Pride LA

This is a full exposure, literally, because people we fully exposing their bodies in public lol. We ventured out into Pride LA to see why we should be proud of liking the same sex rather than being proud of how we treat the person. I mean, sure, it's a free country and most people watching this video probably like the opposite sex, but should we be proud to simply love the opposite sex, or should take pride in how well we treat each other? Behavior is so much more important than feelings and attraction. ⇩ Follow Gavi Kollin Here ⇩ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOe9sLUcu37e5f0xBhovfwA Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gavikollin/ ⇩ KEEP INDEPENDENT MEDIA & JOURNALISM ALIVE ⇩ ➤ PAYPAL: https://paypal.me/slightlyoffensive ➤ VENMO: https://venmo.com/Elijah-Schaffer ➤ PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/slightlyoffensive ➤ MEMBERSHIPS: http://slightlyoffensive.com/donate/ _________________________________________________________________ ⇩ BOOKINGS & INQUIRIES ⇩ ➤ EMAIL: ELIJAH@SLIGHTLYOFFENSIVE.COM _________________________________________________________________ ⇩ SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS ⇩ ➤ INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/elijahschaffer/ https://www.instagram.com/officialslightlyoffensive/ ➤ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/ElijahSchaffer ➤ FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/officialslightlyoffensive ______________________________________________________________________________________ ⇩ OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT SLIGHTLY OFFENS*VE ⇩ ➤ MERCHANDISE: http://slightlyoffensive.com #pride #losangeles #lgbt Slightly Offensive is powered by Blaze Media and is an engaging multi media channel that interviews a wide variety of conservative, centrist, and liberal people around California about their views on pop culture, politics, and the world. I'm gonna take my horse to the Uptown Road and I'm gonna ride till I can't no more.
Gonna take my horse to the Uptown Road.
I'm gonna ride till I get no more.
I'm gonna wish you very happy pride.
There's not another one to buy our side at happy pride.
We want your day, Skadema.
What do you guys think about gay pride?
jordan holmes
Woo!
unidentified
We're here asking people what gay pride is.
And just asking them, you know, about straight pride, gay pride, and everything in between.
Pride 29!
What does gay pride mean to you?
Love!
Freedom and love overbounding.
What is gay pride to you?
Gay Pride is celebration.
You know, living in your truth.
Are you proud to be gay?
I am proud to be gay.
Be proud of who you are, no matter who you are, who you love.
Just be proud of it.
What's your name?
My name is Phil Wilson.
Phil Wilson, what brings you out here today?
Well, I'm the Grand Marshall this year.
One of the Grand Marshals.
Everybody's loved, and everybody's the same, and we're all happy and inclusive.
We're all happy, everybody's loved, and everybody's the same.
Everyone is inclusive, whether you're straight, gay, blue.
I hate black people.
I'm kidding.
Don't put that in there because I love black people.
Celebrating freedom, pride, resistance, remembering.
Love.
It's wonderful, beautiful love.
Loving everybody.
Loving everybody.
Honestly, freedom of expression and to love who you want to.
What does gay pride mean to you?
It's my first time to participate in pride because I'm from China.
So there is no pride in China.
With count, go to austri.
So don't you love being in America and being allowed to do this?
Yeah, it's so different here.
Very offensive.
Very, very offensive.
What does gay pride mean to you?
It means freedom to not do whatever you want, to not be judged.
What does gay pride mean to you?
I don't have enough time for that.
Even as a gay man, I used to be so rude and say that gay people were messy and just about sex, but being out here, it's showing me that they truly just want equal rights.
We're human beings.
We want children.
We want marriage.
We want health benefits.
We want straight friends.
All my friends are straight.
That's why I've never been to gay pride because all my friends are straight.
So are you proud to be gay?
Oh my gosh.
Yes, and because of my mother, because that's all I know how to be.
Are you proud to be straight?
Should I be?
Do you think I should be proud to be straight?
I think you should be proud to be whoever you are.
Should I be proud to be straight?
Probably not.
Should I be proud to be straight?
I mean, pride is essential for communities that need it, who are marginalized.
So there's nothing proud about being straight because it's just natural and it's accepted.
Pride is needed for groups who are not represented as well.
So we're happy or straight.
We love it.
You don't need a pride or a celebration for it.
Yes, you should.
You should be proud to be whatever you normally are.
So I should be proud of just the fact that I like females.
I think you should be proud to what you feel, to what you feel.
Because there are straight men that don't feel the same way you feel about women.
You might love them.
I'm proud of the fact that I respect women because I think I do.
And there's not straight men that all respect women.
Exactly, but I don't think I should be proud of just the fact that I'm attracted to women, right?
