Prescriptions for the Future
00:02:11
|
|
| Is it possible, Dr. Caesar, for people to get, if they have a life-threatening need for medication, can they get a prescription, like when they come to you, for medicines for the next few months or for the future? | |
| Well, most people, unfortunately, today rely on whatever their insurance plan will cover. | |
| Yes. | |
| Now, in the past, they used to always, if they're on a chronic medication, obviously if you needed an antibiotic for seven days, you go to the doctor, you get a prescription, you go fill it, and that would be it. | |
| But then when you're on medicine that you take every day, we would write a 30-day prescription, and they just fill it month after month after month. | |
| Then the insurance companies started wanting patients to send it to a central pharmacy, basically cutting out the local middleman pharmacists that knew you. | |
| And they would request that we write for a 90-day prescription. | |
| Well, that was just to save money. | |
| They're filling the prescription one time for three months rather than going through the labor of filling it three times for three months. | |
| But no insurance is going to cover a one-year prescription. | |
| Yet there's nothing illegal or questionable about purchasing a one-month supply or a one-year supply. | |
| Now, obviously, some drugs are what we call controlled drugs. | |
| If you're on any controlled substance, you really need to look for alternative means for treating that. | |

Lavender's Calming Effect

|
|
| There are many remedies out there. | |
| There are alternative, there are essential oils for calming effect. | |
| Some people think they need a Valium or a Xanax to cut their anxiety, but lavender essential oil, just putting a couple of drops here or there and breathing that in has shown to have a calming effect. | |
| When our Lord and Savior was born, the wise men brought him frankincense. | |
| Yes. | |
| And it is a very wonderful essential oil. | |
