[00:01:19] I'd have popped him way before that. [00:01:23] Personally, I wouldn't have stood right there in front of him. [00:01:26] I'd have popped him as soon as he got in his car and he cranked it up. [00:01:29] Because he already tried to run over me. [00:01:31] Well, he's going to pop you. [00:01:40] Man, this video is nuts. [00:01:42] Yeah. [00:01:52] You didn't shot him four times. [00:01:53] He came to your head. [00:02:13] So this was covered by the news. [00:02:37] New at 10, the wife of a Decatur police officer who was attacked outside of his home last week, is speaking out. [00:02:43] Way31's Brittany Harry's live in the studio with more. [00:02:46] Brittany. [00:02:46] Well, Dan Nikal, the officer who was off duty at the time, is doing well. [00:02:50] I actually spoke to him at their home today, and he's in really good spirits. [00:02:54] His wife, Sabrina Brown, who works for the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, says neither of them have ever had any contact or interacted with the suspect, Gregory Hill, before. [00:03:04] That's nuts. [00:03:05] Very stressful. [00:03:06] Very traumatic event, but we're definitely lucky it wasn't more serious than what it was. [00:03:10] Man, somebody needs some new blinds. [00:03:12] Those blinds looking crazy back there. [00:03:16] They might have got some domestic violence going on in that house. [00:03:22] Them blinds look nuts. [00:03:24] Man, that looks nuts. [00:03:25] Sabrina Brown says she was at work last week when her husband was attacked. [00:03:30] Initially, she says she had no idea what happened, but was told she needed to get home to her kids. [00:03:36] I get here and coming over the little hill up the road, there's just cop cars everywhere, all the whole block, and my stomach just dropped. [00:03:43] It was an absolute nightmare. [00:03:45] Brown says her husband was already en route to Huntsville Hospital. [00:03:49] Their children were safe inside with another officer. [00:03:52] They went and hid in the back bedroom, but they heard everything. [00:03:56] So they were terrified. [00:03:57] Though Brown didn't see the incident, it was all caught on camera. [00:04:01] Decatur police say 55-year-old Gregory Hill initially tried to hit the off-duty police officer with his vehicle. [00:04:08] The video shows the officer run into his home. [00:04:12] Hill wasn't too far behind, but as you can see here, he never tried to get inside. [00:04:17] Seconds later, the officer comes back out with a gun. [00:04:24] Hill then eventually hit the officer with his vehicle as the officer was firing shots. [00:04:31] Police say Hill was not struck. [00:04:33] As for Brown's husband, he's taking some time off of work to recover. [00:04:37] He's doing well. [00:04:38] He's up walking around, pretty beat up, pretty scraped up, but doing fairly well. [00:04:43] Went to the doctor today. [00:04:45] He's got to go see an orthopedic doctor and then get cleared from them. [00:04:48] And then it's just kind of one day at a time, but he's doing really well. [00:04:51] I don't get it. [00:04:52] So just a random act of violence. [00:04:56] I don't believe that. [00:04:59] They had to have crossed paths somewhere. [00:05:01] Right. [00:05:02] This has got to have, he's got to have some kind of motive why he did what he did. [00:05:07] Yeah. [00:05:07] Everybody's got a motive when they commit a crime. [00:05:10] That really means tell me he just had a certain urge to say that. [00:05:12] Brown says her husband really appreciates the outpouring of support they've received since this incident happened from complete strangers to, of course, their work family as well. [00:05:21] Hill was in court, this man right here on Friday, where his bond was set at more than $1 million. [00:05:26] He is in the Morgan County jail tonight, charged with attempted murder. [00:05:30] So he made it. [00:05:31] Wow. [00:05:33] Cops are horrible shot. [00:05:40] Yeah. [00:05:40] How did he make tactical? [00:05:43] He's shot like. [00:05:46] I don't know, man. [00:05:47] Maybe he. [00:05:49] That's. [00:05:50] Maybe it's driving like this. [00:05:52] He's probably driving like this. [00:05:56] That's nuts how he did. [00:05:57] He's still alive. [00:05:58] Gregory Hill. [00:06:02] So let me see. [00:06:04] Brittany Harry. [00:06:05] Yeah, there's no. [00:06:06] Gregory Hill is