Hodgetwins analyze a Milwaukee shooting where dashcam footage allegedly proves BLM witnesses lied about an off-duty officer's fatal encounter with Elijah Wilkes. They argue the video shows the officer pistol-whipping Wilkes after a fender bender, justifying self-defense while dismissing police accounts and employing racist rhetoric against a female witness. Despite attorney Ivory Lamar noting the footage likely halts legal action, the hosts claim the evidence exposes systemic bias, concluding that such recordings dismantle narratives of police misconduct often attributed to Black Lives Matter. Video Shows Full Story00:08:02
Questions tonight after Milwaukee police say an off-duty officer shot and killed an armed man after a crash and shootout.
We know there's video of the incident.
Chief Jeffrey Norman confirmed that.
We don't know where it comes from and what it shows.
Stephanie Quirk is here in studio.
I know you've been digging into this stuff.
Yeah, Ben Kim, this happened on Mill Road between 47th and 49th.
Now that's a residential area with homes and some businesses nearby, like a bowling alley and a daycare.
I actually spent the afternoon going door to door looking for people who may have seen what happened or caught it on video.
I didn't find that, but I did talk to one man who says bullets hit his home.
Why did you kill him?
Why did you shoot him?
Questions remain unanswered Thursday night after Milwaukee police say an early morning fender bender involving one of their own ended ink on fire.
Police say an off-duty officer was headed to work when a 26-year-old man rear-ended his car on Mill Road near 49th.
They say both men got out and things escalated.
Police say the 26-year-old was shot and died at the scene.
Family identified him as Elijah Wilkes.
Some family and neighbors say police's description of what happened doesn't tell the full story.
Not the truth at all.
It's not the truth at all.
They're not telling the truth.
That story they posted is not the truth.
How the hell she know?
Maybe she's psychic.
Not the truth at all.
It's not the truth at all.
Nobody got pissed through it.
I mean, does she look like a credible person?
Whatever injuries he had.
What do you mean by that?
Whatever injuries that man have, it did not come from Elijah.
They were already so many feet away from each other.
Give me a reaction to hearing that the awesome.
It sounded like another situation of from what I've been hearing of black man being killed, being shot too many times.
I heard that his hands was up.
It was a young lady who was here earlier says she witnessed it and she was a nurse and she tried to help him.
And she was told by the officer to leave him alone.
I think these people willingly just lie.
Either that or they get like a bit of information and based on that bias they have in their head, they twist it to make it fit what their perception of what happened happened.
That's a good explanation how you would explain somebody that's like severely stupid.
Got them slick hands.
It got no grooves in it.
Yeah, them that them these people's head like bowling balls.
They slick, shiny, no grooves, just three holes in it.
Just smooth brain individuals.
Yeah, but they kind of hear the truth.
That's dash cam video.
It was dash cam.
This is the dash cam.
This they released it.
This is what happened.
Oh, okay.
Hey, don't forget about our new giveaway.
Ford Bronco Raptor and 10,000 in cash.
Get in the wind.
Just go to the website.
Anything you buy on my site, like my merchandise, my hats, my methylene blue that I'm sipping on right now, anything.
You automatically end it win here.
Right.
So this is the police officer's dash cam.
He's going to work.
He's in this lane.
Okay.
This is Elijah right here.
It's a lodger.
First of all, who's got the right of way?
Not Elijah.
Do that.
What are you doing?
That's crazy.
That was insane.
Okay, first of all, is this police officer in a police car?
He's in a police car, right?
I'm not sure.
I'm not sure.
But he's going to work.
Okay.
He's driving his car.
Yeah.
Personal car.
Well, personal car, and he's not in uniform.
So they pull over.
That's crazy.
He caused accidents.
Yeah, see his hand?
Look at his hand.
Look what's in his hand.
Wow.
He's got a weapon.
Cheap shot right in his face.
Yeah.
Wow, pulls a pistol.
Of a traffic accident that he caused.
So what the hell was that black girl talking about?
Making up stuff.
You see him come over here?
He's taking cover.
He wants to return fire.
Yeah, he's trying to return fire.
He came over here trying to return fire.
Stay out of the ground.
Don't move.
Just give him command.
Still in the ground.
You still.
That story they posted is not the truth.
Not the truth at all.
It's not the truth at all.
This is how that whole Black Lives Matter movement started based on lies.
You know, the sad thing about it, I don't even think she think, I don't even think she thinks she's actually telling the truth.
Well, she's got a bias.
Because she's brain dead.
Smooth brain.
Yeah.
That head, I mean, if they was to take that brain out of that, that head is smooth and slick like a bowling ball.
Ain't no grooves on that head.
Yeah, I get what you said, but I'm telling people have a bias.
In the black community, they have a bias towards cops.
They think the worst.
Yeah, but Keith, you got to have a brain to have a bias.
And I don't think she have a brain.
She got one of them bowling ball heads.
Nobody got pissed over.
Whatever injuries he had.
Whatever injuries that they have, it did not come from Elijah.
They were already so many feet away from each other.
Elijah's mother, Pamela Bond Slater, and their attorney, the Ivory Lamar, watching the video.
Yeah, yeah.
Twice Friday at MPD headquarters.
Lamar said it showed Wilkes aggressively cut off the officer's car, causing the officer to hit Wilkes' car.
They each pulled over and got out.
They spoke.
Then Elijah pulled out a gun.
He does slap the off-duty officer with the firearm.
The video does depict Elijah pointing the firearm at the off-duty officer.
And the off-duty officer did respond, but we believe in accordance with his training.
He made a bad decision yesterday.
And unfortunately, it came with dire consequences.
Wilkes' mother was too distraught to speak, but other family members did.
I would also like to thank the Milwaukee Police Department for their transparency and their professionalism.
He made a decision that he should not have made.
Lamar said it was unlikely they'd pursue legal action.
Once we got an opportunity to actually see the video, there weren't many questions.
We had clarity as to what actually transpired.
Yeah.
So so many times I've seen incidents like this.
Now, well, you didn't have to kill him.
You could have shot him in the leg or something.
Oh, you had to take.
You had to.
Nah, he had the right to defend himself.
Yeah.
He had the right to use deadly force.
Someone pistol whips you.
You take a couple steps back.
He points the weapon at you like he's going to fire rounds at you.
Of course, you have the right to defend yourself.
Yeah.
I mean, he behaved like a felon that day.
I haven't seen any information if he was like a felon, got a pro record or anything like that.
I would think so.
I mean, get a traffic accident that you cut somebody off, you pull over, and you get in the man's face and hit him in the face with your weapon.
It wouldn't be surprising that he had other bodies, other skeletons in his cousin.
This moon, I mean, people that are violent and the unalive people, it just doesn't happen overnight.
It was just not by coincidence.
These people are inherently evil.
Not His First Time00:01:01
Yeah.
And this is, I would, I would, I would argue this is not his first time trying to take someone's life.
It can't be.
Yeah.
How irrational it is to cut someone off and then when you get out of the vehicle, you pistol whip the guy and you pull your gun on him.
All he was doing, he wasn't even physical.
He was just checking out the damage.
He was looking.
Yeah.
He wasn't even looking at you.
And you took a cheap shot.
Well, that dash cam, if it wasn't for this dash cam, now look at all the lies they will be spreading in that community.
Right.
I mean, y'all wanted these dash cams.
They wanted these body cams.
Black Lives Matter.
And they backfired on it.
Actually, it's hurting you.
You're proving everybody right.
And FBI statistics.
Hey, everybody.
