EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Fauci Fesses Up In Closed-Door Testimony, Can’t Name Any Study Showing Masks Work
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
This right here is Dr.
Anthony Fauci.
And just five short days ago, behind closed-door testimony, he was grilled by prosecutors who alleged that there was collusion between Biden administration officials and big tech companies to censor American free speech.
And during this deposition, Dr.
Fauci defended the policy of lockdowns.
He said that the inspiration for the lockdowns came from watching Communist China He said that he was not able to cite a single study that supposedly changed his mind into the benefits of masking.
And yet still, ironically, during the deposition, he forced one of the stenographers to wear a mask in his presence.
Now, this deposition was done behind closed doors and the transcript is not yet available.
However, we here at the Epoch Times were able to speak to one of the attorneys who was present in the room and she gave us a play-by-play of how it all went down.
However, before we dive in, let me back up for a quick moment and set the stage for this deposition properly so you can understand exactly how it fits into what's been happening in America for the past two years.
And I hope that if you appreciate content like this, you take a quick moment to smash that like button as well as that subscribe button so this video can be shit out to ever more people.
Now, several months ago, around summertime of 2022, the attorney generals of Louisiana and Missouri, they jointly filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration, accusing them of colluding with big tech companies to censor the free speech of Americans.
And after a lengthy discovery phase, well, these attorney generals, they uncovered a treasure trove of emails and other communications showing exactly how extensive as well as cozy the relationship was between these big tech executives and government officials.
Using this evidence as the basis, the attorney generals then went back to the judge and asked for permission to depose under oath several top officials within the administration.
And after a bit of legal back and forth, the judge in the case eventually agreed.
He gave the prosecutors full authority to depose, again under oath, 11 different high-level Biden administration officials, including the Surgeon General, Jen Psaki, who was the former White House Press Secretary, and As well as, of course, Dr.
Anthony Fauci, in his official capacities as both the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as well as the chief medical advisor for Joe Biden.
And Fauci's deposition was held just five days ago.
Specifically, Dr.
Fauci sat for a seven-hour-long deposition in the city of Bethesda, Maryland, which happens to be where the headquarters of the NIH is located, meaning that the prosecutors actually accommodated Dr.
Fauci by traveling to him, which is nice considering the fact that he is 81 years old.
Now again, the transcript for this seven-hour-long deposition has yet to be released.
However, we here at the Epoch Times, we were able to speak with Ms.
Jenin Yones, one of the lawyers who was present for the deposition, and she revealed to us two very interesting points which came out of this closed-door deposition.
The first point has to do with how Dr.
Fauci, when speaking about his role in advocating for the lockdowns, cited China as the model that they were using.
Specifically, here's what the lawyer told us.
"Fauci said that Dr. Clifford Lane, who is a deputy director at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, reported back to him after Lane went to China in early 2020 a few months after the first cases of COVID-19 were detected in Wuhan.
Lane reported that China appeared to be controlling the COVID-19 virus through harsh lockdowns, and Fauci soon decided that the United States needed to emulate China at least to an extent.
Dr.
Fauci was quoted during the deposition as saying this, quote, This is what we had to do.
There were freezer trucks in New York full of bodies.
Now, just as an aside, when Dr.
Fauci cites the freezer trucks full of dead bodies in New York, well, he failed to mention that while New York was indeed hit the hardest by the pandemic, one of the policies that they enacted was to force nursing homes to accept patients who tested positive for COVID. And as it so happens, tens of thousands of people died in New York Inside of nursing homes due to COVID. And so it's questionable at best how total lockdowns actually would have helped to alleviate that situation.
Regardless, though, that is what they pushed for.
Communist China-style lockdowns.
But it's a bit ironic because when public sentiment changed and people across America began to question the logic of the lockdowns, well, the messaging from Dr.
Fauci changed as well.
For instance, in an interview that he gave to The Hill just a few months ago, Dr.
Fauci claimed that he actually never advocated for lockdowns.
Take a listen.
