten our country and that or our allies. | |
| The message that was sent last night to China, to North Korea, to Syria, and to Russia is one that we will not stand to be threatened by any country anymore. | |
| The president really telecast very loudly a lot with that bombing. | |
| Now, remember, several days ago, there was the statement from the president, time has run out regarding North Korea. | |
| And then two days later, the missile strike into Syria. | |
| The only drawback here is the leader of North Korea is a psychotic. | |
| If we were dealing with a more sane administration, maybe the message would resonate. | |
| I want to tell you something. | |
| The police, and I have security, I have very good security around me. | |
| They're the best. | |
| They're professional. | |
| They're former sheriffs and people like that, but they're people who really understand the business. | |
| And they told me in protecting me and our guests, the one that they worry about is the crazy. | |
| Yes. | |
| They said, you know, we're more worried about some crazy person. | |
| Oh, this person's crazy. | |
| And he said, we're more worried about the crazy. | |
| So you're more worried about the leader of North Korea, right? | |
| What kind of world are we in? | |
| Or beyond that, I have to condemn all the way back to the Clintons that we allowed North Korea to acquire nuclear weapons in the first place. | |
| We allowed them to expand their arsenal. | |
| We've allowed them to build launch systems. | |
| They, I believe, have the capacity right now to at least loft an EMP strike on the United States. | |
| We have been asleep at the switch for over 20 years. | |
| We have to stop it at some point because if we don't, the threat level will just continue to escalate until they do hit us with an overwhelming strike. | |
| I did read a report that the government of accountability just put out a report saying since 2008 that the government hasn't done a whole lot to harden our infrastructures and to help keep the Americans safe. | |
| You got a sarcastic. | |
| Oh, since what happened in 2008? | |
| Who became the president? | |
| Who promised us a billion trillion dollar infrastructure spending, which never happened? | |
| A couple quick statistics. | |
| Our electrical infrastructure, on average, any component in it is 40 years old. | |
| Only 15% of the replacement parts are manufactured inside the United States. | |
| Those are dangerous numbers. | |
| We get hit. | |
| We cannot even begin to repair our system. | |
| We should have been hardening it a long time ago. | |
| Well, we're in a race now. | |
| We have to hold North Korea back while at the same time upgrading our infrastructure to be able to resist an EMP strike. | |
| Do you feel that we're still at risk with another Carrington event? | |
| The Carrington event. | |
| Wow. | |
| That you mentioned that. | |
| What you're referencing here is a high-level solar storm. | |
| Carrington event refers to something that happened in 1859. | |
| Folks can look it up on the internet, just look up Carrington event on Wikipedia. | |
| It could blow out not just the infrastructure of America, but of the entire world. | |
| Statistically, yes, we are at risk. | |
| Do you feel now? | |
| Sorry. | |
| Do you feel now it'd be more susceptible and more impacting on American culture? | |
| Well, not just American, but the world than it was at that point in time. | |
| And when it happened in 1859, we lost telegraphy systems, just the beginning of a Victorian internet. | |
| Look around this studio right now, and as we're talking to you, we lose the signals, we lose input, we lose electricity, we lose everything. | |
| It would be absolutely catastrophic worldwide. | |
| The president of North Korea ordered his stepbrother murdered. | |
| Yes, he poisoned him literally with putting poison on his face. | |
| Is that sick? | |
| Yeah. | |
| So we're talking about an EMP bomb that we have been talking about on this broadcast, our broadcast, for years, several years. | |
| We've been warning people to watch for this. | |
| And so here you've got now what you call a crazy man. | |
| Can I say that? | |
| No, I would call him a raving psychotic. | |
| Oh, okay. | |
| To be a little more depth. | |
| I could add some other things, but I might be deleted. | |
| But this man is saying he even knows the terminology, the EMP bomb. | |
| So he said, I'm going to blow one up over America. | |
| He openly threatens at least every month or so, EMP, EMP, EMP. | |
