Judge Drops Bombshell Ruling on Transgender Case

Two days ago, there was a massive victory for parents across the entirety of the country.
That's because a major lawsuit that was brought forth by a mother against her school district, which secretly transitioned her daughter to another gender, well, it was settled for a cool $100,000, which is not only a major victory for this mother and daughter, but also this settlement presents parents across the whole nation but also this settlement presents parents across the whole nation with both a precedent as well as a roadmap on how to deal with school districts that secretly transition their kids.
However, before we dive into the actual lawsuit as well as the cash settlement, let me back up for a super quick moment and set the stage for you properly regarding the details of this particular case.

Now, to start with, back in October of 2021, there was a large-scale teachers' union conference held in the city of Palm Springs, California.
Specifically, this sold-out event was organized by the California Teachers Association, and it was called the 2021 LGBTQ Plus Issues Conference, Beyond the Binary, Identity and Imagining Possibilities.
And on the docket for this particular event, here were some of the panels.
And then there was one panel, held at 9 a.m.
on Saturday morning, called Queering the Middle.
And here was how this particular panel was described.
"This workshop focuses on how to facilitate a successful gay-straight alliance at the middle school level through building community, LGBTQ+ education, and social activism." And during this presentation, as well as many of the others, the teachers were, for one, mocking parents over their concerns of homosexual and transgender indoctrination in the school system
And secondly, these teachers were showing the other teachers in attendance how to undermine the authority of parents as well as the school administrators and conceal the activities that they were actually involved in.
And the reason that we know that this was what was actually discussed at this event It's because we here at the Epoch Times were able to obtain leaked audio from within this conference.
And here's what it said.
The two teachers from Buena Vista Middle School led a workshop called How We Run a Gay-Straight Alliance in Conservative Communities, and they described the obstacles they face as activist teachers in concealing the activities of these clubs from parents.
In the audio clip, one teacher advised other teachers who lead LGBT clubs to maintain an air of plausible deniability so that they can play dumb if they are questioned by parents.
Quote, Because we are not official, we have no club rosters.
We keep no records, said the teacher on the audio tape, who is also an LGBT club leader.
They continued, quote, I don't know.
Maybe they came.
You know, we would never want a kid to get in trouble for attending if their parents are upset.
Then in the audio, the other teacher backed up the first teacher, suggesting that activist teachers disguise the nature of the Gay-Straight Alliance clubs by calling them something less obvious.
She provided an example of this deception, pointing out that she avoided naming her LGBT club a Gay-Straight Alliance.
Instead, she called it the Equity Club and later changed the name to the UBU Club.
Now, I can't play the clip for you because of California's one-party consent laws, but essentially, that was what the audio clip revealed.
These teachers were openly bragging about hiding the truth from parents and secretly recruiting students into their LGBTQ clubs.
Now, when this audio was first leaked to the public, the parents within the school district were suddenly awakened to the realities of what was happening with their kids.
And among the parents was this mother right here, Miss Jessica Conan.
And at the time, Jessica had a 12-year-old daughter in the Buena Vista Middle School, a young girl by the name of Alicia.
And what allegedly happened was that indeed, just as was discussed in that audio tape, the school district had disguised the name of its gay-straight alliance club, calling it an equality club, and one of the teachers had coaxed Alicia into joining this equality club, at which point that teacher began indoctrinating her and affirming Alicia as being transgender.
This was, again, being done with a girl currently in 6th grade, and it was being done completely without the knowledge of her mother.
In fact, the first time that her mother became aware that anything like this was happening was when, at the tail end of the year, she was called in for a meeting with the principal.
Here's how that went down.
Quote, Near the end of sixth grade, Jessica's daughter told her she might be bisexual.
And by the middle of the seventh grade, Jessica was called to the school for a meeting with her daughter, a teacher, and the school principal.
The teacher told Jessica her daughter was trans-fluid.
And then the mother told us this, quote, I was very confused.
I was very upset.
I was blindsided.
Completely blindsided.
The teacher accused Jessica of not being quote-unquote emotionally supportive of her daughter, who was to be called by a new name and male pronouns and would be using the unisex restroom at school.
The mother then told us here at the Epoch Times that, quote, I felt she completely coached my child.
She added that she was hurt that her daughter had not come to her first and that the teacher acted in a mean-spirited, smirking way towards her.
And indeed, soon after that meeting, Alicia began to use a male name, male pronouns, she began to use the unisex bathroom at school, and she also began to wear a chest binder underneath boys' clothing.
But the situation went from bad to even worse.
That's because shortly after this meeting, the police showed up on Jessica's front door.
Quote, But she complied and took her children to meet with Child Protective Services that week.
According to Jessica, Child Protective Services dropped the case and did not demand that she call her daughter by masculine pronouns as her teacher had insisted.
Throughout the school year, Jessica was afraid to ask questions about her daughter or her school activities, fearing that Child Protective Services could take her children away.
And this, by the way, is a situation that many, many, many parents all across the state of California are currently finding themselves in.
Now fortunately, eventually, Jessica was able to transfer her daughter to another school, after which things actually went back to normal for them.
And in fact, Alicia, who is now 16 years old, she describes the whole experience as being both evil as well as horrible.
We here at the Epoch Times, we actually had an opportunity to speak with Alicia, hear her side of the story about how this all went down, and here's what she said.
Quote, Alicia was then pulled away from her schoolwork.
And the counselor who she said was working with the school to socially transition kids put her on a gender support plan, known as a GSP, which required school staff to use a male name and pronouns when referring to her, and to allow her to use the unisex teacher's restroom instead of the girls' facilities.
Alicia then told us here at the Epoch Times, "I was advised by the school not to tell my mom, and I was given articles on how to hide a social transition from my mom.
I was extremely confused and honestly very scared.
I wanted to tell my mom and continually said I wanted to tell her, but I was encouraged to keep it a secret.
The school said that my mother wouldn't support me." Furthermore, the school knew at that particular time that Alicia was searching online for information about suicide.
But they never told her mother about it.
Now thankfully, Alicia eventually left that middle school behind, and since doing so, she told us here at the Epoch Times that she's actually able to focus on her academics, and she added this, quote, I am 1000% a girl.
I am Alicia.
That is who I am, and no one can ever change that.
I feel free, finally.
I feel like I'm not under control by anybody.
I can finally move forward with my life and be happy.