I wonder if you would recommend locking down schools if you had to do it all over again.
Well, you know, again, first of all, I didn't recommend locking anything down.
You're asking me questions.
You're talking about the CDC is the public health agency that uses their epidemiologists and their science-based approach to make recommendations.
And so you see, to the general public, Dr.
Fauci claims that he never advocated for lockdowns.
But in the deposition, under oath, under penalty of perjury, he said that he did advocate for lockdowns and that those lockdowns were actually inspired by Communist China.
It's amazing how different those two statements actually are.
So which one of them is actually true?
Well, if we look back through the record, it appears that what Dr.
Fauci said under oath is in fact the real deal.
As just one example of why that is, well, back in October of 2020, when speaking with students at the College of the Holy Cross, here's what Dr.
Fauci said, quote, With a few cases of community spread, this was way before there was a major explosion like we saw in the northeastern corridor driven by New York City metropolitan area, I recommended to the president that we shut the country down.
Unfortunately, since we actually did not shut down completely the way China did, the way Korea did, the way Taiwan did, we actually did see spread even though we shut down.
Likewise, in March of 2020, here's what Dr.
Fauci said, standing right there in front of the White House.
The one thing I do advise, and I said this in multiple hearings and multiple briefings, that right now we have to start implementing both containment and mitigation.
And what was done when you closed the schools is mitigation.
Also, along that same line, in Dr.
Deborah Birx's new book, she detailed how both herself and Dr.
Fauci, they worked together to convince President Trump to implement the infamous 15 days to slow the spread policy.
In that book, well, she added this, quote, No sooner had we convinced the Trump administration to implement our version of a two-week shutdown than I was trying to figure out how to extend it.
And quite frankly, there are plenty of different clips, quotes, and news pieces just like this showing Dr.
Fauci clearly advocating for China-style lockdowns, which he again admitted under oath.
Although it is worth mentioning that it was a much different story in terms of his public statements when the political winds seemed to change.
First of all, I didn't recommend locking anything down.
Regardless, maybe setting that aside for a moment, the second interesting point that came out of this closed-door deposition is what Dr.
Fauci said regarding masks.
Alright, the sponsor of today's episode is a phenomenal company called AMAC. That's A-M-A-C, and it stands for the Association of Mature American Citizens.

I'll also throw a link down in the description box below.
Specifically, when he was asked about which studies, which specific studies, made him change his mind about the efficacy and the effectiveness of masking, well, he said that he couldn't think of any.
Here is specifically what the lawyer who was in the room told us here at the Epoch Times.
He was asked what studies or study changed his mind in that interim, which is what he claimed.
He claimed that it was studied.
He couldn't name any.
Likewise, the Attorney General of Missouri, he published a statement soon after the deposition, saying this in part, quote, Another tidbit from the Fauci deposition.
In February of 2020, he emailed a friend advising her that masks were ineffective, confirmed again on March 31st.
However, on April 3rd, he's adamant that masks should be worn, even though he couldn't cite a single study to prove it.
Mandates followed.
Lives ruined.
COVID tyranny is born.
Now, this whole part requires a bit of backstory.
According to emails that came out of a Freedom of Information Act request from the federal government, back in the early part of 2020, Dr.
Fauci was clearly telling people to not mask up and that masks do not work against COVID. For instance, here was an email that Dr.
Fauci sent on April 5th of 2020 to Ms.
Sylvia Burwell, who is the president of American University.
She was traveling at the time, and here's the advice that Dr.
Fauci gave her in regards to masks.
Quote, Sylvia, masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected, rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection.
The typical mask that you buy in the drugstore is not really effective in keeping out the virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.
It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keeping out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you.
I do not recommend that you wear a mask, particularly since you are going to a very low-risk location.
Your instincts are correct.
Money is best spent on medical countermeasures such as diagnostics and vaccines.
Likewise, here's another email, also from the month of February in the year 2020, that Dr.
Fauci sent to a reporter from Greece, saying that, quote, The vast majority of people outside of China do not need to wear a mask.
