[00:00:17]  Yeah, Ben Kim, this happened on Mill Road between 47th and 49th.
[00:00:21]  Now that's a residential area with homes and some businesses nearby, like a bowling alley and a daycare.
[00:00:27]  I actually spent the afternoon going door to door looking for people who may have seen what happened or caught it on video.
[00:00:34]  I didn't find that, but I did talk to one man who says bullets hit his home.
[00:00:38]  Why did you kill him?
[00:00:40]  Why did you shoot him?
[00:00:41]  Questions remain unanswered Thursday night after Milwaukee police say an early morning fender bender involving one of their own ended ink on fire.
[00:00:50]  Police say an off-duty officer was headed to work when a 26-year-old man rear-ended his car on Mill Road near 49th.
[00:00:59]  They say both men got out and things escalated.
[00:01:02]  Police say the 26-year-old was shot and died at the scene.
[00:01:06]  Family identified him as Elijah Wilkes.
[00:01:08]  Some family and neighbors say police's description of what happened doesn't tell the full story.

[00:02:05]  I think these people willingly just lie.
[00:02:08]  Either that or they get like a bit of information and based on that bias they have in their head, they twist it to make it fit what their perception of what happened happened.

[00:06:08]  Lamar said it showed Wilkes aggressively cut off the officer's car, causing the officer to hit Wilkes' car.

[00:06:17]  Then Elijah pulled out a gun.
[00:06:19]  He does slap the off-duty officer with the firearm.
[00:06:24]  The video does depict Elijah pointing the firearm at the off-duty officer.
[00:06:29]  And the off-duty officer did respond, but we believe in accordance with his training.
[00:06:34]  He made a bad decision yesterday.
[00:06:37]  And unfortunately, it came with dire consequences.
[00:06:40]  Wilkes' mother was too distraught to speak, but other family members did.
[00:06:44]  I would also like to thank the Milwaukee Police Department for their transparency and their professionalism.
[00:06:50]  He made a decision that he should not have made.
[00:06:53]  Lamar said it was unlikely they'd pursue legal action.
[00:06:56]  Once we got an opportunity to actually see the video, there weren't many questions.
[00:07:01]  We had clarity as to what actually transpired.

[00:07:04]  So so many times I've seen incidents like this.
[00:07:07]  Now, well, you didn't have to kill him.
[00:07:09]  You could have shot him in the leg or something.

[00:07:35]  I mean, get a traffic accident that you cut somebody off, you pull over, and you get in the man's face and hit him in the face with your weapon.
[00:07:46]  It wouldn't be surprising that he had other bodies, other skeletons in his cousin.
[00:07:50]  This moon, I mean, people that are violent and the unalive people, it just doesn't happen overnight.
