How malicious executing drag queens is a bit past the limit, I think.
But for serious crimes, definitely needs to be brought.
And it's an incredibly progressive thing to an extremist thing to have abolished the death penalty for serious crimes.
Like, almost no one is in favor of it.
Like, literally, go out into the street tomorrow.
Just ask people, should terrorists be hanged?
And everyone would be like, yeah, of course.
Why wouldn't they?
And nothing happens on it.
But anyway, so the problem is that conservatives have a set of an intuitive sense of how the world should be, but have no theoretical grounding for this because conservative philosophers are actually terrible at putting their message out there.
And conservative media pundits are terrible at actually projecting the theory that underpins a traditional worldview.
And this is awful, actually.
I mean, you can probably off the top of your head name a dozen left-wing theorists, right?
You could just sit there listing them off, one after another, one after another.
And you could go on probably forever, but you probably couldn't name 10 conservative philosophers, right?
Or the average person probably couldn't even name one, right?
And this is the problem with the conservatives.
This is the problem with the traditionalists.
Because really, like the very definition conservative, it just comes from the French Revolution.
From the perspective of those people who are like, okay, we consent to progress.
We just don't want it all now, you know, because we want to be ginger about it.
We want to be careful about it.
And okay, but what, and then maybe it made sense, right?
Because it's like, right, okay, we don't know exactly where this is going, but surely it's better than being trapped in the 17th century because the 17th century actually was shit for a lot of people a lot of the time.
And so Francis Bacon being like, look, we can use reason to improve the human condition, totally laudable goal, especially in the era of, oh, I don't know, surgery before anesthetic, for example, right?
Totally laudable goal.
But now we actually have a really high level of technological advancement.
It's actually not like deeply, it's not deep suffering to just get a tooth out or something like that.
So now we have to ask, okay, so what's the point of continuing?
And essentially, progress is to free us of the human condition, which is, you know, where all the techno babble about transhumanism is coming from.
And I'm just, I'm not in for it, right?
And so the conservatives need to explain why what they are trying to argue for when they oppose drag queens is a good thing.
And the problem is that, I mean, you fell into this as well.
You said freedom, right?
That's an interesting word because that word has lots of different meanings to lots of different people.
And it has a very, very powerful meaning to the left, because frankly, the left can win every single argument that revolves around the concept of freedom.
Because actually, total freedom is a really bad thing.
And what you mean is political liberty, which is not the same thing, but it gets wrapped up in the term freedom because it just, you know, naturally does.
It's just a colloquialism.
But political liberty, totally understandable.
Freedom from being a human, possibly not where you were going with that, right?
But this is, of course, where we have arrived with transgenderism.
The body is somehow cursed.
The will that is, in my opinion, generated by the body is in fact the sovereign over the body.
And so you've got this kind of dualistic severing of the mind from the body.
And of course, this can go nowhere because the mind is generated by the brain, which is a part of the body.
And so it's total nonsense to say there is a dichotomy between the mind and the body.
You are one complete whole thing, and that's it, right?
So all of the left-wing metaphysic on that is just nonsense.
It's just total nonsense.
Doesn't exist.
There is no dualism.
You can't be born in the wrong body.
You're a fucking Gnostic preacher to say this, right?
It is not true, and you know it's not true.
So let's move past this and ask, right, what do we actually want, right?
Because I think one thing that we have in the modern world is probably on a personal level, enough freedom.
Now, we don't have enough political liberty.
We can see this through cancel culture, through COVID, through whatever Trudeau, whatever tyranny Trudeau is imposing on Canada right now, you know, and the same thing that happens everywhere else.
We do suffer from a lack of political liberty.
But when it comes to personal freedom, actually, I think we've got enough, if not, we're going too far.
Look at California or Portland or New York or wherever.
So the question is, what exactly do conservatives want to offer young people?
And one message that they have, and this, John Peterson put it well in personal responsibility, but that actually is a facet of something.
And that personal responsibility is a facet of belonging somewhere.
You have responsibility to the other people around you who you belong to and they in some way belong to you.
And so you're being part of something that isn't yourself that you love.
It's about having sentimental attachment to the world around you.
And I honestly, I see a lot of Zoomers online.
I talk to a lot of them in the comments and I just, I'm genuinely concerned for them.
And I think they've had it essentially bred out of them that they don't know what this even means, right?
They are just cosmopolitan, metropolitan.
They don't understand why you wouldn't put your pronouns in your bio.
Like they're not necessarily communists or anything, but they just don't understand why that would be bad because everyone does it.
It's always been done as far as they can ever remember.
And so it's just normal.
And so it's weird that we're the old people are like, no, I'm not putting my pronouns in my bio because a lot of commitments come along with that.
And I think these people are going to find themselves essentially lost in the world, in a world that they've been deliberately programmed not to understand.
And they will never even realize what has been taken away from them.
Because the only thing that matters in the world through the eyes of the left is what is materially in your face.
And even as an atheist, I will say this, there is an aspect to humanity that is transcendent.
There is something greater than yourself that is not merely physical and you are a part of it.
And in fact, I can give you a great example of this.
And I hope to see some support for this in the comments.
Santa Claus is the great example of how you do believe in something bigger than yourself, right?
It's not about you believing in Santa Claus, although obviously you do.
You do not tell a child that Santa Claus does not exist.
And you don't do that because you know that in the current state the child's in, they are innocent.
There is a sanctity there.
There is something about this situation that is like a bubble that you could pop and you know you shouldn't do it.
And so you don't do it.
And so there we go.
You are committed to a metaphysic, a transcendental thing that is the belief in Santa Claus.
This is how we know it's real.
It is a real thing.
It's a real aspect of the human condition.
And now we can then have a conversation moving past that.
But it's going to take a long, long time.
And I don't know whether you can ever really recapture it, to be honest.
Yeah, I also find it to be a little bit interesting with why conservative is failing.
So that's like the fundamental front is that there's a lack of homogeny in general and a joining together because the right wing is often called conservative, but it's not.
And I found that to be one of the funniest things was that I'm not a conservative personally, But because I value conservatism and certain values of it, and I also am like one of those people where I can objectively agree to things that I may or may not even follow because I understand objective truth.
Objectivity is not necessarily politically biased.
It's just objective.
Like, for instance, if you told me, is it objectively healthier to never smoke cigars?
Yeah.
Would I ever recommend people?
Do I ever go to my show like, you should start smoking cigars?
Yes, I do, because smoking is fucking based.
And I do love a good cigar, I'm going to say.
Yeah.
No, but I don't actually promote cigars.
Like to people that do, right?
I'll connect and be like, oh, you like cigars?
Let me tell you a good cigar.
But I never say you should start smoking cigars.
This is a good habit to form.
This is something that is healthy for you because it's an objectively wrong thing.
And I also don't get advantage.
Right.
But I don't get offended when someone tells me, you know, when someone comments, oh, you shouldn't be smoking cigars.
They're not good for you.
I just go, you know, you're probably right.
You actually have a good point.
And I would agree with that.
And I'll let you teach my kids in schools that smoking is bad because whatever.
Go ahead and do that.
Just kidding.
My kids won't be in schools because I don't do that shit.
But also, on the flip side of things, it's like.
My kids will be roguing me out back.
Oh, yeah.
Literally.
We're going to be beheading cobras.
Wrestling with snakes.
Literally.
Literally ripping the legs off of Huntsman spiders.
