| We're the most understaffed agency in the entire nation. | |
| NYPD has 4 cops for every 1,000 residents. | |
| I have 0.9 cops for every 1,000 residents in LA. And so we're spread far too far. | |
| With that, the crooks know it. | |
| So they have a reasonable expectancy they can do a heinous crime and get away with it, at least in the short term. | |
| Look at Venice. | |
| They basically gave up on Venice. | |
| Said, screw it. | |
| We're not going to do anything because we're very compassionate. | |
| We don't want to touch the homeless. | |
| 340 jobs, 10,000 employees, and they were willing to just piss it away to show how woke they were. | |
| That's insane. | |
| It hurts the very same people they claim to be defending. | |
| We don't want to see a dystopian future where it looks like a scene out of a Mad Max movie. | |
| That future is not one that I'm going to support, so I'm going to do everything I can to push back against it because my job is to get the job done. | |
| Period. | |
| Too many people are in the way for the wrong reason. | |
| Not because they have some other idea and they firmly believe it. | |
| No. | |
| What keeps them in office, what gets them re-elected. | |
| That's their entire calculus. |
