	You won't believe what happened today and what Michael Cohen admitted, but let's listen to President Trump, who had to be there in the court very early this morning.
	We're waiting for him to come out today and speak, but that could happen any moment.
	But this was earlier this morning, Cut 14.
	As you know, I was supposed to be in a very different state this morning, and the judge actually decided to call this early.
	And yet, it looks like we're going to have a very big gap between days, and it's going to be determined right now in court.
	But we're here about an hour early today.
	I was supposed to be making speech.
	For political purposes, I'm not allowed to have anything to do with politics because I'm sitting in a very freezing cold courtroom for the last four weeks.
	It's very unfair.
	They have no case.
	They have no crime.
	It's been determined by everybody, every legal scholar.
	New York Post editorial board today, Trump prosecution, wind down.
	It's always been a witch hunt.
	With a prosecution winding down a Donald Trump's Manhattan case, we have to ask, in the immortal words of Peggy Lee, is that all there is?
	Is that all there is?
	Especially today.
	That was at 8.32 this morning.
	What did we find out today?
	The reports are back and forth on terms of the numbers, but one thing's for sure.
	The president's team, that very stern-looking attorney who's always standing next to the president, they managed to get Michael Cohen, the star witness in addition to the woman who gets paid to have sex on camera, admitted that he lied in court, which I thought should lead to a perjury charge.
	And what's worse than that, he stole from President Trump.
	He admitted!
	On the stand that he stole tens of thousands, perhaps as much as $400,000 from his former client.
	Jeff, there's no video here, but this MSNBC clip, there's no image of him.

	Yes, Lawrence O'Donnell.
	And what's he trying to do here when Michael Cohen admitted today that he STOLE from Donald Trump?
	What stopped the hammering guy doing?
	He's making a good point, that it really wasn't stealing.
	Because he felt like he deserved the money.
	It should have been a bonus, he said.
	Is that how it works?
	Like, if you're like a bank robber, you just say, I deserved it, therefore?
	Yeah, absolutely.
	It's the easiest way to get away from that.

	Lawrence O'Donnell, MSNBC Today, commenting on Michael Cohen on the witness stand today, admitting, yeah, yeah, I stole a lot of money from Donald Trump, my client.
	And that's where he very effectively got Michael Cohen to say, to agree, that yes, he stole $30,000.
	Later, when Cohen was asked about that on redirect by the prosecution, it didn't really sound like stealing $30,000.
	It sounded a lot like Michael Cohen doing the little that he could within that calculation to rebalance the bonus he thought he deserved, and it still came out.

	The leader of the opposition who is winning every poll in America to replace the current incumbent is sitting as we speak in a courtroom he's facing 730 years in prison 91 indictments from Georgia to Manhattan to Florida to DC and the witness arrayed against him stole from Donald Trump
	And what's the response from the people who are supposed to give you the unbiased information and analysis?
	Well, he didn't steal from Donald Trump.
	It was just a bonus he thought he deserved and he took it anyway.
	They're all whores.
	They're all prostitutes and they know it.
	They are lying for money.
	They are lying for power.

All right, before we get to your article, The Left's Funny Definition of Fascism, and it is rather peculiar, I've got to ask you, Dumpster fire, or worse, when the star witness on the stand admits that he lied under oath and that he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the man he is testifying against.
	What kind of prosecution are we talking about here?
	I mean, you are a man of the law.
	Explain to us how bad it is.
	I'd like to assure everybody out there that this is not how the law works.
	For example, any prosecutor with any kind of integrity would never put a Michael Cohen on the stand.
	Yes, sometimes you have to put bad guys on the stand to testify against other bad guys, but Donald Trump is not John Gotti, although MSNBC thinks he's going to become one if he gets re-elected.
	I mean, I'm just sitting there basically drooling at the cross-examination questions that come to mind.
	Yes, I stole $400,000 from my client.
	And of course, my question would be, oh, did you tell the district attorney that when you were talking to them about your testimony?
	Because if the answer is yes, they didn't charge you with that, so you would testify here, right?
	And if he says no, You're gonna say, oh, well, will you be charged with it within the next five days?
	Or are you not going to be charged with it because you've given testimony that just happens to perfectly line up with their bizarre and wrong legal theory?
	As a very successful attorney yourself, Who are these people?
	Because they seem like rank amateurs.
	When you look at, you know, Fanny Willis in Georgia paying the married man she's having an affair with hundreds of thousands of dollars.
	He takes her on luxury vacations.
	She says, oh, I reimbursed him with cash, but I have no receipts because I'm black.
	It's a kind of hood thing.
	I mean, they say this on the stand.
	I mean, are these people just really crap at what they do, and now we've caught them out?
	What's going on here?
	Well, look, Fannie Willis is a borderline clinical moron.
	She's a DEI hire.
	She's a joke.
	So anything stupid that she does, I kind of expect.
	I would expect a little more from some of the line prosecutors.
	But, you know, Dr. Gorka, what are you going to do when you're prosecuting somebody?
	for something that's not a crime, that's barred by statute of limitations, that's never been prosecuted before, that's factually not even supportable.
	I mean, how do you do it well?
	You have to make it up as you go along.
	You have to improvise.
	It looks like a joke because, surprise, it's a joke.
	But the guy who's meant to be, you know, the secret weapon for Alvin Bragg, this Colangelo chap, he was sent by the Biden administration.
	He was number three at the DOJ.
	I mean, the woman who runs the DOJ is really Lisa Monaco.
	He's right behind her.
	And this guy who's from the federal Department of Justice, who just magically floats over to Alvin Bragg's office to be a line prosecutor.
	This is the best they've got?
	But this isn't even a legal case.
	So the things that lawyers normally do in cases don't really apply here.
	It's all about trying to slime Donald Trump so that desiccated old pervert, if he shows up on June 27th, can call Trump a convicted felon.
	Of course, my suspicion is They'll say, well, the office of the president has too much dignity to share a stage with a convicted felon and use that to weasel out of the debate.
	He tried to bluff Trump into turning down.

