Bill Gates Announced He's Building a Nuclear Power Plant in Wyoming | Facts Matter

Good evening.
There are quite a few interesting stories for us to go through.
First of all, five days ago this company here, which is actually owned by Bill Gates, they announced that they are building a nuclear power plant over in Wyoming.
Meanwhile, Facebook announced that their suspension of President Trump will last for two years, after which they will make a determination as to whether he's allowed back or not.
And by the way, that is not the only Facebook ban that is worth discussing.
Because just a few weeks ago, a pro-Israel Facebook group with 77 million followers, they were attacked by a barrage of anti-Semitic comments.
They were hit with 800,000 anti-Semitic hate messages in one single day.
However, instead of helping them, Facebook instead took down their page altogether.
And lastly, over in California, a federal judge just ruled that California's ban on so-called assault weapons, which, by the way, has been in effect for the last 32 years, is actually unconstitutional and it violates the Second Amendment.
Let's go through these stories together.
This is your daily Facts Matter update, and I'm your host, Roman, from the Epoch Times.
Now let's begin today's discussion by talking a little bit about Bill Gates' nuclear ambitions.
And actually, just before we do, as a quick aside, right there at the top of the description box is a link to Epic TV, our brand new no-censorship video platform where you can find all of the awesome Epoch Times content.
such as the Larry Elder Show, Crossroads or Joshua Phillip, American Thought Leaders, China in Focus, Life and Times, and our show, Facts Matter.
And on there, we'll post exclusive episodes that you cannot find here on YouTube, because frankly, I don't feel comfortable making or at least discussing certain topics here on YouTube due to their algorithms crawling the text of our speech and just sometimes blanket deleting videos.
So again, that link will be right there at the top of the description box.
Hope you click on it.
Hope you check it out.
And now let's really talk a little bit about Bill Gates.
So to start with, five days ago, the governor of Wyoming, he announced that a joint project between three companies, two of which are owned by Bill Gates and the other owned by Warren Buffett, will be building a nuclear power plant over in Wyoming.
Now, for your reference, by the way, the two companies that are owned by Bill Gates are TerraPower and Pacific Corp.
And then Berkshire Hathaway is Warren Buffett's company.
And according to this release here from TerraPower, which is again Bill Gates' company, this new power plant will be next generation, and it will produce enough power for roughly 250,000 homes, which, by the way, is almost half of the population in Wyoming.
And furthermore, this release also claims that this new plant will have the technology to store enough reserve power To boost their output in case of an emergency to 500 megawatts of power for a period of about five and a half hours, which would be the equivalent of the energy needed to power about 400,000 homes.
And so in theory, if there's an emergency, this one nuclear power plant can power about 80% of Wyoming's homes for close to six hours.
Now, during the news conference where he announced this new project, the governor of Wyoming, he said that this nuclear power plant would actually be replacing one of the coal power plants that are in Wyoming, although he didn't actually say which one.
And he also further clarified that this move towards nuclear power does not mean that Wyoming is abandoning the fossil fuel industry.
Here is specifically what he said.
Earlier this year, I set a goal for Wyoming to be a carbon negative state and continue to use fossil fuels.
I am not going to abandon any of our fossil fuel industry.
It is absolutely essential to our state and one of the things that we believe very strongly is our fastest and clearest course to being carbon negative.
Nuclear power is clearly a part of my all-of-the-above strategy for energy.
It's also worth noting that Wyoming is both a top coal mining as well as a top uranium mining state.
And according to officials out there, this new reactor will be using locally sourced uranium.
Now, Bill Gates joined this news conference where the plant was announced.
He joined it by video, and he made a short speech in which, among several other things, he said this.
Natrium, and Natrium is the name of this project, by the way, will be a game changer for the energy industry.
Wyoming has been a leader in energy for over a century, and we hope our investment in Natrium will help Wyoming to stay in the lead for many decades to come.
Furthermore, according to the current CEO of TerraPower, which is by the way not Bill Gates, it's actually a man named Chris Levisk, he said that this plant will be a multi-billion dollar project with the cost being evenly split between the government and the private sector, and he added that the unique design of Natrium will produce two-thirds less waste, by volume at least, than a conventional nuclear power plant.
Now thus far, that's all we know about this new project, about this new power plant out in Wyoming.
However, just as an aside, Bill Gates, who is of course a tech billionaire, is not only branching out into the nuclear industry.
It was also revealed a few months back that Bill Gates is currently America's largest owner of farmland as well.
How much does he own exactly?
Well, according to research that was published by The Land Report, Bill Gates currently owns 242,000 acres of farmland across 18 different states.
According to this report, his largest holdings are in Louisiana, with about 69,000 acres, Arkansas with about 47,000 acres, and Nebraska with about 20,000 acres.
And in Wyoming, where this nuclear power plant is being built, he owns close to 1,000 acres of farmland.
Now, it's unclear as of now how this land is exactly being used.
We here at the Epoch Times actually reached out to Cascade Investments, which is Bill Gates' personal investment company, but they have yet to get back to us with a comment.