Like, you should be proud of the way you treat men, not just the fact that you like men, right?
Let's get him his Emmy, y'all.
That's a definition of who I am.
I am a bisexual person.
That's how I represent myself.
But who you are is your uniqueness, your character.
You know what I mean?
Oh, most definitely.
But you telling me that you're biased.
I don't know who you are, per se.
Oh, well, you didn't ask, like, you know, all the details.
That's one portion of my life.
That's a small portion of it, though, right?
It doesn't mean that much in the grand scheme of things.
Oh, it definitely does, because I represent my bisexuality, so everyone knows.
Happy Pride!
Are you proud to be gay?
Woo!
Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
Tell me what that means.
Gay, gay is love, gays freedom.
Gay is here.
Gay pride is all about equal rights.
And everyone should have the same rights.
Did you guys hear about in Baltimore?
There's the straight pride parade.
Did you hear about that?
trevor noah
Pride month is a joyful time for the LGBTQ people and really anyone who's not an asshole.
But if you are an asshole, well, this is good news for you too.
unidentified
USA Today says a small group of men sparked outrage in Boston by announcing plans to hold a straight pride parade in August.
The group called Super Happy Fun America.
Wait a second, have you seen a Pride parade?
That is Super Happy Fun America.
Okay.
That's funny.
People think it's funny.
It is funny.
It's kind of ridiculous.
What are you guys' thoughts on that?
I mean, I don't want to be spreading hate on a happy day, so that's beautiful.
They should do their thing or whatever.
Did you hear about this straight pride parade coming up in Baltimore?
Is there really no?
Oh, yeah.
What are your thoughts on that?
I think it's bullshit.
Straight pride's every day, so I mean, have your moment.
No one cares.
Straight people shouldn't be proud to be straight, but gay people should be proud to be gay.
I think they should be proud to be straight, but I mean, like, you've never been held back from doing what you want to do, so you might as well just let the gay people be gay people and just do what you're going to do, period.
Straight, bi, gay, doesn't matter.
But I mean, do you really need a pride?
You don't.
Honestly, as a straight male, it's kind of embarrassing.
Why is it embarrassing?
I just can't imagine that you need a day on something that has never been persecuted whatsoever to just celebrate straightness.
I think it's a bit embarrassing.
Should I be proud to be straight?
I think you should be proud of who you are.
I think it's a lot of our history and our resistance and what's happened.
And to be at a point now where we can be out in the street celebrating but still know that there's a lot to fight for, I think it's important.
It's what's needed.
So we're glad that everyone's here having fun, but remember what it took to get us here and where we still need to go.
Don't you love that you live in America where this can be accepted?
I love that I live in America.
There's still things except that we need where acceptance isn't quite there.
Gay, we all.
Gay we all.
We all gay we all.
Gay we all.
Woo!
If you're gay, go for it.
I love it.
You think I should be proud to be straight?
Yeah, I'm proud to be straight.
You're proud of just the fact that you like men?
Sure.
Just that fact.
Just that fact?
That's what being straight is, right?
Yeah, sure.
I mean, I feel like, even though I am straight, like, I don't think it makes that big of a difference.
Like, for someone who's bi, like, yeah, you've got, like, I think girls are hot.
Yeah, but, like, am I going to hook up with a girl?
Sexuality.
Are you saying in general sexuality doesn't make that much of a difference for who you are as a person?
No.
Should I be proud to be straight?
You should be proud.
You should be proud to be whoever you want to be.
If you're gay, straight, bi, lesbian, transsexual, whatever you want, go for a be gay as all you want or be whoever you want.
Be real straight.
I'm gay.
How are you?
Happy pride.
Don't you guys love that we're here in Los Angeles in America and have the freedom to come to a gay pride parade to be gay and not get thrown off a roof?
America!
Yeah!
Are you guys proud to be American?
Yeah, sometimes.
How about now?
Are you guys proud of the American now?
That's a weighted question.
That's a weighted question.
Proud to be an American here at Pride.
This is great, but this is not everywhere.
This is LA.
This is a small community celebrating that.
So I'm very thankful for it, but I'm very aware that we still have work to do.
The gay community, I think, has been persecuted for so long, and I think that's my main issue.
I think at that point, there should be pride because at that point, it should be celebrated because it's been hidden for so long.
So you're saying we should be proud of the fact that we've come so far and that we're at a point where you can be gay.
You should be proud of the fact that you can be gay on the streets here in LA.
Damn straight.
But you shouldn't be proud of just the fact that you're attracted to men if you're a guy.
Oh, you totally can be.
I mean, whatever you're into about pride and all that, pride is an interesting subject for me.
I am proud about a few things, not much.
My daughter, my wife, my life, you know, but.
