More Than Machinery 00:01:41
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery, we need humanity.
We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat.
As if that's the way it's supposed to be.
We know things are bad, worse than bad.
They're crazy.
I'm going to say, I'm a human being.
God damn it.
My life has value.
You have meddled with the primal forces of nature.
Don't give yourselves to brutes.
Men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think, or what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fire.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men.
Machine men with machine minds and machine hearts.
Showtime!
It's time to buckle up for making sense of the madness.
And who loves you and who do you love?
Hey everybody, Jason Burmes here.
Buckle Up for AI Madness 00:15:27
And earlier in the week, I made a social media post regarding a building collapse here in the Quad Cities in Iowa, in Davenport.
Now it must be close to two plus years ago, in which it was so over-the-top, grotesque, negligent.
It showed the collusion between just small town individuals who owned buildings and small town government corruption in the sense that this building killed people and no one got charged.
And before it collapsed, there was plenty of warnings that not only was this going to collapse, but they actually put wooden boards up against a brick building, folks, an apartment building.
And no one's been held accountable.
So I posted that and somebody from my hometown back in Oneana posted a comment and said, wait till you see what they're trying to do here with the board.
And I thought to myself, you know, no matter what insanity they're trying to pull over at the city council in Oneana, New York, there's no way that it could rival this type of corruption and be that bad.
And then I saw what it was, and I kind of had to take a step back because, yes, we're talking about outright murder, outright murder that people need to be charged with and held accountable via this building collapse.
But there is now a proposal to take land that has been zoned for residential and agriculture and build an AI data center on the west end in this area.
And I can only tell you this.
Although I obviously am not a Luddite and I want economic opportunities, that doesn't seem to be the case with these AI data centers now and where they're going.
In fact, what I foresee is if this thing is actually approved, you're going to be moving away from a college town, and I think that's happening already, and I'll get into that, into a place where your fresh water is being used up, where different types of pollutants, even if we don't get into the realm of quote-unquote nuclear,
are abundant.
All right.
And none of the benefits of whatever this AI center is producing trickle down to the people.
In other words, it's not like their bills are going to get lower.
No, Their electric bills are going to get higher.
They're going to have less access for water.
They're still going to be told they're bad as human beings.
And all of this is extremely troublesome.
So we're going to show you this company, which I couldn't find much on at all.
We're also going to show you a data center out in Memphis run by Elon Musk and what it's done.
And again, the ones we're showing you now, they are nothing.
Nothing compared to the massive data centers that Meta, Google, and Amazon plan on building.
We've gone over that Kentucky station.
It is over the top.
Over the top.
And once again, people need to realize that we have been told as carbon-based life that our energy use is bad.
The fact that we have an SUV is bad.
Multiple cars is bad.
Taking hot showers for too long is bad.
That type of rhetoric will level up to an exponential place as this happens.
What could be more anti-human than restricting humans' resources on behalf of some artificial beast system?
I don't know if there is one.
Folks, I need you to thumbs it up, subscribe, and share.
We're about to get into it.
Also, give a comment down below, not just in the live stream.
I do hope that many of you checked me out on the quartering yesterday.
If you are new, hey, consider supporting the broadcast.
$5, $10, $15, it means the world to me.
I have to say it, without you guys not gonna be able to do it.
Want to thank JAMA and others.
Some others use the other links down below.
I want to thank them as well for supporting the broadcast.
Again, big donors need you now more than ever.
So this actually occurred last night.
All right, we're going to read it right here.
I do not know what the outcome was.
This was not voting.
Okay.
This was not voting on whether or not this was going to take place.
This was the first presentation that I'm aware of.
We're going to keep up.
I'm going to try to find out exactly what happened last night.
I'm not sure that they keep a recorded record of these meetings.
Okay.
So a proposal submitted by EcoYoda.
EcoYoda.
It sounds like the green-friendly Star Wars character, right?
Very, oh, EcoYoda Inc. Seeks to rezone 153 acres of land in Oneana's West End, currently zoned for residential and agricultural use, into an industrial development district to make way for an AI data center.
This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the project and to speak for or against it.
So here's their website, or at least you'd think so.
So I typed in EcoYoda.
I'm not even sure what they do.
For some reason, it's on the Otsego County Chamber site.
But then when I click on visit website, let's do that, dickadickadoo, it's an empty landing page.
So aside from a location and a number and an address, I don't know much about much when it comes to this place.
Now, right here, in this little area, right here, this is the location.
And it's located by things like Cooperstown All-Star Village, which is a huge tourist center, which is expanding.
And they're actually trying to buy up this Oneana Country Club right here.
Now, I don't know whether or not this acreage behind them is what they're discussing right here.
But I will say this: you know, this is an obviously more rural area there.
It's right down the road from the town with the two colleges that used to have, you know, 7,000 kids coming in every year.
It's down to under five between the two colleges now, and it may be moving in that direction.
But, you know, you can see the town right into here, and then right into here is the metropolis that is Oneana.
Not that far from where these AI data centers are allegedly going to be put.
Okay.
And say what you want about NPR.
This is a pretty extensive article from last year based on this AI data center and what it has done to the grid, the power bills, the water supply of that area.
Now, remember, this is a microcosm for what they want to achieve.
And the funny thing is, it's not like it's, oh, well, it's going to bring jobs in.
How many jobs?
Well, let's find out.
This is a piece from about two months ago about that same AI data center.
In Memphis, Elon Musk is making a play to control the future of artificial intelligence.
His company, XAI, says it has built the biggest supercomputer in the world with lightning speed.
Paul Young is the city's mayor.
It represents a tremendous opportunity, an opportunity for us to take our economy to the next level.