| And a guest that I wish we had here today, but his flight schedule, Dr. Peter Parai, has been warning about this for 20 plus years. | |
| There's been like two or three op-eds in the last two weeks with him, former head of the CIA Woolsey. | |
|
Ronald Reagan's Warning
00:11:32
|
|
| When they take that seriously, I got to take it seriously. | |
| All of America should take it seriously. | |
| I don't know if you've heard of Lester Holt, but he was a North Korean defector. | |
| Oh, that's an, oh, great. | |
| That's an interesting statement. | |
| And he says the headline, the world should be ready. | |
| A senior North Korean defector has told NBC News that the country's desperate dictator, that's what he called it. | |
| Desperate, yeah. | |
| Desperate dictator, is prepared to use nuclear weapons to strike the United States and its allies. | |
| Yes. | |
| Now, this is high-level. | |
| Let me say the Korean government who got it. | |
| Young-ho is the most high-profile North Korean defector in two decades, meaning he is able to give a rare insight into the secretive authoritarian regime. | |
| Let me give you a very quick analogy, Pastor. | |
| I go home tomorrow. | |
| I pull into my driveway. | |
| Somebody's moved in next door to me, and I peek over because I'm hearing gunfire. | |
| He's shooting at pictures of my beloved wife and me and screaming obscenities. | |
| In fact, a family member from him escapes, comes to my house, says, This guy's crazy. | |
| He's going to get you. | |
| Now, do I lock my doors and hide? | |
| Or do I get proactive and make it clear he's not going to be able to do it first? | |
| Tough choices. | |
| We've been locking our doors and hiding when what I believe is actually someone who is satanic is just outside that door. | |
| This is supposed to be a news show, but I really want to turn it into an opinion show because what are the odds do you think that North Korea could start a war somewhere in the world? | |
| 100%. | |
| 100%. | |
| Well, if you asked me that same question about Adolf Hitler in 1938, I would have said the same thing. | |
| That psychotic is going to take us into a world war. | |
| Now, when and where, but when you have somebody who Dr. Pry and Woolsey called the Caligula of our time, the Caligula of our time is armed with nuclear weapons, this is a very dangerous world. | |
| Mondo, you talked to William Koenig on the phones today. | |
| So what does he have to say about what's going on? | |
| William Koenig said, we are observing the rapid acceleration of final day events, alignment of nations and prophetic fulfillments. | |
| He talked about Jeremiah 49 speaking of Iran's devastation. | |
| He talked about Ezekiel 38 and 39 and speaking on college with Russia, Turkey, Iran, Libya. | |
| He said the times that we're in right now are the prophetic fulfillments of scripture right before our eyes. | |
| You know, terrorism is sweeping the world, and it's almost a daily thing. | |
| And the Swedes, who supposedly are peace-loving people, a truck plowed into a crowd in Sweden, killed three people in this. | |
| This is the new norm of terrorism. | |
| This is their weapon of choice, is a vehicle, a truck, a car. | |
| And we've seen it. | |
| We saw it just happen in England. | |
| Yes, in front of Westminster a couple weeks ago. | |
| Was it in Germany last year? | |
| In France, what was it, Marseille? | |
| And it's been here in the United States. | |
| And for some reason, our country will not even speak out about all of these in Orlando and at the race. | |
| Yeah, the maritime race. | |
| Oh, no, no. | |
| This is the actions of somebody who's mentally disturbed. | |
| Or with Ford Hood, remember? | |
| Workplace violence. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And it's all from the same group of people. | |
| Right. | |
| But yet, we won't bring it together. | |
| And I'm telling you, I believe in my heart that there is a great group of Army that's waiting to do things to the United States of America. | |
| And that's why I was so in favor of Donald Trump. | |
| I really believed he's the only one I heard that he even has spoken about EMP bombs, which you've written the book about. | |
| And what a moment when we have a president of the United States saying Islamic terrorism. | |
| That's right. | |
| No longer just workplace violence or a couple of extremists. | |
| He calls it for what it is. | |
| We certainly do not see Christian terrorists running amok every day around the world. | |
| That's right. | |
| No. | |
| He's called it for what it is. | |
