Soros-Funded Takeover of Hispanic 'Anti-Communist Media' BACKFIRES
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
This right here is the number of days before the midterm election, meaning that the fate of who controls the local, state, and federal legislatures throughout the whole country will be decided within the next 78 days.
And given this reality, some people are getting, you can say, creative about the way that they are looking to affect change in the election's outcome.
Case in point, you have Mr.
George Soros, the left-wing billionaire who just a few short weeks ago spent roughly $80 million in order to help buy out a slew of Spanish-language media companies here in America, including one of the only conservative-speaking radio stations that you have here in the States.
However, his plan might have actually backfired.
That's because after this purchase, many of the star talents within these different Spanish-language media companies, well, they jumped ship because they did not want to work for a George Soros-funded entity.
And wouldn't you know it, while I was down in Texas, I ran into Mr.
Ivan Garcia Hidalgo, the president of Americano Media, which is the first nationwide conservative network within the Spanish language here in America.
And he explained to me the story behind this George Soros takeover, how it led many news anchors to jump ship and come over to his media, as well as more generally.
He explained to me the story of how, after the Cold War ended, Communists in Latin America set up something called the Sao Paulo Forum in order to spread Marxism to every nation.
Take a listen.
Actually, Salem Media was working to buy about 18 properties from Universal Radio.
One of them, you know, was Radio Mountain View in Miami.
We launched, back in March, the first ever nationwide conservative network in Spanish launched on Sirius XM. Surprisingly enough, this group gets swamped out of nothing, and they get funded by Soros, and they take that dealer from Salem, and they go out and buy all these properties in Radio Mountain View.
So as this deal is progressing, as Salem is considering this purchase, another group forms, using Soros' money, comes in and outbids Salem?
I mean, look, I think Salem's offer was about $40 million.
Soros trunched $80 million to this group of nobodies, and they paid $60 million for it.
Really, the key intention was to kill Radio Bombay.
Which is the conservative station for the Cuban exile in Miami.
And that's what it was about.
It was about silencing and canceling conservative in Spanish.
So you're saying even this conservative Cuban, anti-communist, I imagine, radio station, even they sold out to this George Soros group?
Well, it was owned by Univision.
I see.
So Univision, Telemundo, Siena Espanol, there were three main networks in Spanish.
They're all left-wing.
They're all Democrats.
They're all parents and Democrats.
You know, Radio Monty was this sole voice, it was conservative, and you know, you just kind of let it operate.
You know, because it was an icon in Miami and the community, they didn't want to touch it, but the money was so appealing that they said, hey, you know, money talks.
Well, you know, recently, Televisa bought control of Univision, a Mexican group, and they don't care about the dynamics and politics.
Their politics are really clear, right?
They really left, like most of the media, and that sort of agenda has canceled the service, right?
Wow.
So after these purchases actually went through, was there any significant change in, let's say, the coverage?
Or everybody's worried that it might just gradually start to creep in?
Well, they were off with a bonus.
All the anchors were off with a bonus.
I think it's reported that it was like $120,000 to stay there until the handover was some week because you've got to pass for us to see approval.
They said, stay on board until this happens, and obviously that came with some angles, right?
Not the Democrats, et cetera, et cetera.
That's what's reported in the media.
I mean, I'm not privy to those details, but it's out there if you look for it.
So, you know, the idea was to cancel it, but, you know, shut down conservatives and make sure they did that right before the mid-term play.
Interesting.
And so a lot of those anchors were offered those deals.
Did a lot of them take it?
I can tell you that three of them didn't take it.
I don't know about the rest.
I know they had a hard deadline.
I think it was July 31st or something.
So I have no idea of the rest of what we're talking about.
We took six hours of the program, and those anchors didn't take that, but they came over to Americana.
So they came over to you?
Yeah.
Oh, interesting.
All right, just to pause here for a super quick moment, I wanted to mention that the sponsor for today's episode is a super cool company called Secure.
And they're a cool company for people that actually care about their privacy.