	Well, apparently when Trump takes over in January, you know, the curtain will fall on American democracy, which until about 10 minutes ago was a good thing, but apparently Biden says it's a bad thing now, but I'm sure it'll be a good thing tomorrow.
	You know, Trump will launch an unprecedented, you know, his reign will be unprecedented, which is weird because it's totally precedented.
	Since he was just president and we didn't descend into a dictatorship.
	In fact, the closest thing to what that four years was, was a break from a descent into dictatorship.
	I mean, you've got somebody like Joe Biden, the guy with the problem with democracy today.
	Seems to have a problem with democracy all the time.
	I now understand from these people saying that Trump's an authoritarian, that Trump may deport Illegal aliens, Dr. Gorka, which seems to be in accordance with federal law which was passed by the representatives of the people.
	And right now Biden's Not doing the will of the people, which kind of undermines the whole democracy thing, right?
	Well clearly he doesn't like democracy based upon that cut.
	We've got a minute left and I have to ask you this trenchant question.
	You wrote a book in record time called The Attack about what it would look like if on October the 7th happened across America.
	You need to read it.

	What we need is an aggressive Justice Department, aggressive red state prosecutors.
	But particularly a federal government that looks for conspiracies going across state lines.

	We're less than six months away from the general election.
	And President Trump incredibly is already trouncing the current incumbent Joe Biden in five out of the six battleground states.
	And even the Sienna New York Times poll admits that Biden is in trouble.
	So it's probably a good time to stop and take stock of what it is President Trump and the MAGA movement stands for.
	I sat down last week and I decided to write my take on what the MAGA Manifesto 2.0 should look like because it's quite interesting that Make America Great Again, the slogan that defined a movement across the nation, was more of a sentiment than a completely evolved policy platform.
	Phrases like build the wall, make America great again, were about what?
	Fixing a broken situation and getting a man who lives in the real world to fix it.
	And defined by what?
	Most of all by love of country.
	So now, What?
	On the cusp of an election?
	Let's give it more depth.
	Let's put flesh on the bone.
	So what's the situation that MAGA responds to?
	What does President Trump still represent?
	America, for those who believe in MAGA, remains the greatest nation on God's green earth.
	The apex of the greatest civilization the world has ever seen.
	Judeo-Christian civilization.
	Which is based on what?
	On man's liberty derived from the fact that we are made in the image of our Creator.
	A world without that nation's leadership, not intervention, just leadership, is a dangerous place, destabilized by regimes that are free to threaten America, her allies and her friends.
	Those regimes which aren't founded on individual liberty or representative government.
	For decades, back at home, the American people, so the MAGA movement believes, have been betrayed by the business and political elite on both sides of the political aisle.
	An elite that simply doesn't believe in America and says the best we can do with a rising China, India, Iran, and so forth, is to, quote, manage the decline of the nation.
	That media is kept in power by a complicit media, or that elite is kept in power by a complicit media that are the willing propaganda shills for the people who just simply want to maintain power and who man the permanent bureaucracy.
	Unelected and unmovable agents of a regime that really doesn't believe in America.
	For them, presidents come and go.
	What really matters are the people inside the bureaucracy.
	As such, if you believe in America First, if you believe in making America great again, we believe that the values upon which the Republic was founded must be reinstated for all Americans to be able to live in freedom and for the world to be stable.
	So, what does MAGA 2.0 Look like?
	What do MAGA patriots have to do?
	Number one, most important of all, is to secure free and fair elections.
	This is the responsibility of every patriot.
	It's not Lara Trump's thing to fix or President Trump's.
	That's why my wife has gone from being a poll worker, a poll observer, To becoming in the last three years the chief election officer in our district of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
	So number one, secure the elections.
	Number two, re-elect President Donald Trump.
	A man who is detested by both sides of the political and business elite because he is a threat, a deadly threat, to their entrenched way of doing business.
	Thirdly, we have to restore the rule of law.
	We have to put that blindfold back on Lady Justice.
	We have to make sure That we have any judge who acts like a political actor, like Judge Murchan in New York, is impeached and removed from office.
	If you favor somebody because of their skin color or their last name, you are not fit to be a judge.
	When it comes to the economy and the lifeblood of our nation, we must protect American companies and American employees with international tariffs that penalize foreign manufacturers, especially China, and any U.S.
	company that wishes to outsource good American jobs to other nations, and so attack the working class of America.
	When it comes to national security, we just have to rebuild it.
	We have to rebuild America's military to make it capable of winning any war with any enemy and excise all ideology from within our armed services, starting with DEI and CRT.
	We need to reinstate aggressive tariffs against our greatest strategic foe, the communist state of China.
	We must punish universities that discriminate based upon race or ethnicity by denying them very simply a penny in federal funding and stripping them of their non-profit status.
	When it comes to the permanent bureaucracy, what is called the deep state, we have to identify the worst perpetrators of the permanent bureaucracy within the FBI, the DOJ, the intelligence community, those who have targeted Americans purely based on their political identity and denuded them of their civil rights under the color of law.
	These individuals must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law in courts outside of the District of Columbia.
	They will not receive A fair trial, and be judged by jury of their peers, in a city which voted 93% for Joe Biden.
	The President, after January 20th, must effect a pardon for all January 6th defendants who were maltreated by the DOJ, kept in pre-trial custody for years, and given custodial sentences for merely walking peacefully inside Congress.
	We must investigate and sanction all those responsible for the political motivated persecutions of these innocent Americans.
	Additionally, I would love to see a presidential committee to investigate the events of January the 6th, starting with why the current director of the FBI is incapable under oath on the floor of the Congress to say how many hidden FBI agents and assets were amongst the crowd on that infamous day.
	I'd also like to see a presidential committee to investigate the real causes of COVID-19, and which individuals helped fund the gain-of-function research in Communist China's only Level 4 military biolab, and bring them to justice.
	And perhaps most obvious of all, we need to secure the border, just as we did under the Trump administration, and then effect the biggest deportation of illegals in our history.
	Lastly, finish building the wall.

