Media Narratives Unveiled 00:10:41
Hey everybody, Jason Burmes here, and R. Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
And this is just the beginning as there are more federal charges to come.
Now, there's a lot of things to explore on this issue.
The fact that R. Kelly was able to get away with this behavior so openly and brazenly, especially during the 90s, okay, when the internet started to come into fruition and all of a sudden the veil was being lifted that the entertainment industry in many different aspects, not just the music industry,
was rife with pedophilia and the sexual abuse of children.
Okay, I want to make that very clear.
And Kelly's preference seemed to be teenage girls, right?
And it was during the late 90s and the explosion in the internet and the ability to download things that his infamous child pornography sex tape gets put out there.
And one of the victims on the sex tape is not only 16 years old, but she is urinated on by Kelly himself.
And it was so infamous, and again, so in pop culture that Dave Chappelle, to this day, has one of the biggest sketch comedy bits about it with his parody, Piss on You, PPP.
Now, there's a lot of things I want to talk about because it's not just this, but 30 years, yeah, first of all, the guy should be in jail for life for what he's done and what we know he's done.
And we saw a fraction of the crimes or heard a fraction of the crimes.
I didn't even watch that R. Kelly series about him because I didn't need to because I'd been following this case for well over a decade.
Well over a decade because when you make people money, when you have power, you are able to get away with some of the most horrific things out there.
And you have all sorts of enablers in these regards as well because you are utilized.
That's one of the reasons the entertainment industry is rife.
Now, I want to bring this into me too.
I want to focus in on how you look at the evidence they had against Kelly, okay?
And they had plenty of evidence, but the evidence they had for Maxwell was way more.
And somehow Maxwell just got 20 years.
Think about that.
That's a big comparison.
And by the way, no matter what you think about Bill Cosby and that case, remember when it was about Me Too?
You know, R. Kelly was very much a part of that Me Too moment.
You get it?
Well, Bill Cosby, and this was never an aspect, even during all of Me Too, that he was raping underage teenage girls.
Bill Cosby just lost a case civilly where he, well, I don't know, do I say allegedly, hasn't been in a criminal court, but allegedly sexually abused a 16-year-old girl.
Now, like I said, Kelly's sentence is just the beginning.
There is more to come, okay?
And this was obviously the right case.
They had, first of all, go all the way back when he was in court over that tape, because that did go into court.
He had married Aaliyah while she was a teenage girl and forged documents.
Now, the system inherently, because there are many powerful, powerful people that end up embroiled in these scandals, does not punish these people harshly.
And if you ever wonder why, think about it.
Think about those serial abusers in the Catholic Church.
Think Nick Bryant and the Franklin scandal.
You get it?
That's why.
Because it's a part of the culture.
But once again, let's take a look at this.
Bill Cosby sexually abused 16-year-old girl at Playboy Mansion in 1975, civil trial, jury fines.
Now, here's another cultural aspect of this.
Remember when the media couldn't get enough of throwing Bill Cosby under the bus?
Now, they reported on this, but did they at any point amplify it big time, over and over and over and over and over again?
No.
In fact, it's crickets.
It's in and out of the news cycle.
And that's another aspect of this, how the narrative is always controlled.
Okay?
We went over this, but think about this.
This is another instance, and this is just making news now, of another modeling agency, Gerald Marie, okay?
An L-model, or I'm sorry, elite model management in the 80s and 90s with the same type of behavior.
Plying them with alcohol, drugging them, you know, getting them addicted to drugs.
That was really Kelly's playbook.
Okay.
And look, everybody, including R. Kelly, is better off with R. Kelly in jail.
Period.
Okay.
This is somebody that, again, if you look into it, it looks like he was sexually abused as well.
And he's a sociopath.
He's never going to stop.
He's never going to admit he's wrong.
And in a moment, I want to emphasize that and then show you the interview with Gail King because I think that's important.
And we need to see that.
Okay.
Because Gail King, okay, she had done that Smollett interview, which amplified all this Johnny nonsense about race hate in America.
And boy, I did a tweet that really upset some lefties, some Democrats.
Hey, guys, I'm not conservative.
I'm not a Trump guy.
I said that it helped incite riots across the country.
It did.
It did.
The media will never admit it, but they amplified that story on MSNBC, on mainstream daytime television.
Okay?
And that's great if a lot of you thought it was sus from the very beginning.
But at the same time, the media treated it like it was a real story.
So, you know, Gail King gets a little bit of a mea culpa here where she interviews R. Kelly.
So we're going to go to that in a second.
But I want to point out again, look at all the evidence they had in the Epstein case.
They couldn't keep Epstein alive.
Okay?
Weird.
And then you have hard, those are hard drives.
Those are boxes of hard drives.
Take a look right there.
Boom.
Boxes of, we have no idea.
We never got to see the contents of those hard drives or what's in the box next to it.
We never got to see what was really in the safe, just little bits and pieces.
You know, we got to see pictures were entered in court.
Look, oh, all this nice safe stuff.
Great.
We didn't get to see it was on these CDs and DVDs that look burned.
You know, again, what's that one say?
The AV shoot?
Yeah, great.
Okay.
They blacked out the outsides of binders.
These are binders full of evidence.
Now, on the flip of that, we did learn a lot about the Kelly case.
So, again, it's selective enforcement as well.
And I want to say Kelly probably would have never gotten in trouble if it wasn't for people joining together and making those media productions.
And that's why media is so powerful.
I don't think Epstein would have been arrested.
It is bringing these things into the public view that makes the change, guys.
That's a reality.
And we have to acknowledge that.
So, again, I'm going to go to this Gail King interview.
And this is like the sociopath Smullet interview right here.
I was actually wondering, all right, Kelly, if this interview was going to take place, I really do want to get you on the record about your relationships with underage girls.
Because, Robert, this has been such a long-standing allegation against you.
Starting back in the late 90s.
R. Kelly is at the top of the charts, but he may be in for a fall.
He was a late 90s.
I mean, again, the guy tried to say it was his brother on the tape.
That's the kind of great guy he is.
Arrested today on 21 counts of child pornography.
Kelly is accused of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl.
Taking advantage of minors will not be tolerated.
Jurors found him not guilty on all charges.
Robert has said all along he would be cleared of these terrible charges.
Here we are in 2019.
They are still talking about you with underage girls.
Have you ever had sex with anyone under the age of 17?
Never.
No.
I believe Arkansas.
I mean, you know what?
We're going to.
Do we need more?
No.
No.
That's how people act.
You know, and there are a lot of them.
And the entertainment industry breeds that.
Okay.
And the political field breeds that.
Look straight into the camera.
Look straight into the eyes of your accuser and say, no, I did not.
Jedi mind trick it to the point you might actually believe the lie.
That's where those people are at.
So, Kelly, 30 plus years, it looks like, because again, there's more coming.
It's good.
But again, it shows you the selective enforcement.
It shows you how media narratives are run.
It is pretty crazy that we got these two rulings right on top of each other.
Okay.
And the Kelly one is so much more, I think, in line with reality.
Again, it looks like he's going to spend the rest of his life in prison.
It's very, very unlikely any of this stuff is going to be overturned.
So with that regard, guys, I want to say that's why it's important that we constantly, constantly challenge the narrative, demand justice in all regards.