| It's about time. | |
| Mr. Williams. | |
| Yeah. | |
| I wanted to ask both of you guys regarding this because the word out there in the news is: could we be headed to World War III? | |
| As a pastor, as a historian, what do you guys feel? | |
| Because I think we're in a verbal one, but what do you think is the possibility of World War III? | |
| When did World War II start? | |
| 1939? | |
| That's what the history books say. | |
| No. | |
| Japan launches aggression into what becomes Manchuria in 1931. | |
| Italy launches aggression against Ethiopia. | |
| Japan launches horrific warfare against China in 1937. | |
| World War II was really just an extension of World War I. | |
| We are already in World War III. | |
| We are in it right now. | |
| When we have enemies saying they're at war with us, how come we don't say back? | |
| Yep, it's a war. | |
| Doctor, if we go right down the headlines here, something's going on with Russia. | |
| Yes. | |
| Why? | |
| You know, I thought we made peace with Russia. | |
| Why does Russia want to do something? | |
| Why are they in the middle of all of these things? | |
| And God even spoke to me about a decade ago, watch Russia. | |
| And this was when we were being friendly with Russia. | |
| We made a great mistake in the early 1990s when we felt we've defeated communism. | |
| It's over. | |
| And remember the whole thing about one world power of America. | |
| We don't need to play the game anymore. | |
| You have people like Putin. | |
| Remember, he was KGB. | |
| Now, I do believe we can work with Russia and negotiate with them. | |
| It's a heck of a lot smarter, considering, amongst other things, they got several thousand nukes. | |
| But there's a strong resentment for what they see as the loss of their empire when they were the Soviet Union, their influence in the world. | |
| They are going to continue to push in metal. | |
| Yet again, we need a president who has the guts to stand up. | |
| Recall Jimmy Carter versus Ronald Reagan. | |
| When Ronald Reagan first came in, people say, oh, he's going to throw us into World War III. | |
| No. | |
| He gained the respect of the Soviet leaders, particularly Gorbachev. | |
| They finally were able to work together. | |
| I pray we see that paradigm develop again. | |
| I could see Trump finally able to negotiate effectively with Putin, who most likely laughed at the previous administration. | |
| Russians respect power. | |
| About every day, Mondo, you see it, John. | |
| About a fourth to a half, sometimes, of all of our news, our major news stories, are about Russia. | |
| Yes. | |
| Now, look, here's the headline. | |
| Russia warns of negative consequences if U.S. targets Syria. | |
| Well, we've done that. | |
| Now they're moving their ships towards our ships. | |
| Yes. | |
| In the Mediterranean, yeah. | |
| Here's Russian spy ship spotted off East Coast. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Russian spy ship returns off U.S. coast near sub-base. | |
| Russia denies Assad to blame for chemical attack on course for collision with Trump. | |
| Russian spy ship spotted closer to the U.S. near Navy submarine base. | |
| And Putnam spokesman, U.S.-Russia relationship may be worse now than the Cold War. | |
| That's just a few of the headlines. | |
| The Russians do not want a nuclear confrontation any more than we do. | |
| But the Russians are like that annoying kid in school that just keeps poking you and poking you and pushing you back until finally you go, stop it. | |
| Yeah. | |
| The Russians have always respected a firm response. | |
| That's how Ronald Reagan gained the respect. | |
| That's how Ronald Reagan was finally able to negotiate. | |
| Wow. | |
| I have a quick question. | |
| Do you remember the 1983 nuclear scare? | |
| Oh, I think it's called the Archer. | |
| Yes, yes. | |
| Frightening. | |
| After reading about that, that's starting to sound a lot like what's happening with the United States over in South Korea by moving the Thad missile program over there. | |
| Yes. | |
| The nuclear submarine that they've moved over there. | |
| Russia has made several statements saying, United States, beware, be careful. | |
| And they've even said that they don't want the Thad missile anti-missile system over there either. | |
| Now, do you think that they're trying to move things around without us knowing about it? | |
| Is there something bigger going on that they don't want us knowing by having our troops in missile systems over there? | |
| Let's go back to Ronald Reagan again. | |