	And they're being treated like, you know, an FBI raid on Chris Cuny's house.
	That causes a miscarriage for his wife?
	It's unnecessary.
	And it's done because it is a war on truth.
	They are trying to send a message not only to the people that were there on January 6th that they are overly punishing, they're trying to send a message to the rest of America that if you ever, ever try to protest anything that we do again, this is what's going to happen to you.
	This is Gestapo tactics.
	It's hard to grasp that it's actually happening here, and it should not be happening in the United States of America.
	And they're deliberately going after... I mean, that fact that he gave the command salute for the burial of one of the greatest presidents of the modern age, that they're going after the veterans, that's a deliberate decision, correct, Nick?
	Absolutely.
	I mean, back when Obama was president, John Napolitano released a memo that said the biggest threats that we face in this country are people who want a secure border, Christians, and returning veterans.
	And so what you see is that's mostly who was at Washington, who was in Washington on January 6.
	These decent Americans that believe in the Constitution, want a secure border, that's who they're going after.
	And it is deliberate.
	It's not some sort of coincidence.
	They are deliberately trying to suppress the votes.

	So we met a few days ago.
	We had a wonderful dinner together.
	We didn't know what was going to happen in Iran this weekend.
	We only have a few minutes with you.

	What does this mean, if anything?
	How should Americans interpret this?
	And what does it mean for the regime that the head of state, the foreign minister and other key leaders died in this helicopter crash?
	Well, Professor, many good points.
	Let me quickly, with the window that we have, summarize the maximum for your audience.
	Number one, the debate about how this happened, the death of Raisi, is still open.
	So many questions, right and left, one of which is, this corridor has been using with or without fog for, you know, many, many years.
	And it happens that out of the three helicopters, which should be advanced and then well informed by The regional radars, only one goes down and the other two helicopters do not circle around.
	You know, like we see in the movies, you have to circle around and then radio where the position is.
	That is only an intro, Professor, to the idea that this may not have been just a normal accident, or it's a half-accident, or something has been messing with that specific helicopter.
	Why?
	Because what we know is that there is a struggle of wings inside the regime.
	Raisi, you know, controlled the government, the state, but he's not the ultimate boss.
	The ultimate boss is Khamenei.
	Khamenei has his son as a candidate for the presidency and therefore later on to become the next Khamenei.
	So all that seems to me with information we're getting and hopefully
	in a few days or next week we could meet again and I will give you more of what
	I find but basically there is a struggle and there is a wing
	that is now going to control the presidency and that's not good news for us.
	Now before we get to the not good news for us, so the likelihood that this is done by the
	anti-Ra'isi faction, the Ayatollahs and not an act by a foreign state, by Israel, would you put
	that likelihood at higher that it was a domestic action?
	Absolutely.
	I mean, first of all, Israel strategically has zero interest in bringing down a president for any reason, regardless of who's going to come and take over.
	Israel has more other concerns, the troops, the Pasdaran, everything else.
	And they know that this is a totalitarian system.
	As you know about the Soviet Union, you replace the Secretary General with another Secretary General.
	The president of the system with another president that they're going to produce.
	It's really the, I call him the grand taco, the head of the Islamic Republic who's important, and not even him.
	It's actually those who are around him and who are protected and guarded by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard.
	These are the real power centers of the, so therefore I believe that Israel has, you know, I don't say nothing to do with it, but it's not the principal suspect in this operation.
	How many, if his son is emboldened or takes over, that's bad news?
	He is going to take over at this point in time because Raisi doesn't have those troops on the ground only because he's a president.
	and that's something that has not been even discussed.
	He can give orders to the army.
	That would have been a development.
	You mentioned Mr. Pahlavi.
	That's what Pahlavi was looking forward to find at one point
	that piece of the institution will go against the other piece of the institution.
	That's another discussion.
	When Raisi either direct, no, when Khomeini number, Khamenei number two
	will take over or will place a friend, because that's what I think is gonna actually happen.
	He's not gonna come himself and have his father being the boss.
	That won't run well.
	So what's gonna happen?
	He's gonna put an ally and the ally will actually prompt Khomeini number two,
	Khamenei number two to become the big leader.
	But when that happens, my prediction, my projection is that the Islamic Republic
	will be on steroids.
	There will be nothing to stop them from, especially that we have the Biden administration
	week, week, week.
	at least next January. We don't know what's going to happen in the elections, but next
	January will be the only other opportunity for a change in US policy. So look what a
	next Islamic Republic will be able to do over the next six to seven months.

