Trump Reacts to Supreme Court Decision to Let Prosecutors Obtain His Taxes | Facts Matter

Good evening.
Two days ago, over at the Supreme Court, they ruled that New York State investigators can get access to President Trump's taxes, something that Trump is calling a continuation of a political witch hunt.
Now, on that very same day, the Supreme Court also rejected to hear a slew of election-related lawsuits, which, according to Clarence Thomas, leaves the constitutional and legal issues in limbo.
Meanwhile, Democrat House members have been sending official letters to TV carriers throughout the country urging them to drop conservative news outlets like Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax.
However, the director of the FCC is not having it.
And lastly, the mother of Brian Sicknick, who is the Capitol Police officer who died in Washington, D.C., says that he was not hit on the head and that he likely died from a stroke.
Let's go through these stories together.
This is your daily Facts Matter update, and I'm your host, Roman, from the Epoch Times.
Now let's start today's discussion by talking about the Supreme Court.
Over the last few days, there were two important decisions that were made by the court that I think we should discuss.
The first one is in regards to President Trump's taxes.
Two days ago, the Supreme Court ruled that it will not stop a New York prosecutor from obtaining President Trump's tax returns as well as other financial records as part of their criminal investigation.
And for your reference, by the way, that investigation is related to the Trump Organization's employment of their former attorney, Mr.
Michael Cohen.
Now, what this ruling from the Supreme Court actually means is that a New York grand jury will be able to obtain President Trump's records and look at them in secret, meaning that the records will not be publicly disclosed anytime soon.
Although, let's see how that actually works out, because you probably already know, if you've been paying attention, that these types of documents are routinely leaked to the media.
So we'll have to see how it actually plays out.
Following this decision from the Supreme Court, President Trump released a public statement saying that the New York officials who are investigating him are participating in what he's calling a continuation of the greatest political witch hunt in the history of our country.
His statement then went on to say...
The Supreme Court never should have let this fishing expedition happen, but they did.
This is something which has never happened to a president before.
It is all Democrat-inspired in a totally Democrat location, New York City and state, completely controlled and dominated by a heavily reported enemy of mine, Governor Andrew Cuomo.
These are attacks by Democrats willing to do anything to stop the almost 75 million people, the most votes by far ever gotten by a sitting president who voted for me in the election.
Now, one thing to note here, which President Trump might be referencing, is that the Manhattan District Attorney, a man by the name of Cyrus Vance, he is a Democrat and he is the one who is leading this investigation.
And furthermore, other Democrat officials in New York, such as New York Attorney General Letitia James, they have either launched probes or taken action against President Trump or his businesses in the last few years.
In fact, just recently, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, he moved to cut ties between New York City and the Trump Organization, which runs several popular ice rinks, such as this one here in Central Park.
And as a part of his statement, President Trump called this type of targeting part of a new phenomenon of headhunting prosecutors and attorneys general who try to take down their political opponents using the law as a weapon.
And then in that same statement, he went on to further say, That's fascism, not justice.
And that is exactly what they are trying to do with respect to me, except that the people of our country won't stand for it.
Now, if you would like to read President Trump's full statement on this issue, that link will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And by the way, you know that description box, right?
It's the one that's right below that like button that I hope you take a moment to smash.
You already know that videos that are like this, talking honestly about what's happening in both America and the world, are routinely either censored or throttled, meaning their reach is reduced by big tech giants like YouTube.
However, when you smash that like button that's below this video, you are forcing the YouTube algorithm to share this video out to potentially thousands of more people, letting the truth be known far and wide.
Now, let's circle back and talk about the Supreme Court a bit more.
This decision regarding President Trump's taxes was not the only big decision made by the court in the last several days.
That's because two days ago, the Supreme Court decided to throw out a slew of cases regarding the presidential election of 2020.
Now, these were legal challenges that were working their way up through the court system over the last several months, and they addressed legal challenges to the voting processes, as well as the results in several states from the last election.