Because listen, if you don't think that these giant tech inglomerates and all these different alphabet agencies within the US government are spying on your messages, well, then frankly, you are not paying enough attention to the news.
However, all that can be in the past because with Secure, they have awesome proprietary technology that has all your messages and all your emails actually go through Switzerland as they're making their way back and forth between you and your recipient.
And so let's say you're here in America and the person you're messaging is over in Canada, Mexico, or anywhere else in the world.
Well, it doesn't matter because all your messages are actually going through Switzerland Back and forth from one to another, meaning that they are not subject to the Cloud Act and they are only subject to Swiss laws, which are some of the safest in the entire world.
Their technology is awesome.
It's proprietary and they're a company that actually cares about your freedom.
They care about getting the facts out, which is why they sponsor a company like ours.
And best of all, they are offering a 25% off deal for our viewers, for the viewers of Facts Matter.
So head on over to secure.com and use promo code Roman to get 25% off.
And the rates are not even that expensive to start with.
It's only $5 for the messenger and $10 for the email and messenger combo.
And they even offer a seven-day free trial.
So again, head on over to secure.com, use promo code Roman, save some money, and support an awesome sponsor.
Let me ask you this.
This is something I've always wondered about, and maybe you can shed some light.
Within this Spanish-speaking media, which, you know, outside of Spain, typically Latin America, Mexico, and on down, it seems like, like you said, they typically lean left, lean here in America towards the Democrats and towards the general, you know, whatever left parties in that country.
But here in America, when we discuss, let's say, some of the problems associated with communism and socialism, the examples are like Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela.
So how is it that there's no even language barrier between understanding what's happening in Nicaragua and, let's say, what's happening in Colombia or what's happening in Mexico?
So you can fully understand what's happening in that country.
You can read that country's news.
And yet, all the news media and it seems like all the people, based on their voting habits, are left-leaning.
Why is that?
Well, it's not really accurate, so you've got to go back to really understand what's happening, right?
So when the Berlin Wall collapses, it's brought down, Soviet Union collapses, the fund money, the slush money that went to a lot of these left-wing countries went away.
Something called the South Power Reform, the Florida South Power Reform, you know, with all these left-wing countries, groups, unions, And the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
So who's the enemy of law and order and good governments?
It's in the partels.
So the partels have a lot of money.
And they became allies of these movements, and they funded it.
So they have an unlimited amount of money, and they fund all these things, and they push all this stuff.
In fact, it's also business people.
They don't care about ideology.
They don't sell drugs.
But if it's in a destabilized country, allow them to do that, why the hell not?
And that's what's really been happening.
And you see all over Latin America, right now, every single country's property.
You know, Colombia just left.
Peru just elected a Marxist Maoist on the plane.
In Chile, same thing.
Argentina's left.
We've only been standing right now.
In Ecuador, they almost ousted the last one.
Panama's on the brink of flaps.
Exactly.
In Brazil, of course, Renato's down double digits to Luna, who's in prison.
So it's a disaster.
And they've been pushing this left-leaning agenda to save, to divide.
Same crap we see here, right?
Same type of politics, the exact same thing, same strategy.
That's why when I tell people, you can't look at the problem as local.
This is a global, well-organized, well-funded operation.
That is working against all of us.
And down there, we have a lot of these structures that are poor.
So when you have somebody...
And the problem is, you know, a couple years ago I was talking to a lot of these leaders in Latin America, and I said, look, when you do slum speeches and you're talking to people, you can't give a dissertation like you're at Harvard or Yale.
You have to dumb it down.
And here in the U.S., we're talking at the 6th grade level, right, in speeches, right?
Imagine down there, you've got to roll it down to, you know, 30 degrees.
And you see in Peru, this guy who was supposedly a teacher, but the guy can't even read or write.
He was an activist, funded by strange money, act like you love, a lot of loudest stuff, right?
Moses Sumspeecher.
No more poor people in a rich country.
Word of a teacher.
It's that simple.
It's that simple.
Anybody read, you can be illiterate, and you can understand what that means.
It grew.
You've got to understand what it means.