	So let's, before we talk about that stuff and why you have the testicular fortitude to do what you do today, tell us a little bit about your story because we got to know you or we got to know each other when I was, you know, working in counterterrorism and you were a specialist in the Middle East.
	So in a nutshell, give us the DC elevator pitch on Lee Smith.
	Where did he come from?
	Well, you know, you and I first started to know each other working on the Middle East, trying to figure out what was going on there.
	And that's what happened.
	That's why I wound up moving to the Middle East very shortly after 9-11 to figure out what had happened.
	You know, I mean, I'm from New York City.
	New York City was My hometown, sort of figure out what, why there was a mass grave in the downtown of the city, the great American city where I was raised.
	So, I mean, I think that those things are important.
	You talk about what motivates people to find different things out, to invest It's that, I mean, because there are things that we love, there are things that we love, and you want to take care of the things that you love, and you also learn to be more comfortable with the things that you hate.
	Or you learn to be comfortable, rather, with the fact that it's okay to hate different things, right?
	We don't have to be, we don't have to be people, oh, well, I don't know, you know, there are both sides to every equation, let's be nuanced and let's be subtle.
	No, I mean, as I quote in The Strong Horse, I say that I quote Plato saying that dogs are the most philosophical of animals.
	And why does he say that?
	He says because dogs can tell the difference between friends and enemies, right?
	You have dogs.
	You have dogs.
	Dogs come up to their masters.
	They come up to people they love.
	And they know who to fear and who to hold in contempt and who to hate.
	And so I think it's important.
	I think it's important for us to hold on.
	To that essential wisdom, that it's okay to hold those things that you love most dearly closely and the things that you hate, the things that you fear, it's good to fight them.
	So, let's talk about that rather monumentous decision, because after 9-11, the average reaction to the biggest terrorist attack in modern history isn't, oh, I'm going to go to the Middle East, where these terrorists came from.
	So, what were you doing at the time?
	What made you take that decision?
	And what did you find in the Middle East?
	You mentioned the book, let's put it up on the screen again.
	This is how I got to know you, The Strong Horse, Power, Politics, and the Clash of Arab Civilizations.
	So, walk us through that rather manly decision of yours.
	Well, again, a lot of it was I wanted to find out.
	What had happened in New York.
	I didn't have a family at the time, so I was able to do different things that other people wouldn't have been able to do.
	So I took advantage of my circumstances at the time, and I went there.
	And I have to tell you, more than 20 years on, we all kind of understand the basic layout, or we should understand the basic layout of what's happening.
	and much of the Middle East and the relationship with the United States and Israel.
	But for me, nonetheless, it was surprising at first to find—I didn't hear what people
	were really saying.
	And what people were really saying were—I was living at the time in Cairo, people were
	justifying 9-11.
	They weren't exactly celebrating it, though people did point to different places where 9-11 was celebrated, but people justified it.
	And it was so incredible to me.
	It took me many months to hear that, to hear exactly what was going on, because it's hard to believe.
	And so now when we see things in the news, in particular the October 7th massacre, It should be easier, I think, for Americans to understand what's going on, to have some insight into that and say, you know, we hear different people rationalize it remarkably, monstrously, saying, well, you really must understand the history of the conflict.
	OK, right.
	That's fine if you want to talk about the history of the conflict, but the idea that there's some sort of rationale.
	Anywhere inside there for the slaughter, for the different things that Hamas and Palestinian civilians as well did to Israelis, did to women, children, families.
	It's just absolutely monstrous.
	So I think it's very important right now that we see things clearly.
	We've had a while to understand it, to see things clearly.
	And so, Seb, the things that you and I were working on when we first met.
	These are things that have not gone away.
	This is still part of our reality as Americans.
	It's still part of our concerns looking at the peace and prosperity of the United States.
	The Middle East is still a part of that.
	So all the different things that you and I learned studying this and analyzing it, They're still important.
	They're still vital.
	Again, it's not so much understanding strategy and history.
	I do think there is a very important line here to realize what is good and what is evil.
	So when different people say, yes, it's not just a political battle.
	It's a spiritual war.
	So look at who the people are who have aligned themselves with Hamas, with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
	And unfortunately, we have to see it.
	It's the White House, right?
	This is what's happening.
	So when we hear different people saying, look, the reason that Biden is going a little hard on Israel or holding back arms is because he's worried about the vote in Michigan.
	No, no, it's not a particular constituency of the Democratic Party.
	It's the party itself, right?
	Barack Obama came to an agreement with an anti-American regime The Islamic Republic of Iran that embodies Jew hatred.
	Okay, so this was Barack Obama legalizing their nuclear weapons program, right?
	That's not an act of enmity.
	That's rather a token of friendship, a promise of a coming alliance.
	So this is the fundamental issue.
	that we're dealing with, right? It's not a bunch of rabid lunatics somewhere in Dearborn.
	No, we, and sadly, sadly, as you said, my first book, Defeating Jihad, I thought would be a
	footprint, a little footprint in history, but sadly, your book and my book are more relevant than ever.