However, the court declined to hear all the cases and provided no explanation for their rationale, no explanation for their decision.
One of the cases in question came out of Pennsylvania, and it was being pushed forward by both President Trump as well as the Pennsylvania Republican Party.
It was challenging a lower courts decision which, for one, relaxed the ballot integrity measures, and secondly, it extended the ballot receipt deadline by three days, actions which the plaintiffs in that case alleged were unconstitutional.
Now, this Pennsylvania case was one of the ones that the Supreme Court dismissed.
However, that decision was not unanimous.
In fact, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who is considered by many to be one of the most conservative justices on the bench, he issued a dissenting opinion.
He wrote in part,"...this is not a prescription for confidence.
Changing the rules in the middle of the game is bad enough.
That decision to rewrite the rules seems to have affected too few ballots to change the outcome of any federal election, but that may not be the case in the future." Now, Judge Clarence Thomas was joined by two other justices as well, Samuel Alito as well as Neil Gorsuch, in their dissent.
Now, if you'd like to know the details about which cases were actually dismissed, which states they came from, as well as the legal matters in question in those cases, all those links will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And by the way, this is a phenomenal opportunity for me to introduce our channel sponsor for today, and I will do so from the sound room.
That's right.
The sponsor of today's episode is American Hartford Gold, which is a company that's run by Patriots, which is why they sponsor a channel like ours.
So I don't have a PhD in international economics, but my common sense tells me that when the government is printing so much money in all these stimulus programs, when the Federal Reserve is buying up...
A colossal amount of assets, and in that process, creating more currency into our system.
And when the national debt is ballooning to close to $30 trillion and yet nobody is talking about it, that's a recipe for a disaster for our fiat currency, for the U.S. dollar.
So what I do is every single month, I just allocate a portion of my salary to buying physical gold and silver.
And by the way, I am not qualified to give you any type of investment advice.
I just tell you what I do.
And I believe that physical gold and silver had value 5,000 years ago.
It has value today.
And it'll likely have value 5,000 years into the future, which is unfortunately more than I can say for the American dollar.
Again, just my opinion.
And if you're looking to buy physical gold and silver, I would highly recommend that you check out American Heart for Gold.
They're one of my personal gold dealers, and they are phenomenal.
They have great customer service.
With the Better Business Bureau, they have an A-plus rating, and they're just great people to work with.
They're friendly, honest, transparent, just great.
Everything you could basically want from a gold dealer.
I'll throw a link into the description box below this video where you can type in your email and they will send you a PDF book, basically a guide to beginning to invest in gold and silver.
And by the way, they make it super simple.
They can either deliver physical gold and silver to your doorstep or deposit it directly into your IRA account, making the whole thing super simple.
So check out the link in the description box below or give them a call at 866-242-2352.
866-242-2352.
Or you can text Roman to 65532.
I'm Eric Hartford Gold.
Thank you so much for sponsoring this episode.
And now, Roman in the studio, back to you.
Now, if you're wondering why more people are not discussing these election lawsuits, let me shed some light on that.
The censorship around the topic of the election has reached new heights.
It seems like our own government officials are getting into the censorship game themselves.
That's because right now, House Democrats are sending letters and attempting to pressure TV carriers to stop hosting conservative-leaning channels, like Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax.
In fact, two Democrat House members, and for your reference, they are Jerry McNerney and Anna Eschersent, both of them being from California, and they sent physical letters to 12 cable, satellite, and streaming companies urging them to take steps that would combat the spread of misleading information.
Specifically, they said that these three conservative news stations, Fox News, ONN, and Newsmax, have been spreading misinformation about the election as well as COVID-19.
And therefore, there should be the platform.
For instance, in one letter to AT&T, here's what these Democrat lawmakers wrote.
And by the way, this letter was written on official government letterhead.
Take a look.
Experts have noted that the right-wing media ecosystem is much more susceptible to disinformation, lies, and half-truths.
