Ring Camera Captures INSANE Confrontation in Front Yard

Off-duty Decatur officer Dan Nikal and suspect Gregory Hill clash in a terrifying front-yard confrontation captured on a ring camera. After Hill allegedly argued with the officer, he crashed his Jeep into a tree before reversing to target Officer Brown's legs while shots were fired. Sabrina Brown, who works for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, hid her children safely inside as Hill faced attempted murder charges and a $1 million bond. Viewers speculate Hill may have been contacting a dispatcher to cover up a crime, though conflicting details regarding his motives persist. Ultimately, this incident highlights the volatile dangers officers face even off-duty, leaving families traumatized while legal proceedings determine Hill's fate. [Automatically generated summary]

Cop Runs Over Suspect 00:09:39
This video is nuts.
That's a cop right there.
He's at home cop car.
Yeah.
He's on the phone, right?
Yeah.
Dude tried to run him over.
2209.
2209, 11 straight southeast.
Give him the gun.
What's he doing?
Trying to finish the job.
Yeah, you ain't listening.
Pop him!
I'd have popped him way before that.
Personally, I wouldn't have stood right there in front of him.
I'd have popped him as soon as he got in his car and he cranked it up.
Because he already tried to run over me.
Well, he's going to pop you.
Man, this video is nuts.
Yeah.
You didn't shot him four times.
He came to your head.
So this was covered by the news.
They go into detail what happened.
Okay.
So this was covered on the news.
They go into detail what happened.

New at 10, the wife of a Decatur police officer who was attacked outside of his home last week, is speaking out.
Way31's Brittany Harry's live in the studio with more.
Brittany.
Well, Dan Nikal, the officer who was off duty at the time, is doing well.
I actually spoke to him at their home today, and he's in really good spirits.
His wife, Sabrina Brown, who works for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, says neither of them have ever had any contact or interacted with the suspect, Gregory Hill, before.
That's nuts.
Very stressful.
Very traumatic event, but we're definitely lucky it wasn't more serious than what it was.
Man, somebody needs some new blinds.
Those blinds looking crazy back there.
They might have got some domestic violence going on in that house.
Them blinds look nuts.
Man, that looks nuts.
Sabrina Brown says she was at work last week when her husband was attacked.
Initially, she says she had no idea what happened, but was told she needed to get home to her kids.
I get here and coming over the little hill up the road, there's just cop cars everywhere, all the whole block, and my stomach just dropped.
It was an absolute nightmare.
Brown says her husband was already en route to Huntsville Hospital.
Their children were safe inside with another officer.
They went and hid in the back bedroom, but they heard everything.
So they were terrified.
Though Brown didn't see the incident, it was all caught on camera.
Decatur police say 55-year-old Gregory Hill initially tried to hit the off-duty police officer with his vehicle.
The video shows the officer run into his home.
Hill wasn't too far behind, but as you can see here, he never tried to get inside.
Seconds later, the officer comes back out with a gun.
Hill then eventually hit the officer with his vehicle as the officer was firing shots.
Police say Hill was not struck.
As for Brown's husband, he's taking some time off of work to recover.
He's doing well.
He's up walking around, pretty beat up, pretty scraped up, but doing fairly well.
Went to the doctor today.
He's got to go see an orthopedic doctor and then get cleared from them.
And then it's just kind of one day at a time, but he's doing really well.
I don't get it.
So just a random act of violence.
I don't believe that.
They had to have crossed paths somewhere.
Right.
This has got to have, he's got to have some kind of motive why he did what he did.
Yeah.
Everybody's got a motive when they commit a crime.
That really means tell me he just had a certain urge to say that.
Brown says her husband really appreciates the outpouring of support they've received since this incident happened from complete strangers to, of course, their work family as well.
Hill was in court, this man right here on Friday, where his bond was set at more than $1 million.
He is in the Morgan County jail tonight, charged with attempted murder.
So he made it.
Wow.
Cops are horrible shot.
Yeah.
How did he make tactical?
He's shot like.
I don't know, man.
Maybe he.
That's.
Maybe it's driving like this.
He's probably driving like this.
That's nuts how he did.
He's still alive.
Gregory Hill.
So let me see.
Brittany Harry.
Yeah, there's no.
Gregory Hill is going to jail for the rest of his life.
Charged.
He's going to jail for the rest of his life.
No, but the cop went out there.
He was on his phone or something.
Yeah.
It's like he was going out to meet somebody.
Right, right.
And then the guy tries to run him over.
There's more to this story.
Yeah, it's got to be.
It's got to be more to the story.
Yeah.
It's something personal because after he missed him, he tried to run over him, right?
Yeah.
He comes out of the car running.
Run up to the house.
Yeah, then he's like, oh man, he got away.
Yeah.
I'll get him next time.
Yeah, he wanted that man bad.
It's got to be more to the story.
I can understand this happened if he fell asleep behind the wheel and he gets out of the car.
It's like, oh man, man, I fell asleep.
I'm sorry.
But this dude was pursuing him.
He's trying to get that man.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Stop right there.
Let me go.
I'm going to go back to this video.
Is that seven minutes in?
Yeah.
I mean, you look at the video.
He's going outside.
He's on his phone.
Right.
Like he's meeting somebody.
Exactly.
Why else would he?
Like he's going to beat him out there on the road.
Yeah.
Listen.
Wonder who he was on the phone with.
He was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher.
Yeah, there's more to this story.
They didn't release that.
Yeah.
Look at this psycho.
There's more to the story.
Yeah.
Sounds like he was on the phone with a 9911 dispatcher.
Yeah.
There's some kind of speech.
Yeah, and he knew it was malicious.
He could have had a medical emergency and just blacked out and crashed into him.
But I hear the gas, I hear somebody accelerating on the gas.
Right.
And then he's running, like, oh my God, he's after me now.
Right.
And he knows exactly who he is.
So he runs in the house, grabs his gun because someone's attacking him.
There's more to the story.
It's got to be.
And there's no denying his intent was to run that man over.
Yeah.
And it sounds like he was giving his location to somebody, like a 911 operator or something like that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's man.
You know what?
Is there any comments on this?
Yeah.
These extended car warranty people are taking things with Officer Jack Brown.
He approached the Jeep because it was a suspicious vehicle.
After approaching the vehicle, he got into an argument with the driver, a 54-year-old man, Gregory Hill.
At some point during the argument, Greg tried to run the off-duty officer over, but fell crashed into a tree before exiting the vehicle.
After Officer Brown ordered Greg to lay on the pavement, he went back into the Jeep, reversed, then successfully ran over Officer Brown as he fired shots into the Jeep.
Officer Brown's legs were run over when the Jeep was stopped.
Officer Brown was able to get up and detain Greg with the help of his neighbor.
Gregory Hill is now charged.
Okay, so he was a suspicious vehicle.
So it's just a guy that didn't trying to cover up his crime.
He didn't want the one to take down notes.
What?
Maybe he's trying to cover up the scene of trying to cover up the scene of a crime.
He didn't want any witnesses.
He was suspicious.
He was obviously doing something wrong.
Maybe his intent was to make sure there were no witnesses of his vehicle there.
That's why he tried to run him over.
Oh, you got it?
Yeah.
This comments did a better job than the damn news station.
