Meeting The Governor
00:03:51
|
|
| Over my lifetime, I have interviewed tens of thousands of people, like Maria Von Trapp from The Sound of Music, and of course, Dr. Billy Graham, one of my favorite interviews. | |
| And then all through here, you can see the most amazing people, like Dottie Rambo, the great songwriter and singer, Pat Boone, one of my dear friends. | |
| And then just around the corner, through this doorway, is our green room where I get to meet our guests every day just before we walk out and do our program. | |
| And on this wall is some of my favorite interviews at all time. | |
| I remember this day, spent several hours with Ronald Reagan, also President Jimmy Carter, a delightful man and a man who really loved Jesus. | |
| I talked to him about his faith in God. | |
| I remember this moment with George Bush as we talked about faith in Jesus Christ. | |
| But right here in this room, I met the man that I have admired for years. | |
| In fact, Lori and I have watched him every Saturday night on Fox News, Governor Mike Huckabee. | |
| And he's here today as you're watching this broadcast, of course. | |
| But this is the very spot where Lori and I met the governor. | |
| I believe that Governor Mike Huckabee is one of the most remarkable, common sense, down-to-the-grits and gravy show guests we have ever had on our show. | |
| I believe that this man could quite possibly be the next president of the United States. | |
| And what's impressed me most about Governor Huckabee was how open he is about his faith. | |
| He's not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. | |
| This is so unusual in today's political world. | |
| It's unheard of. | |
| We need more men like him that will not apologize for their belief. | |
| Just as I did when I was reading his book, and after spending three hours talking to him, I kept shouting inside, yes, yes, you will be shouting out loud when you read his book. | |
| This is one of the most amazing books in the book world today. | |
| And when you support our ministry now with a $30 offering to help us stay on the air, I'm going to send you this unedited video, three-hour conversation with the man who very well could be the next president of the United States. | |
| It's called A Visit with Governor Mike Huckabee. | |
| Plus, you get the bonus of the first edition of his brand new book, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy. | |
| It may sound like it's a little humorous, but I'll tell you what, this is the most important, powerful book, I believe, for this moment. | |
| Also, you're going to receive a very special New Year's greeting card from Governor Huckabee and his family. | |
| And I have a copy of it. | |
| You know, over the years, I've received many Christmas cards from the White House, and I treasure them very much. | |
| We frame them. | |
| And then on the back, he includes a recipe for corn grit casserole. | |
| You southern people, but you northern people need to try this. | |
| And you're going to love this little bonus as you call right now. | |