Right-wing media outlets like Newsmax, One American News Network, and Fox News all aired misinformation about the November 2020 elections.
Fox News, meanwhile, has spent years spewing misinformation about American politics.
The letter then goes on, and at the end of the letter, on the second page, they ask TV carriers seven questions, ending with this one.
Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN on U-Verse, DirecTV, and AT&T TV, both now and beyond any contract renewal date?
If so, why?
And by the way, that entire letter, which is just two pages long, and for me at least, it was almost unbelievable to read when you consider that it was actually coming from government officials.
If you want to read it for yourself, it'll be in the description box below this video.
Now, while we have seen similar efforts like this, for instance, just last month, CNN was reportedly trying to get Newsmax deplatformed.
However, this story is different, because these are sitting lawmakers.
These are members of Congress who are attempting to censor, as well as to outright deplatform, actual news outlets in America.
Well, the head of the FCC was not having it.
Brendan Carr, who is the commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission, he wrote a very strong statement, saying in part, By writing letters to the cable providers and other regulated entities that carry these news media outlets, The Democrats are sending a message that is as clear as it is troubling.
These regulated entities will pay a price if the targeted newsrooms do not conform to Democrats' preferred political narratives.
This is a chilling transgression of the free speech rights that every media outlet in this country enjoys.
He then went on and said, Debate on matters of public interest should be robust, uninhibited, and wide open.
More speech is better than less.
Yet the concerted effort by Democrats to drive political dissent from the public square represents a marked departure from these First Amendment norms.
A newsroom's decision about what stories to cover and how to frame them should be beyond the reach of any government official non-targeted by them.
He then went on further in his statement and called on his colleagues over at the FCC to join him in publicly denouncing this effort to stifle both political speech and independent news judgment.
Now, if you would like to read either the letters that were sent from the Democrats to these different TV carriers, or if you would like to read this statement from the FCC commissioner, all those links will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And now let's continue our discussion about censorship by talking about what happened over at Amazon.
It looks like Amazon quietly removed a book which was critiquing the transgender ideology.
The author of that book said that he was not notified and that the company, meaning Amazon, offered no explanation as to why his book was no longer available.
The book in question is called When Harry Became Sally, Responding to the Transgender Moment by Ryan Anderson, and it was removed by Amazon about three days ago.
Which was February the 21st, although the exact timing is hard to pinpoint since the author of the book only learned about the move when people informed him that they could no longer find it online anymore because he was not notified of the book's removal.
Now, the timing of this book's disappearance is interesting because it coincided right around the same time that this author published an op-ed in the New York Post.
That op-ed was critical of a bill being pushed forward by the Biden administration, which would insert sexual orientation as well as gender identity as protected categories under the Civil Rights Act.
Now, we here at the Epoch Times, we actually reached out to Amazon for comment on this issue.
But I've yet to hear back.
And one thing to also mention here is that this is not the first time that Amazon appears to have engaged in censorship on this topic.
In fact, last year, a journalist told us that Amazon refused paid advertising for her book, which was called Irreversible Damage, The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters.
Their refusal to accept paid advertising basically meant that people who were searching for that topic on Amazon would see sponsored listings of other authors who might be presenting an opposing view on the issue, but hers wasn't allowed.
Now back then, we also reached out to Amazon for comment on her case, but we never heard back.
If you'd like to read more about this essential modern-day book burning, you can find those links in the description box below this video to read for yourself.
And now let's talk a bit about Brian Sicknick.
He is the Capitol Police officer who sadly died following the Capitol breach on January the 6th.
Now, originally, the New York Times reported, based on anonymous sources, that this police officer was beaten to death, specifically by a fire extinguisher.
Both CNN and NBC later reported those claims as well.
And more importantly, those same claims were cited during the Senate impeachment trial at the Capitol itself.
However, Brian Sicknick's mother recently came out and refuted those reports.