Not just the fact that you're attracted to females.
It doesn't matter.
There's nothing wrong with being straight, but I don't have to be proud of just my sexuality.
Yeah, we don't need to go out and have a parade about it, you know?
Yeah, I'm straight.
Oh my god, two straight boys.
Can I get in the middle?
I know who I am and f what you guys say because I'm comfortable with who I am.
You know, that's a fair answer.
That's a very fair answer.
Yeah, it's logical.
It's concise.
Thank you guys.
We're counting to see how many floats I can get on.
Wish me luck.
I'm getting on that float.
Apparently, they'll arrest you.
jordan holmes
Thank you.
unidentified
Yeah.
I fing love you.
Thank you.
jordan holmes
I love you too.
unidentified
I'll f get this too, but I can't.
Very cool.
Do you think that this is a family-friendly event?
Absolutely.
There's, I mean, as you go, there's kids.
Would you guys consider this a family-friendly event?
Yeah, hell yeah.
What are your thoughts on all like the half-naked people?
You don't mind showing your kids that at all?
No, absolutely not.
I just want to surround them with other naked people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, why not?
Yeah, why not?
Is this a family-friendly event?
Yes.
Oh, my God.
Everybody should come.
And the younger you are, the more accepted, like, the more accepting you'll be getting older.
jordan holmes
I need that.
unidentified
No, no, he buys.
Oh, he bites.
He bites.
We want everybody to feel so inclusive.
We have children by the age of two out here that shouldn't be out here.
Is this a family-friendly event?
Absolutely.
What about all the half-naked people that your kid is seeing?
I do not care.
Happy birthday.
jordan holmes
Yes.
unidentified
Yes.
jordan holmes
High five.
High five.
Yeah.
unidentified
High five.
Yeah.
Are you proud?
Yes.
Yeah.
How proud are you?
Yeah.
Planner, you even have a baby.
Did you bird this baby?
Yes.
So you could have this baby if you had.
Yes, I could have.
And that's awesome that you can't.
And it's my body, my choice.
Kill this little guy.
jordan holmes
Oh.
unidentified
Thank God he's alive, right?
Are you with Planned Parenthood?
jordan holmes
Yes.
unidentified
Yeah?
Awesome.
Can I ask you a question about pride?
Okay, so let's say some hardcore homophobic Christian has a baby.
It's a woman.
And she says, I don't want a gay baby.
I want to up this gay baby.
And I want to go to a Planned Parenthood to abort this gay baby.
Should they be allowed to?
Yes.
Anybody should be allowed to.
But they want to kill it because it's gay.
Well, that's the choice that she made.
And that's fair and justified?
How is she going to know he's gay if he's not born yet?
Well, you can find out if a kid has like Down syndrome.
Let's say it's a hypothetical.
If she found out that he was gay, should she be able to kill it?

Till next year.
This is LGBTQ Hardcore Parkour.
What?
Struggle la Lucha for socialism.
You like socialism?
Oh, I love it.
See ya, I got it on my shirt.
Oh, it's right there.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Dude, yeah, that's so cool.
My God, have socialist nations been pro-gay usually?
Oh, yeah, actually.
If you check out Cuba, have you seen it?
Yeah, Cuba.
Cuba, yeah, Cuba was pro-gay.
Oh, it is, yeah, definitely now.
And when it first started with this whole socialist regime, was it pro-gay?
When gayness first started, that was a long, long time ago.
With what's it called?
Castro.
Oh, with Castro.
You know, it's Castro's daughter right now.
Raul Castro is Raul Castro's daughter right now.
They have a whole institute.
They had a whole method of trying to change the population for consciousness.
You know, Castro's number two, Che Guevara, put gay people into camps and killed them.
No, you know, you can.
Are you talking about when?
When the HIV struggle came out?
No, no, no.
talking about Che Guevara and Fidel Castro.
Oh yeah, there were backwards ideas about, but if you go to...
He literally killed gay people.
There is no one.
Just saying that he was pro-gay.
No one has been killed in Cuba for being transgender or for being gay.
It's definitely, yeah, for being gay.
It's never happened.
Like in this country.
Like in this country.
Really?
So Che Guevara, Che Guevara wasn't some homophobic murder been publicized all over the place because of anti-communism that you're trying to bring out right now.
Because this country hates communism or socialism because, you know, they don't want the 1%, the 0.1% to share the wealth with the other people around the world.
Castro and Che Guevara, super pro-gay, right?
Che Guevara?
With Fidel Castro.
Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, super pro-gay.
Oh, look at Cuba right now.
Check it out.
Super pro-gay, right?
No, you can check out this woman here.
Leslie Feinberg.
Check out Leslie Feinberg.
jordan holmes
All right.