Regardless, if you would like to read more about either this farmland business or about this nuclear power plant, all those links will be down there in the description box below this video for you to check out.
Which, by the way, is that same description box that is right below that like button, which I hope you take a quick moment to smash.
Because really, when you smash that like button, it forces the YouTube algorithm to share this video out to potentially thousands of more people, letting the truth be known far and wide.
In fact, I noticed that when people do not smash that like button, less new people are shown this video.
The people who are already subscribed tend to see the video fairly well, but new people who are not subscribed to the channel are not exposed to this type of content.
And so I hope that you smash that like button, force the algorithm to share this video out to potentially thousands of more people, and let the truth spread far and wide.
And now let's talk a bit about Facebook.
To start with, Facebook just announced on Friday that President Trump will be suspended from their platform for two full years.
According to a blog post that came from one of Facebook's VPs, he said this, We are suspending his accounts for two years, effective from the date of the initial suspension on January 7th of this year.
Now, this new decision to suspend President Trump for two years comes on the heels of another decision that was made last month by the Facebook Oversight Board, which is a quasi-independent organization that is supposed to oversee things like this, things like suspensions.
And last month, they upheld Facebook's decision to ban President Trump.
However, in that earlier decision, they also said that it was inappropriate for Facebook to not define a specific time period for which President Trump was suspended.
In fact, here is specifically what that board wrote last month.
It is not permissible for Facebook to keep a user off the platform for an undefined period, with no criteria for when or whether the account will be restored.
And so, as a response to that earlier criticism, Facebook just announced on Friday this two-year ban.
After which, by the way, the blog post says that Facebook will review, alongside some experts, whether President Trump still holds a risk to public safety.
And then, based on that expert analysis, if the risk is still present, then the suspension will be extended.
If it is not, Facebook said it will have a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions that will be triggered if Mr.
Trump commits further violations in future up to and including permanent removal of his pages and accounts.
Now, President Trump responded to this Facebook decision by saying simply that Now, besides banning President Trump, Facebook recently banned another group which caused besides banning President Trump, Facebook recently banned another group which caused a bit of blowback for The group in question was a pro-Israel Facebook group called the Jerusalem Prayer Team, and it had 77 million followers.
And interestingly, it was actually founded by an American Christian pastor who wanted to encourage more people around the world to pray for Israel.
However, at the same time that thousands of missiles were being launched from Gaza into Israel, this Facebook group, this pro-Israel Facebook group, was suddenly flooded with anti-Semitic comments.
A lot of them.
In fact, a spokesperson for this group, for the Jerusalem prayer team, they told us here at the Epoch Times that, on that single day, we received over 800,000 comments, the overwhelming majority of which were very negative, often crude, and anti-Semitic.
Clearly, this was not random.
Someone somewhere was orchestrating this barrage.
The spokesperson then said that this barrage of anti-Semitic comments continued on for two full days.
And in response, he said that his team appealed to Facebook for help.
However, Facebook did not give them any assistance.
Here's what he said.
We were amazed and disappointed that Facebook allowed such comments to be made.
We had understood they had a corporate commitment to prevent offensive or false information from being displayed, but in our case, there was no apparent intervention by Facebook.
And amazingly, even beyond not helping, Facebook actually, without any prior warning, took down the Jerusalem prayer team page altogether.
They took down this page that had 77 million followers, 77 million people who wanted to pray for Israel.
In fact, when it was taken down, this page was the 22nd most liked page in all of Facebook.
Here's how the spokesperson for this group described what happened.
On Saturday, May 15th, with no notice, no attempt to reach us, Facebook told us they had unpublished our Facebook page, citing this was due to the page being spam and violating their policies.
We did nothing differently on May 12th or any other day than we had done in the prior 1,000 days.
So to recap what exactly happened...
This pro-Israel group gets spammed with anti-Semitic hate messages.
They appeal for help.
But then instead of helping, Facebook shuts down their page altogether.
And then after this happened, the spokesperson for this group, he said that he appealed to Facebook in order for them to reverse their decision.
However, he was told that the decision was final.
Here's what the spokesperson said.
We are considering several options at this time.
We here at the Epoch Times, we reached out to Facebook in order to get comments on this matter, but we have yet to hear back thus far.
Now, in terms of who might have actually been behind this avalanche of anti-Semitic comments, well, the spokesperson for this group, he pointed us to an English translation of a story which appeared in Al Jazeera, which referred to this page through the Jerusalem prayer team as a Zionist entity, and in that same article, he gave credit to a hacker from Jordan for taking down the Facebook page.
Here's what that article in Al Jazeera said.
And just by the way, for your reference, Al Jazeera is a news organization that is funded by the Qatar government.
Here's what that article said.
It was reported in several news that the well-known hacker Ahmed Saleh, nicknamed the Sakar Bani Hashem Electronic, managed to close a Facebook page with 76 million likes to support the Zionist entity called the Jerusalem Prayer Team page.
But beyond how frustrating such a story may seem, what makes it even more frustrating, at least from my perspective, is that after Facebook shut down this page, one of the biggest pages on their platform, it generated almost no coverage from the legacy news outlets in this country.
