Fauci: Americans Should Require Christmas Guests to Prove Vaccination Status | Facts Matter

Good evening.
Just yesterday, the New York City Council passed a new law which officially allows non-citizens to vote in the city's elections.
Meaning that the 800,000 non-citizens who are currently living in the city of New York, they will now be able to vote for the mayor, for the attorney general, for the comptroller, for the borough presidents, as well as for city council members.
Meanwhile, with Christmas right around the corner, I'm sure that many of you are waiting for the government to give you new guidelines about how you can interact with your family.
Well...
Wait no more.
Five days ago, the Surgeon General, he came out and said that even people who have gotten three shots of the vaccine, they should still be wearing a mask while indoors when they're with their families at Christmas.
And then furthermore, Dr.
Fauci came out and he suggested that Americans should require all of their holiday guests to prove that they are vaccinated as a prerequisite to entering their homes.
Let's go through it all together.
This is your daily Facts Matter update, and I'm your host, Roman, from the Epoch Times.
And now let's begin today's discussion over in New York City.
And to start with, do you remember how a few years back, when people were saying that if we as a nation continue down the trajectory that we're going, then eventually non-citizens will be allowed to vote in American elections?
Now, naturally enough, the people who said that, they were branded as being conspiracy theorists.
However, it appears that what they said is exactly what's coming to fruition.
That's because just yesterday, New York City passed a new law which officially allows non-citizens to vote in local elections.
Let me just repeat that.
New York City, which is America's most populous city by a wide margin and arguably the most important city in all of America, they just passed a new law which allows non-citizens to vote in local elections.
Now, to be specific, what happened was that yesterday, the New York City Council, which, for your reference, is almost completely controlled by Democrats.
In fact, out of the 51 council seats, only four of them are Republicans.
And yesterday, the city council voted, and they passed a new bill called the Our City, Our Vote Law.
And under this new piece of legislation, non-citizens who have lived in New York City for at least 30 days, they will now be allowed to vote in city elections, in the city municipal elections, including the elections for mayor, the elections for public advocate, for the different borough presidents, as well as for city council members.
And the only caveat to this law is that non-citizens, besides having lived in the city for at least 30 days, they must have some form of legal permanent resident status here in America.
This is something like a green card, or perhaps a work permit, or they might be a DACA recipient.
Now, Mr.
Yadonis Rodriguez, who is a New York City council member, he's an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, and he is the primary sponsor of this new legislation, and he said that the main issue here is the concept of no taxation without representation.
Here's in fact what he told CNN. But the Constitution of New York State and the New York City Charter is a live document that provides the opportunity for us to always look to make it better.
I think that today we were able to make that important change that recognizes the contributions of immigrants.
Now, according to statistics that were released by Mr.
Rodriguez's office, there are currently about 800,000 non-citizens in New York City who now qualify to vote, which is quite frankly a staggering number.
Why?
Why?
Well, let's take a look at last month's mayoral election right here in New York City.
It took place in November the 2nd.
In total, there were 4.9 million registered voters.
However, only a quarter of them, or about 1.4 million, actually showed up to vote.
And so think about that for a moment.
To increase the number of eligible voters by 800,000 would mean that non-citizens would represent approximately one-fifth of the total electorate here in New York City.
And in terms of where these people are actually from...
Well, according to the most recent report on the immigrant population here in New York City that we were able to find, it was actually released by the mayor's office back in the year 2019, it shows that the top five countries for birth for New York City's immigrants are as follows.
The Dominican Republic, China, Mexico, And now, these non-citizens will be allowed to vote in determining the future of America's largest city.
However, this new law drew quite a bit of opposition, and you should know that the opposition did not come exclusively from the Republican Party.
In fact, Bill de Blasio, who is the mayor of New York City, he's a Democrat, he was opposed to this new law, and he said that he had reservations about this law since it could potentially discourage people from becoming citizens.
Here's what he said.
I understand if folks say, hey, I'm somewhere on the pathway to citizenship.
I'd like to be more involved.
I respect that.
I do understand that impulse.
But I also have feelings about the value of citizenship and wanting to encourage people to become citizens fully.
And there's a lot of people who do not pursue full citizenship, even though they can.
And that, to me, is an issue.
Furthermore, Ms.
Lori Cumbo, who is the New York City Council Majority Leader, she's also a Democrat, and she raised concerns about the impact that this new law would have on New York City's black voters.
Here's what she said.
Where do African American voters fit in?
This particular legislation is going to shift the power dynamics in New York City in a major way, and we do not have the numbers or the information to know how that is going to impact African American communities who have been the most vulnerable in their existence in New York.
And then, going a step further, Ms.
Combo made another, you can say, interesting statement about why she opposes this law.
