Why Sports Matter
00:12:53
|
|
| Hey, everybody, Jason Burmes here, and I know there's a lot of bigger stories out there than what I am about to cover. | |
| Obviously, the tragedy in Texas being the main one. | |
| And we will probably cover that tomorrow. | |
| We're also going to be having one of the Iowa Mama Bears come on and discuss what I believe to be an extremely inappropriate show that was put on over at the high school, I believe, and also maybe even at the middle school via this new drag time, drag queen story time craze that's just totally insane. | |
| Insane. | |
| So what we're going to be talking about is sports, its importance in the culture, and me agreeing with John McEnroe, Tennis's bad boy, and I don't agree with him all the time. | |
| I've seen some pretty poor political takes. | |
| But this take in particular, where he challenges the status quo, saying that these tennis players should not be banned from Wimbledon and other tournaments because they happen to be Russian, right? | |
| And that's a big deal to me. | |
| And why is that a big deal? | |
| Well, because when we start creating these divisions and these separations, what happens? | |
| It's not only dehumanization, but it's also this team baseball mentality where groups get into a fervor and then their sights are aimed at another group, even though you as an individual have no problem, no problem with the other individual. | |
| And it also creates this illusion that individuals must hate one another because I'm American and they're Russian, right? | |
| In fact, if you really think about it, one of the reasons I love MMA as a sport is because it truly shows you no one gives a rat's ass at the end of the day where somebody is from if they can fight, if they can compete, if they can hit a baseball, if they can throw a football, if they can knock a tennis ball. | |
| That's the truth. | |
| Okay? | |
| Let me give you a really great example before we play this clip of John McEnroe really, again, challenging the status quo, challenging this mainstream media Muppet that's trying to say, well, they're really in a tough spot over at Wimbledon. | |
| No, they're not. | |
| They're not in a tough spot at all. | |
| Okay? | |
| They're trying to create division. | |
| And, you know, that great example would be the Kazmat Makashev, or I'm sorry, Kazmat and Islam Makashev. | |
| So you have two separate MMA fighters that have just gone through the roof at a Dagestan and Russia, period. | |
| Through the roof in popularity. | |
| They don't speak very good English. | |
| They just get in there and get business done. | |
| And that's what people care about. | |
| In fact, if you're going to regard your tournaments or your leagues as a truly global competition, you can't be doing what's being done here in Wimbledon. | |
| Okay. | |
| So John McEnroe, we're going to just play this. | |
| You know, takes aim and says, you know, this isn't right. | |
| These people are now having their livelihoods taken away essentially because of where they were born. | |
| And that's not right either. | |
| And let me also say this: you know, it is through sports and culture that big changes can be made. | |
| You know, I highlighted this woman who was already making history by being out of Iran and being on the Olympic team, the first woman ever to be on the Olympic team from Iran. | |
| And not only that, she was more of a man, okay, more of a human being than just about everybody that marched out there, as she's the only one I saw refused to wear her mask. | |
| Okay? | |
| She wanted her face seen. | |
| She wanted her smile seen. | |
| That was a big moment for me. | |
| Okay? | |
| And, you know, we go back in time and say, hey, look at even the Olympics, right? | |
| Look at Jesse Owens prevailing against the Nazis. | |
| And not only that, but again, in a time where segregation was still rampant in the United States, Jesse Owens could be a hero. | |
| He could pave the way for other athletes that could make positive, positive cultural changes, such as Jackie Robinson, right? | |
| Because again, at the end of the day, people like winners. | |
| It doesn't matter what their race is, okay? | |
| It doesn't matter what flag they represent. | |
| It doesn't matter what their gender is, quite frankly. | |
| You know, a lot of people tried to act like women wouldn't be able to explode again in mixed martial arts and fighting translates. | |
| Some of the biggest stars have come out of the women's division. | |
| So let's play this clip. | |
| And John McEnroe, I agree 100%. | |
| And of course, we're going to have to refresh. | |
| Because why would it play on the first try? | |
| You know, I've already watched it and gotten it ready. | |
| But why in the world would it actually play when I wanted to? | |
| What did they do? | |
| Here we go. | |
| No, they took it off. | |
| Come on, guys. | |
| So that was the problem there. | |
| Here it is. | |
| Nope, here it is right here. | |
| Okay, good. | |
| Are we seriously just not going to be able to play this now? | |
| You know, we're going to try another browser. | |
| I'm going to go after Mr. Henman for a second because I think it was a mistake by Wimbledon to do what they did in the first place, you know, kicking out the Russians and Belarusians. | |
| I don't know how they came up with the Belarusians too, but that's a whole other story. | |
| And then it's, in my opinion, compounded by the fact that now the ATP and the WTA say they're no points. | |
| I don't see how that helps the players. | |
| If the players really believe that Wimbledon had made a big mistake by not allowing the Russian and Belarusian players to play, in my opinion, they should have boycotted the tournament. | |
| Just like in 1973 when Nikola Pilich was not allowed to play. | |
| That's exactly right. | |
| So let me stop this, too, and say, you know, it's also important because you look at things like the shot mandates and, you know, people standing up against the mandatory shots, Kyrie Irving, again, eventually prevailing. | |
