[00:00:00]  We're the most understaffed agency in the entire nation.
[00:00:03]  NYPD has 4 cops for every 1,000 residents.
[00:00:06]  I have 0.9 cops for every 1,000 residents in LA. And so we're spread far too far.
[00:00:13]  With that, the crooks know it.
[00:00:14]  So they have a reasonable expectancy they can do a heinous crime and get away with it, at least in the short term.
[00:00:19]  Look at Venice.
[00:00:20]  They basically gave up on Venice.
[00:00:22]  Said, screw it.
[00:00:23]  We're not going to do anything because we're very compassionate.
[00:00:25]  We don't want to touch the homeless.
[00:00:27]  340 jobs, 10,000 employees, and they were willing to just piss it away to show how woke they were.

[00:00:33]  It hurts the very same people they claim to be defending.
[00:00:36]  We don't want to see a dystopian future where it looks like a scene out of a Mad Max movie.
[00:00:40]  That future is not one that I'm going to support, so I'm going to do everything I can to push back against it because my job is to get the job done.

[00:00:48]  Too many people are in the way for the wrong reason.
[00:00:50]  Not because they have some other idea and they firmly believe it.
[00:00:53]  No.
[00:00:53]  What keeps them in office, what gets them re-elected.
[00:00:55]  That's their entire calculus.
