Media Blackout as 56% of States Enact Constitutional Carry
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
Just yesterday, Louisiana became the 28th state in the nation to pass something known as constitutional carry.
Specifically, yesterday, Governor Jeff Landry, he signed into law Senate Bill 1, allowing American citizens over the age of 21 to be able to conceal carry their gun without a government-issued permit.
Upon signing the bill, which just for your reference was pushed forward by the NRA, here's what Governor Landry said in a statement.
It's fundamentally clear.
Law-abiding citizens should never have to seek government permission to safeguard themselves and their families.
Today, we have secured an incredible victory for liberty in Louisiana.
And as such, by signing this bill into law, it officially not only made Louisiana the 28th state in the nation to become a constitutional carry state, but then also, as a practical matter, it means that well over half the country have embraced constitutional carry.
Now in practical terms, these constitutional carry laws, they strengthen the Second Amendment rights of the people living in those particular states by allowing those citizens to conceal carry their weapons without the need of a government-issued permit.
Basically, as long as you are already a legal gun owner, you are now allowed to conceal carry your weapon within the borders of that state, with the idea being that That such a right is actually bestowed upon you by the U.S. Constitution itself.
Essentially, in these different states, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the only permit that you need to carry a gun.
And what's truly interesting here is that despite the rhetoric that's being amplified by the mainstream media outlets across the whole country about how limiting access to gun rights is the popular consensus opinion, well, in reality, it appears to be the exact opposite.
Over the past 30-odd years, people across the country They have been electing representatives to their local state legislatures, who then subsequently expand gun rights.
And so, just to really appreciate the change that's taken place in this country over the last 30-odd years, let's for one, smash those like and subscribe buttons so that this information can reach ever more people.
And then right afterwards, let's take a look at two maps side by side.
In 1986, this was the state of America.
There were 16 no-issue states, meaning nobody could get a concealed carry permit.
There were 25 May-issue states, where a government bureaucrat decided if you deserve a permit.
There were 8 shall-issue states, where you could get a permit, but you had to apply.
And then there was only one state, Vermont, which had constitutional carry.
But then you fast forward a short 37 years, and as of this year, you have zero no-issue states, you have eight may-issue states, and those are all being challenged legally after a Supreme Court decision, and those might go away soon.
You have 15 shall-issue states, and then you now have 28 constitutional carry states.
That is, by all metrics, a very stark contrast.
Furthermore...
This push towards constitutional carry doesn't appear to be slowing down, which becomes quite evident if we look back over just the last three years.
In 2021, you had Arizona, Utah, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas adopt constitutional carry.
In 2022, you had Indiana, Georgia, and Ohio adopt it as well.
In 2023, you had Alabama, Florida, as well as Nebraska.
And then this year, which is only three months in, you have the state of Louisiana.
That is a total of 14 states in the last, effectively, three years.
And one of the main reasons that more and more people are electing local representatives who then vote for constitutional carry provisions is because of the fact that, unfortunately, cities in this country are becoming more and more dangerous and people want to be able to defend both themselves as well as their loved ones.
And again, despite the media making it seem like there's absolutely no connection between owning a gun and protecting yourself and your family, well, the data is actually quite clear on this point.
Allowing people to carry guns empowers citizens to be able to protect themselves from criminals.
For instance, After Ohio became a constitutional carry state, the Center for Justice Research, they partnered with Bowling Green University to research what that change did to gun violence across the entirety of the state.
And here is a local NBC affiliate breaking down the findings.
The study was published today by the Center for Justice Research through a partnership between Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office and Bowling Green State University.
I remember back on June 13th, the state began allowing citizens to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
The study looked at gun violence in the state's eight largest cities.
Six saw less gun crimes after the law changed.
The data spans from June 2021 to June 2023.
And one of those cities that saw a decrease was the city of Columbus.
Before the law, the rate per 1,000 people of crimes was 10.79.
It dropped to nearly 9.5%.
Other cities that saw decreases are Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, Parma, and Canton.
The cities that featured a jump are Cincinnati and Dayton.
NBC4 spoke with Attorney General Dave Yost today, who says this proves those statements are not true.
So I think this is worth watching as we go to the future to see if it remains the same.
But this is scientifically a good piece of work, and it definitively says that constitutional carry did not create additional gun violence.
What a novel finding.
When criminals know that everyday people are potentially packing heat, they're less likely to commit crime.
Who would have thought?
Regardless, it's exactly research like this, which is having the people in more and more states across the country consider joining the Constitutional Carry Club.
Although I will mention that Constitutional Carry, it allows people to publicly carry their handguns, either openly or concealed, without the need for a government-issued license.
However, there are quite a few other states that are not constitutional carry, but they do allow for the permitless open carry of handguns.
You can't conceal carry, but you can open carry without a permit.
And so, if we go back to that map, and you add those states which allow for open carry without a license, well, you clearly see that the overwhelming majority of this country allows their citizens to carry their handguns in public.
And so again, despite the picture that the media wants to paint, the underlying reality is that the actual people Living in the actual counties across the whole country, well, they voted for that.
If you'd like to go deeper into the subject of constitutional carry, or if you'd like to read that research paper that came out of Ohio, I'll throw the links to all my research notes down into the description box below if you're the type of person that likes to dig into the weeds.
All right, just to pause here for a super quick moment.
Listen, it's obvious that the financial system is not looking too great.
After being pumped up with trillions of virtually free government dollars for many, many years now, well, the stock bubble might actually burst in the near future.
And in that process, unfortunately, it could take away the nest egg of anyone who happens to be exposed to it.
And so, consider taking this opportunity to diversify into something which is beyond the grasp of Washington, D.C., and Wall Street, physical gold and silver.
And the best company to use, in my opinion, is the sponsor of today's episode, American Hartford Gold, who, I should mention, is also my own personal gold and silver bullion dealer.
And besides myself, they have thousands of five-star reviews from other Americans, and they also have an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau.
And working with them is rather simple.
They have a huge selection of coins, bars, and rounds to choose from.
They have super friendly staff who you can call, and they can set up either gold delivery directly to your doorstep, or they can even set you up in a gold IRA. And then lastly, best of all, if you tell them that Roman sent you, they will throw in a free gold coin with your first qualifying purchase.

Well, you're in luck, because I do.
Over on EpicTV, our awesome no-centership video platform, I publish anywhere between one to three exclusive episodes of Facts Matter every single week, usually on topics that are unfortunately too spicy for here on YouTube.
Things related to COVID, things related to the vaccines, things related to voter fraud and ballot fraud, things related to climate science.
Basically, everything on there, just like the episodes here on YouTube, it's properly sourced, it's fact-based, But the reality is that there's an algorithm here on YouTube which crawls my speech, and if they pick out certain keywords that they don't like, well, they can throttle the episode, delete the episode, they've even been known to delete channels outright.
And so that's exactly why we created EpicTV, a platform where we don't have to self-censor and we can just lay out all the facts.
And so if you'd like to get access to that platform, not only my shows, but a plethora of other great programs on there as well, well, now's a great opportunity because the Epic Times is running a phenomenal promotional sale.
Just 25 cents a week for the whole year, which, if you do the math, works itself out to just be a single dollar a month.
