Chicago police say a group of women were at a gathering when a black Jeep pulled up.
Multiple people with guns got out of the car and began shooting toward the group.
Police say nine women were hit.
The victims range in age from 20 to 33 years old.
A 21-year-old woman who was shot in the face later died at the hospital.
One woman, a 28-year-old, remains in critical condition.
While the seven others are showing their injuries are not life-threatening.