	We've skipped a bit forward and then we can come back in a moment, but we have this incredible clip from the Yad Vashem from the Prime Minister of Israel that is, I think, an exemplar 80 years ago, in the Holocaust, the Jewish people were totally defenseless against those who sought our destruction.
	No nation came to our aid.
	Today, we again confront enemies bent on our destruction.
	I say to the leaders of the world, no amount of pressure, no decision by any international forum will stop Israel from defending itself.
	As the Prime Minister of Israel, the one and only Jewish state, I pledge here today, from Jerusalem, on this Holocaust Remembrance Day, if Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone.
	But we know we're not alone.
	Because countless decent people around the world support our just cause.
	And I say to you, we will defeat our genocidal enemies.
	Never again is now.
	So, I've been saying, look, you know much better than I do, you've actually lived in the region, but I've been saying for years as somebody who's visited Israel, I don't know, a dozen times, worked closely with the IDF, had their offices in my classrooms here in DC, Israel, whatever happens, Israel will do what has to be done.
	However, let's look at that little clip from that little speech there.
	That's what leadership, that's what being a man looks like, correctly?
	Yeah.
	Well, I agree, Seban.
	I mean, I know you're not, but I would say, look, one of the things that's really struck me, if you're talking about manhood, if you're talking about responsibility, if you're talking about accountability, one of the incredible things, I think, that's happened here, it's not just the prime minister and the The military, the war cabinet in Israel.
	But right after October 7th, what happened was you saw all these pictures, right?
	Of all these young men and women, Israelis all around the world.
	And their first thought was, I have to get back home, right?
	I have to get back home and I'm going to fight and I'm going to serve.
	And the whole idea was, I'm going to protect my country.
	I'm going to protect my family.
	I'm going to protect the things that I believe in.
	And that I thought was just so incredible.
	All these young people, and they've done their service, right?
	So these are reservists.
	They were traveling the world, they're studying, you know, the Israelis, they go to all these crazy places, you know, to celebrate the fact that they're, you know, that they have some liberty now, but they all had to get back.
	And I, for me, I had this in contrast to, because you see it as much as I do, you know, A lot of the nastiness in our country and a lot of the hatred of Israel, and it's partly about these animals who are protesting, right?
	College campuses shutting down, shutting down roads to airports, Grand Central Station.
	I mean, it's just ridiculous.
	But also, unfortunately, Seb, as you know, we have some people on the right as well.
	And these are people on the right who are, you know, they love America.
	They love their country.
	They say they do.
	And they're proud, manly men.
	And I'm like, what is your problem with Israel?
	Look at these boys who are all around the world and what's their first thought?
	I have to take care of my country.
	I have to take care of mom and dad.
	I have to take care of my sisters.
	I have to take care of my wife.
	I have to take care of my children.
	I got to go out and protect them.
	So I think, you know, if you're talking about examples of manhood, certainly the prime minister of Israel is impressive, saying that we will stand alone.
	And what has he said before?
	He said, we'll fight with our nails if we have to, if we're not going to get armed.
	But it's all of these young people, too, right?
	These incredible young people, their first instinct was, no, we have to take care of our families.
	We have to take care of our country, our neighbors, and we're going to We're going to root these bastards out of their tunnel networks, like the little rats they are.
	So, yeah, I mean, again, I think this was, amidst all the darkness, some really just incredible stuff.
	And you read the stories of what people were doing who were caught, whether it was at the music festival or other places, just incredibly, incredibly heroic actions.
	And that's one of the things, I know a few people, a couple of Israelis, I don't know if any Americans are doing it, but they're putting together books about October 7th, which I expect to be both horrifying, but also incredibly galvanizing.
	I mean, again, some of the heroic acts of sacrifice, just really, truly amazing.
	Yeah, if we look at the figures, those who volunteered in the first few days after October the 7th, they had a 150% volunteer rate from the reservists.
	Because people in their 60s, you know, people who are way past their requirement to serve, were saying, no, no, I'm going to fight for my country.
	And to your point, we literally had on, what day was it?
	It was Thursday, Two amazing, of course they're immigrants to America, they're from Ireland, Anne McElhinney and Phyllis McAleer, who have taken the words of Israeli survivors
	of October the 7th and turned it into a play that is going to be on Broadway.
	I'm going to go and see it because the testament of those who survived, who stood up, who volunteered, just the tenacity of this nation.