And that statement is, in my opinion at least, quite revealing.
She said that this new bill would be a win for the Dominican Republicans, and she voiced her concern that Latino voters could vote Republican once they were given the right to vote.
And that statement is...
Quite revealing.
And it's exactly that sentiment, echoed by Ms.
Combo, that has many people arguing that this new law is essentially just a naked power grab by the New York City Democratic Party.
For instance, Ms.
Ronna McDaniel, who is currently the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, she released this statement regarding the new law.
American citizens should decide American elections.
Full stop.
Allowing our elections to be decided by foreign citizens is unacceptable, and the RNC is looking closely at our legal options as we continue our fight to protect your ballot.
And indeed, it looks like lawsuits are coming down the pipe.
That's because right after this law was passed, the New York State Republican Party, they released a statement saying that they will take legal action.
Here's in fact what the chairman of the party said in the statement.
This is perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever, and that's really saying something.
This radical legislation is unconstitutional, un-American, and downright dangerous.
This not only will undermine the credibility of local city elections, but will undoubtedly interfere with the integrity of state and national elections across New York State.
Democrats do not get to create their own brand of citizenship to manipulate elections.
This is unconditionally unconstitutional, and we will use every legal method to make sure it's stopped.
Furthermore, Mr. G.
Joe Borelli, who is the top Republican on the New York City Council, meaning that he's the top Republican out of the four Republicans, he said that calling non-citizens disenfranchised here in America doesn't make much sense since they all have the right to vote in their home countries.
Here's what he said in his statement.
Calling this non-citizen voting is a misnomer, because the 800,000-plus green card and work visa holders that the radical left wants to allow to vote in New York City elections are already citizens of other countries, and almost all of them have the right to vote in their home countries.
If they want to vote here, they should go through the process of becoming citizens, because that is how you show a real commitment to being a part of this city and this country.
The stakes are too high.
The problems we face in this city are too big for us to give away the most quintessential right of American citizenship to someone who has only lived here for 30 days.
Now it is also worth noting that what we're seeing in New York City is actually part of a much larger debate that's raging across the country right now.
And that debate revolves around the question of who can exactly vote in America.
And so, while we're seeing states like Alabama, Colorado, and Florida pass legislation that limits voting exclusively to citizens, on the other hand, we have places like San Francisco, nine different cities in Maryland, two towns in Vermont, as well as now New York City, which are allowing non-citizens to cast ballots in municipal races.
And so, we'll just have to see how this ultimately plays out and what this ultimately leads the country to.
And just for reference, if this new law is able to withstand all of the legal challenges from the Republican Party, then it will officially go into effect starting in January of 2023.
meaning that in the next mayoral and city council races here in New York City we could see up to 800,000 non-citizens casting their votes.
If you'd like to read more about what's happening in New York City including the full text of this new law I'll throw all that into the description box below this video free to check out and all I ask in return is that whether you're a citizen or a non-citizen cast your vote with your finger by smashing that like button for the use of algorithm.
Now let's move on over and discuss how the federal government is suggesting that you and I spend our Christmas.
What's this?
Well, that's a great question, Roman.
And it is today's sponsor, which is an awesome messaging and email service provider called Secure.
And it's awesome if you're the type of person that actually cares about their privacy.
Because, I mean, it's no big secret that these big tech companies are mining and remining our data all the time.
In fact, in the year 2020, it was found that over 155 million Americans, likely including you and me, have suffered some form of data breach.
And by the way, that's only what's publicly known.
However, what's happened in the past?
Well, that can stay in the past because with Secure, Your data and your messages can remain private.
And that's because Secure has all of their data centers located over in Switzerland rather than in the US or in China.
And the reason that's so important is that Switzerland has some of the strictest data privacy laws in the entire world and they are not subject to the Intrusive Cloud Act.
And if you want to know what the cloud act is, head on over to secure.com and watch their video on the homepage or on the video tutorials page, which is under their support section.
Now, the thing that I personally love the most about the secure app is the privacy aspect of it.
They don't mind my data.
They don't mind my phone number.
They don't mind the phone numbers or data of my friends and family who I chat with.
But best of all is that if your friends and family don't actually use the secure app themselves, it doesn't matter.
Because the way that it works is that when you use their secure send email technology, all of your emails and your messages route to Switzerland, and then the recipient can reply using their secure reply technology.
And so everything remains private no matter what.
And the same actually goes for their messaging app as well.
And they're always coming up with new features.
In fact, the most recent one they told me about, they sent me an email here, was that they're coming up with a new feature called text to chat by invite.
So they're an innovative company and they really do care about your privacy.
And so what they're doing doesn't work with your existing big tech email account.
So check them out.
You can head on over to secure.com.
I'll throw the link into the description box below.