| We're talking a lot about Ronald Reagan today. | |
| Let's go back to Ronald Reagan when he instituted Strategic Defense Initiative in the mid-1980s, more commonly known as Star Wars. | |
| The Russians pitched a fit for years. | |
| It's going to destabilize us and we're going to trigger World War III, to which Reagan was like, I'm not getting this. | |
| In other words, we're supposed to bare our throats to Soviet missiles destroying America. | |
| We want to put a shield up that you can't, and that's going to trigger World War III. | |
| Now, so what should we do with the issue in South Korea? | |
| Oh, we're not going to put defensive missiles in against your direct threats. | |
| Oh, we're going to stop a military training program because that might upset you. | |
| No. | |
| SDI helped to convey to the Soviets, we're dead serious. | |
| Now, either we negotiate or we're going to continue to build these types of things. | |
| I see the same thing with Korea. | |
| No, we should be putting defensive systems in. | |
| We should be beefing up our defense. | |
| We should be confronting very directly. | |
| And we should be sending a clear message. | |
| You saw what happened to Syria? | |
| You start putting platforms out where we see you're going to be launching missiles. | |
| We'll take them out. | |
| Here's a headline that is a little different tone. | |
| America's retailers are closing stores faster than ever. | |
|
Payless Files for Bankruptcy
00:02:26
|
|
| What's going on to close these stores? | |
| The battered American retail industry took a few more lumps this week with stores at both ends of the price spectrum preparing to close their doors. | |
| Payless Shoes filed for bankruptcy and announced plans to shutter hundreds of locations. | |
| Can you imagine Ralph LaRan, the corporation, meanwhile, said it will close its flagship Fifth Avenue Store, a symbol of old-fashioned luxury that seems to not resonate any longer with today's shoppers. | |
| Teen store, the big rage, Rue 21 could be the next casualty. | |
| The chain has about 1,000 stores and is preparing to file bankruptcy. | |
| Wow. | |
| And it goes on and on and on and on. | |
| Malls have built in this country overbuilt. | |
| I don't know if you knew that or not, but so many stores in recent years, all of them selling basically the same things, mainly apparel. | |
| This created a bubble like the housing bubble that's now bursting. | |
| He said, we are seeing the results. | |
| Doors shuttering and rents retreating. | |
| This trend will continue for the foreseeable future and may even accelerate. | |
| It goes on and on and on that 8,640 stores will be closing in 2017. | |
| Payless, as we talked about going into bankruptcy, they're planning closing immediately 400 stores. | |
| So this is happening. | |
| Radio Shack is gone. | |
| Gormans are gone. | |
| Grander Mountain Company all entered bankruptcy this year. | |
| So it goes on and on. | |
| Sears, it looks like it is on the way out. | |
| JCPenney, perhaps, and so many. | |
| Macy's is even shutting massive amount of stores down. | |
| And one of the things that I've studied about is that Amazon.com is somewhat responsible because they are doing more business than two times the amount of Walmart. | |
|
Changing Consumer Habits
00:01:27
|
|
| Could you believe that, Doctor? | |
| Absolutely, yes. | |
| It's a new phenomenon. | |
| What's going on? | |
| Do we all have to kind of change the way we look at things? | |
| Yeah, well, let's do a comparison between a government entity versus private enterprise. | |
| Government, whether it's effective or wretchedly ineffective, it keeps right on going. | |
| Private industry, either you stay current with the times or you go down. | |
| What we're seeing, for example, Sears came in because of railroads. | |
| Farmers out in Nebraska and Kansas could order an entire house. | |
| That's right. | |
| Or a new bathrobe. | |
| Well, now we have the electronic internet and they pull up to my house every day. | |
| My wife loves shopping on the internet. | |
| My wife does too. | |
| She must be your friend. | |
| And oh my heavens, I don't have to drive all the way out to that store anymore. | |
| Well, our time's gone for today. | |
| So times are changing. | |
| Yes. | |
| But television has actually has been reduced in volume of viewers by 50%. | |
| Television, as we know it, will never be the same. | |
| Never be the same. | |
| Well, be ready for change. | |
| God loves you, though. | |
| Stay close to him. | |