	If we had an equivalent event here in America, Do you think that we would have the same illustrious, full-throated response from young men and women?
	Or has the assault on masculinity infected us too badly?
	Well, I think it's not just an assault on masculinity.
	Because, I mean, remember what happened after 9-11.
	after 9-11. There were a whole bunch of young men who enlisted to protect their country,
	and they were outraged and inspired. And look at what's happened. I mean, you know,
	you see these guys, there are many of them who have written books, many of them writing articles.
	I mean, some really tremendous writers and expressions of, you know, the way they articulate
	what's happened over the last 20 years. And one of the things we understand, Seb, is the level
	of corruption, right? Not just in American civilian leadership, but military leadership as well. And
	you look at the sacrifices that these young men, some of them, again, some of them boys,
	the sacrifices they made and the leadership.
	of our country.
	It's just been disgraceful and despicable.
	What did they turn the global war on terror into?
	They turned it into a boondoggle.
	Washington, D.C.
	became rich, right?
	All around the city, all of these incredibly wealthy counties and good, God bless Washington, D.C.
	But look at the way, again, the establishment, military, political, intelligence, security establishments, the media.
	Look at what they turned American sacrifice and heroism into.
	They turned it into a machine to get themselves rich.
	So if something similar were to happen again today, I'm afraid that a lot of people would
	Yeah.
	and say, what about, and we know, because we know about levels of military enlistment
	right now and how hard it is for everyone basically but the Marine Corps to recruit.
	Because people are saying, you know, my dad, my uncle, my older brother, they're saying
	that this whole thing is ridiculous.
	That no one in charge is looking out, no one in charge is looking out for soldiers.
	No one else is looking out for.
	the young men and women who are willing to sacrifice everything to honor their country.
	None of the people on top give a damn. So that's one of the things, again, it's not just an attack on masculinity.
	It's a betrayal of America by the ruling party.
	By the ruling class.
	Disgraceful.

	Because she was a very fiery person, right?
	And she believed in something strongly.
	She fought for it and she enjoyed it, you know?
	She liked doing it.
	So I was always, you know, I was inspired by her.
	And also, you know, someone who's that They appreciate that you have the same kind of temperament that they do.
	They encourage it.
	So, yeah, so it's a temperamental thing.
	And, you know, it's a lot of... I think that's what it is.
	You know, someone that I've worked with, and he's a friend, who's also an incredible leader, Devin Nunes.
	Yes.
	Uh, you know, which is what the plot against the president against, uh, is, is about, uh, you know, uh, Devin's investigation of, of Russiagate.
	But, you know, but I say to him and then he gets, he gets upset.
	I say, yeah, you like to fight.
	He's like, I don't like to fight.
	I said, look, what I mean is, is, is that a lot of us, almost everyone likes to win, but a lot of people aren't committed to doing what it takes to win.
	And you do.
	And if other people aren't going to fight, you'll step up and go, OK, I guess we have to fight.
	I guess someone has to do this.
	And so I think that's such an important thing, saying, you know, being willing to do what it takes.
	to win, right?
	So, yeah, but I think the most important person I got that from is my mom.
	But then looking around, there's plenty of examples and Devin is one of them.
	Of course, you know, of course, another person that we're looking at all the time now
	on TV all the time is Donald Trump.
	I mean, it's just amazing, but this is so far beyond, this is so far beyond of what most of us understand
	by fighting or winning, right?
	I mean, the guy, again, he just gets stronger and stronger every time they push him down.
	But for most people, for most mortals, it's about getting in there and saying, okay, you're going to take some licks, people are going to go after you.
	It's not going to be easy, but do you enjoy what you're doing?
	Do you enjoy Your fight.
	Do you believe in your fight?
	Is your fight important?
	And if you think it is, then then there's nothing more and then there's nothing better than it, right?
	Let me ask you one question because I need a favor from you because I have high blood pressure and you know, I get you know, I love I actually like the fight.
	I revel in it.
	But you and Devin, you are so cool, calm and collected.
	These things They make me angry.
	I know everything that happened in the Flynn movie, but what they did to that man and his family, just 20 minutes in, I was fulminating again.
	How do you stay so calm?
	Is it just your genetic demeanor?
	I've always wondered, Lee.
	No, really, I'm not.
	You said that one of the last times we spoke and I was very flattered.
	I told my wife, who says hi, by the way.
	I send her love and is eager to see you and your family soon.
	But she didn't sneer, but she laughed.
	She didn't think it was a very... So she thinks, is there a side of you?
	Do you let the steam out at home or what?
	Because you seem very in control all the time.
	Yeah, I mean, you know, to come back to my mother, my mother, my late mother was Puerto Rican.
	I was born in Puerto Rico.
	So she had a very, very fiery temperament.
	So yeah, you know, I do too.
	And it comes out at different, you know, it comes out at different times all the time.
	But as I said last time, also, I think that I think that one of the important things that we can do, that we have to do, is while we do show emotion, while it is everything from horrifying to it enrages us, I think one of the most important things is that we can be clear and tell people, explain to people, whether it's our family and friends, our neighbors, our readers,
	By the way, Seb, I want to say before we're out of time, your substack is great.
	I'm really enjoying it so much.
	I hope you write more often, in fact, but it's really terrific.
	Well, thank you kindly.
	I was wondering who my reader was.
	It's good to know.
	Well, you know, I don't know how much you're publicizing it, and I realize that I haven't sent your new ones out on my social media stuff, but it's really good.
	And I find that it's really clear.
	I find that you're laying out different issues very clearly.
	And, you know, I think the other thing is, I think the other thing is you talk about,
	I think that our passion is something that can be conveyed through clarity, right?
	A lot of the times, the more we scream or the more angry we get, it sort of gets lost.
	But if you say different things, if you write a good sentence, if you write a good paragraph, if you make a good argument, that passion comes through, right?
	The clarity.
	People understand.
	People are good readers.
	People are good listeners.
	They hear it themselves.
	The thing is to evoke, I think, passion in the people that we're speaking to, the people that we're writing to.
	It's been a goal since my very first book.
	to what we're thinking and what we're talking about and it moves them, it moves their passions,
	moves them to act, moves them to do something.
	So I think that's what passion really comes through.

