Good evening.
After President Trump has been pushing her for years to do this, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has just announced that she will be running for the governor of Arkansas, a position that was once held by her father.
Meanwhile, shortly after taking office, Joe Biden has issued a 100-day freeze on deportations, meaning that illegal aliens who are here in the U.S. cannot be deported back to their home countries.
However, Texas is fighting back against this order, saying that it endangers their citizens.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, 33 children who were being trafficked over in Southern California were rescued by U.S. Marshals.
And this came after a four-year-long push to fight back against human trafficking around the U.S. And lastly, when Amazon employees wanted to vote by mail on whether to unionize or not, Amazon, the big company Amazon, they fought back by saying that they should not do mail-in voting internally because the best approach to valid,
fair, and successful elections is one that is conducted manually and in This is your daily Facts Matter update, and I'm your host, Roman, from the Epoch Times.
Let's start today's discussion by talking about the U.S. southern border.
So we here at the Epoch Times, we got a great opportunity, and we spoke with a chief patrol agent at the U.S. southern border.
And he said that migrants are increasing at a concerning rate at the border.
According to him, the section of the border that he himself is responsible for, which is the Laredo sector, has made over 30,000 arrests in this fiscal year, which is a 50% increase over the same period last year.
He also told us that it's not just his sector of the border, but that similar trends are playing out across all the other sectors as well.
Now, this comes at a time, as we discussed in a previous episode, when caravans are building up in Honduras, planning to make their way up here to America.
Now, the acting commissioner of the Customs and Border Protection Agency, he issued a statement telling the migrants, do not waste your time and money, and do not risk your safety and health, meaning do not come here.
However, this chief patrol agent that we spoke with, he said that he has not seen a reduction in migrants in response to that statement.
Now, two days ago, Joe Biden, he had a call with the president of Mexico.
And during that call, Biden pledged to send $4 billion to Central American countries.
Why?
Well, according to a statement from the Mexican president, this pledge of billions of American tax dollars was to help development in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to stem migration from Central America into Mexico.
According to a summary of the call that was released by the White House, Joe Biden also outlined his plan to reduce migration by addressing its root causes, increasing resettlement capacity and lawful alternative immigration pathways, improving processing at the border to adjudicate requests for asylum.
Now, for a bit of context here, in June of 2019, so two years ago, the Mexican president signed a deal with President Trump under which Mexico agreed to take steps to curb illegal immigration.
And in return, President Trump withdrew threats to place tariffs on Mexican products.
And over the past several months, the Mexican president had refused to acknowledge Joe Biden as the president-elect, and he also defended President Trump after he was banned from Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
He said that...
I don't like anybody being censored or taking away from the right to post a message on Twitter or Facebook.
I don't agree with that.
I don't accept that.
How can you censor someone?
Let's see.
I, as the judge of the Holy Inquisition, will punish you because I think what you're saying is harmful.
Where is the law?
Where is the regulation?
What are the norms?
This is an issue of government.
This is not an issue for private companies.
Now, shortly after this phone call with Joe Biden, the Mexican president said that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
However, he says that his symptoms are mild.
On Twitter, he wrote that, As always, I am optimistic.
We will all move forward.
So we here, of course, wish him a speedy recovery.
Now, besides the billions that are going to be sent over to Central America, Joe Biden has also issued a memorandum suspending the deportations of illegal aliens who are already inside of our borders.
In a memo that was released by the acting DHS secretary, it directed, An immediate pause on removals of any non-citizen with a final order of removal, except as noted below, for 100 days.
The exceptions to that order, by the way, include illegal aliens who have either engaged in or are suspected of either terrorism or espionage.
However, soon after that memo was released, the state of Texas filed a lawsuit against this 100-day freeze order from the Biden administration.
They said that,"...on its first day in office, the Biden administration cast aside congressionally enacted immigration laws and suspended the removal of illegal aliens whose removal is compelled by those very laws." In doing so, it ignored basic constitutional principles and violated its written pledge to work cooperatively with the state of Texas to address shared immigration enforcement concerns.
This unlawful reversal will cause Texas immediate and irreparable harm if it is not enjoined.
Now, furthermore, according to that lawsuit, this memo affects nearly all illegal aliens with pending deportations, including those whose removal was ordered following a full and fair hearing, and those who are not entitled and do not claim to be entitled to further immigration benefits.
