Champion Needed

|
| But one of the most important things is people can have a desire to work together, but it's almost impossible to get them to work together unless you have what I call a transformer. | |
| I have an entire chapter called Transformer. | |
| You've got to have a champion. | |
| You have to have somebody who really believes this is their calling. | |
| This is what God has called them to do. | |
| You can have pastors agree with you, but pastors are overloaded. | |
| They can't actually do it. | |
| You can also say, well, maybe, well, Dr. Williams, why don't you hit it up for our church? | |
| No, I can't. | |
| I can do it, but I'm trying to network thousands of churches. | |
| I can't just handle just one. | |
| In fact, I would even say some people who are EMTs or firemen or policemen or emergency people, nurses, and so forth, may not be the best people to do the coordination. | |
| There may be some little unsung person within the church who actually has a passion for this, that God lays it on their heart and said, I want to put this together. | |
| They could network the doctors, the nurses, the EMTs, the firemen, and help bring this together. | |
| They could network the meetings bringing in the single-parent families and to identify who the needy are within their churches and organize this. | |
| Somebody who's good at organization and who has a passion for this, I call them a transformer. | |
| If you need to have a transformer for at least each church, somebody who will take the burden, I want to have our church transform. | |
| Now, you've got to get the pastor and the leadership to agree to it. | |
| They have to be behind it and they have to come under authority. | |
| But they don't have enough time to do this. | |
| So you've got to have somebody who has the time, who has the passion, and then if you have that, then you can get the job done. | |
| We forget that there's only one body. | |
| There's only one Lord. | |
| There's only one baptism. | |
| In other words, if we really understood that we were part of one body, and as a physician, I've had to study the body so much in detail. | |
| Every part is unified. | |
| Every part has its assignment. | |
| In fact, the Bible says the Holy Spirit is the one who appoints in the body what a person's responsibility is. | |
| If we would stop trying to do other people's jobs, if we would stop being envious of other people, if we would really understand that when you succeed, I succeed. | |
| When anybody else, when something is good, that's when we know we're part of the same body. | |
| When we're jealous of somebody else that's a believer, then we know we don't consider them to be part of our body. | |
| Because when was the last time, if you play the piano well, like Dino plays the piano well, do you think one hand is jealous of the other or the other parts of his body are jealous of his hands? | |
| No, his whole body exults in the fact that his hands can do that and his brain cooperates. | |
| So there's only one body. | |
| And when we come to understand that it's only one Lord, he appoints in the body, then what we need to do is look around and saying, where do you fit in the body? | |
| What is your gifting? | |
| What is your talent? | |
| What has God called you to? | |
| Oh, I see that's how God's going to use you. | |
| I'm going to come alongside you. | |
| I'm going to support you. | |
| I'm going to make you function better because when you function well, then I'm going to function well. | |
| And when I try to do my part of the body correctly, then you're going to function better because I'm doing what God asked me to do. | |
| And so don't be envious of somebody who has more ability or has more responsibility to whom much is given. | |
| Much is required. | |
| Much is required. | |
| And I can tell you that those who have more responsibilities, and we look at some people in ministry who've fallen, and rather than being judgmental of them, just realize they had such a huge burden and they somehow got off track. | |
| Need to pray for them to get back into the body, into the place where they need to function. | |
| And we need to understand that we are one body. | |
| So when one part of the body hurts, the whole body hurts. | |
| When was the last time you hit your thumb with a hammer and that your rest of your body was not concerned about it? | |
| You know, your whole body gets concerned. | |
| You stick your thumb in your mouth and you nurse your thumb after you've hit it because your whole body is concerned. | |
| So when we see our brothers and sisters hurting, when I look at those Christians over in Egypt, those guys being beheaded, do I cry for them? | |
| You know, one of the things that I heard the other day, which was just so absolutely incredible, was of those 24 men, I was the 28 that were beheaded, and they were all believers, and they all proclaimed Jesus Christ before they were beheaded. | |
| I heard this story from a missionary who gave testimony of one of the mothers of one of those young men. | |
| She said, if my son denies Jesus, I'm going to behead him. | |
| That shows you the dedication that these people have, that they're suffering this persecution. | |
| Now, many times in the States, we're trying to preserve, quote, the American dream and preserve something for ourselves. | |
| Whereas the people over in Iraq and over in Syria and other places around the world, they're saying, even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus, because there is so much going on right now. | |
| We need to be concerned for the whole body. | |
| They're part of our body over there. | |
| They're hurting. | |
| Yes, yes. | |
| And so we shouldn't just be concerned about ourselves. | |
| And so if we have more resources as the church of Jesus Christ here, then we shouldn't just be trying to take care of our own little church. | |
| We need to be networking and then reaching out because it's to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth. | |
| And so this is not a message just for America. | |
| This is a message for all believers around the world, Jim. | |
| And you're a herald for that. | |
| Hallelujah. | |