Even though Congress right now is actively working to take actions against big tech giants like Facebook, Google, and Twitter, and so in theory it should have been a big notable story.
However, we here at the Epoch Times, we ran a search of the Washington Post, USA Today, and the New York Times, three of the biggest newspapers in this country, and they had no stories about this at all.
Which raises a very interesting question.
If the public is not aware of censorship, if they don't know that deplatforming is happening...
Then will things ever change?
Because naturally, the people who get deplatformed, well, they no longer have a platform to speak.
So how will people know about their plight?
Regardless, if you would like to read the story about the Jerusalem prayer team or about Facebook's two-year ban of President Trump, those links will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And by the way, both of those links are to articles from the Epoch Times because we cover such things.
And of course, you know that this type of censorship is not only happening on Facebook.
In fact, I keep an account over on Instagram Where I post daily about the research that we're doing, some things going on behind the scenes here at the Epoch Times.
And frankly, the censorship there is rampant.
However, we're still fighting back.
We're still posting on there for as long as we can.
And if you'd like to follow me over on Instagram, my handle is at Epoch Times Roman.
That's at Epoch Times Roman over on Instagram.
Follow me and let's see what happens.
And now let's talk a bit about what's happening over in California.
On Friday, a federal judge ruled that California's ban on so-called assault weapons violates the Second Amendment.
According to this judge, who, by the way, is named Roger Benetis, he was appointed by George W. Bush, and he published a long 94-page ruling, I just printed a few of them, that said, among several other things, that the government, through the law, bans an entire class of very popular hardware, firearms that are lawful under federal law and under the laws of most states, and firearms that are lawful under federal law and under the laws of most states, and that are commonly held by Under no level of heightened scrutiny can the law survive.
Now, this is pretty big news, and it's a fairly large win for people advocating for Second Amendment rights.
Now, in case you don't know, for the past 32 years, California state law has prohibited the manufacture, the use, or the sale of an assault weapon, defined within the legislation as a semi-automatic rifle with certain characteristics such as a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds.
And up until this point, up until this lawsuit, Californians who violated these laws faced a felony or a misdemeanor charge and could be sentenced for up to 8 years in prison.
And so what happened in this case was that two years ago, a man by the name of James Miller, who is a resident of California, he filed a lawsuit against the state attorney general alleging that their laws violated his Second Amendment rights.
Here's what part of his lawsuit said.
Plaintiff Miller seeks to use his lawfully acquired, large-capacity magazines in his California-compliant fixed magazine rifle.
However, Plaintiff Miller is prevented from lawfully doing so without risk of persecution resulting in injury to his life and liberty, and the unlawful confiscation and loss of his personal property because said use would reclassify his rifle as a prohibited assault weapon.
Now, California's attorney general at the time, a man by the name of Javier Becerra, who, by the way, has now become Joe Biden's health secretary, he argued that all federal circuit courts up until that point had upheld the constitutionality of assault weapon restrictions like the laws out in California.
However, Judge Benitez, the federal judge in this new case, he disagreed.
And he said in his new ruling that the Second Amendment guarantee includes a right to keep and bear firearms that have some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia.
Now, naturally, this new ruling, which states that California's gun restrictions are unconstitutional, had mixed reactions.
For instance, the Firearms Policy Coalition, which is a non-profit that advocates for constitutional rights, they said that this ruling was correct.
Here's what they said as a part of their statement.
In his order today, Judge Bennett has held what millions of Americans already know to be true.
Bans on so-called assault weapons are unconstitutional and cannot stand.
This historic victory for individual liberty is just the beginning.
And FPC, which is their group, will continue to aggressively challenge these laws throughout the United States.
We look forward to continuing this challenge at the Ninth Circuit, and should it be necessary, the Supreme Court.
Now, on the flip side, Governor Gavin Newsom, who, by the way, is currently facing a recall, he disagreed with this ruling and he said that it was actually a threat to public safety.
Here's what he said in a statement on Friday.
Overturning California's assault weapon ban and comparing an AR-15 to a Swiss Army knife is a disgusting slap in the face to those who have lost loved ones to gun violence.
This is a direct threat to public safety and innocent Californians.
We won't stand for it.
Furthermore, the new attorney general for California, a man by the name of Rob Bonta, he added this.
And by the way, in case you're wondering, the reason that both of these statements mention a Swiss army knife was because the initial lawsuit began this way.
Quote...
Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment.
Good for both home and battle.
And so, we'll just have to wait and see what happens when these California officials inevitably fight this decision at the appellate level.
The Attorney General now has 30 days to file an appeal, which, according to his statement, is likely what he is going to do.
Now, if you'd like to read more about this case, the link to the article, as well as to this lawsuit, will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And now lastly, as we already mentioned in several previous episodes, on the very same day that Joe Biden was sworn into office, coincidentally, YouTube made the unilateral decision to demonetize our program.
We can now no longer run any ads before, during, or after our episodes, and the Super Chat feature has just been disabled.
Weirdly enough, they are just demonetizing us and making it impossible for us to finance our show.