	I mean, it's been a goal since my very first book.
	I wrote my first book and a friend of mine was the editor, a lovely guy, incredibly erudite guy,
	and he sent back the first two chapters and it was just a sea of red.
	And he changed every sentence and used much longer words, fancy words, got out the thesaurus and I said,
	Tom, I love you.
	You touch what I'm writing and I'm not gonna publish the book.
	I want the broadest audience possible.
	to be able to understand it and to his credit he respected that because I don't I'm not writing a book for experts I want to write I want to write articles and books for everyone and that's exactly what you do from the strong horse to the plot against the president and the permanent coup you've got to read Lee's books and follow him at Lee Smith DC.
	One of the things that drives me And I know it drives you, Lee, is justice, or rather injustice.
	If you want to make me angry, demonstrate to me a great injustice.
	And I demonstrate that.
	I want to use this clip from my Newsmax show with with Jerry Perna, the aunt of the January 6th, the young
	man who did nothing wrong on January 6th, was charged with a terrorist crime that would have led to
	him being in prison for more than 10 years, and then he killed himself instead of Biden's DOJ putting
	him away. Let's just play that clip.
	Matt hung himself in his garage and our family was crushed and still is crushed.
	They pushed him to this.
	I want people to understand what she just said.
	A young man, a good young man, was pushed to death to commit suicide because of this administration and this Department of Justice.
	I want every viewer to be clear That that man died because of the Biden administration.
	And I want everybody who's watching to remember this man and to never give up in the name of America because he is a martyr to this nation.
	Lee, whether it's the memory of the now five young men who committed suicide rather than be persecuted by Biden's Department of Justice, whether it's Catholics being illegally surveilled by the FBI because they go to Latin Mass, or whether it's the President of the United States or his deputy, Peter Navarro, or my former boss in the White House, Steve Bannon, isn't this, isn't what you chart and document relevant to all Americans and don't all men need to take a stand?
	You would like to think that you would like to think that all Americans once they understood the amount of damage I mean Jerry's family and Jerry you know Jerry Perna she's out there all the time and I mean, her nephew, Matthew, just seems like he was, you know, she's talked about him.
	He just seems like a lovely, just a lovely guy, just a terrific guy.
	And Jerry talks about how much everyone loved him.
	And you'd like to think that all Americans, once they understood that he was just a very kind, generous young man, enthusiastic about so many different things.
	And this was important to him.
	To be there on January 6th, the protest.
	And then this nightmare just began.
	So you would like to think that most Americans would say, yeah, that's terrible.
	That's terrible what happened to this guy.
	That's just awful.
	So now, thank you for informing me.
	Now I understand what's been going on.
	And my opinion has changed.
	And more importantly than my mind, my heart has changed, right?
	I understand what the Biden people, what the Biden Justice Department has been doing to Americans.
	This is really evil and sinister.
	And so I, as an American, as a decent person, must take my stand.
	I have to take a role.
	I have to participate in some way.
	But Seb, as we know, that this is not what's happening, right?
	That there are people, I mean, you see on social media, but it's not just social media.
	I mean, the people, both local governments and ghouls on social media,
	the way that they've attacked Jerry and the way that they've attacked Matthew's memory.
	I mean, it's just awful.
	So this is what I mean when I say that our battle is very serious.
	So you're asking before about what gets you going.
	This is it.
	It's not abstract.
	It's how we live.
	It's a matter of will we live as free Americans or will we live as slaves?
	Will we live as animals?
	Because clearly that's the intention.
	To drive half the country against people like Matthew Perna.
	Why?
	What did he do to hurt anyone?
	Nothing.
	Ever.
	But why are people supposed to turn against him?
	Because that's the larger play.
	Coming from this corrupt and morally rotten regime.
	That's what's going on.
	So that's how important our fight is.
	Are you seeing any signs, I mean you, Devin, Kash Patel, are you seeing other echoes of what fighters like yourselves are doing or are you dissatisfied?
	No, no, I just saw, actually I was visiting Devin this week and I'm like, you know, and the gang at Truth Social, boy, those guys are amazing.
	I mean, you know, and a lot of these guys, a lot of these guys have been, you know, have worked with Devin for a while, so a lot of them were part of the Russia investigation.
	But beyond those people, beyond the fighters that we know, are you seeing any ripples through society?
	Oh, absolutely.
	Absolutely.
	All the time.
	Look, I think it's an important thing for us to realize how slow things go, right?
	There are people who came to the light with COVID.
	There are people who have come to the light with the trans agenda.
	There were people who came to the light with January 6th, right?
	So, not everyone's going to be in different stages, but the more and more that people say, wait, there's something not right with our country right now.
	What's going on?
	And that's what I mean about us being able to explain things, right?
	Because it's not just about medical freedom, or it's not just about the lawfare campaign being waged against Donald Trump right now.
	It's a very large effort and a very dark effort, right?
	Here's the other thing.
	I don't think that we should think about it in terms of a deep state anymore.
	And I want to clarify quickly what I mean by that.
	If we just look at it as a large bureaucratic network, that makes it almost impossible to think.
	I think that what we need to do is we need to map out different parts of the regime network, right?
	And say, who are the 25 or 50 people whose names keep reappearing again and again, right?
	Whether these are people who are financing it.
	whether these are people who are working from the legal angle, whether these are people who are on
	the political angle, whether they're people with the media.
	So who are the people who are running this? Because Seb, we know what bureaucrats are like, even
	at the FBI. Now, these boys may have guns and badges, but still they're bureaucrats.
	They can't go to the bathroom without paperwork.
	So the idea somehow that they're running this whole show, they're not.
	There are a lot of very bad guys, as our excellent crew of whistleblowers, The Suspendables, has shown.
	There are a lot of very bad people in the FBI.
	But again, the way to go after the bureaucracy is not to go after every bureaucrat.
	Right?
	It's not to worry about the guys who are at the mid-levels at the FBI.
	That will take care of itself if you go after the top people.
	So that's what's important, to name the names, to map out the connections.
	The worst transgressors have to pay a penalty, have to stand in court, and they have to be
	judged for what they did, whether it was to Matt Perna, to the 72-year-old grandmother
	who prayed in Congress and just got a custodial sentence, or whether it was the FBI agents
	who agreed, like jackbooted Gestapo thugs, to raid President Trump's home, you know,
	with loaded guns in their holsters.