| Those are big moments. | |
| And, you know, they can try to be marginalized by the mainstream media and the authoritative sources, right, and the status quo. | |
| But the fact is, they make cultural impacts. | |
| Oh, I hope they. | |
| Are you kidding me? | |
| That we can't even, man, this is just the worst. | |
| I'm going to go after Mr. Henman for a second because I think it was a mistake. | |
| Russian players to play. | |
| In my opinion, they should have boycotted the tournament. | |
| Just like in 1973 when Nikola Pilich was not allowed to play. | |
| That's exactly right. | |
| That's exactly right. | |
| And then, by the way, Mr. Henman, we could get into, we could share players' profit sharing. | |
| How about 50-50 with the All-England Club now that we're on the subject of that? | |
| Or is that for another day? | |
| No, no, no. | |
| It's not. | |
| I think it look, you know, the reality of this situation for the championships, for the players, for the tours, you know, there's no winners. | |
| And I feel enormous sympathy for the Russians and the Belarusian players that cannot play. | |
| When you go through the circumstances that are presented for Wimbledon, you know, the directive from the government is that the players are not allowed to play as neutral athletes, as has been on the tour as is now. | |
| So the question in return is: are Wimbledon expected to turn around, given their, you know, their status in the UK? | |
| Are they expected to turn around and say to the government, actually, we think we know better than you, the government, so we're going to do something different? | |
| The reality of that is not going to happen. | |
| Absolutely right. | |
| That's unfortunate. | |
| I would absolutely do that. | |
| That's not going to happen, John. | |
| So then the next question is: are you going to get the players to sign a declaration against the government in Russia and the war and the regime? | |
| I think most of us would have to say that. | |
| I'm ready to answer that. | |
| I'm ready to answer that. | |
| And if you were a Russian player or a Belarusian Russian player and your parents lived in Russia and you had family there and relatives and they have a new law that says they could spend 15 years in prison if they say that there's even a war going on or that anything negative about what's happening right now, would you, if you or Daniel Mavedev, say anything? | |
| Or Andrei Rublev? | |
| Or Viktoria Zarenka or Ariana Sabolenka? | |
| I mean, they're in a hell of a bind, aren't they? | |
| Absolutely. | |
| And so this is. | |
| So go ahead. | |
| And so very much the stance from Wimbledon is there's no way that they're going to jeopardize the safety of players and their extended family. | |
| That's before you talk about the propaganda of a Russian or a Belarusian receiving a trophy on center court potentially in the second week of Wimbledon. | |
| So your first two options from Wimbledon's point of view are horrific. | |
| And your third option is that you don't invite the Russian and Belarusian players. | |
| And that's the point I'm trying to make. | |
| They're horrific decisions, whichever way you turn. | |
| And that's not much fun to be a part of. | |
| Well, it sounds like a lose-lose for everybody. | |
| That's it. | |
| Let's talk about that. | |
| You know, because I wanted to stop it as we were going along the way. | |
| Obviously, I couldn't. | |
| Think about what he said. | |
| First of all, McEnroe's right. | |
| First of all, I wouldn't even go as far as to say that they couldn't say something politically or talk about a war or threaten them with any type of jail time or a fine. | |
| Let's get that out of the way. | |
| I think that he's throwing it out there to say, hey, if we did this, obviously they wouldn't say that. | |
| But his counterpart there, think about the propaganda he put out saying, oh, think about the propaganda if the best person won and they happen to be Russian or Belarusian. | |
| Oh, that would be bad. | |
| What? | |
| And again, the fact that this organization has to take directives from a nation state is also absurd. | |
| And then also the point that he makes, what? | |
| That somehow this would be dangerous for the athletes and their family is utterly absurd. | |
| It is obnoxiously absurd. | |
| And it is a false talking point. | |
| And again, what is dangerous about all these things, okay, is it is escalating a situation where it is us versus them, and they are utilizing popular culture and sports to further the divide for the true propaganda that is leading us down a path to World War III. | |
| Okay, and we're going to be talking about that more tomorrow. | |
| Henry Kissinger actually said some shocking things that I kind of agree with. | |
| I don't know whether he's playing possum or maybe in his old, age, he just has more common sense than thinking a conflict with Russia is a good thing. | |
| I'm actually quite shocked at what he said, but we'll cover that tomorrow. | |
| I want to encourage people, if you want to support this broadcast, to do so via the buy me a coffee link. | |
| That's how we do it. | |
| We do it free. | |

| And guys, we just found out today that I will be in Rochester, New York, speaking at the Reawaken America Tour once again. | |
| Actually, very, very pumped for that, excited about it. | |
| And I hope that you guys can come out and support me and support that tour because they're allowing people like me to talk to a lot of people who are more mainline conservatives about issues that matter, such as the true deep state, the national security state, okay? | |

One-World Government Flip
00:00:14
|
|
| And of course, the one-world government, new world order, transhumanist agenda that I've been reporting on now for well over a decade. | |
| It's not about left or right, it is always about right and wrong. | |
| And I will see you guys on the flip side. | |