And when you use promo code Roman, you can get 25% off.
And the rates are not even that expensive to start with, by the way.
It's only $5 for the Messenger and $10 for the email and Messenger combo.
And they even offer a seven-day free trial.
So head on over to their website.
Again, it'll be linked in the description box below.
Use promo code Roman to save some money.
And now Roman in the studio, back to you.
With Christmas almost right around the corner, I'm sure that many of you are anxiously waiting for the federal government to tell you whether or not you can meet with your family.
and also whether you should be wearing a mask or not.
Well, the wait is over.
That's because just four days ago, Dr.
Vivek Murthy, who is the Biden administration's Surgeon General, he announced that even people who have gotten three shots of the vaccine, they should still be wearing a mask indoors while they're with their families at Christmas.
Here's specifically what he said during an interview on CBS News.
If people use the tools that we have, you can actually gather with much, much less risk.
If you use testing judiciously before you gather, you gather in well-ventilated spaces, Quite fulfilling indeed.
Now, besides the Surgeon General suggesting that we all wear masks, Dr.
Fauci, he has another suggestion for us ahead of the holiday season.
What suggestion?
Well, during an interview with the Washington Post, Dr.
Fauci suggested that Americans should require all of their holiday guests to prove that they are vaccinated.
Here's what he said.
People should, if they invite people over to their home, to essentially ask and maybe require that people show evidence that they are vaccinated.
That is the reality of the situation.
And the big question that I'm sure you're wondering is what exactly are we supposed to be checking for?
Because let's say your aunt knocks at the door You answer it, but of course, being a good citizen, before you let her in, you check her papers.
However, you find that your aunt has only so far gotten two shots of the Pfizer vaccine.
And so the big question, obviously, is do you let her in?
And the reason that is a big question is because it's no longer exactly clear whether your aunt qualifies as being fully vaccinated.
That's because, if you've been following this story, you know that Dr.
Fauci went from last month saying that the definition of being fully vaccinated could be changed, Just three days ago, saying that the definition of being fully vaccinated will be changed to include having gotten three shots.
Here's specifically what Dr.
Fauci said on this matter during an interview with CNN. Furthermore, during that same interview, Dr.
Fauci actually revealed the fact that the reason that the federal government has yet to make this change in definition actually has a lot to do with the fact that there are lawsuits across the country right now Here's what this article states.
And here's exactly what he said during that interview.
This is Dr.
Fauci.
And so basically, essentially what he's saying there is only after the cases leave the courtroom, once they're decided one way or the other, will the federal government change the definition of what it means to be fully vaccinated.
Now, to change gears a little bit, if you are the type of person who's interested in seeing the future or predicting the future, well, let's take a look at what is happening over in Israel, because it seems like what happens in Israel is a good barometer for what happens here in America, only with a delay of about several months.
You know, they had vaccine passports, they had the vaccine mandates, they had the mandates for the booster shots, and all those things trickle into America in one way or another, especially in Democrat-controlled cities as well as the federal government since the Democrats are in charge there.
And so just a few days ago, Dr.
Arnon Afek, who is the former director of Israel's Ministry of Health, and he's currently the director of Israel's largest hospital, Here's what he said, quote, That
is a very interesting statement and perhaps an ominous prediction for what will come down the pipe here in America.
If you'd like to read that statement, that article, or that article regarding Dr.
Fauci, that'll all be in the description box below.
And I have Roman in the studio.
Back to you.
If you'd like to read more about these new Christmas guidelines, I will throw those links into the description box below this video for you to check out.
And again, all I ask in return is that you take a quick moment to smash, smash, smash that like button for the YouTube algorithm.
And actually, since we're on the topic of canceling Christmas, I'd like to recommend that you go on over to Epic TV and check out an awesome episode of The Beau Show, where Beau sat down with a best-selling author of a book called An Anti-State Christmas, which explores how lockdowns, as well as all these mandates, are part of a larger effort to make Christmas more secular.
Here's a trailer for that episode.
They want to secularize, but if you notice, it's okay to, you know, wish somebody Happy Ramadan or Happy Hanukkah or Happy anything, but...
Merry Christmas, right?
Don't you dare say Merry Christmas.
Right.
And, you know, a lot of that is this other idea that, you know, hey-ho, let's go, Western Civ has got to go, whatever that chant from the 60s was.
Yeah.
You know, and it doesn't just go back to the 60s.
For the left, it's always the French Revolution, you know.
Tear down the statues, rename everything, all the streets, you know, year one or year zero, whatever.
You know, it's just the same drill over and over.
And by the way, it's always a disaster.
My special guest today will be Tom Mullen, author of the book An Anti-State Christmas.
Tom is a best-selling libertarian author and podcast host called the Tom Mullen Talks Freedom Podcast.