XAI says it will create $100 million in revenue and hundreds of jobs.
But the digital future needs power.
Lots of it.
These are the gas turbines fueling the supercomputer they call Colossus.
They emit hazardous pollutants like formaldehyde and nitrogen oxides, according to the manufacturer.
Just over this fence, you can see and hear the turbines churning 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Without them, the data center does not function.
What's not in dispute is the fact that they are polluting the air.
What people don't know is how much of that pollution is reaching nearby communities.
Easter Knox lives two miles away.
You smelled it.
Yes, Lord.
Right away.
I sure did.
Well, you know, after it got situated, I started smelling it.
Knox lives in Boxtown, a mostly black, low-income neighborhood in South Memphis.
The health department, they need to be ashamed.
Where industry has taken a toll for generations.
There's a lot of people out here who got medical problems, like breathing issues.
Cancer risks here are four times higher than the national average.
Cancer killed her father and other relatives, Knox tells us.
Life expectancy here is nine years less than the national average.
Elon Musk's company is not to blame for those numbers, but that legacy and those turbines have triggered a backlash against XAI.
A recent health department hearing turned into a shouting match.
An executive from XAI ducking out a side door.
The mayor says the city is hoping to start testing the air in the next two months.
Right now, there are people in that community that feel like they have been railroaded by XAI, that they weren't a part of the conversation when it was approved, and now they're bearing the brunt of its existence.
Well, I think it's important for us to have direct dialogue.
I take their concerns deeply seriously.
Among their concerns, the company is running the turbines without a permit.
But the health department says that's okay for the first year.
And after city officials said there were 15 turbines, environmental advocates released this thermal image.
They say it shows twice that many active.
As soon as we saw the image, we called, like, hey, we had a conversation.
What's happening with these additional lawns?
So they're not using those.
No.
They're in idle mode in case they are needed.
XAI declined to be interviewed, but tells NBC News it is using pollution minimizing technology and working with public officials to stop relying on the turbines by the end of this year.
XAI has also pledged to build a water treatment facility for the city.
Elected officials are working for and conspiring with industry in order to draw profits.
Community organizer Keyshawn Pearson has lived in South Memphis most of his life.
He says he is skeptical XAI will create hundreds of jobs and doubts the mayor's promise that its tax dollars will be directed to improve these neighborhoods.
We don't want money in exchange for our lungs or in exchange for our lives.
We want clean air.
We want clean water, clean soil, just like everybody else.
And the truth of the matter is, like, ooh, hundreds of jobs, hundreds.
They pick a poor community that they've already taken hot, steaming dumps all over.
Okay.
They move in.
You notice they didn't even have to have a permit for the type of technology they're utilizing to cool it now.
Oh, this is all relatively new.
They've got twice as many up there, but they assure you they're not using twice as many.
They're just the backups.
Again, not saying that that's not true, but I'm also not saying that they're not skirting all these things.
Hundreds of jobs.
Oh, hundreds of jobs.
Folks, automation is coming in.
All right.
When we're talking AI data centers and the likes, they're looking for the smallest amount of human beings working there as possible.
Mostly, mostly maintenance.
Minimally, some engineering.
Mostly maintenance, minimally, some engineering.
Okay, so these are empty promises on the backs of poor people.
And unfortunately, I see the same thing about to happen in Otsego County and so many other places.
So many other.
I mean, the price for energy is already out of control in that area.
And you know, I listen to some of these quote-unquote conservative talking points and these podcasts.
Boy, Trump's really killing it with the economy.
Trump's really killing it with the economy.
Look, the no tax on tips, great.
Really happy about it.
Okay, that's a good thing.
Taxing less on overtime.
Honestly, for overtime, you should be taxed zero.
I mean, that should be all yours.
They should incentivize people wanting to work more so that they get paid more.
Okay, so that I think there's a lot of Johnny nonsense out there of the idea that Trump is going to just get rid of the IRS altogether.
I mean, we can all dream.
But let's take a step back right now and understand that this idea, like I keep hearing, oh man, inflation's down.
No, it is not.
Inflation has never recovered from the COVID-19 44 nightmare era, period.
Period.
I'm not paying any less for meat under Trump.
Well, people say eggs.
That was a totally separate issue.
Yeah, the actual inflation of eggs has not come down.
Just the over craziness after going in with this bird flu thing and killing them all.
And if that's your only market, certainly not gas.
Is anybody else paying a bunch less for gas under this administration?
Of course not.
Why?
Because during that COVID-19 44 nightmare that Trump, at the end of the day, enabled, you could say it's Biden's economy that did this.
The inflation.
Inflation's Impact 00:01:28
No, no, You put it into motion when you locked everything down and you just started print, print, printing cash, print, print, printing cash.
I don't know that we're on the road to any type of recovery for the common person.
The economic struggle is real.
And right now, the promise of AI to help us with that economic struggle is a false one that is clearly, clearly on the road to what?
Enslaving humanity, not empowering it.
That's about it for this one.
Short video.
Once again, thumbs it up, subscribe, share, ring that bell.
Check out all the documentary films for free.
They're in the playlist section.
Loose Change Final Cut and Fabled Enemies for 9-11.
Invisible Empire and New World Order Defined.
And Shade the Motion Picture for the larger scale stuff.
If you like my work, you want to see me continue doing this.
Like I said, there are no paychecks right now.
I need you guys now more than ever.
I know it's tough out there.
$5, $10, $15, it does mean the world to me.
If you don't like the buy me a coffee, you want to remain more anonymous, there is a PayPal down below as well.
I think there's a Venmo over there too.
I do want to thank everybody who has supported the broadcast.
And as always, it is not about left or right.
It is always about right and wrong.
I absolutely love you guys.