going to jail for the rest of his life. [00:06:10] Charged. [00:06:11] He's going to jail for the rest of his life. [00:06:13] No, but the cop went out there. [00:06:15] He was on his phone or something. [00:06:16] Yeah. [00:06:17] It's like he was going out to meet somebody. [00:06:19] Right, right. [00:06:20] And then the guy tries to run him over. [00:06:23] There's more to this story. [00:06:25] Yeah, it's got to be. [00:06:26] It's got to be more to the story. [00:06:28] Yeah. [00:06:29] It's something personal because after he missed him, he tried to run over him, right? [00:06:33] Yeah. [00:06:34] He comes out of the car running. [00:06:38] Run up to the house. [00:06:39] Yeah, then he's like, oh man, he got away. [00:06:41] Yeah. [00:06:42] I'll get him next time. [00:06:44] Yeah, he wanted that man bad. [00:06:46] It's got to be more to the story. [00:06:47] I can understand this happened if he fell asleep behind the wheel and he gets out of the car. [00:06:52] It's like, oh man, man, I fell asleep. [00:06:54] I'm sorry. [00:06:55] But this dude was pursuing him. [00:06:58] He's trying to get that man. [00:06:59] Yeah. [00:06:59] Okay. [00:06:59] Okay. [00:07:00] Stop right there. [00:07:00] Let me go. [00:07:01] I'm going to go back to this video. [00:07:03] Is that seven minutes in? [00:07:04] Yeah. [00:07:06] I mean, you look at the video. [00:07:07] He's going outside. [00:07:07] He's on his phone. [00:07:09] Right. [00:07:09] Like he's meeting somebody. [00:07:10] Exactly. [00:07:11] Why else would he? [00:07:12] Like he's going to beat him out there on the road. [00:07:13] Yeah. [00:07:17] Listen. [00:07:26] Wonder who he was on the phone with. [00:07:31] He was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher. [00:07:35] Yeah, there's more to this story. [00:07:36] They didn't release that. [00:07:37] Yeah. [00:07:38] Look at this psycho. [00:07:44] There's more to the story. [00:07:46] Yeah. [00:07:46] Sounds like he was on the phone with a 9911 dispatcher. [00:07:50] Yeah. [00:07:51] There's some kind of speech. [00:07:58] Yeah, and he knew it was malicious. [00:08:00] He could have had a medical emergency and just blacked out and crashed into him. [00:08:04] But I hear the gas, I hear somebody accelerating on the gas. [00:08:08] Right. [00:08:08] And then he's running, like, oh my God, he's after me now. [00:08:10] Right. [00:08:11] And he knows exactly who he is. [00:08:12] So he runs in the house, grabs his gun because someone's attacking him. [00:08:16] There's more to the story. [00:08:17] It's got to be. [00:08:17] And there's no denying his intent was to run that man over. [00:08:20] Yeah. [00:08:21] And it sounds like he was giving his location to somebody, like a 911 operator or something like that. [00:08:27] Yeah. [00:08:27] Yeah. [00:08:28] It's man. [00:08:29] You know what? [00:08:30] Is there any comments on this? [00:08:32] Yeah. [00:08:32] These extended car warranty people are taking things with Officer Jack Brown. [00:08:39] He approached the Jeep because it was a suspicious vehicle. [00:08:42] After approaching the vehicle, he got into an argument with the driver, a 54-year-old man, Gregory Hill. [00:08:46] At some point during the argument, Greg tried to run the off-duty officer over, but fell crashed into a tree before exiting the vehicle. [00:08:54] After Officer Brown ordered Greg to lay on the pavement, he went back into the Jeep, reversed, then successfully ran over Officer Brown as he fired shots into the Jeep. [00:09:02] Officer Brown's legs were run over when the Jeep was stopped. [00:09:06] Officer Brown was able to get up and detain Greg with the help of his neighbor. [00:09:10] Gregory Hill is now charged. [00:09:12] Okay, so he was a suspicious vehicle. [00:09:14] So it's just a guy that didn't trying to cover up his crime. [00:09:18] He didn't want the one to take down notes. [00:09:20] What? [00:09:21] Maybe he's trying to cover up the scene of trying to cover up the scene of a crime. [00:09:25] He didn't want any witnesses. [00:09:27] He was suspicious. [00:09:28] He was obviously doing something wrong. [00:09:30] Maybe his intent was to make sure there were no witnesses of his vehicle there. [00:09:34] That's why he tried to run him over. [00:09:36] Oh, you got it? [00:09:38] Yeah. [00:09:38] This comments did a better job than the damn news station.