In a statement that was released by Ken Paxton, who is the Attorney General in Texas, he said that, Our state defends the largest section of the southern border in the nation.
Failure to properly enforce the law will directly and immediately endanger our citizens and law enforcement personnel.
So, we'll have to wait and see how this lawsuit plays out and what happens to this 100-day freeze on deportations.

Take a quick second to smash that like button.

So that's the state of the world right now.

And actually, I want to take a minute to talk about this because right now is a time when advertisers are making a concerted effort to not give any advertising dollars to news outlets like ours.
And social media giants like this actually go one step further to just not allow pre-roll ads, mid-roll ads, or post-roll ads to run on our program whatsoever.
However, we actually have a great show sponsor which made the decision to sponsor our episode.
And let me tell you a little bit more about them in the sound room.
That's right.
The sponsor of today's program is American Hartford Gold.
They are a company that's owned by Patriots.

American Heart for Gold, thank you so much for sponsoring our episode.
Now, Roman in the studio, back to you.
Now, one of the big issues that coincides with the southern border problem, and is an issue that usually goes unsaid by the media, is the reality of human trafficking.
Now, three days ago, the FBI announced that 33 children were rescued by the U.S. Marshals in Southern California from human trafficking.
And that includes eight of these children who were being exploited sexually.
The multi-agency operation that was responsible for these kids being saved was called Operation Lost Angels, and it involved more than two dozen partner agencies working in conjunction, working together.
In a statement that was released by the FBI, they said that, Of the 33 children recovered, eight were being sexually exploited at the time of recovery.
Two were recovered multiple times during the operation while on the track, a common term used to describe a known location for commercial sex trafficking.
Now, the FBI has said that the caseload for both sex and labor trafficking has seen a surge in the last several years.
And as of November of 2020, so as of about three months ago, the FBI said that it was working on more than 1,800 pending investigations, including cases involving minors.
And last year alone, by the way, there was 664 human trafficking investigations conducted nationwide, and from those, it resulted in 473 traffickers being arrested.
Now, one of the reasons for the increase in these investigations is that President Trump made fighting human trafficking a top priority of his administration since pretty much the day that he entered office.
And this time last year, in January of 2020, he signed an executive order that was focused on eliminating human trafficking and online child exploitation here in the United States.
And I think that regardless of your political affiliation, I think all Americans, we can all hope that this kind of effort continues.
Now, it was just reported a few days ago that a child sex trafficking victim has filed a lawsuit against Twitter in a U.S. district court.
He alleged that Twitter knowingly received and distributed child pornography from which it could benefit.
According to the court filing, John Doe, that's the name of the plaintiff, said that he was solicited and recruited for sex trafficking while he was a minor.
And after his escape, material depicting his abuse was disseminated on Twitter.
And it goes on to say that, Now, this plaintiff, as well as his parent, continued to contact Twitter multiple times about this content.
But Twitter allegedly did not suspend the accounts that were distributing these things until a Department of Homeland Security agent came in and intervened.
Now, this, of course, comes in the midst of a heavier-than-normal censorship push over at Twitter, wherein President Trump was kicked off the platform, along with many other conservatives.
The court filing goes on to say that, This lawsuit seeks to shine a light on how Twitter has enabled and profited from CSAM, which is child sexual abuse material, on its platform.
Now, if you'd like to read the full court filing, that link will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And now, let's switch gears a little bit and talk about a few things that are happening across America, starting with Arkansas.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders just announced that she is going to be running for governor of Arkansas.
Now, Sarah Sanders is, of course, the former White House press secretary for President Trump.
In her announcement video, she said that, America is great because we are free.
But today, our freedom and the rule of law are under attack.
Everything we love about America is at stake.
With the radical left now in control of Washington, your governor is your last line of defense.
In fact, your governor must be on the front line.
So today, I announce my candidacy for governor of Arkansas and ask for your prayers and your support.
Now, for your reference, her father, Mike Huckabee, was the former governor of Arkansas.
And also, President Trump has over the years repeatedly said that Sarah Sanders should run for the governor of Arkansas position.
He said that, I think she'll do very well, and I'm trying to get her to do that.
And later he said that, She is a very special person with extraordinary talent, who has done an incredible job.
I hope she decides to run for governor of Arkansas.
She would be fantastic.
