Time Text
On December 21, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced new visa restrictions on Chinese Communist Party officials, believed to have engaged in human rights abuses and their immediate family members.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf also said his department was looking at further restrictions on China, which he called an ever-increasing threat to the United States.
China's authoritarian rulers impose draconian restrictions on the Chinese people's freedoms of expression, religion or belief, association, and the right to peaceful assembly.
The United States has been clear that perpetrators of human rights abuses like these are not welcome in our country, Pompeo said in the press statement.
In compliance with Immigration and Nationality Act, Chinese officials who are believed to be responsible for or complicit in policies or actions aimed at repressing religious and spiritual practitioners, members of ethnic minority groups, dissidents, human rights defenders, members of ethnic minority groups, dissidents, human rights defenders, journalists, labor organizations, civil society organizers, and peaceful protesters shall be subject to these additional visa restrictions.
This action demonstrates the U.S. government's resolve to hold the Chinese Communist Party, CCP, accountable for its increasing repression against the Chinese people, Pompeo said.
On the same day, Chad Wolf delivered a speech, Homeland Security and the China Challenge, detailing the serious threats from China on the United States and the entire world in politics, economy, and national security.
As the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, I can tell you the plain truth.
The most long-term strategic threat to Americans, to the homeland, and to the American way of life is coming from Beijing.
He added that the Homeland Security Department will work with the State Department to consider further visa restrictions for CCP members.
CBP is working to limit the period of admission for CCP members visiting the United States.
Who in the past might have received 10-year visas to a maximum of one month.
We are also working with state to consider further restrictions on visa validity periods for CCP members.
We are also using all available tools to keep Chinese nationals from concealing their CCP membership or evading disclosure requirements.
According to Wolf, the Homeland Security Department will also impose transparency requirements to expose CCP front groups operating on U.S. colleges and in public schools.
川普要揭露這個華盛頓沼澤 President Trump is determined to expose the Washington swamp, expose those who've committed the crimes of treason by manipulating the election.
At the same time, the United States must stop those individuals who have shady dealings with the CCP and rely on the CCP to provide them with funds or intelligence or other resources to subvert the current U.S. government.
Therefore, it is necessary to take the initiative to take preventative measures against the CCP. President Trump is very clear that the CCP is the biggest enemy for the United States, so he will surely take a tough stance on the CCP. It is necessary to eradicate the power of the so-called fifth column that the CCP has infiltrated into the United States and to minimize the possibility of the CCP members coming
to the United States.
The Trump administration notes very well that there was election fraud when Joe Biden's votes increased drastically on election night.
This kind of election fraud is inseparable from the CCP. China scholar Xueqi applauded President Trump's continued efforts to crack down on the CCP even when the election results are unresolved.
Chad Wolf mentioned in his speech that soon after the U.S. government banned the entry of Chinese students and researchers with military ties, tens of thousands of Chinese students left.
The Homeland Security Department will soon issue a business advisory cautioning against using data services and equipment from firms linked to the People's Republic of China, he said.