However, there's a lot more to this happy ending because as I alluded to in the top of the episode, last year, Jessica, who is Alicia's mother, she filed a lawsuit against the Spreckels Union School District.
The school principal, as well as two separate teachers in that particular school.
That lawsuit was filed back in June of last year, in June of 2022.
And after over a year of legal back and forth, the school district just settled with Jessica for a cool $100,000.
And after the settlement came down, we here at the Epoch Times actually had an opportunity to speak with Jessica, and she not only told us that this is a good development for her and her daughter, but also, it's a good development for all parents across California and the entire nation who find themselves in a similar situation.
Quote, It's a massive victory across America for myself, for my daughter, and for other parents experiencing similar situations.
Our voices made a difference.
She further said that the fight for parental rights in this country has only just begun, adding this, Likewise, we had an opportunity to speak with the lawyer who handled the case on behalf of Jessica, and he told us, That despite the fact that within this particular settlement, the school district did not admit any fault or any liability, this ruling is still a major deal, since it is quite literally the first of its kind in the nation.
The $100,000 settlement will serve as a deterrent for other school districts that continue to propagate these policies and keep parents in the dark.
As far as we are aware, this is the first time a school district has had to pay a family money for secretly transitioning their kid behind their backs.
However, there is something else that's really worth mentioning here, which is the fact that this settlement is part of a much larger legal battle that's currently playing itself out in both California as well as in all of America.
Because on the one hand, you have situations like this, wherein a parent successfully sues their school district for secretly transitioning their kids.
But on the other hand, you have the state of California attempting to punish school districts that don't allow kids to transition in secret.
For instance, just last week, the California Attorney General quite literally sued a certain school district because that school district had a policy of notifying parents if their child chooses a different gender identity at school.
And so right now, schools over in California find themselves in this really weird place.
If they allow kids to secretly transition, they can be sued by the parents.
If they don't allow kids to transition in secret, they can be sued by the state.
And as all this is happening, the only question that I have is who exactly is actually teaching these kids anything?
Because the percentage of kids over in California who are proficient in math is 23%.
In reading, it's about 31%.
And overall, it's only 29.9% of all California students who meet the standards at their grade level.
But instead of working to figure out what the root cause of this problem is, and making sure that our next generation is equipped to handle the problems of this world, the current public debate We're now discussing whether kids should be allowed to secretly transition in schools or not.
Meanwhile, unfortunately, many of these kids can't even spell the word transition.
Regardless though, with the settlement now in place, parents across California, and also across the entirety of the country, have a precedent that they can reference if they should ever find themselves in a similar situation to that of Jessica and her daughter.

This is all coming from the top, the major corporations, governments, politicians.
You have a pipeline.
It's also in the education system.
So today we're going to talk a bit about genders.
We are here to support you.
I've talked to hundreds, if not thousands of parents.
Our stories are all the same.
They told my parents if I wasn't allowed to transition, I would be at risk of suicide.
This was a group where they basically gathered vulnerable children and taught them that it was us against them.
Would you rather have a dead daughter?
Or a living son?
That question is asked over and over again and therapists are trained to say that.
It's destroyed my health.
Looking back, it made me feel even more hopeless.
And then I felt down, I felt tired, I felt exhausted.
Half of my body shakes on its own uncontrollably.
I'll never be the same.
I was allowed to destroy my body.
They never talk about how much harm is being caused.

It's separating kids from their parents.
The state has decided that Evan should stay at a group home for now.
For his safety.
We miss you so much, Harry. Harry.
Leave him alone.
This is the most important question.