And when he went out to these shanty towns, he said, all those people over there in those houses, we're going to get them out, we're going to throw them out, and you're going to go live there, and they're going to come and live here, see how they feel.
So, you know, create that divide.
And people would have nothing to lose.
They'd say, wow, that sounds pretty good if I can go live over there, right?
So, it's this really basic hate, divide, and tension.
That they take advantage of people who really have very little education, very little information.
And the right down in Latin America isn't really well organized.
People say that they're right, but they're really Democrats.
They really don't have very defined ideology.
That's why they fail a lot over and over again.
So there needs to be a lot more attention paid to our backyard.
I think President Trump is starting to do that by pulling us out of the Middle East.
And personally, you know, 2020 happened, and, you know, we didn't get a chance to pull it inside of Denver.
But, you know, that's really what's happening.
And here, you know, we really haven't had an opportunity to speak to the Hispanic community because we haven't had a medium to do that.
Not with Americana Media, we do.
Right?
Univision all parroted the Democratic authorities talking about things.
That's all they did.
Trump was a racist.
They were called against a racist.
They're all white guys.
You know, they don't want to visit Spanish.
They hate immigrants.
You know, that was the stuff that they talked about all the time.
If you're going on one of their shows and stack the table, they say, okay, we're going to have the host.
We're going to have a Democrat.
You're the Republican, Greg, so that's fair, one-to-one.
We're going to bring the academic.
We're going to bring the guy from the NGO. They're all Democrats.
They snack with Dave when everyone's attacking you, trying to get you off.
You can't really articulate any ideas, and that's the opposite of course.
Right?
So now, we've created Americana in order to counterbalance.
I'd say, you know what?
Everybody's welcome here.
Everybody respects each other.
Everybody's saying this respect the politics.
And more importantly, we're going to give a voice to Hispanic conservatives in the right and sure that Hispanics understand The sharp contrast between bail, Marx's policies that have failed over 100 times in 100 years, and capitalism.
Great, great policies that, you know, frankly, the last administration implemented it.
You know, the last administration, President Trump was probably the best president for his Spanish in the history of the century.
You know, we had the best economy in 50 years, lowest unemployment for his Spanish salary reported, you know, first-time wage growth in over 10 years, benefit of his Spanish in the history.
And then we go to buy it.
You know, gas prices.
You can't go to the grocery store and buy the same thing we bought like a year ago.
Less a year and a half ago.
You know, everything that is being destroyed right now, you know, the pandemic and shutdowns and stuff like that, of course.
You know, it hurt Hispanics and the service industry.
They got set down, they got fired.
They're not coming back.
You know, a lot of those out there aren't coming back.
Hispanics are, that's where you see a big shift.
See, there's a big shift that started under Trump, you know, and if you continue, you know, if you go back in this term, go back to 2000, 2004, W, right?
43, got 44% of the spending vote.
2008, McCain got 31.
2012, Romney got a dismal 27%.
2016, President Trump got 30%.
No matter how hard they hit him, over 90% of the news pieces were negative hit pieces.
He still did better than Romney.
And then in 2020, he got 38%.
And then you look at a year later, 2021, November, you look at Virginia.
You know, there's a 22 or 23 point swing from Hispanic voting for Biden to Hispanic voting for Youngkin.
And we put Governor Youngkin in the governor's office.
We threw out like Aaron McCullough.
Throw out Hillary Clinton and that whole Clinton machinery out of the state.
And that's what the Spanish are going to do this time around in November.
They understand now where they can get their news.
They understand where they can hear the facts, not fake news.
That's our slogan, this is real versus fake news.
So they're coming in droves, and they're committed to saving America, because this is, like Ronald Reagan said, the last week in a row.
If America falls, there's nowhere to go, right?
And so many of us have lost our countries or have come here, you know, seeking economic relief for whatever reasons, fleeing, you know, native countries, either ourselves or parents or grandparents, right?
And we understand that this is the greatest nation in the history of the world that we have to fight for.
We have to fight for it.
And that's what we want.
Wow, that's great.
There was something I wanted to circle back on that you talked about.