Now, that is, of course, a very strong endorsement.
So this election, the Gubernational Arkansas election, will take place in November of next year, so there's quite a bit of time left in this race.
Now, just the other day, President Trump made his first political endorsement since leaving office.
Arizona Republican Party Chairwoman Kelly Ward, who is an ally of President Trump, was re-elected to her role as chairwoman over in the Republican Party of Arizona after President Trump endorsed her for another two-year term.
In a short call last week, Trump called on Arizonians to re-elect Ward, saying that he gives her his complete and total endorsement, and that she is a terrific person.
She is a person I know.
You'll never find anybody as dedicated to every aspect we're all dedicated to.
So after this endorsement over in Arizona, I read some analysis online about how this endorsement from President Trump, which came very soon after he left office, might signal that President Trump will be remaining active in the public political sphere in one way or another.
I guess only time will tell what the reality is going to be.
Now, while we're on the subject of President Trump, let's talk about two things that happened down in Florida.
First of all, a Florida House member is planning to propose legislation that would rename the U.S. 27 route in Florida, which is a route of highway, as the President Donald J. Trump Highway.
On his Facebook page, he wrote that, This great highway runs through the heartland of Florida in the state that President Trump calls home.
Now the other thing worth mentioning that happened down in Florida was that two Miami-area banks cut their ties with President Trump by closing his bank accounts.
The first was Bank United, which closed President Trump's accounts last Thursday, and they said that,"...we never had a lending relationship with Donald Trump, and we now no longer have any depository relationship with him." And then the second bank, a bank named the Professional Bank, where President Trump held between $5 million and $25 million, also decided to close his bank accounts.
Now, these announcements from these two Florida banks came on the heels of similar moves by Signature Bank over in New York and Deutsche Bank.
They both cut their ties with President Trump after the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, which, of course, if you've been following the news, you know, has been painted by certain news outlets as well as certain politicians as basically an insurrection that was fomented by President Trump.
Now, it's not only banks who are doing this.
Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, he also announced that the city will terminate their business contracts with President Trump.
During an interview, he said that...
I'm here to announce that the city of New York is severing all contracts with the Trump Organization.
Now which contracts is he exactly referring to?
Well, Bill de Blasio said that the Trump Organization earns about $17 million a year in profits from its contracts to run two ice rinks and a carousel in Central Park, as well as a golf course over in the Bronx.
So now can they actually legally do this?
Can they cut their contracts?
Well, according to the mayor, Mayor Bill de Blasio, the city can legally terminate a contract if the leadership of the company is engaged in criminal activity.
However, a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said that the city cannot cancel the contracts.
He said in an email that...
The city of New York has no legal right to end our contracts, and if they elect to proceed, they will owe the Trump Organization over $30 million.
This is nothing more than political discrimination, an attempt to infringe on the First Amendment, and we plan to fight vigorously.
If you'd like to read more about these happenings in Florida as well as in New York, those links will be in the description box below this video for you to check out.
And now, let's talk a little bit about what happened over in Amazon.
Very soon, workers at a warehouse in Alabama are scheduled to vote on whether to unionize or not.
And because of the pandemic, the National Labor Relations Board said that the vote would take place entirely by mail.
Their logic is that a mail-in election will enfranchise employees who cannot enter the voting location for health reasons or due to positive COVID tests.
However, listen to this.
Amazon filed a motion looking to delay the election so that it can take place in person with no mail-in voting.
Why?
Well, here's what a spokesperson for Amazon said.
We believe that the best approach to a valid, fair, and successful election is one that is conducted manually, in person.
We will continue to insist on measures for a fair election, and we want everyone to vote, so our focus is ensuring that it's possible.
I just want to repeat that for clarity, just to make sure that you heard it right.
Amazon, they said that they do not want to have mail-in elections internally because they believe that the best approach to a valid, fair, and successful election is one that is conducted manually, in person.
I hope this video doesn't get taken down by YouTube just because I included that quote.
If you'd like to read the full statement from Amazon, that link will be in the description box below this video.
And now lastly, as we discussed in our previous episode, on Inauguration Day, on the very same day that Joe Biden was sworn into office, YouTube made the decision to demonetize our channel.
We now can no longer run ads before, during, or after our program, and the Super Chat feature has now been disabled.
Basically, our sources of funding for this program have been cut off.