While speaking with the Daily Mail, she said that he was not beaten with a fire extinguisher, but likely actually suffered a stroke instead.
Here's what she said.
Furthermore, Brian Sicknick's own brother also disputed the reports about his death back in early January.
This is what he told to news outlets.
Officer Sicknick texted me last night and said, I got pepper sprayed twice, and he was in good shape.
Now, at this moment, medical examiners have not released an official report on Officer Sicknick's cause of death, and an autopsy report has also not been released yet.
Now, what's notable here is that the New York Times did update their story in February this month by saying this.
New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.
However, there is something important to note here.
There were reports of new information emerging about the circumstances of his death around the same time that the New York Times published their original report, back on January 8, about a month before the New York Times issued that update.
Now, there is a reason that I wanted to bring the story up, the reason that I believe it's noteworthy.
Last week, as these new details were coming to light, an investigative journalist named Glenn Greenwald noted that Brian Sicknick's death was referenced so much because it is the only example the media had of the pro-Trump mob deliberately killing anyone.
He also added that...
And by the way, for your reference, according to officials, two other protesters died of medical-related causes, while another one allegedly died due to the crush of fellow protesters.
Now, if you'd like to read more about the updates in the story or the full comments from Brian Sicknick's mom, those links will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And by the way, now, almost unbelievably, we have a second sponsor for today's episode.
And I will tell you about them also in the sound room.
That's right.
The sponsor of today's episode is a great company called Home Title Lock.
And the reason it's a great company is that it helps protect you from fraud.
The way that it all works is that the title to your home is likely stored in a database somewhere online, which is all well and good, except for the fact that hackers, they can break into that database and download your home's title and then fake your signature on something called a quit claim deed, making it look like you sold your home to them, I mean, it's not true, but the bank doesn't know any better.
And so then these fraudsters will then start to get loans against your property and basically suck all the equity out of it.
And you won't know what's happening until you start getting the collection calls to your own phone number.
Right?
And so common insurance plans, the bank, and common identity theft programs actually don't protect you against home title theft, but home title lock does.
If you're a member with them and this ever happens to you, they will spend up to a quarter of a million dollars in legal fees to restore your home's title.
And so if you are interested in checking it out, the link will be in the description box below.
Or you can go to HomeTitleLock.com and register your home address to see if you are already a victim of home title theft.
And then if you want to join their program, you can use promo code Roman, Roman, like my name, Roman, and you can get 30 days of free protection.
Again, that link will be in the description box below.
And Home Title Lock, thank you so much for sponsoring this episode.
And now Roman in the studio, back to you.
And now lastly, as we've already discussed in previous episodes, on the very same day that Joe Biden was sworn into office, YouTube made the unilateral decision to demonetize our program, to demonetize Facts Matter.
We can now no longer run any ads before, during, or after our program, and the Super Chat feature has just been disabled.
They basically have stopped any way of monetizing this channel.
Luckily, we do have channel sponsors, but still, I mean, this is a form of trying to stifle the freedom of the press, at least in my opinion.
When you stop an independent news outlet like the Epoch Times from being able to collect advertising revenue, you're basically trying to snuff out their reporting.
However, if you would like to support free, unbiased, uncensored reporting like here at The Epoch Times, I'll throw a link into the description box below this video to a page where you can subscribe to The Epoch Times.
It only costs a few dollars every month.
However, by subscribing, not only will you be supporting honest, uncensored journalism, but you will have access to all of our reports, all of our investigations.
And if anything ever happens here on YouTube, you will continue to have access to all of our video programs.
Like Facts Matter, Crossroads, American Thought Leaders, and all the rest.
Again, that link will be in the description box below this video, and I hope that you subscribe.
And now lastly, if you haven't already, smash that like button for the YouTube algorithm, subscribe to this YouTube channel so that you can get honest news delivered directly into your YouTube feed while you still can.
And until next time, I'm your host, Roman from the Epoch Times.