A mask is more appropriate for someone who is infected than for people trying to protect against infection.
Furthermore, around that very same time period, you might remember that Dr.
Fauci very famously stated that the general public should quote, which was consistent with the emails that he was sending in private.
The private messages and the public messaging aligned.
However, on April 3rd of 2020, Dr.
Fauci, as well as several other government officials, they reversed their earlier guidance and they recommended that everyone, meaning the entire American general public, should all be wearing masks whenever they leave their homes.
Back then, they said that this change was because of new research which indicated that a significant portion of COVID patients did not have symptoms but could still be spreading the virus.
And apparently, the research showed that a mask could mitigate this fact.
And so, you have this fascinating situation, where on the one hand, Dr.
Fauci, both publicly and privately, is advising Americans to not wear masks.
But then, on a dime, he reversed course and told everyone across the entire country to be wearing masks.
Which then led to a plethora of mask mandates, but also to a giant push by social media companies to censor anyone who dared to question this change in science.
But when Dr.
Fauci was actually asked under oath about what specific studies he saw that changed his mind, well, he was not able to name any.
Which is kind of the beauty of the deposition, because on a news program or at a press conference, well, people can generally say whatever they want.
But in a deposition, they have to stick with the facts and tell the truth, because they're under oath and under penalty of perjury.
And the truth is that Dr.
Fauci, when asked about it, could not name a single study.
It's also worth mentioning that besides depositions, companies have to be truthful in their advertisements, because generally America actually has very strict advertising laws.
And so isn't it funny that the iconic blue COVID masks, they come in boxes that clearly state on the outside that this mask does not prevent or protect against COVID-19.
Legally, they have to put that in the box because it's the truth.
And yet, if you only listen to public statements, well, he would get a much different impression.
Also, just as a fun aside, the lawyer who was in the room, she told us that when the deposition started, neither Dr.
Fauci nor anyone else in the room was wearing a mask.
However, the woman who was transcribing the deposition, meaning the court reporter, she was sniffling, and Dr.
Fauci turned to her and he asked her if she had a cold.
The woman said no and that she instead had some allergies.
But here's what the lawyer told us happened right afterwards.
Quote, Perhaps Dr.
Fauci did not see the label on the box that that mask came in, which clearly says that it doesn't really do much against COVID. However, regardless of how this deposition and the entire collusion lawsuit plays itself out, well, it seems like, at least on Twitter, medical misinformation is no longer going to be policed.
That's because, less than a week ago, Twitter, which is of course now owned by Elon Musk, published this statement, quote, Effective November 23rd of 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 misleading information policy.
Meaning, essentially, starting on November 23rd, when government officials suddenly change their mind about whether something is effective or not, and give no real studies to back up their claims, well, that will no longer be a sufficient enough reason to block you, at least on Twitter.
If you'd like to read more about this particular story, if you'd like to go deeper into this lawsuit for yourself, or read the detailed account of this closed-door deposition, I'll throw all the links to my research notes down into the description box below.
And also, in that description box is a limited time offer from a company called Webull.
They're a platform that you can use to invest in the stock market and if you click on that link in the description box and you open a free account with them and you fund it with any amount of money, even a single dollar, they will give you six free stocks.
Over the weekend, I tried it with somebody else's phone And after signing up, they got six free stocks worth a total of $58, which they could trade it right in for cash, they can withdraw it, or they can continue to invest.
So it's pretty cool.
It's like free money.
If you'd like to take advantage of that offer, the link will be right there in the description box below.
And lastly, over on Epic TV, I just published a deep analysis of these giant blood clots that morticians have been recently finding in bodies across the entire country.
It is, in my opinion, a pretty good and solid report, but no matter how good and solid it is, well, I cannot publish it here on YouTube.
If you'd like to check it out, the link to that episode that's on EpicTV will be right there at the top of the description box.
I hope you check it out.
And then, until next time, I'm your host, Roman from the Epic Times.