	Lee, you've said at the very beginning that this isn't just political, this isn't just about bureaucrats or the deep state.
	The war against everything we hold sacred and the values upon which the Republic was founded is a spiritual war.
	When you wake up in the morning, What makes you engage in that spiritual war?
	What is it you think about?
	I can't believe how perfect... It's almost like we rehearsed this, but we didn't.
	I wish we would have, but we didn't.
	But you were just talking about your wonderful wife's new book that she co-wrote with Mike Gonzalez.
	And I had a chance to speak to him on the show I do for Epoch TV.
	It's a book club show.
	We talk about books.
	And they came on and they talked about next-gen Marxism.
	And Katie... And I said, Look, what is the end state of next-gen Marxism?
	What was the end state of any form of Marxism?
	What's going on here?
	And Katie said something that I've been thinking about.
	The show, I think, just premiered recently, but we talked about it two weeks ago, and she said, yeah, I think what it really is, it's a spiritual condition.
	I'm like, what do you mean by that?
	And she's like, well, it's unstable, it's dislocated.
	I'm like, wow, that is really fascinating.
	So what we're talking about is, and it's not that large a chunk of society, but when we talk about the protesters who are out on, the pro-Hamas protesters, when we talk about the different deranged officials in the Biden administration, the different fanatical donors in Obama world, I think that is I think that's that's what it is.
	It's what Katie, what your wife was getting at.
	Right.
	It's about it's about instability.
	That's who they are.
	That's what's in their heads.
	That's what's in their hearts.
	And that's what's in their soul.
	And that's what they're trying to force on the rest of the country.
	Right.
	That kind of that fear and panic.
	Right.
	And that's not the way we're supposed to be living as human beings, as Americans.
	So I think a lot of that's what it is.
	And it comes back again to trying to be cool.
	And how to convey our passion, right?
	Because it really is a spiritual conflict, and a lot of that spiritual conflict is not letting the bad people throw us off balance.
	So again, Katie said that, and that's just been on my mind for a couple weeks since she said it.
	I'm like, yeah, wow, that's really interesting.
	And it's a great book, too, by the way, I should add.
	But that statement of hers, It's really stuck in my head for a couple weeks now.

	But yes, you know, destabilizing the soul of a human being makes it much easier to control them.
	So I think she's on to something.
